Vermont Residents Will Soon Buy Their Cigarettes in Neighboring New Hampshire
Vermont and New Hampshire are small states. For many residents the border with each state isn't that far away. So it will be interesting to watch how cigarette taxes soon affect the behavior of residents of these two states. I bet you didn't know that in some states, you are supposed to declare if you bring cigarettes across the state line. Of course, this rarely happens, but the law requires you too so the state gets its share of sin tax if you you stockpile cigarettes from other states that charge less in taxes.
With that said, Vermont is raising their cigarette tax and the "Live Free or Die" state is lowering their cigarette taxes. Wanna bet cigarette sales in New Hampshire climb while they fall in Vermont. Want to take this bet further and see which state actually increases its tax revenue from cigarettes and which one loses revenue? My bet is New Hampshire will make more by lowering it as people from neighboring Vermont will purchase more cigarettes across the state line.
Vermont is raising the tax by 38 cents. New Hampshire is lowering it by 10 cents. Having lived in Chicago, I watched residents of Chicago drive out to the burbs to avoid Chicago's higher sales tax on larger goods like appliances. That appears to be what happens in New Hampshire from states that border that have higher tax rates.
The NH Journal writes:
The dual moves could prove a boon for New Hampshire businesses, which already do a steady trade in selling goods taxed heavily by other states to residents of neighboring states who drive across the border to stock up. Now, Vermonters may have an added reason to do so, and New Hampshire grocery and convenience stores hope to clean up.

Ever Noticed How Unfree You Are on the Fourth of July: Fireworks Bans Infringe Upon the Founding Father's Vision
I have been watching a documentary series called The Revolution. It's a 13 part series that gives the specifics about the American Revolution, and it's currently available for streaming on Netflix.
In the revolution, they discuss the Founder's vision for the Fourth of July. In that vision were fireworks. Yes the Fourth of July is to be set aside as day to celebrate with fireworks according the Founding Fathers. It's part of the tradition they established, and yet in so many areas of the country fireworks are illegal.
I lived in Chicago for nearly 15 years. Fireworks there are a symbol of the police state. It's not that fireworks aren't shot off, because they are. In fact, my buddy Tom was nearly hit by a crazy Middle Eastern man with a turban shooting off a rocket. Someone should have called DHS. True story, and we still laugh about it today considering.
For the most part, throughout all of Illinois, fireworks are contraband. The police state works to ensure the least amount of fireworks are smuggled into the state.
Now you can buy some small poppers and sparklers in Illinois, but anything bigger, you have to go to Indiana or other bordering states. This is where it gets interesting. Illinois State Police have been known to work undercover tracking Illinois license plates whose owners purchase fireworks and head back west into Illinois. When they cross the state line they are pulled over and the fireworks are confiscated as if they were cocaine.
I doubt this is what the Founding Father's envisioned.
I have spending some time in Ohio working on my car adding performance parts to it to make it fun to drive again. It's amazing how cheaply you can do this when you have a friend that knows what he is doing. As I drive in Ohio, I noticed you don't see fireworks stands like you see in Missouri. So I asked someone if you can buy fireworks in Ohio. The answer is yes, but you have to purchase them with the promise you will not shoot them off within the state of Ohio. Interesting. Obviously the state collects its taxes on the sale and then forces most people out of the state to shoot them off.
Of course, this is just another fireworks law that conflicts with the vision of the Founders for this great day to celebrate independence from King George and England. Isn't it ironic that on this great day that we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, fireworks regulations prevent us from celebrating the way the signers wanted us to celebrate. It really is another symbol of just how little freedom we truly have these days.
Ryan Newman Running Bass Pro Shops For Daytona
Here's a hometown for connection. My favorite NASCAR driver will be sporting Bass Pro Shops as his sponsor at Daytona this Saturday night. Jamie McMurray is the main BPS driver, but Johnny Morris has maintained his relationship with Tony Stewart and it appears Ryan Newman, who is one heck of an angler, will be pushing Bass Pro Shops. Hopefully Ryan will be making the trek to Springfield sometime soon.
Blonde Bimbo Sarah Steelman the Economist Makes a Major Math Gaffe
Steelman talks about her real job as an economist.
Sarah Steelman is an economics professor. She appears to have a problem with some basic mathematics when it comes to doing math with dollar signs. In a plea to supporters to raise money to defeat Claire McCaskill, Steelman begs, "I need your help TODAY to defeat McCaskill! I need 1000 friends to contribute $100 each to raise $10,000 by midnight tonight. That will send a strong message to McCaskill to STOP THE MADNESS."
Now I am no math genius. I actually had to sneak a graphic calculator to my MTH135 college algebra course at Southwest Missouri State. I didn't get a degree in anything that had to deal with lots of numbers like economics. But I am pretty sure that totals $100,000 and not $10,000.
Oh Sarah... I'd bet even redneck Congressman Billy would get that math problem right.
And how do you keep a free market free?
Something tells me Claire is laughing and Todd Akin is preparing for November. It's no wonder KMOX exclaimed Sarah Steelman isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Timothy Geithner Going to Resign After Debt Ceiling Debate
Another one bites the dust. This time the most qualified in the history of all qualified men to serve as treasury secretary (not really)--tax cheat Timothy Geithner. Bloomberg reports Geithner, who has been pretty much a failure, is tired of government.
Hans Nichols: "Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner has signaled to White House officials that he's considering leaving the administration after President Barack Obama reaches an agreement with Congress to raise the national debt limit, according to three people familiar with the matter. Geithner hasn't made a final decision and won't do so until the debt ceiling issue has been resolved, according to one of the people. All spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private discussions...Geithner, 49, has told associates that he needs a break from government service after dealing with the turmoil that followed the collapse of Wall Street firms including Bear Stearns Cos. and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., first as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and then as Obama's treasury secretary. Family considerations also are playing a role in Geithner's deliberations, according to the people. His son has decided to finish his final year of high school in New York."

