Newt Gingrich Lies to Mike Huckabee About his Support of Cap and Trade

Speaking to big government RINO Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich has denied he ever supported cap and trade. Huckabee asked him about his support of Cap and Trade and Newt replied:

But if you notice, I never favored cap-and-trade. I – in fact, I actively testified against it. I was at the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee the same day Al Gore was there to testify for it. I testified against it. And through American Solutions we actively fought it in the Senate, and I think we played a major role in defeating it.

To no surprise the establishment's Huckabee didn't challenge Mr. Gingrich, but I will. In a February 2007 interview with Frontline, Newt was asked:

In 2000, candidate George Bush pledged mandatory carbon caps; it was a campaign pledge. What did you think of it at the time? Were you for that?

Now listen to what Newt told Frontline and compare it to what he told Huckabee:

I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there's a package there that's very, very good. And frankly, it's something I would strongly support.

Mr. Gingrich, once again you have been caught in a lie.
