Rand Paul Speaks of Good News in Iowa as Ron Paul Support Takes Republican Party State Chair
Senator Rand Paul issued the following statement about A.J. Spiker being selected as the Iowa State Republican Chairman:
As a constitutional conservative, I'd like our Republican Party to be known for its adherence to our Founding principles.
Principles like individual liberty, free markets, and constitutional government.
And I believe one of the first steps to achieving that goal is having Party leaders who share these same ideals and values.
With its "First in the Nation" status, the Republican Party of Iowa will have a significant impact on the GOP over the next few years.
That's why I'd like to take a moment to congratulate A.J. Spiker on his reelection as Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa.
A.J. Spiker served as Iowa co-chair of my father's Presidential campaign, and I can tell you he's as committed to fighting for our conservative values as I am.
There's no doubt Iowa will shape the direction of the party and play a substantial role in promoting the ideas and national candidates looking to take an active role in 2014, 2016 and beyond.
That's why it's so important to ensure the team in Iowa has the resources it needs to get the job done.
The importance of the Republican Party of Iowa being filled with solid conservatives and liberty activists cannot be under-stated.
The Republican Party MUST be devoted to cutting taxes AND cutting spending. And it must be committed to defending the civil liberties of our Constitution.
Iowa serves as an example of the success and influence grassroots conservatives like you can make by banding together and moving forward with our message.
The team assembled in Iowa is perfectly suited to make an impact for our cause.
And it will be Iowa that helps decide which candidates and political figures have the national stage in the 2014 mid-term elections and 2016 Presidential election.
That's why what happens in Iowa is so important to our movement as a whole.
Together, you and I can restore our conservative values in the Republican Party.
In Liberty,
Senator Rand Paul
P.S. Congratulations to A.J. Spiker for being reelected Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa.
A.J. served as Iowa co-chair of my father's Presidential campaign, and I can tell you he's as committed to fighting for our conservative values as I am.
