Mitt Romney Flip Flops on Ben Bernanke
Mitt Romney finally has come to his smarts about Ben Bernanke. Of course the way Romney flip flops, you never really can tell why he is doing something. I figure its for some kind of political gain.
There was a time not to long ago Mitt Romney felt the job Ben Bernanke was doing at crashing the value your savings, your assets, your 401K and other investments was alright with him.
So we shouldn't be surprised Romney is now saying Bernanke needs to go.
The Politico reports:
Mitt Romney says he would fire him. A South Carolina state senator recently called him a “traitor” bent on “rotting out our republic.” Angry House Republicans say he’s making a power grab on powers the Constitution gives to Congress.
Sounds like the kind of righteous conservative anger usually aimed at President Barack Obama. But it’s not.
Conservative anger at Washington more and more is raining down on a new target: Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a mild-mannered professor, baseball fan and native South Carolinian whose most controversial decision before taking over at the central bank under President George W. Bush was deciding what kind of bagels to serve at Princeton economics department meetings.
So is it personal convictions that led Romney to this conclusion or is it he is losing the election and doesn't want to risk losing anymore conservative votes while hoping to pick up some Ron Paul voters along the way. The way Romney flip flops, I highly doubt it's conviction.
It's a shame Romney doesn't understand American history enough to understand founders like Thomas Jefferson fought against the idea of a central bank knowing the dangers of a central bank.
I would actually consider voting for Romney if he would stand up for the Constitution and return monetary policy back to the Congress and away from the central bankers.
