Sarah Steelman Owes Lots of Campaign Debt as She Considers House Campaign

Soon Sarah Steelman will try to convince Southeast Missouri she is ready to go to Mordor on the Potomac and get the House in order. However, it appears Steelman's own house isn't in order, and she is hoping Southeast Missourians won't notice. However, some of the people her US Senate campaign did business with are getting impatient.

The Daily Caller writes:

As former Missouri state treasurer Sarah Steelman prepares to embark on another campaign for office, she still has not paid off the $875,000 debt she owes vendors from her last campaign, and according to one unpaid vendor, has become unresponsive to calls requesting payments.

The debts are from Steelman’s Senate Republican primary run in 2012, which she ultimately lost to former Rep. Todd Akin. She is now seeking the Republican nomination in the special election to replace Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, who resigned last month.

When you go from one losing campaign to the next losing campaign, there comes a time when you should just admit your time in politics is over. When you owe this much money from a previous campaign you probably shouldn't even think about getting into another campaign...

Yet, she will make the case she knows how to solve all of Washington's problems.