While the TSA Interrogate a Diaper Off 95 Year Old Woman, Nigerian With Fake ID Gets Past TSA Thugs
The crackpot team of airport security known as the TSA once again show how low the intelligence quotient is to wear the TSA uniform. After taking heat for interrogating the diaper off a 95 year old wheelchair held woman with cancer, the TSA let a Nigerian man with a fake ID board a plane.
Investigators say Olajide Oluwaseun Noibi, a Nigerian, boarded Virgin America Flight 415 to Los Angeles without a valid passport or identification, using an expired boarding pass for a flight the day before that belonged to someone else.
Oh, the illusion of safety, and stupid Americans are willing to give up their rights and their dignity to allow the idiots at the TSA to make them feel safer! How pathetic!
Officials say Noibi got through security and was able to board the plane. No one noticed until the flight was airborne when a flight attendant realized Noibi was sitting in a seat that was supposed to be vacant.
He showed the attendant the expired boarding pass that was in someone else’s name and then showed a University of Michigan identification card with his picture on it.
Once again, the TSA isn't about keeping you safe. It's about conditioning you to accept your loss of rights.

Dick Durbin Ignores Constitutional Requirement for President in Dream Act Debate
One has to wonder if we have an illegal alien as president now, considering the controversy and conflicting tales of Obama and his Kenya family. It should be no surprise the senior Senator from Illinois is further muddying the water.
Ignoring the obviously requirements for President the Constitution states, Senator Dick Durbin says something alarming in a debate about illegal aliens and the Dream Act.
After using illegal immigrants as props to push the DREAM Act, Sen. Durbin (D-IL) made the following statement at a Senate committee hearing:
"When I look around this room, I see America's future. Our doctors, our teachers, our nurses, our engineers, our scientists, our soldiers, our Congressman, our Senators and maybe our President."
Of course, the Constitution this dolt took an oath to protect and defend states otherwise.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Bubba Clinton Prepares to Upstage Obama on Debt Issue
You knew this was coming. Bill Clinton wasn't going to let Obama keep the reigns for long without stepping in to work on his legacy. The former, disgraced president says he has a plan to deal with the debt ceiling. Considering Clinton was much better on the economy than Obama, Obama should listen, but he probably won't. (This is not saying Clinton was great on the economy either.)
"If they [the Republicans] said, look, that now is not the time for big tax increases to harm the recovery, they would be right," Clinton told ABC News in an exclusive interview at the Clinton Global Initiative America conference in Chicago. "But it's also right to say that now's not the time for big spending cuts.
"What I'd like to see them do is agree on the outlines of a 10-year plan and agree not to start either the revenue hikes or the spending cuts until we've got this recovery underway," Clinton added. "The confidence that the Republicans say would be given to investors with a budget plan, they'd get whether we started this year or next year or the year after that, for that matter."
"We've got to get the jobs back in this economy again," Clinton said. "The more people we get going back to work, the more businesses we start, that'll bring up the revenue flow, and it will cut down on the expenses. Then, we'll see what the real dimensions of our problem are."
While I disagree with Clinton on the spending cuts, because there is so much pork that needs to go in Washington, he is taking a page from Reagan that in that now is not the time to raise taxes and creating an environment that creates jobs means more people are paying into the tax base, thus it increases. This is better than what Obama is proposing as he has mentioned the ability of new taxes on the rich and on big oil, which of course would be passed on to the poor.
Of course, the taxes too would create a climate that would not benefit job growth. Bubba isn't totally wrong with this one. If you could only convince him to cut spending, he wouldn't have a bad plan.
Of course, you know Obama wants him to go away. Considering Obama's low approval numbers, Democrats may look back to the man they pushed away just three years ago, and Obama doesn't want to share his presidency. This could get interesting.

