Walmart Begins Pushing Local Products in Effort to Improve Image

You might remember when Sam Walton was alive how proud he was to have an influence on creating American jobs. Once upon a time when you walked into a Walmart, you would see signs noting products in Walmart that were made in the USA thanks to a partnership with the retailer and how many jobs were crated with that joint effort. Then Sam died and things changed.

Well it appears Walmart is pushing for that local pride job creation again.

Walmart China firmly believes in local sourcing. We have established partnerships with nearly 20,000 suppliers in China. More than 95 percent of the merchandise in our stores is sourced locally.


Sad how things change. I wonder what Sam would think?
