Billy Long on the Fiscal Cliff: Pressure on Long in the 11th Produced Bad Results
Congressman Billy Long, not lot looking much like the 8 Hour Diet is working, gave a rare interview to KOLR. In the interview, Congressman Long stresses he believes a deal will be made in the 11th hour to keep us from going off the imaginary fiscal cliff Washington is using to justify raising taxes. I remind Congressman Long, at over $16 trillion in national debt, which Long's name is now on, combined with over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities in the form of Social Security, Medicare, and other promises, we have long gone over the fiscal cliff.
Here's Billy Long talking about the 11th hour once again without giving us much insight into what is really going on in Washington. When Billy Long talks the 11th hour, Southwest Missouri should get nervous because this is the time with John Beohner twists the easily influenced fed up Congressman and gets Billy to do everything we didn't expect Billy to do.
59 minutes into the 11th hour...
Time to change the subject and talk about all the name calling going on rather than be put on the spot about how I am going to be manipulated by John Boehner, who said the day after Obama was reelected he would consider tax increases.
Congressman Long says what he and his cronies are trying to do is cut spending saying we cannot continue to spend 43% more than we take in daily. You can't disagree with Congressman Billy on this one; however, Billy Long's record is not one that shows Long is serious about cutting spending. Long and the Republicans couldn't even get $100 billion in spending cuts as Long was too worried about the impact on the military that would take place if National Guard decals were removed from Dale Earnhardt Jr's stock car.
Of course, this 11th hour rhetoric has been used by Billy Long before. Long said he was opposed to voting for the debt ceiling, but in the 11th hour, Long sided with Boehner and voted for the largest debt ceiling increase in the history of the United States--$2.4 trillion. Of course this $2.4 trillion was spent in record time which means Billy Long's name is all over the United States plummeting off the fiscal cliff.
So here's Long once again talking about the fiscal cliff, promising us he won't raise taxes. I remind you about that promise to cut spending and not raise the debt ceiling led too.