Billy Long's "They Took Me Out of Context" Excuse Goes Back to Dave Cantanese and a Crying Towel
Before Dave Cantanese left KY3 for the Politico, he wrote some sharp words in regards to now Congressman Billy Long.
But throughout his humorous and off-the-cuff repertoire, Long has a tendency to make some statements that could come back to haunt him. He mocked the plight of the uninsured ("Get out the crying towel") and claimed that 26 million people under 35 probably don't want health insurance anyway. Claiming that President Obama's healthcare plan might have taken his mother's life back in March of 2008 is also quite a strong charge. It's all done in the loving-aw-shucks Long way...those statements may rub some the wrong way.
As someone else who looks at what Billy Long says and analyzes it with his actions, myself and others have written sharp words criticizing what Congressman Billy Long says about issues, government, and other miscellaneous occasions. For the simple act of trying to hold a politician accountable, it is often met with the following words.
"He took me out of context." "He misquoted me."
See 4:45 in the video.
Well a couple quotes have come back to haunt Billy Long since the Joplin tornado. One of course is the "crying towel" quote that Cantanese wrote of and the other is a tweet in which Congressman Long mocked tornado drills.
Long made the World's Worst Person list through both of these quotes:
Wanna bet that if somebody in the local media had the balls to ask Billy Long about the tweet mocking tornado drills, Long would claim it was taken out of context?
I say this, because as I was looking up information about Billy Long's crying towel today, I found this interesting comment on the KY3 Political Notebook, which Long accuses Dave Cantanese of taking his controversial "crying towel" statement out of context.
Billy Long: Robert if you don't agree with me or my position I respect that but the quote you used was inaccurate and there is no context. During a speech I said "Now let's talk about the 47 million that are uninsured - get out your crying towel here" Note: I did not say "those without insurance can get out their crying towels" - I then said of the 47 million without health insurance 10.7 million are illegal aliens (the President is now using a figure of 36 million as he has dropped the illegals), 10 million earn in excess of $75,000 a year - thinking if they wanted insurance they could buy it, and 22 million are under 35 years old - most of whom think they're 10' tall - bullet proof and are going to live to be 112 - thinking most of them don't get insurance because they don't think they need it. We do need healthcare reform including Ins. Companies going back to covering pre-existing conditions. If my choice or words was poor I apoligize - but during a speech I was making a point that before we feel bad about not covering illegals, people making good money but choose not the buy insurance and those that don't feel they need coverage do to their age we need to know who makes up the bulk of our uninsured.
Obviously, there was a context as written by David Catanese (noted above), who Billy Long occasionally butters up to for good press including noted dinners together on Twitter. Catanese is not the only major news hound that has been seen with dinner with Billy Long. Before the controversial Eckersley commercial was released, Long was seen with some major local players at lunch. That's another story, only related because the press doesn't seem to want to hold Long accountable for his words.
It just seems when Long says something stupid and controversial he quickly pulls out his own political crying towel whining that he has been taken out of context. He did it to David Cantanese long before a group of bloggers figured out Congressman Long was full of caca.
Billy Long Not Fed Up With Liberal Attacks on Our Values: Still Absent as the United Nations Infiltrate Ozark High School With Globalist Anti-American Indoctrination
The Ozark School District is on the fast track to begin indoctrination of its students with the United Nation's radical arm known as UNESCO's International Baccalaureate (IB). The IB promotes Marxist ideas like the redistribution of wealth, radical environmentalism, denouncing Constitutional rights and Christianity, while pushing for global government by teaching students to become good "globalists." Master Sgt. Ronnie White (ret) who now teaches JROTC at Ozark High Schools contacted Billy Long's office earlier today in hopes Congressman Long would live up to his promises of promoting Southwest Missouri conservative values constitutional ideas in hopes he would show some leadership to help expose the IB agenda.
White wrote the following letter to Congressman Long:
Congressman Billy Long April 3, 2011
I understand being a new person in Congress is a very busy time but this is my second email on this subject. I hope to receive a response.
I want to bring to your attention a program that is spreading across Missouri and the Nation. It is known as the International Baccalaureate Program or IB. Please become informed about this program, it is not what administrators and supporters of the program say it is. This program will show up unannounced at a board meeting.
Let me introduce myself and tell you about my experience. My Name is Ronnie L White, Master Sergeant, Retired, United States Army (21 years Active Duty Service). I am currently a Junior ROTC Instructor at Ozark High School, Ozark, MO
On September 16th 2010 at the monthly school board meeting, our high school principal Dr. Sam Taylor presented a short briefing to the school board about the IB program. He stated he thought it would be a great program for the top tier students at the high school to better prepare these students for college and it would cost considerable money.
At this same meeting under new business the board made a motion to apply for the program, it was seconded and the board voted 7/0 to apply for the program. No discussion, no input from the public, and very little input from the teachers. This vote came after the district had cut teachers pay ($5000.00 in most cases) at the end of the 2009-10 school year and placed a hiring freeze for this school year.
All activity funds were returned to the district and all of this due to the cut in State funding. I found it odd that we would want to spend money on an International curriculum. So I asked about the program. The Superintendent referred me to Dr. Taylor who told me it was a program to help our top students to be better prepared for college. I asked how much it would cost and he had no estimate at that time.
So I started my research. I went to IBO.org and found that it was going to cost $9,500 just to pay the first part of the application (Application A.) Then if approved (which no school has ever been turned down) $4000 for an IB consultant. Then another $9,500 for Application B. We also have to hire a full time IB coordinator at $40,000 a year and we must pay $10,000 annually to be a member of the IBO. This angered me. I also found out that IBO required a feasibility study before the application was submitted. That did not happen and when the school board was asked about this issue they knew nothing of it. The school board even admits that it formed no formal committee to investigate this program. They want it, they will get it! Even though it will cost the taxpayers upwards of six figures annually for approximately 10 to 15 students!
A little history about IB. The IBO officially formed in 1968 to serve the children of United Nations diplomats who traveled around the globe and were in need of a recognizable standard for admission into Universities. According to former IBO Director General George Walker, the intellectual process which would culminate in the IB Diploma Program was begun by Marie-Therese Maurette in 1948 when she wrote a paper for UNESCO (United Nations Education Science and Cultural Organization) called "Ways for educating for peace: do they exist?" Maurette had outlined a program and pedagogy, which included the following elements:
* Geography should be taught starting not with the student's country or origin but with the whole world.
• History should not be taught before the age of 12 to avoid it becoming a catalogue of national heroes and patriotic celebrations. When introduced it must be world history.
• Each week there should be an hour's lesson of "national culture" taught to classes divided into small national groups, but this will be deliberately subordinated to international geography and history.
• Promotion of bilinguals.
• Regular debates should encourage students to think about world affairs.
• Students should be required to take part in sports, community service and in the life of the school.
According to Ian Hill, Deputy Director General of IBO, "The primary goal of IBO is the promotion of world citizenship"
Time and space will not allow me to tell everything I have learned about this International takeover of our public school system, but I do want to share with you a very important link for you to start your research, If you find this to be important. Please visit www.truthaboutib.com
Lisa McLoughlin established this web site through her dealings with IB within her school district. She also has links to pro IB information. I ask you as my Representative to research this subject. If you feel as I do that this is an un-American curriculum and an attempt by progressives to indoctrinate our children to the; United Nations Human Rights Agenda, the Earth Charter, Agenda 21, and Secular Humanism. Then I would ask you to put a stop to the promotion and funding of IB at the National level and speak out against it in the 7th District. Let school boards in the 7th District know that you do not support such internationally controlled programs in Missouri!
If you would like to be added to my email list "Doubt IB" to keep track of the events here in Ozark please let me know via email. We need to stop this United Nations Take over of our public school system.

