Tea Party Coloring Book Publisher Gets Death Threats Over Patriotic Coloring Book
The owner of Really Big Coloring books, a Missouri company, has received death threats for publishing a Tea Party coloring book.
Wayne Bell of Clayton, Mo., says he‘s receiving harsh messages from people apparently angry over his company’s latest work, a coloring book which tells the story of today’s tea party movement with passages like “When taxes are too high, the high tax takes away jobs and freedom.”
“Nobody said ‘Wayne Bell, I’m coming for you and I’m going to do this to you’,” Bell told local CBS affiliate KMOX. “But when people say to me (online) ‘We’re going to give you a chloroform headlock’, or they say ‘Let’s try the inner-city ice cream truck method on this guy’…I mean, we’re reading this in the blogosphere.
“I don’t even know what the ‘inner-city ice cream truck’ thing means.”
“We’re not really making a political statement,” Bell said, adding that his company also publishes coloring books on the Rockettes, Cirque du Soleil and President Obama.
As a result, Bell has been forced to keep his store’s doors locked with a “Please Knock” sign.
“We have talked with our legal department, and they said ‘Hey, what can you do? You’re in the publishing business, you made a book that’s political, get over it!’,” Bell said.
On the bright side, Bell says it’s quickly become his store’s all-time best-seller.
Don't you just love those liberals who teach tolerance!

Obama May Not Face Democratic Challenger in 2012: Polls Not Good for Hillary
Many people suspect sometime next year, Hillary Clinton will hang up the Secretary of State role and go back into presidential campaign mode. A new Gallup Poll shows that Hillary may be best to hang on to what little power she does have in the State Department.
If Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were to challenge President Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2012, she would currently have the support of 37% of Democrats nationally, while 52% would support Obama.

Obama Compares His Economic Woes to the Plight of Slavery in America
Obama spoke in front of the Democratic National Committee GEN44 Summit. He is now comparing his woes to the plight of slavery in America. Over $800 billion in spending to get us out of this economic mess, and Obama reaches into history with a moot point.
"People are frustrated, their anxious, they're scared about the future. And they have a right to be impatient about the pace of change. I'm impatient," President Obama said at an event for Gen44. "It took time to free the slaves," he added.
Meanwhile, the Democrats contracted with B.O.B. to perform the night's entertainment. B.O.B. sings a song Billy Long probably doesn't like but may be familiar with the use of some of the language in the rap as a frequent connoisseur.

Robin Carnahan on Why She is Running for the Senate: It's About People Like Me
Robin Carnahan's latest beg for campaign money explains why she is running for Senate. She says it's for people like me.
I'm leaving an event in Kansas City. There are less than 4 hours until the fundraising deadline and I'm out doing my part tonight. I just talked to Mindy, and she told me about the incredible outpouring of support online today.
Thank you.
This race isn't about raising money, it's not about attack ads. It's about people like you choosing who should represent Missouri in the Senate for the next six years.
I believe that we can, and will, fix broken the system of lobbyists and corruption that defines Washington today. The work that we do together in the next few weeks will shape the future of our state and our country.
Thank you for all the work you've done so far, and for the work that we will do together in the closing days of this campaign.
Thank you,
Robin Carnahan
That's funny. According to Glenn Beck she wasn't too complimentary about us Constitutional types who hold some truths to be self evident. I guess it's only about people like me when Robin wants my money. Knowing she wants to raise my energy taxes, she wants lots of my money.

Auctioneer Republican Billy Long Loves the 2008 Version of Nancy Pelosi and Her Big Spending Ways
Fed up Auctioneer Billy Long recently told the News-Leader he wants to roll back spending to 2008 levels. You mean 2008, when Nancy Pelosi ruled Congress and racked up huge deficits after years of republicans in Congress spending like Democrats and growing government? There was a time when a conservative republican led Congress created a nice surplus. I guess Billy Long forgot those days and settled for lovin' on Nancy Pelosi and her 2008 budget instead.
Glenn Beck Calls Out Robin Carnahan for Mocking Constitutional Loving Missourians
Robin Carnahan is an arrogant politician, and Glenn Beck is calling her out. Listen to what Carnahan about the Constitution Party and its voters. Carnahan is laughing that someone who supports the Constitution wouldn't vote for her--laughing about it. This woman is sick!
Strong Conservative Message of Realities of Enslavement to Taxation, Liberty, and the Strength of Country Found in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood
I rented Ridley Scott's Robin Hood starring Russel Crowe from the Playstation Store yesterday. I have been uplifted by its positive conservative message. Throughout the movie, you see how unfair taxation of the people leads to tyranny by the government (King), eventual disloyalty by the people who wonder how much is enough (they fought for the King as well), and how freedom and liberty is a solid foundation for any country.
As we watch the corruption in our own government, never taxing enough, always spending more than then have, and enslaving its people with more taxes, you wonder when will Robin Longstride save the country and what form will he come in--politician or revolutionary freedom fighter. Each passing day it seems more freedoms are coming under attack. Perhaps a clear focus on the message of this great movie would help more people put in perspective what is happening in our own country.

Ike Skelton Casts the Critical Vote that Sent Congress Home Without Extending Bush Tax Cuts
Ike Skelton's vote yesterday to adjourn Congress may have as well of been a vote to raise your taxes. As you know, the Bush tax cuts are set to expire at the end of the year, and Skelton would rather run home and claim he cares about the people in Missouri's 4th District rather than show he cares about the people and the economy by ensuring debate begins to prevent these huge tax hikes.
Skelton's republican opponent Vicky Hartzler has something to say about display of bad judgement:
Congressman Ike Skelton has again demonstrated his loyalty to ultra-liberal House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by giving her the Missouri 4th Congressional District vote as the U.S. House voted 210-209 to adjourn without extending the Bush-era tax cuts. If Congress fails to return to address the tax cut issue in a "lame duck" session after the November election the tax rates of Missourians and other Americans will rise dramatically.
Congressman Skelton refused to stand with residents of the 4th District as he cast the deciding vote on an issue whose outcome was determined by the slimmest of margins. Mr. Skelton and the Democrat-controlled Congress have failed us again. It's unconscionable that the U.S. House would vote to go home without taking a stand to protect Americans by extending these important tax cuts that literally allow some middle- and lower-income Missourians to feed their families. 39 Democrats voted with the people to extend the tax cuts but Mr. Skelton chose to side with Nancy Pelosi and against the interests of 4th District Missourians who cannot afford to see their taxes increase in the new year.
The Wall Street Journal estimates failure to extend the tax cuts could result in a married couple with an annual adjusted gross income of $80,000 paying an additional $2,200 in taxes. A married couple earning $160,000 could see its tax burden rise by $5,500. I'm very disappointed that Congressman Skelton has failed to use the 4th District's precious vote to protect the interests of its taxpayers and has instead cast his lot with Nancy Pelosi and other liberals who would place an added burden on families already struggling to get by.
Congressman Skelton's deciding vote to adjourn not only puts taxpayers in jeopardy, it means Congress is wrapping up its work without passing a budget. This is poor leadership - pure and simple. We need new representation in the 4th district. I would vote to extend all the tax cuts in this dismal economy, and I believe enacting a budget is the most basic duty of every federal legislator no matter the circumstances. Join me in calling for Mr. Skelton to answer in public for these votes.
It's time to send Skelton on his way to retirement. He is out of touch with the needs of western Missouri.

