Romney Continues to Embrace Obamacare as Election Draws Nearer
Mitt Romney has Mitt for brains. For him to win in November, the conservative base must be energized and come out in full support on election day. Yet Romney continues to give voters reasons to stay home or look at other candidates.
Let's take a look at one of the most controversial new laws to come into effect since Obama took office. It seems the Republicans would want to distance themselves from Obamacare and only talk repeal. For the past two years, I have noticed Republicans are slowly complimenting Obama's biggest achievement while in office. I first noticed this with Republican Billy Long, a Congressman from Southwest Missouri. Even before he was elected he was saying "there's lots of good things about the healthcare bill."
With the election just over six weeks away and a need to boot Obama out of office and into retirement, one would think the last thing you would want to do is provide any positive comments about Obamacare, an unpopular healthcare bill that gives the federal government great unconstitutional powers of citizens and companies. Leave it to Mitt for Brains to screw this one up.
Over the past two weeks, it's becoming harder to believe the Republicans actually want to repeal this monstrosity of a law. It's getting harder because their nominee Mitt Romney continues to say nice things about it rather than give us any indication he seriously wants to get rid of it. Remember, there is power and money in Obamacare for both parties, and let's not forget last week Republicans agreed to take the national debt off the table for the election by agreeing to another $1.047 trillion debt ceiling increase that also funds Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, and even ensures Sandra Fluke can get laid and not have to worry about the consequences.
Here's Romney from two weeks ago telling America he wants to keep some of the main mandates in Obamacare.
Then this week, Romney says it's a compliment to be called the grandfather of Obamacare. Of course it was the Republican and The Heritage Foundation's alternative to Hillarycare from 1994 that became Romneycare that became Obamacare.
It just seems to me, if you were serious about repealing Obamacare and winning this presidential election with the intent of repealing Obamacare, you would be campaigning harder against it rather than complimenting it every time you turn around these days. Perhaps, the Republicans don't want to repeal it. Perhaps they want it to remain in effect but have room to blame the Democrats.
Wanna bet within the next 10 to 20 years the Democrats will move more socialist on healthcare as Obamacare fails while the Republicans announce plans to save Obamacare?