Long replied to MSG White's letter failing to take a stand despite making all sorts of promises including the promise to stand up for Southwest Missouri values. Clearly redistribution of wealth, radical left-wing environmentalism, and attacks on the Second Amendment in the backyard of Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is not the values we share in Southwest Missouri. By the way, it should be noted other opponents of IB who sent Congressman Long a letter expressing their IB concerns were sent the same form letter that MSG White received.
Dear MSG White,
Thank you for contacting me regarding education and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). I appreciate the benefit of your views.
The IBO was founded in 1968 to offer educational opportunities across international borders. The program encourages international-mindedness through the promotion of secondary language development, positive attitudes toward learning, and stresses the need for children to develop research, critical thinking, and reflection skills. IBO reaches around 930,000 students in 141 nations.
America's education system does not currently meet the standards that we demand and expect for our children. Our schools should be developing young minds in foundational disciplines such as mathematics, science, English, and history. These areas of learning are important for a child's future happiness by allowing them to successfully integrate as a productive member of society. Our schools should promote our unique American culture which unites us all on the basis of a shared ideology of personal liberty, economic freedom, and equality before the law. America's children should be able to stand firmly on the traditions and knowledge of our past as they shape a bright future for our nation.
However, I also believe that control over our children's education should be in the hands of local parents and teachers. A one-size fits all education program handed down by federal bureaucrats or Congressional decree will never succeed in providing the kind of education that our children need. The educational needs of a child in the Missouri's Seventh District are not the same as the needs of a child in New York or California. Whether IBO's curriculum is taught in our local schools is an issue that should be left up to the local School Board and individual parents, not Members of Congress.
Again, thank you for contacting me on this issue. Hearing the views of all Missourians gives me the opportunity to better understand how important issues could impact the people of our state and the future interests of the nation. I will closely monitor this issue if it comes before the U.S. House of Representative and in that context your views are very helpful.
For additional information regarding current legislation and my representation of the Seventh District, I invite you to visit my website at http://www.long.house.gov.
Sincerely,
Billy Long

MSG White, who gave over 20 years of service to this country in the United States Army was less than impressed with Long's response. So he replied to the Congressman Long's response.

Representative Billy Long,
This letter is addressed to Representative Long. It is my hope that his staff places it in his hands to read. I can not I appreciate your response to my contacting you about the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Why you ask? Because your response was a form letter or automatic response on the subject that you also sent to another 7th District Constituent, Mr. Rod Hunt. I would prefer that you address my concerns personally, as my Representative. If you can not do so, then simply inform me that you have no time for my concern or me. At least that would be honest, instead of trying to play both sides of the fence. Let me explain what I mean by playing both sides of the fence.
In the first paragraph you try to inform me as to what the IBO is all about! A little presumptuous on your part, seeing how I have been researching IB for sometime now and you and your staff probably had never heard of the program until I contacted you. The first paragraph is right out of the IBO playbook for supporters of the program. So from this paragraph I ascertain that you believe IB is a fine program for American Schools if that is what parents and teachers want no matter the cost or the ideology.
In the second paragraph you state that “America’s education system does not currently meet the standards that we demand and expect of our children.” First of all who is “we?” I must assume you mean Congress. Which standards are not being met Federal, State, Local? Ozark High School’s Annual Yearly Performance evaluation (State Standards) for School Year ending 2010 accomplished the following:
* 94.5 % attendance
* 92 % graduation rate, State average 85.7 %
* 0.7 % drop out rate
* 39.7 % of graduating seniors entered a 4 year college
* 31.1 % of graduating seniors entered a 2 year college
* 87.7 % placement of career-technical education students
* 23.9 was the composite ACT score, with 50.4 % of graduates taking the ACT
The Annual Proficiency Target in Communication Arts was set by the State at 67.4; Ozark High School exceeded that with their proficiency rating of 80.8, with the State average being 53.6
The Annual Proficiency Target for Mathematics was set by the State at 63.3; Ozark High School exceeded that with their proficiency rating of 73.6, with the State average being 52.7
So your blanket statement doesn’t fit Ozark High School. All State standards were met or exceeded.
You also state that “Our schools should promote our unique American culture which unites us all on the basis of a shared ideology of personal liberty, economic freedom, and equality before the law. America’s children should be able to stand firmly on the traditions and knowledge of our past as they shape a bright future for our nation.” These two sentences are the evidence that you or your aids conducted no researched on IBO. Just a short preview of the IBO web site or the truthaboutib.com web site would have shown you that IBO’s intentions are all global! IBO wants to develop International mindedness and global citizens not Americanism! When you say equality before the law, which law are you referring to? Those espoused by the United Nations through IB or the U.S. Constitution? What should Americans look forward to, their rights guaranteed in the Constitution or the United Nations Human Rights Agenda? In September 2005 at the Biennial Conference of IB Nordic Schools held in Stockholm, Sweden, IBO’s George Walker presented Marie-Therese Maurette (Director of the International School of Geneva 1948) ideas on International education. Mr. Walker stressed “Maurette …urges teachers to play down the whole concept of nationality, either as a source of pride or of pity. Let’s avoid all sentimentality, she says. She then argues the case for a new kind of geography which puts students into contact with the whole world before they ever see a map of their own country.” She had equally radical ideas about history which, she insisted, should not be taught before age 12 if it was to avoid becoming a gallery of dubious national heroes. I don’t believe our history to be full of dubious national heroes, do you? All I can say is if you support this program at any level, this is what you will be supporting.
In your third paragraph you state “ I also believe that control over our children’s education should be in the hands of local parents and teachers. A one-size fits all education program handed down by federal bureaucrats or congressional decree will never succeed in providing the kind of education that our children need.” But yet you think it is all right if an International education program that supports the United Nations Human Rights Agenda, the Earth Charter, Secular Humanism as a religion and UN Agenda 21 is all right at the local level. Even if it is forced on district patrons at the behest of a school board with patrons in disagreement with that choice!
You have not appeased me, nor will I allow you to sweep me under the carpet! I will continue to take the Ozark School Board to task on this issue and you as well, seeing how it is fast becoming a national issue. The Department of Education supports IB and has allocated millions of dollars for implementation. One of your platform agendas was to do away with this department and return education to local control. Local control is handed over to International bodies with the IBO. This is an opportunity to take the Department of Education to task! This would be substantial legislation unlike NASCAR, Auctioneers and Golf. You would do well to have your staff research the IBO, it’s cost to local school districts, states and the nation, as well as it’s real mission! It is outrageous that our National Representatives are not informed on this issue!