Billy Long Endorses Nancy Pelosi Led Federal Spending: Now Billy Long Can't Say He is Fed Up With Much
How can you have any conservative common sense and not see through the republicans meaningless Pledge to America? I laugh at Billy Long when I hear him say he is Fed Up knowing he came home from Washington, DC embracing the Pledge to America.
Upon Slick Billy's return from DC meeting with the republican establishment of career politicians he once claimed to be fed up, Long bragged to the Springfield News-Leader:
Long would like to see federal government spending rolled back to 2008 levels.
"That would save us $100 billion a year, just by doing that."
2008! 2008? 2008 marks the year that voters were fed up with the republicans eight years of growing government and increasing spending, which led to Nancy Pelosi taking charge of the House of Representatives in 2008. So what Billy Long appears to be saying is let's turn back the clock to the days Nancy Pelosi ran Congress. Heck, if Republicans want to act like Nancy Pelosi, I would rather we keep Pelosi rather than put up with a facade that hurts real conservatism.
Puppy love has obviously confused fed-up Billy.
The American Spectator Warns of a Republican Version of Cap and Trade Possibly in the Works
What's that I have been trying to enforce in recent days? The Republicans Pledge for America is kind of like light beer. You know, a watered down version of a full flavored beer! It's like the Republicans are promising us they are going to be Democrat Lights, and in the end, as these Republicans pose as conservatives, it's us real conservatives who lose in the end.
The bottom line with the Pledge for America is it doesn't stop this strong central planning from the federal government. If you need further proof beyond repeal and replace, which if you are conservative and against big government should just be repeal, consider this story from the American Spectator, which suggests the Republicans may be in on this idea to tax carbon emissions in the coming months.
More Whining from the Windmill Welfare Queens
By Chris Horner on 9.29.10 @ 12:33PM
So I hear how the windmill welfare queens (and their solar panel counterparts) -- industries that would not exist but for mandates, subsidies and taxes to pay for them, all courtesy of coercive government -- have some Republicans on the pad to lobby for continued, and escalating, state-endowed prosperity. Meaning wealth transfers. Welfare, if you like.
That's not unique to them, though their specific pitch is that of he who meets the above-cited description. And this is neither unexpected nor unprecedented; when former RNC chair Ken Mehlman cashed out he quickly rushed into the embrace of the global warming industry, to lobby for Big Green and its cap-n-trade -- sorry, that's cap-n-tax -- agenda (the House's registration records are available here, the Senate's here).
The pork they seek is in Harry Reid's list of 20 things to cram down after the elections in a lame-duck session, according to The Hill. Unfortunately, in addition to generational debt, as Europe is learning the hard way, it also means competitiveness-killing energy price hikes. Or, like President Obama's erstwhile "renewable energy" model Denmark, you can just push it all of onto households. To crib from a certain leftist leader, how many divisions -- of lobbyists -- do they have?
Anyway, it seems that these Republican suits are getting heavy with Senate Republican leadership over Republican Policy Committee professionals circulating updates about the renewable energy mandate. It's that use of the word "mandate" to describe the mandate that they're particularly cheesed about. They prefer the term "standard". Like cap-n-trade instead of cap-n-tax to described the tax that is cap-n-trade. Can't be so clear. People might get it. I'll stop using "standard". It's a renewable energy mandate.
As I have maintained to anyone who will listen, history suggests that watching the Republicans on these issues is going to require at least as much vigilance as opposing the Democrats. Had John McCain won the White House, some percentage of the Republicans preening in indignation about cap-n-tax would have signed on. Even on this issue of the most regressive taxes around, the evidence suggests it's not about principle for most, but still all about giving away the goodies. Which first requires them to take the goodies that you earned from you, with a little taste for the state. If they have to moan about the other guy doing it as a way to get power, well, life is full of such sacrifices.
Until that changes, no actual change occurs.
So, that's "renewable energy MANDATE". That name again, "renewable energy MANDATE".
If Republican lobbyists don't like that, they can call themselves Democrats. Or, if they find succor among the leaders of their chosen political affiliation, the Republican Party can step aside. The evidence also suggests that people have had enough, don't trust them, and are ready to try something different. It's not complicated.

Ted Nugent on the Pledge to America: Republicans Need to Take the Ted Pledge
Ted Nugent has some comments about the Pledge To America. Apparently it doesn't go far enough for the Nuge either. Apparently Nugent isn't impressed to rolling back to Nancy Pelosi's 2008 either, like our little chubby buddy Billy Long is. Here's his thoughts:
The Republican "Pledge to America" is a step in the right direction, but we should never settle for simply better. We always should demand much better. A return to excellence would be nice, wouldn't it?
Compared to the bloated, ineffective, wasteful, expensive, irresponsible and downright enslaving Fedzilla programs the Democrats recently have rammed down our throats and will continue to force on us if re-elected, the Republican pledge surely would move America in a new, positive direction.
What Republicans owe the American people is a hefty dose of plain-speaking, bold pragmatism that clearly articulates the GOP's vision for America. Even I, your humble Motown guitar slayer, remain steadfastly locked on the vision of our Founding Fathers and am prepared to ride to their rescue with the Ted Pledge. My crowbar of logic and truth does not gently weep.
GOP candidates and politicians should self-impose term limits and pledge to serve just two terms in the House or one term in the Senate and then leave Washington for good, never to return. Americans know that professional Fedzillacrats and lobbyists from both sides of the political aisle are the root cause of America's problems; they are not the solution.
Republicans should then call a news conference and burn the federal tax code on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol and then march right back into the Capitol and pass a Fair Tax. Until then, no taxes should be withheld from our paychecks. Americans should have to pay their taxes once a year so that they can see exactly how much of their income is swallowed up by Fedzilla. The GOP should pledge to move April 15, tax day, to the day before national elections in November. I assure you that would guarantee term limits.
The Republican leadership should pledge to implement GOP Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert's proposal to eliminate all federal taxes, including Social Security taxes, from the paychecks of Americans for one year. Mr. Gohmert's proposal would cause the American economy to roar back to life. Let's get bold and creative like Mr. Gohmert.
Republican politicians should pledge never to write or introduce a bill longer than our Constitution, which is roughly 5,000 words. If Congress critters can't write a bill in fewer than 5,000 words, they don't deserve to be in Congress. Period.
Republicans should pledge that they will invite businesspeople and free-market economists to go through each bill in detail and then report to the American public on how the bill will impact the free market before the vote on the bill is taken. The GOP should pledge to convene annually a group of businesspeople and free-market economists to recommend how Fedzilla can be gutted further.
For every new law passed, Republicans should pledge to eliminate 1,000 existing federal laws, regulations and requirements.
The GOP should pledge that it will never introduce, support or pass a law that punishes the producers and rewards bloodsuckers.
Using 2008 budget numbers, Republicans should pledge to reduce the size of Fedzilla by 25 percent during the next four years. Less government is always the best government. Dramatically reducing the size of government will pour gas on the embers of our economy and turn it into an inferno. Economic infernos are good.
The GOP should pledge to immediately stick a dagger in the heart of the death tax and all corporate taxes. This will free up untold trillions of dollars that can be used to get our economy roaring back to life and put Americans back to work.
Republicans should tell young Americans that Social Security is a Fedzilla financial Ponzi scheme and they will not receive a dime when they retire because Fedzillacrats have stolen all the money in the Social Security Trust Fund. The GOP should pledge to young workers that it will introduce legislation that will protect their IRAs and 401(k) investments from taxation when they retire.
The GOP should remind America that more options make for more affordable choices and that the free market has and still can provide this. As such, Obamacare and other Fedzilla programs that can and should be provided and managed by the private sector will be repealed. All federal welfare programs should be eliminated in the next five years. This will breed tough Americans. Tough is good. Soft is weak.
Republicans in name only (RINOs) should be purged from the GOP. RINOs are political punks who cannot be counted on. Get rid of them.
Pledge to Americans the GOP will pass legislation to ensure that federal employees will be paid what their private-sector counterparts earn and not one penny more. Except for the Department of Defense, a federal hiring freeze should be instituted for at least the next 10 years.
Republicans need to tell Americans that we've tried big government and it has been an abject failure. The only people who fail to understand this fundamental truism are power-hungry Fedzillacrats, bloodsuckers, socialists and idiots. They are anti-Americans. Do America a favor and send these punks packing.
Finally, the GOP should remind Americans at every opportunity that freedom is always better than tyranny and that smaller government is always better government.
What say you, GOP?
The Republican "Pledge to America" is a step in the right direction, but we should never settle for simply better. We always should demand much better. A return to excellence would be nice, wouldn't it?
Compared to the bloated, ineffective, wasteful, expensive, irresponsible and downright enslaving Fedzilla programs the Democrats recently have rammed down our throats and will continue to force on us if re-elected, the Republican pledge surely would move America in a new, positive direction.

