GNC Deluxe Juicer Review

I have been watching many documentaries lately about Max Gerson. Gerson is the famed doctor credited for curing cancer through a combination of juicing, which provides the body with needed nutrients, to build up the defense system, and coffee enemas, which remove toxins from the body--especially the liver. Having studied and even meeting Dr. Joel Wallach, I do believe there is something to this idea that nutrition is the key to longevity.

So I knew I was going to add a juicer to my kitchen. I just didn't know when. If the right deal came along, then it might even be sooner. So there I was walking down the hallway of the Battlefield Mall when I noticed a stack of juicers with an attractive price tag stacked in front of the General Nutrition Center. $39.99... That's a good price to learn the basics. I walked out of the mall with a new juicer. Less than a month later, I returned it back to the GNC.

The juice isn't the problem. I have made orange juice, apple juice, apple carrot juice, lemonade, and pineapple juice, and it seems to do that well. What is the problem is the engineering of the machine. It doesn't deliver the pulp to the pulp collector efficiently. As a result, the pulp builds up putting great strain on the motor. I don't need to tell you the hard the electric motor works, the hotter it gets. The motor doesn't last long. Which is why I braved the cold weather today, missing the last part of the first half between Atlanta and Seattle to return the juicer for a replacement.

So the kid at GNC says they get a lot of these returned and reminds me if I return it, January 25 is the last day I can return it. Well that doesn't sound promising.

"Do you get a lot of these returned?"

Yes...

Apparently, I don't have the only motor that gives out before the first month. I have a feeling I will seek other means to produce my fresh organic fruit and vegetable juices.

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
