Scott Eckersley Picking Up Conservative and Tea Party Endorsements in Race Against Billy Long
Scott Eckersley already has picked up the endorsement of conservative republican Michael Wardell, but other conservatives are now looking at Eckersley as a conservative alternative to Billy Long. First off, Constitutional Party radio host Dave Levine notes on his blog a strong endorsement of Eckersley. Levine writes:
The Dave Levine Show is enthusiastically endorsing Attorney Scott Ecksersley (D-MO) for Congress in Missouri's 7th District. As someone who is liked by both parties, Eckersley's name has been cleared and his reputation vindicated in the large settlement made by the State of Missouri last year with regards to the Email Scandal that brought down former Governor Matt Blunt. The Independent-minded Eckersley won the Missouri Primary and will face his Republican opponent on November 2nd. Our congratulations to Scott Eckersley for a great win!
As well, Branson entertainers who have participated in the TEA Parties are also giving their endorsements to Scott Eckersely. Jason Hughes from the Hughes Brothers show in Branson has strongly endorsed Eckersely.

Jason Hughes may also be throwing a fund raiser for Eckersley with details expected to come within the next week.

Is Billy Long Keeping His Schedule Confusing to Talk to the Least Number of Voters?
Is the Billy Long campaign worried about media, the bloggers, and possibly the voters? It sure appears that way judging from Long's tweets. Could it be Long is doing all he can to avoid possible run ins with the people prepared to ask Billy the tough questions about why he is running from the debates and other issues?
The reason why I ask is Long posted a tweet yesterday morning letting voters know he will be in five counties. I watched throughout the day to see where he was going to be next, and the tweets never came.
His first tweet read:
Campaign stops in Polk, Lawrence, Greene, Christian and Stone Counties Today - first up 8AM Smith's in Bolivar.

So at 6:00 AM, with virtually no time for anyone to make arrangements to get to Smith's in time to catch Long in Bolivar, Long announces his first "campaign stop." Like I said, throughout the day, Long didn't alert voters where he was going to be next. The Billy Long for Congress Web site also didn't pose any information about these "campaign stops." Now if you want people there, don't you tell them where you are going to be?
Then suddenly towards the evening, Billy Long tweets he's leaving the Tea Party Headquarters.

