Christian County Missouri Republican Central Committee: Congratulations on a Successful 2012 Election Cycle

When Laura Stilson got home from the Christian County, Missouri, Republican caucus she was frizzled. Her husband had a massive nicotine fit as rage and anger endured at a group of liberty loving Americans who had gathered in hopes of nominating a presidential campaign. Stilson wrote:

The Ron Paulites tried to take over the process by bastardizing Robert Rules of order, objecting to every teeny tiny thing.

Their leader stood up and threaten to take their votes to Obama if the the majority did not respect the Ron paul minority and elect the chosen Ron paul delegates.

Six freakin' hours it lasted. And another tactic they used was to call for a bathroom recess, right after a motion had been seconded to go to vote...since recess took precedent, we had no need to go to the bathroom if you aren't drinking any flippin' beverages.

My hubby was attacked by a major nicotine fit.  It was not pretty and accompanied by much grumbling.

Through it all the moderators kept their cool and bent over backwards for those rowdy Paulites.

The Paulites have their Alinsky down pat and it was obvious they had studied well.

6 freakin' hours looked in the local HS with these maniacs.

Of course video taken at the caucus showed it was these liberty minded "maniacs" who had to remind the moderators of Robert's Rules of Order, and no one ever threatened to take their votes to Obama. The only threat that was made as this group of Republican establishment tried to silence the Paul supporters was by Melissa Wagner who stood up and reminded the establishment one day in the autumn they will call upon us for our votes for the Republican candidate.

Ronald Reagan once said the "heart of conservatism is libertarianism". These days the Republican establishment has moved so far to the left of Ronald Reagan. This same group of Republicans that ran the caucus took out an ad against these liberty minded Republicans accusing them of hijacking the party the progressives hijacked from Reagan and Goldwater, which is how we got the gun grabbing, abortion supporting, Obamacare inspiring Mitt Romney.

The Republican party remained divided into the convention. Requests from Paul Ryan did little to patch up the damage the Republican establishment did in places like Christian County, Missouri. Even Rand Paul making a questionable endorsement of Romney wasn't enough to build a bridge between the liberty minded republicans and the more progressive big government republicans. The Republican establishment mocked the liberty minded little 'r' republicans for standing up for sound money, less war, less government, and major cuts in spending, something Republican Calvin Coolidge would have embraced.

So the convention came and went. Rather than build bridges and include these liberty minded voters, the establishment went out of their way to further alienate them. Despite winning multiple states, Ron Paul wasn't allowed to speak, but Clint Eastwood got to speak to an empty chair on national television. Ron Paul delegates weren't given any respect although they fairly won their primaries and caucuses.

Then there was Rule 16 at the convention.

The arrogance of Republicans from the smallest county caucus like I attended in Christian County all the way up to the national convention was hilighted by arrogance. Republicans must have thought they couldn't lose against Obama, and they didn't need the liberty minded little 'r' republicans. They snubbed us. We didn't matter. They didn't want us involved in any of this process.

And the results?

Well Mrs. Stilson, let me be the first to congratulate you on your actions and the Republican establishment's actions that led to four more years of Obama. It seems quite dangerous to me that you and the Republican establishment needed to insult liberty minded Americans as nothing more than "maniacs". This insanity clearly alienated voters who wanted nothing more than to have a voice in the process and the case can be made Mitt Romney felt the pain on Tuesday night from the arrogance of county committees like Christian County's, whose job it is to promote the party to ensure victory. Your arrogance led to the divide in the GOP, and it was easy to predict Obama was the winner long before Tuesday night based on the division in the party combined with the fact the Republicans nominated a liberal who on paper didn't offer much difference over Obama.