Respectfully,
Ronnie L White
MSG (Ret), USA
Obviously, when you read MSG White's well though out letters to Congressman Long, you see why every America loving parent in Ozark and Southwest Missouri should be concerned about the United Nations getting a foothold in our public schools, yet Congressman Long seems the least little bit concerned despite promising Southwest Missouri he would fight to return local control to schools at an Ozark Chamber of Commerce forum, and the fact Long claims to oppose the Obama agenda. In case you are unaware, this push for the IB comes from Obama's roots as a community organizer that was taken to a much larger scale through Obama stimulus funds.
Despite the promise that Billy Long will stand up for our values...
That's right, Billy Long said he was fed up of the liberals attacks on our values, but given the chance to fight this attack on our values, Congressman Billy Long sends a forum letter to multiple members of the community who are worried the UN's liberal values will soon indoctrinate our students in Ozark.
To this day, MSG White has not heard anything else from Billy Long.
Stow Monroe Falls, Ohio Parents Express Concerns Over the International Baccalaureate
Parents are sharing a similar story, one that I have personally seen in Ozark, Missouri. The school board is on the fast track to implement IB in the Ohio school without giving parents many details. This is one of the methods school administrators are using in hopes you don't find out about the anti-America agenda of the IB until your kids already are indoctrinated.
Stow Monroe Falls applied for IB in April 2010, and they were quick to train their teachers in the ways of the IB. However, they left parents out of the equation, which is done on purpose. You soon figure out why when you see the IB's ties to radical Marxism and other anti-American beliefs, including ending the Second Amendment.
Truth About the International Baccalaureate writes:
Considering the district made application to IBO in April 2010 for two of its six elementary schools and has already trained many of its teachers, why is it so difficult to locate ANY information about IB? However, if you happen to pull up the Indian Trail Elementary School and scroll down, you will find a happy earth with happy children holding hands and the warning that: " Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted." While TAIB supposes that is true, in seven years of research we have never encountered a U.S. school which was denied IB authorization - as long as the checks were good. Could the reason for the district's lack of transparency regarding IB implementation be in any way connected to the impending tax levy vote in August? It is important to note that the parents who contacted TAIB were active volunteers in their childrens' school. Only because they were helping in the classroom did they become aware of the IB teacher training and stealth implementation of IB. They started asking questions. They were accused of "interrogating" the teachers. Attempts at communication with Principal Susan Martucci of Echo Hills Elementary were frustrating. Unfortunately for Principal Martucci, the following staff bulletin was obtained: |
|
Most important, however, is making sure the parents don't know anything about IB until it is months away from being authorized and the indoctrination lessons have been fully pre-implemented. It is important to note that the deadline for requesting a transfer to one of the four non-IB elementary schools in the district was June 1st. |
"The plunge is in the future." ~ Principal Martucci |
|
Frankly, this is disgraceful! Not only does this Principal disparage the parents who wrote LTE's (see below), she actually threatens the teachers who may have bitten their tongues in order to keep their jobs and labeled them "saboteurs", telling them to "do the right thing and ask for a transfer"! Can you imagine? Well, yes, we can. This sounds strangely reminiscent of the threats issued by Rick Borba in Incline Village, Nevada. Let's take a look at those LTE's by those horrible disgruntled parents published in the Stow Sentry. The first letter appeared in September of 2010, but the rest are from May and June, 2011, including a short "news" item by the paper: http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/4888903 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/simple_article/5029279 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/5041565 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/5041574 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/5055870 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/5055872 http://www.stowsentry.com/news/article/5055868 Follow the Money As TAIB has pointed out elsewhere, the 2009 stimulus bill, formally known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act or (ARRA) contained over $10 Billion for Title I schools which implement "innovative programs". According to TAIB's source, the Stow-Munroe Falls district received $300,000 of those funds and is racing to spend it all on IB application fees and teacher training by this Thursday when the funding expires. **see below for ACTUAL grants awarded to the district** All of this without a single parent meeting on IB or any records that TAIB could find in Board minutes regarding approval of expenditure of these funds on IB. Furthermore, major cuts have been made in the district to the arts, busing and teacher layoffs. Most unbelievable is the fact that the district trained seven (7) teachers in IB who were slated for retirement, transfer or layoff. Our source pulled the purchase orders for the IB teacher training in Florida which averaged $2,200 per teacher! Why would a Superintendent waste$22,000 on teachers who won't be around to use their "life changing" IB training in the schools? Who gets stuck with the IB bill when the Federal money runs out? That's right, the local taxpayers. |
Obama Starts War Number 6: Begins Bombing Somalia
Obama's World War continues to expand. We are now officially bombing six countries with Somalia coming on board as the Nobel Peace Prize winner's next target.
A U.S. drone aircraft fired on two leaders of a militant Somali organization tied to al-Qaeda, apparently wounding them, a senior U.S. military official familiar with the operation said Wednesday.
The strike last week against senior members of al-Shabab comes amid growing concern within the U.S. government that some leaders of the Islamist group are collaborating more closely with al-Qaeda to strike targets beyond Somalia, the military official said.
The airstrike makes Somalia at least the sixth country where the United States is using drone aircraft to conduct lethal attacks, joining Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq and Yemen. And it comes as the CIA is expected to begin flying armed drones over Yemen in its hunt for al-Qaeda operatives.