The problem is Branson is in Taney County, and Billy Long never listed Taney County on his campaign stops. Either the Billy Long campaign is very disorganized and they have no clue where Billy Long is going, or they don't want certain people showing up to where Billy Long in order to keep Billy's mouth shut and away from as many people as possible.
Ted Nugent: Federal Government Wasting Our Tax Dollars Making Example out of Roger Clemons
Fedzilla is taking former baseball pitcher Roger Clemens to federal court on charges that he lied to Congress regarding his previous sworn testimony about using steroids.
Before suing Arizona and launching an investigation against Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the Justice Department launched an investigation against Mr. Clemens when it thought he lied to Congress in 2008 regarding his use of performance-enhancing drugs when he was a big-time ace hurler in the major leagues.
If convicted of slinging bull hockey to Congress, Mr. Clemens could spend some time at a Fedzilla cross-bars hotel and pay a major-league fine. Who knows, maybe his cellmate will be Charlie Rangel.
Shake me, wake me and tell me this has been a maddening scream dream. Say it ain't so, Shoeless Joe.
Being that I'm just a humble, possessed, Motown-funky guitar player, Fedzilla investigating steroid use in Major League Baseball (MLB) deserves to be swatted like a drunk fly with a corked Louisville Slugger at Willie Nelson's annual Texas barbecue.
This investigation and prosecution is but another grotesque insult and waste of our hard-earned tax dollars. Here's an idea: How about leaving this to MLB, which is responsible for investigating cheating players? Instead of Congress investigating Mr. Clemens, I say MLB should put all-time hit leader Pete Rose in charge of the investigation. I've got 20 bucks that says Mr. Rose could get to the bottom of it faster than Congress.
By the time the investigation and trial of Mr. Clemens is signed, sealed and delivered, it will have cost taxpayers millions of dollars. It's no wonder America is broke and our Fedzilla gas pedal is stuck on stupid.
Hey, I'm not advocating that anyone hurl spitballs at Congress, but it's a much more serious crime for the clowns in Congress to burn our tax dollars by investigating steroid use in professional sports and then prosecute a former hurler for lying to them. Car 54, where are you?
Just this morning, while waiting in line to get my caffeine fix at Starbucks, I asked four other caffeine junkies standing in line with me if they thought their tax dollars should be used to investigate steroid use in professional sports. Three quickly replied with a resounding "no" while the other person, mouth agape, stared at me in disbelief and then said, "Are you kidding or are you for real?" One other junkie had the caffeine shakes so bad that he didn't comprehend the question. He clearly hadn't had his first cup of joe yet and obviously needed performance-enhancing caffeine. Nervous yet, Starbucks?
Call me certifiably crazy, but don't we have other, more pressing issues that should take up our congressrats' and federal law enforcers' time?
Here's one: How about our congressrats investigate why there is a big IOU in the Social Security vault and no cash? This is the largest heist in history. The message here is that if you want to be a legalized bank robber, get elected to Congress. We should erect a great big neon sign on top of the U.S. Capitol that says: "Steal here"!
How about our congressrats investigate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and be honest about who received campaign contributions and how much cash from these taxpayer-guaranteed slush funds and how Fedzilla's hands-off approach to managing them created our financial meltdown? Feel free to choke yourself in disgust.
How about our congressrats investigate which members of Congress have blatantly lied to taxpayers about any number of issues? We deserve names and places. I'll spring for the hot tar if you bring the feathers.
I still want to know how much it costs taxpayers for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to fly back and forth across the country in a military aircraft. Surely flying brooms are cheaper.
Congress should drop the charges against Mr. Clemens if he promises to go back to Texas and never poke fun at Congress. It does that well enough on its own. Case closed.

The Missouri State University Standard Calls Billy Long a Moron and Idiot: "Should Be a Separation Between Hick and State"
It didn't take the students at Missouri State long to come up with the realization of who Billy Long really is. In a brutal piece describing the election for a new congressman in the Seventh District, Long takes most of the hits.
The piece called "The Lesser of Two Evils," describes Scott Eckersley rightfully so as conservative and a DINO while calling for a "separation between hick and state" in a clear attack against Billy Long. Obviously written by a liberal student named J.D. Garretson, the author says there is little to celebrate in either candidate, but chooses Eckersley over Long based on the the author's belief Billy Long is a moron and an idiot. (Hey, I didn't write this. I don't even know J.D.) It comes down in the end of a race between two republicans, and Garretson chooses the flip-flopper over the idiot moron.
It's an interesting perspective from the eyes of student as classes get started at Missouri State who notes no major differences in political philosophies between Long and Eckersley. There's some cute language in the piece as well. You have just got to love the line there should be a separation between hick and state.

