Republicans Begin Softening on Protecting the Second Amendment

The number one job of any politician is to get elected and reelected. This is where you usually discover these men and women have no backbone when it comes to the promises they made to their constituents. As the mainstream media points to guns as the reason an elementary school is in mourning rather than mental illness, psychotropic drugs, and bad parenting, Republicans may be getting ready to come out in favor of an Obama supported assault weapons ban.

Republicans in the House of Representatives discussed the gun issue at their regular closed-door meeting Tuesday, and at least some were willing to consider gun control as part of a solution to the kind of violence that killed 26 people, including 20 children 6 and 7 years old.