TSA Cancer Rates On the Rise
The Department of Homeland Security has been caught in a lie. The naked full body scanners aren't safe, and the amount of radiation used to create the naked body scans is much higher than the federal government has admitted.
Now the same thugs that are demanding grandma remove her diaper as she sits in a wheelchair at a TSA checkpoint are starting to get sick from the radiation. They are standing near these machines up to eight hours a day, five days a week, taking in the radiation. The lifespan for a TSA agent may be shorter than that of a soldier.
Perhaps this is the best way to get the TSA out of airports.

Obama is a "DICK"
This is interesting. Time Magazine editor Mark Halperin is on the hot seat for calling Obama a "dick."
Halperin used the derogatory term that often is used as a synonym for the male member to describe Obama after his self-righteous press conference yesterday in which the vacationer and chief Obama scolded Congress for going on vacation.
The comment didn't get censored, and Halperin was forced to apologize on the show. Could their be cracks developing in the mainstream media's love for Obama--a love that protected the dolt in the Oval Office from a number of gaffes and stories that would have destroyed any other candidate running for president?

The TSA and a Diaper
I am sick of TSA thugs disrespecting the rights of Americans while exposing the low IQ required to be a government thug.
Homeland Security Ready to Boost Counter Terrorism Efforts Against Americans
A new comment from national security adviser for Homeland Security John Brennan should raise red flags for all Americans already tired of the tyranny of the TSA groping grandmas, women, and young daughters at airports.
‘This is the first counterterrorism strategy that focuses on the ability of al Qaeda and its network to inspire people in the United States to attack us from within,’ he said in a speech at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. ‘Indeed, this is the first counterterrorism strategy that designates the homeland as a primary area of emphasis in our counterterrorism efforts.’
To inspire people in the United States? You mean Americans or those pesky illegal aliens the federal government doesn't want to do anything with?
I doubt it's the latter based on what I have seen, which means Americans can expect even more intrusive tyranny from Janet Napolitano's killers of American freedom known as the TSA and Department of Homeland Security.

The TSA can Mess With Texas
The wussies in the Texas State House failed to hold the TSA to any decency standards. The Texas special session is over, and they failed to pass the TSA no groping bill--which was jeopardized by Republicans.
The bill fell just short of the 120 votes it needed for passage. Of course, the federal government's tyrannical threat to shut down all air traffic within Texas probably weighed on the minds of many.
The truth is, you can mess with Texas these days. Sad really.

Obama's Anti-Constitutional Arrogance: Ron Paul Calls Obama Out for Disregard of the Constitution
The United States Constitution clearly states the purpose of raising a military--"common defense." For some reason, Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama thinks he can go on bombing sprees without any approval from Congress, and his comments are becoming more arrogant with this use of force with each passing day.
When asked yesterday about his illegal war in Libya, Obama perhaps provided his greatest dis to the Constitution. He answered the question, "I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question.”
That's an arrogant dis since the Constitution is supreme law of the land and first and foremost defines the limits and responsibilities of Obama's job. The bottom line here is he is not using our military for what the founders gave him military powers for.
Congressman Ron Paul was quick to jump on Obama's disregard of the Constitution.
“You take an oath of office to obey the Constitution… the Constitution is very clear, you don’t go to war without a declaration,” said Paul.
Of course, since when has Obama really cared about the Constitution? After all, Obama thinks the federal government can tell you what to buy and when to buy it (Obamacare), and clearly the Founding Fathers would reject such a notion.

Obama is Out of Touch With His Own Family, So Why is He Telling Your Family What to Do?
Have you noticed how the Obamas are quick to tell Americans how to live their lives. Whether its what to eat, what to drive, or mandating healthcare purchases, Obama appears to love to be everyone's authoritarian father. The truth is Obama really isn't that good of a dad.
What does this have to do with Obama not being a good dad? Well, as he is telling American families what to do, he obviously doesn't pay enough attention to his own family. In case you missed it, just like Obama said he campaigned in 57 states but hadn't been in Alaska and Hawaii, Obama got the age of his daughter wrong--TWICE.
Obviously, the first Dad isn't paying too much attention to the family. Could this be one of the problems?

