Brent Musburger's Ogle of Miss Alabama Katherine Webb

“You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman. Wow. If you’re a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the back yard with pops!”

These comments have landed Brent Musburger in the dog house. Musburger made the comments about the Alabama quarterback's girlfriend, Miss Alabama Katherine Webb.

What hetero man in America hasn't ogled this beautiful woman. She is obviously the pride of the South, and you know what the Beach Boys said about Southern women.


Well east coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when Im down there

So why is it Musburger is in trouble? Because he still can appreciate a beautiful woman? No, because they say he is a creepy old man. I don't see what was so creepy about his comments. They were in good fun, and let's face it, Katherine Webb is very hot. Those old guys who still call themselves the Beach Boys still sing about young Southern Girls as they can be seen wearing bikinis at Beach Boy concerts even in the Beach Boys' geriatric years, and we don't look at them as creeps. We just sing along.

Let's put this in perspective in 2013. Had the Alabama quarterback been gay, and let's say Musburger spent his entire career hiding in the closet and decided the National Championship game between Notre Dame and Alabama was going to be his coming out party as he ogled the quarterback's boyfriend, could you see the headlines this week?

You would see words like courage, bravery, and other pseudo heroic terms to describe Musburger having the courage to say he was attracted to the way someone looked. That's the double standard of today's world where coming out in courageous but admitting your a American, hormone driven, John Wayne of a man who loves beautiful women appears to be frowned upon.

If you think the sports writers who are picking on Musburger haven't noticed, then you are sadly mistaken. They have all thought about the same thing somewhere in their career, and if they haven't, it's probably because they are on the other team.

It's now wonder why some women are asking...



I think Musburger should be celebrated in showing this manlier side of himself.