Every so often, even on the smallest of scales, history repeats itself. I can still remember the heart-rending decision I made way back in 2004, choosing whether to support Kerry or Bush. On the one hand, Bush was the worst president of all time. We all remember that video surfacing that apparently showed him killing an infant and imbibing its blood for power.
On the other hand, John Kerry looked dorky even when he was doing cool stuff. My grandma could hop on a wakeboard and still look kind of rad, but seeing Kerry out on the waves made me think of the time I put my cat on a foam floaty and set her adrift in a wading pool. They both seemed to have the same look of confusion and desperation, the same awkward body language.
I'm at the same crossroads today, but on a smaller level. Voters are never satisfied with their choices, I suppose, but it's getting downright ridiculous. I'm talking, of course, about Scott Eckersley.
Let's get to the important stuff first, the real issues. Like, the dude has a horrible last name. Eckersley is proud of his misfortune, it seems, making a slogan of "Give 'Em Eck!" I should say I usually have a pretty firm rule about voting for people who use the word "heck," and I'm less inclined to like someone who makes a pun of it. But - and maybe this is just because I read Mad Magazine as a kid - all I can picture is Alfred E. Neuman campaigning to "Give 'Em Ecchh!" or something.
It's the most unfortunate advertising since MSU's ill-advised "I Heart New York" rip-off, where they plastered campus with a slogan that seemed to translate to "I Bear MSU." How true, MSU.
This Dem-In-Name-Only flipped parties a few years ago because ideology apparently means little to him. And this supposed fiscal conservative once essentially sued our state, costing taxpayers nearly $2 million, counting legal costs and the settlement.
He was doing the right thing, suing Roy Blunt's Chief of Staff over some Sunshine Law e-mail kerfuffle. But suing the government is sort of like (and by that, I mean literally the same as) suing your neighbors. I see it the same way as I see protesting - sure, it'll make you feel better, but that's only if you ignore the facts that you're accomplishing nothing and generally annoying everyone around you.
So that's the Democrat. An anti-choice fiscal conservative who cost the state millions, whose plan to save the local economy is having a "hard look at the Federal deficit," according to the Springfield Business Journal. He wants to gut health care, can't decide if individual freedom outweighs the threat of terrorism (uh, in Missouri?), and thinks "taxes are too high." (Uh, in Missouri?)
But then there's Billy Long, Eckersley's opponent. I don't vote for anyone who wears a cowboy hat, first off. It's just bad policy - I'm a firm believer in the Separation of Hick and State.
The first thing you'll learn about Billy Long, should you decide to do a little research, is that his webmaster has never heard the word "Favicon." Things seem to go downhill from there - he wants to dictate tax law through the Constitution. He figures, were he in charge, he would scrap health care plans and save you up to 10 percent by outlawing medical malpractice suits, or something.
(Don't worry about losing the house because of the surgery, Granny, just remember we saved up to 10 percent! So, really, those blankets were free. If you think about it, the sicker you get, the more you save!)
The guy is so against a woman's right to choose he wants to block foreign aid to nations that allow the practice. He thinks the current tax code, which allows the gap between the wealthy and the rest of us to grow daily, "penalizes success." And, most damning of all, the goddamn cowboy hat. He's wearing it in every picture! And it's one of those nice ones, too - the kind you can't even work in. I grew up in a honky-tonk, and I'll tell you that kind of cowboy hat would cause many a real cowboy to strap on what they affectionately call their "s-- kicking boots."
Scott Eckersley is an imperfect candidate. He's right-wing and smiles like a goober. He spends too much time trashing the colleagues he's campaigning to work with. But Billy Long is a moron. And when choosing between a flip-flopper and an idiot, I think Kerry/Bush taught us all that we should ignore the shivers in our spines and pick the flip-flopping, dorky lesser of two evils.
(The views of J.D. Garretson don't necessarily reflect the views of Long is Wrong, although we do see Billy Long in a similar light. Garretson forgets to mention Bush graduated from Yale and Billy dropped out of Mizzou after a hard semester and went to auction school, where he learned to talk fast. I never really trusted fast-talking salesmen.)
Obama Lost to This?: Rio Wants Tourists to Enjoy Its Slums

Of course Chicago lost to Rio De Janeiro. There is an interesting story today from NBC about Rio, which further proves just how badly Obama lost in Copenhagen. I guess you could say Obama got his butt handed to him on a silver platter.