Liberty, Democracy & The Confederate Constitution: The Dr. Marshall DeRosa Interview From the Mike Church Sirius Patriot Radio Show
I promised this to you yesterday, but apparently there is going to be no transcript between Mike Church and Dr. Marshall DeRosa on the republican establishment's goals of central planning and what Americans must do to break the destruction of our freedom and Constitution in the United States. It includes that word liberals like to label racist. You know, secession! While there has been no transcript produced, the Mike Church interview can be hard at the Mike Church Web site. It's worth your time.
(Audio) MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA - Marshall DeRosa, author of Redeeming American Democracy, Lessons from the Confederate Constitution, spent an hour on the show talking about our favorite subject: The U.S. Constitution and the paramount role the citizens of the sovereign states play in restoring (no, not keeping because it IS GONE) that order.
Professor DeRosa was insightful, brilliant, and downright provocative when he proclaimed that Congress is performing criminal activity (of which I agree).
You will want to listen to all four episodes and share them with the neighbor who thinks Lincoln was hero because "he preserved the union and freed the slaves!" (a myth frequently debunked at BBCW)
Biography: Dr. DeRosa received his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Houston and his B. A. from West Virginia University, Magna Cum Laude. He has taught at Davis and Elkins College (1985-1988), Louisiana State University (1988-1990), and Florida Atlantic University (1990-Present).
He is a Salvatori Fellow with the Heritage Foundation and full professor in the Department of Political Science. He has published articles and reviews in professional journals, book chapters, and three books. His teaching specializations are American Constitutional Law and Policymaking, International Law, Law and American Society, and the Judicial Process. He resides in Wellington, FL, with his wife and four children.

Beware of the Decepticons: Good Policy vs Bad Policy=Great TV but terrible gubbmint
Mike Church has had some amazing commentary about why the Republican's Pledge to America is just another form of unconstitutional central planning by the federal government. It's why he and other conservatives are not thrilled with the Pledge. After all, the promise to repeal and replace by the republicans promises more central planning by the federal government--you know, the replace part.
Here in Southwest Missouri, Billy Long is promising to bring fed up small business common sense to Washington, and yet he appears to be committed to the Pledge to America based on his quotes in the paper. Read on to find out why Billy Long has already sacrificed his small business common sense and the establishment slaughtered it like a lamb on an alter, as Long promotes the Pledge to America talking points.
From Roseann Moring, September 27, 2010, Candidates express differing views on federal budget, Springfield News-Leader.-
Long would like to see federal government spending rolled back to 2008 levels.
"That would save us $100 billion a year, just by doing that."

Mike: So let me get back to the overriding point that you need to repeat. It’s not the difference between Republican policy and Democrat policy. It is the fact that policy exists where there is no need for policy. In other words, most of these things don’t need government, and they don’t need meddling from bureaucrats, from agencies, from Congress, from the Senate, from your state legislature, and on and on and on. But we are taught to believe that, “Why, Mike, well, how can an economy function without a government to run it?” Bingo. It is the thesis, it is the idea of central planning, central economic planning as what’s being discussed here. And it is the folly, the absolute fallacy that our destinies are controlled, I mean, folks, just think about this for just a second. Google this. Get your Google Earth maps out there. Let’s say you live in some part of Arizona. Let’s just say Tempe, Arizona just to throw a name out there. How far away is that from Mordor? Seriously, as the crow flies? How many miles is that? 2,000? 2,100? 2,200? You want to Google Earth that for me and give me a measure? It doesn’t really matter what it is. It won’t change the argument.
The point is, let me see if I understand this right. The daily execution and joy of your life must be approved, must be micromanaged, must be regulated, must be made better, must be made whole, must be made — oh, wait, it’s got to be for the good of the country. Why can’t it be for the good of Arizona? Why is this point so hard to grasp? Why can’t things that are good for the city of Tempe, Arizona not be good for the rest of the republic? If Tempe, Arizona is minding its own business, not causing wars, not stealing from their neighbors, living the good life, abiding by law, not over-managing or over-regulating their business and industry, and is cranking out goods and products and services that people want to buy, and is employing people, is doing things that happen in a free society in a free market, what threat are they to people in Bangor, Maine, other than, why, we don’t want to have to compete with them? Oh, so what do you do then? You buy a politician. But isn’t it true that rising tides lift all boats? Well, then, why wouldn’t you want — how many counties are in this republic? Is there a count of that? Can you see if you can get me a count of that? I’m curious.
AG: Yeah, we’ll look it up.
Mike: Let’s just say for argument’s sake there’s 10,000 counties. Wouldn’t it better for 10,000 counties to be pursuing their own individual prosperity, their own individual excellence? And even when it applies to things like education and competing against one another inside — state to state, county to county? Wouldn’t that yield a better result than having a one-size-fits-all, dumbed-down edict from some central planning authority that must take into consideration the lowest common denominator in all equations, and must make all policies that descend from that equally applicable to all the counties and all the people in them? So you can’t strive for excellence because you’ve got to tell the people that are really good, look, you’re just going to have to hold hands and sing the Coke song and suck it up, bud. Yeah, we know you’re good at making jobs. We know you’re good at making movies or books or steel or whatever. But you’re going to have to make it, and you’re going to have to give some of what you make away because there are people out there that suck. There are people out there that aren’t good at what they do.
I mean, I’m just revulsed to the fiber and core of my being at what passes for our allegedly adult policy or our allegedly adult issue-oriented conversations in the state of our — why, we’ve got to get serious about this. We’re not serious about it. If we were serious about it, we would seriously be talking about breaking away and asking for a divorce from this monster. That would signal that you’re serious. Anything else, folks, this is just a circus. You’re participating in a circus. You’re participating in the idea that salvation comes from Washington. And you’re participating in the idea that that central authority is something that ought to be preserved. Can somebody explain to me outside, outside of the alleged need for common defense, why we must preserve that monster in its current form as our boss, as our capital? I mean, seriously, where is the adult logic and reasoning and discussion about this? Isn’t it high time that that idea be on the table?
That’s what Andy McCarthy said yesterday on this program, and I’m paraphrasing here. Because before there was a welfare state, we didn’t have this collective notion that we put our prayer rugs out and bow down to Mordor on the Potomac every day and look for guidance on entitlements, and look for guidance on President Barack Obama — count how many times Jon Belmont on the nationwide broadcast ABC News says “President Barack Obama is out touring the country today, promoting the economy.” This hasn’t worked anywhere where it’s been tried. Why are we so foolish, and why aren’t people literally questioning the existence of that capital, and the existence, the authority of its power is beyond I.
All right. I welcome your comments, ladies and gentlemen, dudes and überbabes. Here is the telephone number: 1-866-957-2874. By the way, there are 3,140 counties out there. Can you imagine the competition for industry, the competition for education and educators, the competition for anything that you can imagine that would happen, and that we would enjoy the fruits of, if all 3,140 counties out there were competing against one another? If they didn’t have Mordor on the Potomac? If they didn’t have a central planning authority to try to level the playing field and make it equal, equal, equal and even for everyone. Can you imagine? Right here where I live we have West St. Tammany and East St. Tammany Parishes. We’d have West competing vs. East. We would be competing against Washington Parish to the north, Tangipahoa Parish to the west, East Baton Rouge Parish a little further to the west. And I could go on and on and on.
This is what Jefferson believed. This is what Jefferson spent his life defending. This is what the founders thought, or the founding generation thought that they had achieved for us and for posterity at the end of what was known as the Revolutionary War. They already had it, but they thought they had preserved it. Well, we in our daily lives and the things we do every day have lost sight and lost track of that. There is no salvation. There is no way to harness, there is no way to fix, there is no way to repair that dysfunctional, broken entity known as the federal government. Why can’t we just make our peace with that and be done with it, folks? For the sake of the next generation, for crying out loud.

