Kansas City Chief Fans Cheer for Jovan Belcher

Scanning social media this afternoon, there is much talk about Jovan Belcher as the Kansas City Chiefs take a rare lead into the half at Arrowhead. As the Cheifs scored their first touchdown, fans were saying that one was for Jovan Belcher, and of course one of the story lines on CBS is the Chiefs are going to rally as a team and produce a rare win for their dead teammate.

Excuse me! This isn't like Derrick Thomas who lost his life in a car crash. This is a man who went and murdered his girlfriend and then created a hell his coach and general manager will have to live with the rest of their lives as Belcher took his life in front of them at the Arrowhead practice facility.

While this story is sad, this isn't something to go dedicating touchdowns over or a win. What Jovan Belcher did was selfish. If he was that miserable in life, he could have received counseling or just taken his life in private. He didn't need to leave his three year old child without a parent.

Obviously, we don't know the details, but please don't go dedicating touchdowns or games to this man. What he did was horrible.

  1. Not to mention killing his girlfriend in front of her mother. How awful!

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