RIO DE JANEIRO — Tourists usually try to run from Rio's notorious slums. Now officials are inviting them to come visit instead._
The Santa Marta shantytown on Monday became the first community in a program meant to promote tourism in the poor neighborhoods that are home to some unique music and art work.
The program, "Rio Top Tour: Rio de Janeiro in a Different Perspective," also rewards communities like Santa Marta that have been cleared of the violent drug gangs that have long made Rio's crowded hillsides famously dangerous.
Slum residents will be trained to work as tourist guides, and street signs in English will be posted throughout the shantytown of some 5,000 people, which will have about 30 attractions such as the place where Michael Jackson filmed a video, a samba school and works of local artists, as well as a vista point with a breathtaking view of the city.
"Rio won't be known only for the Christ the Redeemer statue, the Sugar Loaf Mountain or the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches," Brazil's Tourism Minister Luiz Barreto said.
The program created by federal and state authorities includes a marketing campaign and information booths posted in more traditional tourist spots.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visited Santa Marta to officially launch the program, and said he intends to spread the program to other poor communities in Rio and across Brazil.
Considering the American fascination with jumping on buses to look at how the rich live in Hollywood, I have doubts this is going to attract any big dollars from Americans, but I expect liberals like Sean Penn to show up. Who better to exploit the poor for their own personal gain!
Seriously, who wants to vacation and see run down shacks of squalor. I remind you, this is the city Chicago lost to for the Olympic games.

The Chamber invited congressional candidates Scott Eckersley and Long to the forums. Eckersely agreed to the forums and said he would be available and they gave Long nine dates to choose from in order to participate. Nine dates and the Long campaign couldn't agree to one date. This reinforces the idea that Billy Long is dodging debates like a hippie dodged the draft.
The Chamber asked candidates to "present their ideas and key policy priorities" and then take questions from the audience. Obviously, the idea at this point of Billy Long taking questions from a public who is growing more aware of his political ignorance of the issues facing our great Republic scares the Long campaign. Which is probably the reason the nine dates were't convenient enough for Mr. Long.

Tea Party Conservative Endorses Scott Eckersley for Congress: Billy Long is a Coward, and There is No Room for Cowards in America Today
One hundred percent of every vote I have ever cast has been for the Republican candidate. This year will be different. I am a Ronald Reagan conservative who believes America's best days are in front of her. I believe in limited government and personal achievement. I believe in our great Republic and the Constitution that guides her, and it is for these reasons, I cannot cast a vote for Billy Long.
Long doesn't have the courage of Ronald Reagan. He doesn't have to political understanding of Ronald Reagan, nor does Billy Long understand the issues that face our great Republic. Watching him run from the debates and interviews shows me Billy Long is a coward. There is no room for cowards in the conservative ranks, and there is no room for cowards at this moment in American history when so much is on the line. What happened to the days in which character mattered in the Republican party?
Over the past few weeks, I have gotten to know Scott Eckersely, the former conservative Republican running on the Democratic ticket. Eckersley hasn't bought into the party rhetoric. He has served in state government fighting corruption and winning. Billy Long only can say he is fed up and he kisses the butts of the same people he claims to be fed up with.
Yes, for the first time in my life, I will mark the ballot where for the D candidate, but I do so after hours of conversation with Eckersely. I know he will not be a rubberstamp for the Obama Pelosi agenda. He has promised the people of Southwest Missouri his first vote will not be for Pelosi as speaker. Even more amazing, Eckersely stood up in front of his Democratic supporters and told them he would not have voted for Obamacare, and then listed his reason why.
Eckersley has a better understanding of the issues that face our great Republic that Billy Long, who continues to hide this weakness by running from debates and serious issues. He will be an independent thinker, where as Long has already been bought by the establishment, special interest, and his big money supporters.
Eckersley has fought for Missourians for ethics in government. He has fought against his own party, and he survived the games they played to tarnish his image. In the truest sense of the word, Eckersely is a true tea party candidate. The DNC hasn't welcomed Eckersely to the party after his primary win, and the Republican party already kicked him out. He isn't going to Washington to represent the DNC or RNC. He is going to Washington to represent the people of Southwest Missouri. That's why I am endorsing Scott Eckersely for Congress.