Mark Levin Wrong on All Democrats Supporting Nancy Pelosi: Voting for Republicans May be Like Supporting Pelosi for Speaker As Well
While Republicans like Billy Long brag over their pathetic attempt to cut federal spending in the Pledge to America, which rolls back spending to 2008 according to Long, a year Nancy Pelosi ran Congress, Mark Levin is saying a vote for Democrats is a vote for Nancy Pelosi. Considering the Republicans stance in the Pledge to America and only rolling spending back to 2008, it appears voting for Republicans is as near to voting for Pelosi as you can get.
From the Springfield, Missouri News-Leader:
Long would like to see federal government spending rolled back to 2008 levels.
"That would save us $100 billion a year, just by doing that."
While I will agree republicans in control of the House and possibly the Senate is a much better alternative than Democrats, this date of 2008 shows the Republican party has learned little about why voters still have little confidence in the party. They are not conservatives anymore. Why aren't they rolling back spending to before 2000, when republican created surpluses were a fact.
Republicans have got to throw out their neo-con days which they became conservatively liberal republicans. From 2000 to 2008, the federal government grew and spending increased. The republican Pledge to America is simply not acceptable.
Now I started this blog to point out something Mark Levin said on his show that needs to be corrected. Levin said voting for a Democrat is a vote for Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the House. I know this not to be true in two cases.
Obviously the tea party backed Democrat from Idaho Walk Minnick would not have earned this endorsement had he promoted the policies of the last few years of bigger spending under Pelosi's direction in Congress.
As well Democrat Scott Eckersley is on record stating he will not vote for Pelosi as speaker and the Pelosi doesn't represent the interest or the values of his district.

Local 237 Teamster President Gregory Floyd Forcing Union Members to Attend One Nation Rally
I have long said, the very idea of your work be examined as a collective than being rewarded for your accomplishment as an individual on a job is too Marxist for me. That's one of my first turnoffs about labor unions in the United States. This very idea of the collective is well on display this week as the Teamster's president tells its members they have to go to the One Nation rally.
From the Ed Schultz show, Teamsters local 237 president Gregory Floyd in Manhattan is telling his members they have to go to the One Nation rally. HAVE TO GO. Floyd says the rally is for Democrats, and he then says union members have to go, despite their political beliefs. That seems a bit soft tyrannical if you ask me--forcing the collective to participate in a political even they may not believe in. You hard it on the Dead Schultz show.

Vote for Vicky Hartzler in the Latest 10 Buck Friday Poll on Nice Deb's Blog
Since, Missouri's Fourth District is just a few miles from here, and I feel the need to help the conservative cause since it's obvious Billy Long is a political dolt posing as conservative political outsider with deep roots within the establishment who will be nothing more than a puppet for the RINOs, I have decided to help defeat Ike Skelton to help the conservative cause in Missouri. It's kind of the political version of the carbon offsetting carbon credit scam ran by Al Gore, only I am not running any scam.
Today, I am promoting Nice Deb's 10 Buck Friday Poll, which Which Conservative needs your campaign donations to help raise awareness for conservative candidates. While I am not going to tell you how to vote, I do know Hartzler is in a bitter fight against Ike Skelton, who needs to be forced to retire this year. So please check out Nice Deb's blog and participate in her poll.

Since I am a gadget geek going back to the original Palm Pilot with the simple monochrome screen, I thought I would share this workflow to help you choose the Android that is correct for you. Gizmodo created the guide, and while I recommend the Galaxy S, there are others that are less expensive that offer similar functionality.
I am learning how to stream video on mine. I can't wait to use that function for my political endeavors, which will help beat the spin from a particular political campaign that I am learning likes to stretch the truth about my encounters with this particular candidate.
Obamanopoly: New Socialist Spin on the Classic Monopoly Board Game
There is a new spin on the classic board game, Monopoly. Obamanopoly asks:
Do You have What it takes to win in the new economy? Do you have your hand in Cap & Trade? Have you gotten a cushy czar position? Are you a union member? Did you get a bailout?
Do you beleive in Hope and Change?
Obamanopoly is the Property Trading Game for the New Economy! As the only game parodying the dysfunctional politics of Washington and the ridiculousness of our current “leaders,” Obamanopoly is a unique and hilarious twist on the property trading games of the past.
The game sells for $24.95 over the Internet at http://www.obamanopolythegame.com/obamanopoly.
Here's a closeup view of how the classic properties have been changed to fit into the Obama agenda.

New Blunt Campaign Ad Points Out Robin Carnahan's Family Gets over $100 Million in Stimulus for Wind Farm
I have been exposing it for months. Tom Carnahan, Robin's little brother, applied for stimulus money for his wind farms. They received $107 million from the federal government and they will spend this money outside the United States for cheaper wind turbines in hopes of increasing their profits. To make this situation worse, Robin supports raising energy taxes to force more Missourians to use her brother's wind produced energy. This should be considered a crime against Missourians. If Wall Street played on this insider level, they would be put behind bars.
Roy Blunt's latest campaign ad exposes this crime against Missourians perpetrated by the Carnahan family. The final parts of the plan may succeed of Missourians elect Robin Carnahan.
TSA Thugs and Naked Body Scanners: Janet Napolitano Pushes for Globalization of Naked Scanners
USA Today reports Janet Napolitano will push for the globalization of full naked body scanners. She is urging 190 different nations to begin using the scanners, and what do you want to bet the United States will subsidize these scanners around the world, despite Italy now removing these machines from their airports describing them as ineffective.
The woman who was the face of the Christmas bombing failure than led to the push of these machines is not trying to govern globally to push this intrusive technology from the symbol of freedom around the world into countries we claim are not as free as us. Does anyone see the hypocrisy? This is exactly want Benjamin Franklin warned of when he said, "those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither."
So we are sacrificing liberty and freedom here in the United States and we are asking the rest of the world to follow? Don't you miss the days when America encouraged freedom around the world? Now we encourage this police state and we are now doing it on a global scale. When I was a kid, I though Soviet checkpoints were scary. Never in my right mind did I dream the checkpoints in America would become so intrusive that we would allow government thugs to take images of our private parts with the rhetoric to protect liberty and freedom driving the loss of freedom.

Government Developing Communication Tracking Software to Measure Resentment Against the Federal Government: Government is Targeting Veterans in Domestic Terrorist Prevention
An article in Buffalo News caught my eye. It refers to a new tool the federal government is planning or is using to track your communication and analyze the resentment contained in its content.
Before we get into the article, let's look at the timeline that has led to this moment where the Fourth Amendment continues to die a slow death. After 9/11, the Bush administration led the effort to lift restrictions on wire tapping through the Patriot Act to trace terrorists phone calls, banking information, and other actions without a warrant. In those days, it seemed clear terrorists referred to some radical living in a desert, but a few years later as Obama took office, terrorist soon became average Americans with certain bumper stickers on their cars, who support and engage in their Second Amendment right, and are pro-life according to many domestic terrorist reports released in 2009.
These reports justified moving Patriot Act power over normal Americans who are simply patriotic and support the Constitution. Even veterans coming home from war were included in these reports. Now we see veterans are once again targeted by the government's illusion to keep Americans safe. Remember what Benjamin Franklin said, "those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither."
Imagine using the same technology to locate a lone bomber before he carries out his terrorist act and to identify a troubled veteran or first responder ground down by tragedies and violence.
Stop imagining.
Some 120 local first responders from law enforcement and other agencies, the military and mental health professionals gathered Friday to hear firsthand about an advanced computer program that can accomplish those two seemingly different tasks.
The presentation was part of the International First Responder-Military Symposium held at Hilbert College in the Town of Hamburg.
A Swiss professor working with a Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist who heads the Mind Machine Project there outlined how this program operates through computerized scanning of phone calls and electronic messages sent through e-mail and social networking mechanisms.
“Suppose you know there’s a threat to the president when he is visiting, say, Texas. Through information obtained by the National Security Agency, we have the tools to go through huge quantities of data obtained from that area,” said professor Mathieu Guidere of the University of Geneva.
How? “The computer system detects resentment in conversations through measurements in decibels and other voice biometrics,” he said. “It detects obsessiveness with the individual going back to the same topic over and over, measuring crescendos.”
Now remember, Obama attacked Bush for Patriot Act powers, but when he took office Obama directed his administration to increase these powers, even going as far as asking for immunity from lawsuits filed against the federal government for wiretapping. Now we have someone admitting the government is developing software to track phone calls, electronic messages, and even our movements on social media sites. Did you know you are reading a form of social media?
Does that put me on some list because I oppose this oppressive police state I see growing in the United States? I expect some day soon, I may be on the list along with many of my other freedom-loving friends.
How scary is that. A computer system is going to measure the resentment of your protest words against this oppressive form of American government. Tea parties beware! Who is the judge? We are moving closer to this idea of Minority Report pre-crimes, and the federal government is pushing the development of the tools, which clearly violate the Fourth Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Is Billy Long Endorsing Nancy Pelosi?: Billy Long Endorses Nancy Pelosi Spending Levels in Springfield News-Leader

