Tom Stilson's a Ticket For More War, More Dead Americans
Tom Stilson is making statements that are far from Constitutional despite claiming the Constitution is the foundation of his political values. Stilson made the naive and dangerous statement, "If you mess with Israel, you're messing with the United States of America."
Mr. Stilson, are you aware of how many times the Israelis have been caught spying on the United States? Are you aware the Israeli military is the only military in the Middle East to launch an attack on the United States (see the USS Liberty 1967)? 34 Americans were killed and 174 others were wounded by Israel during the attack despite the ship being easily identified as an American ship.
I think this comment "If you mess with Israel, you're messing the the United States of America" is dangerous neocon rhetoric that takes no account into the use of our military from a Constitutional perspective, which is for a "common defense".
We are $16 trillion in debt, and it appears to me Stilson will be a free ticket for the Israelis to receive more American aid based on his comments. We can just borrow it from the Chinese and hand it over to the Israelis, who by the way are more than capable of taking care of themselves whether it be financially or militarily. Of course, Stilson admits on his Web site he was brought up inspired in the neocon school of thought by Karl Rove, which is war is good for the economy (and good for the coffin industry), so fighting Israel's battles should be a priority.
Our priority should be following the Constitution--it should be getting a runaway national debt under control--not handing out billions more in foreign aid even to Israel. Stilson's words get the industrial military complex's wheels turning. There is huge money in war, so we prepare to fight Israel's battles despite being a broke nation on words like Stilson that have no Constitutional value. Israel isn't the 51st state Mr. Stilson. They are their own sovereign state whose bad decisions shouldn't cost American servicemen their lives.
My strongest ally, ladies and gentlemen, as a citizen of the State of Missouri, is the State of Texas. That is my strongest ally. My strongest allies are my friends in the State of Mississippi. My strongest allies are my friends in the State of Arkansas and the State of Florida and the State of Georgia and the State of South Carolina. Those are my allies. I am bonded and wedded to them currently by this document called The Constitution. I am not bonded and wedded to any other foreign land on the face of this Earth.
Mr. Stilson, you have learned well young Padawan from Master Rove, who most surely influenced George W. Bush's words of absolute commitment without questioning your government as America shifted from this idea of "common defense" to the Bush Doctrine that allowed America to be the aggressor and create wars, something our foudnding fathers warned against.
Such absolute statements whether they be Bush's "you are either with us or against us" or Stilson's "If you mess with Israel, you're messing with the United States of America" leave out an important debate. Is it Constitutional. We are not bonded Constitutionally to any foreign government, and yet your statement claims that we are.
Mr. Stilson, Israel is its own sovereign state that often does things against the better interest of the United States. Your comments are absolute and naive and prove once again you don't have the maturity for this job, which is why I would rather vote for Billy Long than put my trust in your immaturity to do the right thing. Of course I will do neither because Mike Moon puts the Constitution first before party and foreign alliances.
Surely as a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the great football institution called Ozark High School, you do realize the fall of all the great societies has been the over extension and costs surrounding the use of their armies expanded far beyond their boarders, Mr. Stilson. It's one of the easiest lessons in history to see. It sort of jumps off the pages at you.
