Republicans Handed Obama a Victory in the Debt Debate

The Reaganite Conservative posted the above political cartoon in their collection of Sunday Funnies. It's a sad but true perspective about Republican politics in 2012. They gave away the ranch and they will pay come November.

The cartoon shows a pachyderm too afraid to challenge Obama on the debt. The truth is, the Republicans can't challenge Obama on the debt. Thanks to the John Boehner Congress and members like the Tea Party Turncoat Billy Long who voted to raise the debt ceiling while getting minimal spending cuts in return, they took the debt debate off the table in 2012 as they passed the largest debt ceiling increase in history--paving the way for $2.4 trillion more in deficit spending.

It's no wonder you don't hear the words "national debt" inflamed against Obama. The Republicans don't want to remind voters they had a hand in this too. So as the national debt crushes what is left of our Republic, all Republicans have are social issues to convince voters they are more worthy than Obama. How sad is that!

Neither party has proven serious about reducing spending and lessening this burden. They just plan to pass it off to the next generation of Americans.