Republicans Endorse Nancy Pelosi With Pledge to America: Mike Church Says Pledge to America is a Pledge to Expand Government... Conservatively
(Audio) MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA - Republican House Minority Leader, John Boehner of Ohio’s 8th Congressional District held a press conference in a Virginia lumberyard today along with other GOP window dressing to unveil their cost cutting measures should they regain majority in at least one house of Congress following the mid-term elections. The Pledge to America outlines how with Republicans in charge by golly, the federal government will get down to the business of creating jobs, in a more “conservative” albeit still inefficient manner.
Pressed by reporters exactly which programs Republicans would cut in order to achieve the much touted spending reductions, Minority Leader Boehner quickly pointed his finger to the sky and began citing well-established catchy Republican talking-points ad nauseam so as to avoid the question while still sounding tough on crime spending.
As the press continued in vain to pry greater detail regarding how cutting 100 billion dollars annually over the next decade provided any hope whatsoever of avoiding an economic catastrophe for a federal deficit now past 13 trillion, Minority Leader Boehner opted instead to put the onus back onto the American people. He answered their inquiry by stating that the people must be willing to have a grown-up conversation with politicians in Washington if the nation is to avoid a financial disaster. Minority Leader Boehner made no mention whether or not indoor voices will be required should such a meeting ever actually come to fruition.

Mike: This is exactly what’s going to happen with what Obama has done, that once the size of the federal leviathan has grown, the nitwits, the DeceptiCons, the fake, phony frauds that call themselves conservatives, that reside in what used to be known as the Republican Party – it’s just a party full of hacks now, with the exception of a few notable exceptions there – that they will claim that, why, we can’t roll all this back. We have responsibilities.
I read you now from the agenda, “A Pledge to America,” the Republican “Pledge to America.” I want you to listen to this. Now, today is either Liberation Day or Mourning Day. Either you’re mourning the death of the Republican Party and have now come fully to grips with what I’ve been telling you for three years now, that there is no hope to save Mordor on the Potomac, it’s over. Let’s bring Bill Paxton in here. You want to hear Bill Paxton, AG?
AG: Always got to go to him.
Mike: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[“Aliens” clip] Bill Paxton [as Private Hudson]: That’s it, man. Game over, man. Game over. What are we gonna to do now? What are we gonna do?
[“Aliens” clip] Bill Paxton [as Private Hudson]: Maybe you haven’t been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal.
Mike: [Laughing] So it’s over. There is no opposition party to ObamaCare. They’ve thrown the towel in on that. But I want to read this to you. Now, keep the ratchet effect in mind. Now, your Republican Party is supposed to be the party of limited smaller government. Remember this. Now, I predicted to you, and again, I’m going to say this again for you people that hate my guts or can’t stand the fact that I’m correct on this, that I do not enjoy this. This is not an enjoyable thing for me to say that I was right. I wish, wish wish wish that I was wrong. I’m not, this is not – I’m not happy about this. I would much rather be wrong and live in a limited government constitutional federal republic than I would be proven correct time and time again. I feel it’s beyond my duty as an entertainer and the host, and your gracious host of this program to play citizen from time to time, and to tell you exactly what I think and where we stand.
We’re screwed. The federal game is over. Your opposition party has mailed it in. We will now be stuck with, just as Higgs predicts and just as I have been informing you, with the size of the government that Nazi Pelosi gave us. These clowns, these Republicans act as if we don’t know that they presided over the largest increase in the size and scope of the federal government in the history of Earth, from 2000 to 2006. And then when Nazi Pelosi took over she just went [mimicking Speaker Pelosi], “Oh, look what they did. We could do more.” And then she took over, and she grew the federal government, and she grew its size and its scope and its powers. And now, just as Higgs has predicted and I have informed you of, the ratchet effect is in effect. You have Republicans now putting in writing that the Pelosi era, the Pelosi-size government will be your government for the rest of your natural-born life. Get used to it.
I don’t believe I’m reading this, seriously. Here’s the headline. I’m reading from their document. “Cut Government Spending to Pre-Stimulus, Pre-Bailout Levels.” Who was running the show during the bailout? It was Pelosi. This was after two years of Pelosi. “With common-sense exceptions for seniors, veterans, and our troops” – oh, yes, keep the military industrial complex fully funded and expanding, the empire must grow, after all, don’t you know – “we will roll back government spending to pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels, saving us at least” – wait a minute, ladies and gentlemen, wait for it, wait for it – “saving us at least” – at least how much? [“Austin Powers” fanfare] “$100 billion.” Gee, Dr. Evil, thanks. A hundred billion [laughing hysterically]. That’s a joke; right? That’s a big joke. You’re a funny guy. That’s a joke; right? Well, it’ll save us a hundred billion “...in the first year alone and putting us on a path to begin paying down the debt, balancing the budget, and ending the spending spree in Washington that threatens our children’s future.” These people are traitors. Paring it down a hundred billion dollars, after it grew by a trillion? Don’t insult my intelligence. 1-866-95-PATRIOT. So you’re toast. I’m toast. Our kids are toast. Game over. Just as Bill Paxton said. Game freaking over.
[“Aliens” clip] Bill Paxton [as Private Hudson]: That’s it, man. Game over, man. Game over. What are we gonna to do now? What are we gonna do?
Mike: So now it’s not just Democrats to play the game to eat out our sustenance. As Patrick Henry said, to send battalions of bureaucrats hither and yon like a swarm over the countryside to eat out our sustenance. They’re all in on it now. 1-866-95-PATRIOT is the telephone number. We’ve asked Robert Higgs to come on the program because I’d love to get his take on this. The book is “Crisis and Leviathan,” and Higgs has been proven correct time and time again. Now, let’s get reaction here. Here is DeceptiCon fake, phony fraud hacks on Fox News this morning, whoa, this plan, the people are finally back in charge, you’re going to hear one hack Republican say. So in order, here’s who we have. We have Michele Bachmann, Shelley Moore, and then Spence Bacchus touting this new agenda, this new Pledge to America.
[Clip] Rep. Bachmann: The GOP has done a good job in listening to the heartbeat of the people right now, which is stop, turn the corner, and focus on job creation. [Mike: Oh, my God, oh, help us.]
[Clip] Rep. Capito: From what I’ve seen, I haven’t seen the whole product yet, but I think it encompasses a broad-based feeling of the loss of jobs, the economy. And we’ve stuck to the issues, I believe, that are most important to people in America trying to put food on their tables.
[Clip] Rep. Bacchus: America became the greatest economy on the face of the Earth, three times bigger than the next largest economy, not by government control, not by the government making decisions, but by the power of the people. This is putting the people back in charge of Washington.
Mike: [Laughing hysterically] That guy’s funny. So Pelosi and Co. spent 3.7 trillion this year, and we’re putting the people back in charge, and we’re only going to spend 3.6 trillion next year, if we get the House back. Oh, that’s putting the people in charge. My, my. Gee. How many hours did you guys stay up, burning midnight oil, to think of that one? 1-866-95-PATRIOT is our telephone number. Wait a minute, who are you telling me – oh, that’s right, that’s right. AG is reminding me. Thanks, AG. Michele Bachmann is the woman that created the Tea Party Caucus in Congress. The first cut you had, oh, the Republicans have done a good job out there, they’ve got their ear out there listening to the American people out there. So this is what the Tea Party Caucus has always wanted. Just as Gov. Palin said the other day, yes, yes, yes, we don’t want to really – we really don’t want to cut the size and the scope of the federal government. No, no, no. We just want Republicans spending the money and appropriating it.
These people are frauds, ladies and gentlemen. They should be sued and prosecuted for being frauds. How many of your neighbors are going to buy this crap hook, line, and sinker? This is absolutely inexcusable. It is wrong. And I tell you this, now, and you heard Senator DeMint on Sunday say, “Well, I really fear, if we get back in the majority, and we don’t do what we say we’re going to do, that that’s going to be the end of the Republican Party.” The Republican Party is over. It’s dead. Stick a fork in it. It’s dead. Now, they may have the apparatus to help some people like Rand Paul or like Joe Miller and a couple other select individuals win federal office. But fixing this thing from the inside out, let’s just be honest, the Constitution is dead. It was a nice run while we had it. It’s over. It’s over.