Rand Paul Calls the TSA's John Pistole Clueless
Rand Paul stands up for one of his constituents, a six year old girl who was a victim of a TSA pat down, as he confronts TSA thug head John Pistole. In Senator Paul's classic form, he develops a solid argument about the stupidity of the TSA's procedures while calling Pistole "clueless."
I concur.
I concur.
Low Income Housing Now Includes Pool Tables, Heated Spas, and Swimming Pools
The argument that America doesn't do enough for the poor must end. We are doing to much as evident in a new government housing project in Fairfax, Virginia. Taxpayers who can't afford the finer things in life as they pay taxes on the middle-life existence are contributing to bring the poor to a better quality lifestyle then most of them have.
WMAL reports:
Resort-style swimming pools with fountains and heated spas, billiards rooms, granite counter tops, ceramic tile, indoor basketball courts, stainless steel appliances -- many Fairfax County taxpayers cannot afford such luxuries. But they are paying for these amenities for use by low-income residents who live in subsidized housing in affluent neighborhoods.
"They're a part of our rental program where we subsidize the rents for the individuals in the units, and we end up having to pick up the condo fees," supervisor Pat Herrity told 630 WMAL News.
Herrity does not advocate putting low-income residents in "ghetto-style" housing but he takes issue with taxpayers who cannot afford such luxuries being forced to pick up the tab for people who qualify for subsidized housing.
"These are resort-style amenities that the majority of the taxpayers that are subsidizing it don't have on their own," said Herrity, adding that "luxury has no place in subsidized housing."
"If the occupants of these homes improve their lives financially, they will be forced to move out. And the housing they could afford without the taxpayer subsidy is well below the quality of these homes," he said.
Herrity said Fairfax County should sell subsidized housing units located in affluent neighborhoods and stop paying the condo fees.
"Why would we have taxpayers who are trying to work their way into these neighborhoods pay for somebody else to be put into these neighborhoods," said Herrity.
What you mean they aren't getting free internet, cable television, and cell phones? The outrage.
Ah, who am I kidding? Just because they weren't mentioned with the spas, basketball court, and swimming pools, doesn't mean they aren't included. They have just conditioned us to believe this is now the norm.

Sarah Palin: Private Citizen
Sarah Palin is playing a tough game. Just when you think she is going to jump in the 2012 GOP presidential field and save the day, she then steers you in the other direction.
She's in Iowa promoting the new documentary The Undefeated, a documentary about Palin's life as Alaska's governor. Sometime during the festivities of the premier, she said she love being influential without being in office.
“Being a private citizen, I think I am a good example for others to show that you don’t have to have a title, you don’t have to hold national or statewide office in order to effect positive change and make a difference,” she said. “The documentary encapsulates that — to be involved for the right reasons and challenge the status quo.”

More John Lennon Political Common Sense That Will Upset Liberals
Liberals are having a couple of rough entertainment months. Last month we find out global crusader Bono isn't paying his taxes--taxes which are used to help the third world countries he campaigns for. Now we are finding out John Lennon began to see the values of self-responsibility over the promises of big government for a better world.
As if yesterday's news that John Lennon was a fan of Ronald Reagan and would have voted for him had he been an American citizen wasn't enough, we are now learning that John Lennon's views of world hunger and aid for third world countries are far different than one would expect.
From Big Hollywood:
A December article in the The Amerian Conservative reports on some startling revelations from John Lennon himself in a number of interviews that took place near the end of his life. Obviously, the MSM and their co-conspirators in the entertainment media shoved all of this down the memory-hole.
American Conservative’s Jordan Micheal Smith:
In the last major interview Lennon gave, to Playboy in late 1980 (and later released unedited as a book, All We Are Saying), he and Yoko Ono offered opinions that can fairly be described as chastened, jaded, even provincial. …
When it was pointed out that a Beatles reunion could possibly raise $200 million for a poverty-stricken country in South America, Lennon had no time for it. “You know, America has poured billions into places like that. It doesn’t mean a damn thing. After they’ve eaten that meal, then what? It lasts for only a day. After the $200,000,000 is gone, then what? It goes round and round in circles.” It’s a critique of foreign aid readers of P.T. Bauer would be familiar with. “You can pour money in forever. After Peru, then Harlem, then Britain. There is no one concert. We would have to dedicate the rest of our lives to one world concert tour, and I’m not ready for it.”
This was not the ’60s revolutionary who hung out with Yippies and Black Panthers. Not only did Lennon dismiss his earlier efforts, he rejected the entire idea of social change through political action. “I have never voted for anybody, anytime, ever,” he said. “Even at my most so-called political. I have never registered and I never will. It’s going to make a lot of people upset, but that’s too bad.”
“I dabbled in so-called politics in the late Sixties and Seventies more out of guilt than anything,” he revealed. “Guilt for being rich, and guilt thinking that perhaps love and peace isn’t enough and you have to go and get shot or something, or get punched in the face, to prove I’m one of the people. I was doing it against my instincts.” …
Nothing seems less like the popular idea of Lennon, but there was more. In his definitive song, “Imagine”—Yoko Ono has said its lyrics express “just what John believed”—he famously dreams of a world with “no possessions.” The mature Lennon explicitly disavowed such naïve sentiments:
I worked for money and I wanted to be rich. So what the hell—if that’s a paradox, then I’m a socialist. But I am not anything. What I used to be is guilty about money. … Because I thought money was equated with sin. I don’t know. I think I got over it, because I either have to put up or shut up, you know. If I’m going to be a monk with nothing, do it. Otherwise, if I am going to try and make money, make it. Money itself isn’t the root of all evil.
The man who famously called for imagining a world with “No religion” also jettisoned his anti-theism. “People got the image I was anti-Christ or antireligion,” he said. “I’m not at all. I’m a most religious fellow. I’m religious in the sense of admitting there is more to it than meets the eye. I’m certainly not an atheist.”
Even more shocking to the idea of Lennon as a secular leftist, or a deep thinker, the man rejected evolution. “Nor do I think we came from monkeys, by the way,” he insisted. “That’s another piece of garbage. What the hell’s it based on? We couldn’t’ve come from anything—fish, maybe, but not monkeys. I don’t believe in the evolution of fish to monkeys to men. Why aren’t monkeys changing into men now? It’s absolute garbage.”
Wow, John Lennon's own words prove what Rush Limbaugh has said for years. Celebrity activists protest more because of guilt than what's in their hearts.
What is even more interesting about this is Mark David Chapman drew part of his rage for Lennon because he felt Lennon was a fraud when he compared him to songs like Imagine. Chapman saw that Lennon sang "Imagine no possessions" but owned multiple homes, boats, etc. So this isn't really a new revelation who saw the poetry of Lennon and then saw the real Lennon who engaged in capitalism and reaped the rewards.
If John Lennon was a live today, it would be interesting to see if the words used come into play, as Bob Dylan often felt he was used by the radical left that took his songs for their cause by interpreting them to be something they weren't.

