Jim DeMint Sacrifices Principle to Join Heritage Foundation

Do I consider the Heritage Foundation a conservative defender of the Constitution?

Well let's see here? It was the Heritage Foundation who came up with the basic blueprint of Obama with the idea of a federal mandate for healthcare.

As well the Heritage Foundation has been a defender of the Fourth Amendment killing Patriot Act.

These are two examples of how the Heritage Foundation has become nothing more than a think tank empowering the statists and growing the power and size of the federal government. One would think a man like Jim DeMint would speak out against such a think tank, but millions of dollars speaks volumes for the Senator, who I have often praised as he is leaving the United States Senate to become president of the Heritage Foundation.

Senator Rand Paul calls Jim DeMint an inspiration building the liberty movement in the Senate and growing the Constitutional conservative movement in the Senate. So why leave the Senate to join an obviously progressive think tank disguised as an authority on the Constitution, especially when you consider it was the Heritage Foundation working with the Republican establishment in 1994 to come up with an alternative to Hillarycare who thought it was a good idea to force Americans into healthcare contracts?

It just doesn't make sense to me. DeMint was far more influential in the United States Senate and has helped show other Constitutional conservatives like Rand Paul the ropes so they would be more effective in their first years in the Senate. DeMint's influence is obvious.
