Another Sign Ozark High School is Being Careless With Our Money
It's still hard to believe for me that just a couple years ago Ozark High School administrators sat down with teachers at Ozark High School, noting a tight budget, asking them to take a pay cut. This of course was after building an incredible football stadium. Soon, these teachers learned the school was investing thousands of dollars just in the application program of the United Nation's education agenda called the International Baccalaureate, which other communities have noted have cost their districts greatly as dues to the IB and the structure of the IB have raised costs for these schools. Then of course, after asking these teachers to take pay cuts, the school went out and purchased notebook computers for each student in the one to one program.
So as the local newspaper reported how tight administrators claimed their budgets were going to be for the coming years, we have another example of how the Ozark School Board is carelessly spending our tax dollars.
Now, it is important to note here that I have watched these super schools arise in the Chicago suburbs for many years where I used to live. I also watched our property taxes rise considerably as these communities committed to the same path Ozark High School is currently on. If Ozark Schools continue to carelessly spend our tax dollars, you are going to be surprised one day when the county sends you your yearly assessment.
Earlier this year, we learned Dr. Gordon Pace was retiring. Funny how he doesn't want to be responsible for overseeing some of the programs he launched like the United Nation's liberal and anti Christian educational agenda called the International Baccalaureate. So obviously, a search for his replacement was on.
So what does the school board do? They pass off the responsibility of hiring a new superintendent on a high dollar consulting firm. So more tax dollars were spent to hire the MSBA.

Now Ozark High School announced earlier this week who they hired to replace Dr. Pace. It turns out this high-dollar consulting firm didn't have to work too hard to find their candidate as they hired one of Ozark High School's own. The school board sent out the following e-mail:
The Ozark School Board would like to announce Dr. Kevin Patterson will be assuming the position of Superintendent of Schools starting July 1, 2013. Dr. Patterson has served the District since 1987 in a variety of positions. He started his career as a math and computer teacher assuming the extra duties of coaching football, wrestling, and track. Dr. Patterson first served as an administrator in 1996 as Ozark High School Assistant Principal. In 2002 he took over as the Junior High Principal where he served until 2006. Since that time he has served as the Assistant and Associate Superintendent.
Now I don't know about you, but if I were one of these Ozark teachers who were told the budget is so tight and it is in their best interest to take a pay cut, like which happened a couple years ago, I probably wouldn't be too happy about the school board paying out more money to an outside consulting firm to find the newest superintendent, especially when the new superintendent is a long time employee of Ozark High School. The teachers after all are the most important part of the educational equation after all.
For taxpayers, if Ozark School continues to spend, spend, spend, you can expect your taxes to rise just like I witnessed in living in Chicagoland.