On Auctioneers Turned Politicians: Interesting Insight into Auctioneer Billy Long
Jim Lee, a conservative blue dog, continues to amaze in his campaign against the auctioneer Billy Long. He equates the Billy Long campaign to Congress to a fast talking used-car salesman, or in this case an auctioneer. As Billy Long attacks lawyers in his campaign rhetoric, it's important to note auctioneers don't have the best reputations for running an honest business. Enough said, here's the Busplunge.
Why do Auctioneers Talk Fast?: So the Bidders Won't Have Time to Think About It
Why do auctioneers talk fast? Mike Brandly cites several reasons-- tradition, economy, the 'yes' factor.
The 'YES' factor? Brandly writes:
As David Palmer, Ph.D, CPA, notes:
“Fortunately, people often say ‘yes’ or agree with requests out of mindless compliance, they are frequently willing to say ‘yes’ automatically without thinking first. It makes their lives simpler and smoother.”
Mindless compliance? How could someone cause someone else to act out of mindless compliance? I think the answer is, “don’t give them a lot of time to think about it.” I’ve discussed with auctioneers all over the United States, and there does seem to be agreement that we talk fast to give the bidders less time, “to think.”
Sound familiar?
If A + B = C ...
A= Auctioneers talk fast to cause someone else to act out of mindless compliance.
B= Billy Long is an auctioneer.
C= Billy Long and his handlers don't have a very high opinion of the voters of the 7th District.

Ike Skelton's Days in Congress May be Numbered Even if He Beats Vicky Hartzler
There is a good chance republicans will maintain their majority in Jefferson City after November. Now the news has been announced that Missouri will probably lose one of their 11 House seats thanks to the Census redistricting Congress, the majority in Jefferson City will help consider what part of Missouri will lose their House seat. Ike Skelton, the Congressman representing an area north of Springfield and Joplin up to Kansas City could be forced into retirement if they find a way to draw the lines.
Of course what may save Skelton is to look at Democratic districts in St. Louis and Kansas City, where a more liberal Democrat sits. That is more than likely, but you have to consider since their are more state legislators coming from those districts, it's obviously going to be a drag down, knock down fight next year to decide which Congressman will lose their job when the new lines are drawn. It will be interesting to watch play out.
The best bet for Missouri's Fourth is to elect Vicky Hartzler to keep the Fourth District out of play.

Obama on Course to Break His No Tax Promise in December Now Democrats are Obviously Not Going to Allow Vote to Extend Bush Tax Cuts
"I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes," promised Barack Obama during the 2008 election.
Yet, Obama's firm pledge has done little to force his Democrats in Congress to force a vote to extend the Bush tax cuts. Rather, Congress voted to run home and campaign than put Americans and the economy before their election hopes.
This was an important pledge for Obama, and it helped bring some fed up republicans over to the other side of the aisle and rallied more around Obama for his sweeping victory. With no surprise, Obama is going to raise taxes on all Americans, and they are going to blame Bush. Steny Hoyer has already given insight to the plan. It's Bush's fault for attaching an expiration date to the tax cuts. Do you really believe this was going to stop the Democrats from raising your taxes? Of course not. This is the easy way, and it's the wrong thing to do. It's wrong to take more job creating income from those people who run small businesses--you know those people Obama labels evil making $250,000 or are a bit more.
Look at how it's going to affect Americans. For starters, it's going to remove a considerable amount of disposable income from their pockets.
For the lowest wage earners, their tax rates will rise 50% from 10% to 15%.
As well, the child tax credit will shrink by 50%.
The marriage penalty returns, so it will be cheaper tax wise to stay single.
Here's how it looks financially for a average American family making $50,000. The federal government will rob you of $3,000 more next year than they took this year. Can you imagine what that is going to do to our economy. Less vacations, less major purchases, less disposable income--our economy is going to further suffer.
Democrats Resort to Prostitution for Attack Ad in Louisiana: Reenactment of Hooker/David Vitter Encounter Highlights Attack Ad
The political races across the country continue to get ugly. In the Louisiana Senate race, an encounter with a prostitute is now part of the political campaign rhetoric record. For Republicans who label themselves family values, there is a target on your back if you don't walk the walk.
The commercial is so racy it is only being aired on cable channels. It's been approved by Rep. Charlie Melancon, and it details an encounter with a prostitute Republican Senator David Vitter in 2007.
And yet, there is talk more scandals will rock family values GOP candidates before November. If you are a family values republican you better walk the walk rather than just talk the talk. The skeletons are coming out of the closet and Republicans don't need anymore Mark Foleys--you can make the case Foley helped lead us to Obamacare.

