Tera Sukman Upset She Couldn't Buy the Taney County Republican Caucus
Tera Sukman says she supports the Constitution. She says that, but once again we see Sukman supporting big government over the Constitution as she plans to challenge the results of the Taney County Caucus last Saturday.
Sukman who owns the once for profit Tea Party Patriot HQ appears to have tried to buy the caucus and lost. Now it appears she wants a return for her dollars. Branson Tri-Lakes News reports:
But Tera Sukman, director of Tea Party HQ, expected the Paul contingent to be strong and said she spent $1,000 advertising and encouraging registered voters to attend. At least 240 were in attendance at one point Saturday.
Of course it's hard to forget her advertising message, which she also sent out in e-mails:
From: Tea Party Patriot HQ
Subject: Taney County Caucus March 17th

Tera is obviously confused about who the Constitutional candidate is--Ron Paul, and the other three who have pushed unconstitutional and big government, whether it be Romney supporting abortion, gun control, green energy initiatives similar to Obama's, forced Catholic Hospitals of Massachusetts to administer abortion pills, and of course Romneycare. Then there is Santorum who voted for five debt ceiling increases, expanded Medicare, gave the federal government more control of your education, and was placed on the most corrupt members of Congress list twice. Finally there is Newt, whose record of big unconstitutional government includes programs like SCHIPS and working with the Heritage Foundation in 1994 came up with what we now know as Obamacare as an alternative to Hillarycare.
Tera isn't going to let her $1000 go to waste. In fact, she is going to challenge the will of the people on Taney County who spoke loudly Saturday and defeated the Tea Party Patriot HQ slate of delegates.
Sukman, who doesn’t support Paul, said she and the central committee are contesting the caucus’s results. She plans to send a letter to Missouri GOP chairman David Cole that details a number of Kershaw’s procedures she questions, including his insistence that presidential candidates not be discussed — though he had been echoed in that ruling by others.
In a few paragraphs just above the time we discover Sukman plans to challenge a caucus she failed to buy, we learn rather than spending money to buy a caucus, the Ron Paul supporters volunteered their time in an effort to prepare for the caucus.
According to Behm-Drummond, the Paul supporters spent months learning Robert’s Rules of Order and GOP protocol. She said a group of about 30 or 40 people met numerous times to plan for Saturday, even inviting speakers to educate them about the caucus process.
The training came in handy, as many — on both sides — said Saturday was their first caucus.
Behm-Drummond said her group traveled to Springfield two weeks ago to see Paul speak, where they met other supporters from Taney County that joined their efforts at the caucus.
“We didn’t realize until then how many Taney County patriots we have down here,” Behm-Drummond said. “I think Saturday was a great, positive sign that a lot of people do support (Paul’s) views.”
So we have Tera Sukman claiming to a patriot, but proving she believes big money is the way to win elections, and we have a group of Taney County Patriots, well versed in the Constitution, Robert's Rules of Order, and ready for the caucus. It really is a dichotomy between Sukman claiming to be a patriot waving her money around town and the other group claiming to be patriots taking the time to prepare through a true grassroots movement.
Of course Sukman doesn't know anything about grassroots. She has always been astroturf.

Preparing for a caucus rather than trying to buy one - what a concept. The nerve of the Paulians!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your efforts for liberty!
~ Steve Maxwell - privileged to be a Taney County delegate.
Posted today by Ms. Sukman on the HQ's Facebook page: "It has taken me 16 Hours to read and understand the Rles of the Caucus. I have just written a letter of Challenge in that time and sent to Chairman David Cole, Missouri Republican Party, 105 E High ST, jefferson City, Missouri 65101. If you have a complaint about saturdays Caucus or the Fact your Vote didn't Count. Let your Voice be Heard. Hand Write and Mail. That's All that counts. Calling will tie up Lines, which will help. Emails are OK but if you want to make your Point, write a letter and put your name on it"
ReplyDeleteMost people read the Rles before a Caucus. Not Tera, she reads the Rles after.
(Rles spelled just like Tera spelled it on Facebook)