Department of Veterans Affairs Accused of Taking Jesus/God Out of Prayers at Houston National Cemetary
There is censorship going on at the Department of Veteran Affairs in Houston. Veterans are reporting they are censoring God and Jesus out of prayers at the Houston National Cemetery.
Fox News Reports:
Three organizations -- the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion and the National Memorial Ladies -- allege that the cemetery's director and other government officials have created "religious hostility" at the cemetery and are violating the First Amendment. According to court documents filed this week in federal court, the cemetery's director, Arleen Ocasio, has banned saying "God" at funerals and requires prayers be submitted in advance for government approval, MyFoxHouston.com reports.
What a kick in the ass! These veterans took an oath to protect the Constitution and when it comes time to honor them at the moment of death, the federal government now appears to be requiring pre-approval of any prayer said at a service at the Houston National Cemetery. If they can control a prayer and censor it, what do you think that means for a free press?

Shaun Fawster Arrested in Bangor, Maine for Charging a Cell Phone
This is what you get when the federal government hands out cell phones to the homeless and poor. Shaun Fawster, a homeless man from Maine obviously had access to one of these government subsidized cell phones (remember the homeless people taking pictures on the cell phones of Michelle Obama serving them in the soup line?) needed to charge his free cell phone with free minutes. Since he is homeless he wasn't paying electricity. So he plugs his phone to charge into someone's outdoor outlet.
Well, he's going to jail now for stealing electricity. Bangor police officer Jeff Milliard made the arrest keeping the streets of Bangor safe from people with federally subsidized cell phones.
Wanna bet there will soon be a government solution to charge these federally subsidized cell phones?

After Pushing $800 Billion in Stimulus Spending, Obama Blames Congress for Spending
Obama is using the Constitution. It's a rare thing, but he is doing it to shield himself from the criticism of the rising national debt. As he scolded Republicans in Congress, who have only been in power in the House for almost six months, Obama pointed the finger towards them today when it came to out of control spending.
“These are bills that Congress ran up,” Obama said during his press conference today. “The money’s been spent. The obligations have been made. So this is not a situation – I think the American people have to understand this – this is not a situation where you know, Congress is going to say, ‘Okay, we won’t buy this car or we won’t take this vacation.’ They took the vacation, they bought the car, and now they’re saying maybe we don’t have to pay or we don’t have to pay as fast as we said we were going to. That’s not how responsible families act. We’re the greatest nation on earth and we can’t act that way. So this is urgent and it needs to get settled.”
Oh, so now we get this bit of transference from Obama. After proposing huge $800 billion plus stimulus bills that failed and other big government spending, Obama is now blaming Congress for 100% of the mess. Constitutionally he would be correct, but Obama doesn't give a rat's behind about the Constitution. You can't hide the fact his hands were in the cookie jar too.

Obama Announces Vacation Plans and Then Attacks Congress for Vacations
But the president wasn’t done yet. After touting his leadership on the debt ceiling issue, pointing out that he’d met with members of Congress repeatedly in recent months, the president took some shots at the Congressional calendar that leaves lawmakers ample time to leave Washington and return to their home states and districts.
“They need to do their job. Now’s the time to go ahead and make the tough choices. That’s why they’re called leaders. And I’ve already shown that I’m willing ot make decisions that are very tough and you know, give my base of voters further reason to give me a hard time, but it’s got to be done, so there’s no point in procrastinating. There’s no point in putting it off. You know, we’ve got to get this done. And if by the end of this week we have not seen substantial progress then I think members of Congress need to understand we’re going to have to start cancelling things and stay here until we get it done. They’re in one week. They’re out one week. And then they’re saying Obama’s got to step in – you need to be here, I’ve been here, I’ve been doing Afghanistan, bin Laden, and the Greek crisis. You stay here. Let’s get it done.”
But on a happier note, the Obama's announce their plans for leaving Washington and taking another vacation.
For the first family, their Vineyard haven is taking on the flavor of a summer White House. President Obama, for the third straight year, is planning to return to Martha’s Vineyard for vacation this summer, according to a White House official.
The Obamas are scheduled to spend seven to 10 days on the island in mid- to late August, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of security concerns.
I bet they get the family photo op getting ice cream again this year.

Sarah Steelman Faces the Impossible Considering Her First Quarter Fundraising
Sarah Steelman today told KRZK she is going to need at least $14 million to beat Claire McCaskill. Get ready for a political acid trip to avoid the tough reality that faces Steelman.
Why do we need to go to La La Land to feel better about Steelman's chances of beating Claire? Because her campaign has already seen a major shake up as she fired those who were running her campaign after just three or four months. As well, her first quarter 2011 fundraising was described as "lackluster" in a time when Republicans, thanks to the tyrant and chief Barack Obama, are winning elections again. Steelman only raised $186,000 in her first quarter. We will soon see if she performed better in the second quarter in just a couple of weeks. I know I don't have to tell you...
You can do the math.
There is just not that much excitement surrounding Steelman, and the more she opens her mouth, the more concern there should be, especially when you consider Steelman will probably turn the Republican primary into a nasty race that eats up resources and money just like she did in the Republican primary for Missouri governor against Kenny Hulshof.