Bill Maher Calls Most of America Racists Because of Attitudes Towards Obama on Billy O'Reilly's Show
Bill Maher was on Billy O'Reilly's No Spin Zone last night. Forgetting that a nice majority of Americans elected Obama less than two years ago and the economy sucks, Maher simplifies the lack of enthusiasm for Obama to racism.
O’REILLY: But there’s something more in play here, I think, and I just wondered if you had noticed anything about the President’s presentation or the way he goes about his job that you might point to?
MAHER: Well, obviously, people think he’s a little bloodless. I happen to like that in a president. I like a president that uses his brain and not his faith or his heart or his gut as the former president did. I kind of like that in our president. But, you know, again, they don’t brag about their accomplishments and when you downplay the economy, all of the dissatisfaction with him is about the economy. Of course a lot of it is racially –
O’REILLY: You think it’s racially?
MAHER: Almost all of it.
O’REILLY: You‘re on that bandwagon of if you don’t like him, you‘re a racist and you can’t be there. Maher, that’s not you. You can’t be there.
MAHER: Oh, so you don‘t think it’s racially involved at all?
O’REILLY: Of course not. You know, he was elected by 53% of the public and when he took office, his approval was over 70. Come on. Come on!
Anything to escape the truth that Obama has just been a horrible president, right Mr. Maher.
By the way, how many times do you think Billy Long's face is going to show up on this show and Keith Olbermann's show if elected. I sense a poster child in the making.
The Best Information on the Republican's Pledge to America on the Internet: Ron Paul Gives Insight to Why Pledge is a Joke
From the American Conservative:
The Republican Party has a history of using desperate times to call for drastic measures and when bailing out AIG, bolstering Medicare or bombing Iraq, that party has always been willing to go big and bold on some of the largest government expansions in this nation’s history. But what about cutting government? You know, that stuff GOP politicians always talk about during election time?
One might think that in a political environment in which so many are desperate to reverse what they see as unsustainable government growth, Republican rhetoric might at least attempt to reflect that desperation. But when GOP leaders unveiled their “Pledge to America” last week, the only thing revealed is that these Republicans remain what they have always been-pansies. In a nutshell, the old Republican guard now pledges to save America from the excesses of Obama by basically returning to the level of government we experienced under Bush-when these exact same Republicans were doubling the size of government. The pledge reflects little substance, there’s not even anything about a balanced budget amendment or earmarks-two longstanding but fairly tame Republican gripes-and some of it even promotes GOP statism, with promises to repeal and “replace” national healthcare, and of course, to spend even more money on a “defense” budget that already accounts for half the earth’s military spending.
From the Contract with America in 1994 to the Pledge to America last week, the GOP has broken every contract or pledge it has ever made with conservatives. Now these same Republicans have made another empty promise, similar but even less appealing than the lies they’ve told in the past. This “pledge” is a joke.
When asked to give his take on the Pledge to America, Congressman Ron Paul stated the obvious on FOX Business, “I don’t hear enough precise things we would cut. I never hear that the military-industrial-complex should be addressed. I don’t ever hear that the discretionary and non-discretionary funding is all the same. I never hear which departments they really want to get rid of, so, it goes on and on and you just can’t have a little tinkering on the edges… as long as we want big government you can’t tinker with the edges.”
Tinkering indeed. In a Tea Party environment in which so many are tired of conventional GOP politicians screwing around with the peripheral and irrelevant, why shouldn’t conservatives look to the one Republican who has never screwed around? Instead of wondering if John Boehner is now serious, trying to figure out what Sarah Palin is saying, hoping that Scott Brown turns out to be something special, looking for something worthwhile about Newt Gingrich or wondering which version of Mitt Romney might run for president, why shouldn’t those serious about limiting government get fully behind the one conservative leader who has always been dead serious?
Congressman Ron Paul’s pledge to America is over three decades old and was taken the day he was sworn into office, or as he explained during a 2007 Republican presidential debate: “Hello, my name is Ron Paul. I am a congressman from Texas serving in my tenth term. I am the champion of the Constitution.” Virtually every Republican claims to be for the Constitution, but most with the moral authority of a cheating husband claiming to be a champion of marriage. Paul’s unwavering fidelity to this nation’s founding charter and his peers rampant infidelity can measured by the countless votes in which the Texas congressman stood as the sole opposition to the entire House of Representatives. This distinction is important as so many new Tea Party candidates are now criticized by the mainstream for being “extreme” in suggesting that we should follow the Constitution to the letter of the law, including dismantling the IRS, phasing out Social Security or abolishing the Department of Education. Such constitutionally-minded, nuts-and-bolts suggestions should be included in any serious conservative “pledge” to America-and have all been advocated by Paul his entire career.
To that extent that some conservatives may take issue with aspects of Paul’s constitutional philosophy is more often an invitation for self-examination. For example, many say they like Paul but part ways on foreign policy. Fair enough, but in supporting undeclared wars, the PATRIOT Act and forever empowering the Executive branch, such conservatives shouldn’t delude themselves that they actually stand for the Constitution or limited government in any substantive manner. In fact, they stand with the bulk of the Republican Party, who’ve also long made these constitutional exceptions, along with countless others, and not-so-curiously helped expand government every bit as much as the Democrats. Most Republicans claim to be for the Constitution-”but”-with the biggest “but” typically being a ridiculous and unnecessary foreign policy that costs as much as anything else the Tea Party now targets. Paul has always been for the Constitution, period, no “buts” about it.
So how comprehensively constitutional are conservatives willing to be? Those who wrote the Pledge to America obviously aren’t the least bit serious even as the Tea Party continues to show unprecedented conservative will. If the big government establishment now considers the Tea Party too radical, perhaps conservatives en masse should finally and fully consider the constitutional philosophy of the one man that establishment has also long considered too radical-and for the same reasons. There’s a reason Ron Paul’s influence continues to rise in conjunction with the rise of the Tea Party and to the extent that the movement adopts his philosophy, it will pledge itself to limiting government in a far more serious and comprehensive manner than it would listening to any other figure who now speaks in its name.
McDonald's Getting Ready to Cut Employee Healthcare Benefit Thanks to Obama
Obamacare was supposed to solve the insurance crisis in the United States. It appears to be creating another crisis. Of course, we all knew this was going to happen. McDonald's may be getting ready to drop some health insurance coverage from their benefits plan thanks to Obamacare.
From the Wall Street Journal:
McDonald's Corp. has warned federal regulators that it could drop its health insurance plan for nearly 30,000 hourly restaurant workers unless regulators waive a new requirement of the U.S. health overhaul.
The move is one of the clearest indications that new rules may disrupt workers' health plans as the law ripples through the real world.
Trade groups representing restaurants and retailers say low-wage employers might halt their coverage if the government doesn't loosen a requirement for "mini-med" plans, which offer limited benefits to some 1.4 million Americans.
The requirement concerns the percentage of premiums that must be spent on benefits.
While many restaurants don't offer health coverage, McDonald's provides mini-med plans for workers at 10,500 U.S. locations, most of them franchised. A single worker can pay $14 a week for a plan that caps annual benefits at $2,000, or about $32 a week to get coverage up to $10,000 a year.
Last week, a senior McDonald's official informed the Department of Health and Human Services that the restaurant chain's insurer won't meet a 2011 requirement to spend at least 80% to 85% of its premium revenue on medical care.
McDonald's and trade groups say the percentage, called a medical loss ratio, is unrealistic for mini-med plans because of high administrative costs owing to frequent worker turnover, combined with relatively low spending on claims.
Democrats who drafted the health law wanted the requirement to prevent insurers from spending too much on executive salaries, marketing and other costs that they said don't directly help patients.
McDonald's move is the latest indication of possible unintended consequences from the health overhaul. Dozens of companies have taken charges against earnings—totaling more than $1 billion—over a tax change in prescription-drug benefits for retirees.
More recently, insurers have proposed a round of double-digit premium increases and said new coverage mandates in the law are partly to blame. HHS has criticized the proposed increases as unwarranted.
Democrats, looking toward midterm elections in which the health overhaul is an issue, say it already has stopped insurance practices they call abusive, has given rebates to seniors with high out-of-pocket prescription costs and has allowed parents to keep children on their insurance plans until they turn 26.
McDonald's, in a memo to federal officials, said "it would be economically prohibitive for our carrier to continue offering" the mini-med plan unless it got an exemption from the requirement to spend 80% to 85% of premiums on benefits. Officials said McDonald's would probably have to hit the 85% figure, which applies to larger group plans. Its insurer, BCS Insurance Group of Oak Brook Terrace, Ill., declined to comment.
McDonald's didn't disclose what the plan's current medical loss ratio was.
The issue of limited-benefit plans has also hit colleges, which face the same 80-to-85% requirement beginning next year.
"Having to drop our current mini-med offering would represent a huge disruption to our 29,500 participants," said McDonald's memo, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. "It would deny our people this current benefit that positively impacts their lives and protects their health—and would leave many without an affordable, comparably designed alternative until 2014."
The health law expands Medicaid and offers large subsidies to lower-income people to buy coverage, but those provisions don't kick in until 2014.
Federal officials say there's no guarantee they can grant mini-med carriers a waiver. They say the answer may not come by November, when many employers require employees to sign up for the coming year's benefits.
The government is waiting for the association of state insurance commissioners to draft recommendations. The head of the association's health-insurance committee, Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, said she doesn't think these types of mini-med plans deserve an exemption.
"If they are sold as comprehensive coverage, we expect them to meet the same [medical-loss ratio] standards as other health plans," she said.
teven Larsen, the HHS official who received McDonald's email memo, said the department doesn't want employers to drop coverage over the law. The agency says it has already given the carrier for McDonald's and others the chance to seek exemption from new annual limits on benefit payouts.
Insurers say dozens of other employers could find themselves in the same situation as McDonald's. Aetna Inc., one of the largest sellers of mini-med plans, provides the plans to Home Depot Inc., Disney Worldwide Services, CVS Caremark Corp., Staples Inc. and Blockbuster Inc., among others, according to an Aetna client list obtained by the Journal. Aetna also covers AmeriCorps teaching-program sponsors, who are required by law to make health coverage available.
Aetna declined to comment; it has previously indicated that the requirement could hurt its limited benefit plans.
"There is not any issuer of limited benefit coverage that could meet the enhanced MLR standards," said Neil Trautwein, a vice president at the National Retail Federation, using the abbreviation for medical loss ratio.
A spokeswoman for McDonald's said it would look for other insurance options if it couldn't get the waiver. The company's chief people officer for the U.S., Steve Russell, said, "McDonald's will continue to be committed to providing competitive pay and benefits."
The chain has offered a limited benefits plan for more than 10 years. The current version provides outpatient, inpatient, preventive-care and prescription-drug coverage. McDonald's says 85% of participants have less than $5,000 in medical expenses a year.
The new rules at issue apply only to fully insured health plans and not those where the employer absorbs the risk and directly pays out medical claims. The rules wouldn't affect Wal-Mart Stores Inc., for instance, because it is self-insured.
Benefit consultants anticipate that, by 2014, most employers will stop offering mini-med plans. Such plans likely wouldn't meet the definition of adequate coverage for full-time workers. Under the law, midsize and large employers that fail to offer such coverage will have to pay a fine.
Until 2014, workers on mini-med plans would have few affordable alternatives for coverage. According to a survey by the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United, workers without health insurance were three times as likely to visit the emergency room without being able to pay as their counterparts with health insurance.
"The packages maybe could be better, but for a start, they're quite good," said Jerry Newman, a professor at State University of New York at Buffalo, who worked under cover at McDonald's to write "My Secret Life on the McJob." He added: "For those who didn't have health insurance through their spouse, it was a life saver."

