We Now Know Why Jesse Benton Threw Ron Paul Under the Bus: Mitch McConnell

Do you remember a few weeks ago at Paul Fest just before the Republican National Convention how Ron Paul's campaign manager threw Ron Paul and his supporters under the bus?

SiriusXM Patriot talk show Mike Church was at Paul Fest and explains what took place.

Right before I was introduced at PaulFest, Peter Schiff shows up. He was scheduled to go on two speakers after me. I gave a shout out to Peter, “Hey, Peter.” He kind of looked at me like I was a space alien. I walked over to him, very excited to meet him, “Mike Church, Sirius XM Radio.” He kind of went, “Yeah, yeah,” like I don’t know what you’re talking about, dude, let go of my hand. That’s really what it was like. Then I find out after I give my speech, I go ahead and leave. I find out that after my departure, Peter bails on his speaking engagement at PaulFest. There is a video on YouTube that at least provides some details on why that happened. Apparently Peter received a phone call or a text message from Ron Paul’s grandson-in-law Jesse Benton, who is a Paul campaign manager, telling him that he shouldn’t be associated with these people, that they were a fringe element and some people involved in it were bad news.

Shortly after I spoke to the warm crowd at PaulFest, Peter Schiff, who was in the wings as I exited, received a text message from Paul Campaign mgr Jesse Benton urging him to bail on his speech to avoid the "fringe elements" and people that "are bad news". Is this how the RP Revolution goes out, throwing supporters under the bus?

I haven't met too many campaign managers and consultants that I didn't feel were complete scum. Jesse Benton fits the mold even though I have never met him. We just learned that Benton distanced himself from Ron Paul by throwing his supporters under the bus so he could become part of the big government Republican establishment.

Tom Woods writes of where Benton wound up at after the incident at Paul Fest.

Ron Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton is going to head up the campaign of Mitch McConnell. Gee, now why did those incorrigible naysayers have so many unkind words for him?

People who said Benton was positioning himself all along for bigger things in the GOP were scoffed at. Why, Jesse has a secret plan to get Ron Paul the nomination at the last minute!

Well, now we know the real secret plan.

Ask yourself this: how much money would you have to be paid to work for an enemy of the things you’re supposed to stand for? Maybe now people will understand why Jesse would fly into a tirade after some of Ron’s most heroic moments, when the rest of us were cheering.

I could go through a lengthy catalogue of problems with Benton. The grassroots folks already know a lot of them, so there’s probably no need. What’s done is done.

Another shining example of how these political consultants sell out for their own self promotion, power, and money. Too many of these consultants give a Judas kiss to the Constitution, and Benton just became the poster boy of that movement. The sad think is Benton did it to family. What a scum bag!
