Coffee and Cancer: Max Gerson Was Onto Something
Just over thirty years ago, a long time family friend was given two months to live. She had stage four leukemia and things didn't look good. Rather than give up hope thanks to the American medical system that is restricted under federal regulations that limit cancer treatments to surgery, chemo drugs, and radiation, she went to where real medical freedom exists--Mexico.
The American medical community gave her two months. The medical freedom of Mexico has given her more than 30 years of cancer-free health. That's an amazing fact considering cancer survivors in America often lose in the five year stretch after they care declared cancer free. The cancer usually comes back with a vengeance because the same habits that caused the cancer--like lack of proper nutrition--isn't ever discussed. In American, most doctors have hours upon hours of pharmaceutical studies while getting just a class in nutrition.
I bring this up because Dr. Max Gerson understood cancer only survives in an acidic environment. Cancer can't live and thrive in an alkaline state. Gerson is hated today in the medical community because his simple cancer cure threatens a $200 billion plus industry in the United States that is fueled by Big Pharma. If the cure for cancer was found, an entire sector of the economy would collapse.
In Mexico, doctors are free to practice with alternative cures. In the United States, land of the free, doctors are quite limited in the way they fight cancer.
Gerson Therapy is a combination of fueling the body with nutrients it is being robbed of through our poor diet choices and coffee enemas that remove the toxins from key organs like the liver. The therapy puts the body in a state where cancer is weakened and can't survive, and isn't barbaric like chemo drugs that bring the body close to death in hopes the cancer will die.
Once again we are learning Gerson was really onto something. A new study shows four cups of coffee a day reduces your chance of cancer.
From Natural News:
People who drink four or more cups of caffeinated coffee each day have only half the risk of dying from oral or pharyngeal cancer when compared to those who drink less, according to a new American Cancer Society study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
Prior studies have found that higher levels of coffee consumption are correlated with a lower risk of contracting oral and pharyngeal cancer. For example, a study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention in November found that coffee drinkers (as long as they had fewer than five cups a day) were 39 percent less likely to develop cancer of the mouth or throat than non-coffee drinkers – although the effect was weaker in those who regularly smoked or drank liquor. The researchers noted that scientists have identified more than a thousand natural coffee chemicals that may have cancer-fighting properties.
In the American Cancer Society study, researchers looked for a connection between rates of death from oral or pharyngeal cancer and consumption of tea, caffeinated coffee and decaffeinated coffee. The researchers used data from the Cancer Prevention Study II, a long-term study launched by the society in 1982.
“Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world, and contains a variety of antioxidants, polyphenols, and other biologically active compounds that may help to protect against development or progression of cancers,” lead author Janet Hildebrand said.
Four cups a day, half the risk
The researchers examined 968,432 adults who were cancer-free as of 1982. In the intervening 26 years, 868 of the study’s participants died of mouth or throat cancer. Using this data, the researchers found that people who drank four cups or more of caffeinated coffee each day were 49 percent less likely to die from throat or mouth cancer than people who never drank coffee or only occasionally. In fact, every cup per day that a person consumed significantly decreased the risk of death, even after the researchers corrected for sex, alcohol use or smoking.