Pass the Pork: Billy Long and the Republicans Offering More Government, Just Not as Much Government as Democrats
![]() |
| Billy Long is pledging for more government with the Pledge for America, just not as more government as the Democrats offer. |
I have told you when Billy Long says repeal and replace there's a good chance he is saying Republicans are offering more government, just not as much government as Democrats. More government means a bigger government, and from 2001-2008, Republicans did a good job of growing government and increasing debt. Their Pledge for America promises to return to the height of Republican big spending by only turning the clock back to 2008, and there is the promise of more government in repeal and replace.
Remember, here is Southwest Missouri, Billy Long returned from Washington with a fresh set of talking points directly out of the Pledge for America--turn back spending to 2008 and $100 billion in savings. These were printed in the News-Leader earlier this week.
Mike Church does an excellent job of explaining why Billy Long and the republicans will fail. In his monologue, you hear Church question just like I have why is it repeal and replace rather than just repeal and repeal.
(Audio) MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA – Americans disillusioned by the massive expansion of government under President Obama’s administration, and those with short-term memory loss who are pinning their hopes and dreams on a landslide of Republicans taking back Congress after this fall’s elections take note, its still just more CHANGE you cannot believe in.
Indeed, establishment Republicans have released their to-do list and unless you relish suffering from cognitive dissonance while chanting “end big government” at tea party rallies you will be mightily disappointed. Further buttressing claims that there is little philosophical difference between the two parties save for the route in which they take to achieve their statist machinations, Republicans are seeking to repeal "ObamaCare", only so they might offer their version of massive government intervention into the health care sector, or for those with an affinity for sound bite kitsch, “BoehnerCare”.
Begin Mike Church Show Transcript
Mike: This is it. Boehner and Co. have released a document that tips their hand and tells you where they’re headed and should instruct you that there is no party, none, zero, no political party that stands for limited government, individual liberty and freedom, and the Constitution. They talk a good game, but they’re fakes. They’re liars. They’re hacks. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you will stop what you’re doing right now, let us have a moment of silence for the Republican Party, RIP. [Monks chanting] Shhh, keep it down over there. [Monks chanting]
And there’s your moment of silence. That’s it. The party, literally, is over. How did this happen? Folks, you have got to read – you’ve got to read this. You have to read this. It’s not enough that the preamble to this thing is an insult to all of your founding father intelligence. If you’re going to quote Thomas Jefferson, then quote him. You don’t expropriate Jefferson for your own singular political purposes. I mean, this is embarrassing. But I can’t wait to hear the hackery out there, “Oh, this is a bold plan. Oh, they’re going to trim a hundred billion dollars out of spending next year. You just wait and see, Mr. Church, a hundred dollars makes a big difference. You wait and see. We’re on the course. What are we supposed to do?” The empire, as they call it, is striking back [“Star Wars” theme music]. I’d like to see John Boehner in a Darth Vader costume. I’d like to see Eric Cantor in one of those Death Star General get-ups.
All right, folks. Let me take you back to last Friday’s discussion, to this program, question I posed to Republican Study Committee member, that’s the Republican, the RSC, Republican Study Committee, Marsha Blackburn. I asked her, repeal and replace, or repeal and repeal? And some of you people wondered out loud, why couldn’t she just – why not just say repeal, repeal the damn ObamaCare? Because what we got was a, I don’t know, a twisted answer. Now, Senator Jim DeMint said Repeal and Repeal, because I asked him about it. Here was Congresswoman Blackburn’s answer.
[Clip] Mike: One of the things that we talk about on a daily basis and that I hear on my Facebook page, on my website, in email, is the fear that congressional Republicans are going to attain a majority in January of 2011, and they’re going to adopt something that they’re going to call Repeal and Replace, and that we’re going to get a federally administered healthcare system, but one that is run by Republicans. Will you say to the audience today that Congresswoman Blackburn, as a member of the Republican Study Committee, is a proponent of Repeal and Replace; or, as Senator DeMint called it, Repeal and Repeal?
Rep. Blackburn: We are for repealing the healthcare bill, and we are for giving power back to individuals to make those healthcare decisions. [Mike: Oh, God help us.] And smart women are the drivers on healthcare decisions in their families. What they want is less government interference, less hassle from insurance companies, more accountability with insurance companies. They want to see tort reform take place. And they want to be able to make decisions for their families about their healthcare with the family physician, not with a bureaucrat in Washington, D.C. And that is what I am for. [End clip]
Mike: Okay. Did you get that? I’m not going to answer the question because we’ve got this Pledge for America coming out, and we’re for Repeal and Replace. So now you’re going to have ObamaCare replaced, with a couple of internal engine or internal combustion parts, with BoehnerCare or BlackburnCareCantorCare or WhoeverCare. This is just disgraceful here. Now, either you’re for the repeal of the damn thing, and you’re for the repeal on principle, which should say that the reason that much of the malady and inefficiency that exist in the delivery of medical services today and the expense of it is because, number one, people don’t pay for it. Why don’t they pay for it? Number two, because the federal government subsidizes it; number three, because every man, woman, and child that works in that industry is regulated by the federal government, and that is the root of all medical evil.
So what do we get instead, ladies and gentlemen? Here, I’ll read it to you. Because apparently you people are just not believing this. I didn’t want to believe it, either. Oh, and by the way, we will also get into the massive, massive $100 billion entitlement cut, I mean, $100 billion in discretionary spending they’re going to cut. That will trim Obama’s budget deficit for next year from $1.5 trillion down to 1.4. It’s a sunny day. It is morning in America again; is it not? Here it is, “A Plan to Repeal and Replace the Government Takeover of Health Care.” This is from the document, “A Pledge to America.”
Can we now all end, can we now end the pretensions that human nature is not easily readable, and that you don’t have to be a fortune teller, and you don’t have to be a soothsayer, and you don’t have to have some kind of lofty premonition or lofty ESP to figure out what human nature says that crooked, criminal, political hack politicians are going to do in any given circumstance. That’s how I am able to predict these things to you. I wish I would have been wrong on this one. I was hoping I was going to be wrong. So right here from “A Pledge to America,” here’s what it says, “A Plan to Repeal and Replace the Government Takeover of Health Care.” There it is, big, giant, bold print, 18 points across the top of the page, unmistakable.
