Billy Long's Office Finally Contacts John Dollarhite on USDA Rabbit Issue
Bob Kollmeir, Billy Long's agricultural representative in the 7th District, has contacted John Dollarhite regarding the USDA fines against the Dollarhites for selling rabbits after setting up a hobby for their son to teach him responsibility. Kollmeir apologized to Dollarhite for taking so long to get hold of him.
Kollmeier and Dollahite are playing phone tag and are expected to talk within the hour.
There appears to be a motive behind this now. Dollarhite may be a political pawn to push new horse legislation. Recently it became illegal to slaughter horses in the United States. The USDA is pushing to give horses pet status, and the USDA may be building cases against small American hobbyists to push their way into the horse industry for further regulation into the massive horse industry, which includes horse racing. He may be a pawn to influence case law so the USDA can justify further control over the horse industry.

This is just another example of our government agencies going after the little guy so they can claim a "victory" for their agency while letting agribusiness/corporations/Wall Street/pharmaceutical companies do what they want. The difference is that the big guys "pay to play", the little guys are just trying to make money to survive and put food on the table...