Polls Show Obamacare Still Unpopular: A Sebelius Brainwashing Ahead for Americans
Polls still show Americans don't want Obamacare. The hugely unpopular government takeover of the Republic's healthcare system is costing Democrats seats this year in Congress, but never fear, Kathleen Sebelius is ready to brainwash Americans one more time. Obamacare good! Say it after me. Obamacare good!
“Unfortunately, there still is a great deal of confusion about what is in [the reform law] and what isn’t,” Sebelius told ABC News Radio in an interview Monday.
With several vulnerable House Democrats touting their votes against the bill, and Republicans running on repeal, Sebelius said “misinformation given on a 24/7 basis” has led to the enduring opposition nearly six months after the lengthy debate ended in Congress.
“So, we have a lot of reeducation to do,” Sebelius said.
Reeducation? Isn't that a Soviet/communist concept for when some people didn't go along with the collective who were forced by the Soviet government?
What's next? Purges through some healthcare rationing perhaps?

Big Brother Enters California Preschool: Tracking Devices for Students
Preschool students in Contra Costa County, California, are getting their first taste of Big Brother at an early age. Officials have begun attaching tracking devices to the children to help the preschool save staff time and money. Interestingly enough, safety wasn't mentioned on this one. Usually safety is always mentioned in these articles.
The students will put on a jacket when they arrive. The jacket sends a radio frequency to daycare providers that lets the provider know where they are at, if they have arrived, and if they have eaten or not. It sounds like to me the jacket promotes laziness with the preschool workers, and does little more.
School officials say it will free up teachers and administrators who previously had to note on paper files when a child was absent or had eaten.
Guess whose paying for this little system? I guess when I put it that way, you can easily guess. The federal taxpayer! The preschool received a $50,000 federal grant to begin conditioning these children to Big Brother devices.

New Study Shows Heavy Drinkers Outlive Non Drinkers
Here's some good news for Billy Long! A new study shows that heavy drinkers outlive non drinkers. However, the study is misleading to say the least. Heavy drinking isn't going to make you healthier. According to the study, which I have my doubts about, it just means you have more money to deal with health issues when they arise.
Moderate drinking, which is defined as one to three drinks per day, is associated with the lowest mortality rates in alcohol studies. Moderate alcohol use (especially when the beverage of choice is red wine) is thought to improve heart health, circulation and sociability, which can be important because people who are isolated don't have as many family members and friends who can notice and help treat health problems.
But why would abstaining from alcohol lead to a shorter life? It's true that those who abstain from alcohol tend to be from lower socioeconomic classes, since drinking can be expensive. And people of lower socioeconomic status have more life stressors - job and child-care worries that might not only keep them from the bottle but also cause stress-related illnesses over long periods. (They also don't get the stress-reducing benefits of a drink or two after work.)

But why would abstaining from alcohol lead to a shorter life? It's true that those who abstain from alcohol tend to be from lower socioeconomic classes, since drinking can be expensive. And people of lower socioeconomic status have more life stressors - job and child-care worries that might not only keep them from the bottle but also cause stress-related illnesses over long periods. (They also don't get the stress-reducing benefits of a drink or two after work.)

Arne Duncan Urges Department of Education Staff to Attend Al Sharpton Rally
Want to know why education is such a mess? The liberals are running the show. Take for instance the latest shenanigans coming from the Department of Education.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan, the failed Chicago schools supervisor, recently urged staff in the Department of Education to attend an Al Sharpton rally. How this benefits our Republic's students is beyond me.
"ED staff are invited to join Secretary Arne Duncan, the Reverend Al Sharpton, and other leaders on Saturday, Aug. 28, for the 'Reclaim the Dream' rally and march," began an internal e-mail sent to more than 4,000 employees of the Department of Education on Wednesday.
But the Sharpton Reclaim the Dream rally had little to do with being purely about the great Martin Luther King. Rather it was a retaliation rally to Glenn Beck's weekend rally also held in Washington, DC, this past weekend.

"Embarrassed You Voted for Obama Yet?" Sign Shows Up South of Springfield and Ozark, Missouri
A billboard in one of the most conservative republican areas in the country is causing controversy. I am not sure why based on what I just told you.
The sign sits in Highlandville area on the way back from Branson, Missouri. The sign simply says, “Vote for Obama? Embarrassed Yet?”
I don't see what's so controversial, but that's what the good folks at KY3 called it. I think it reflects the mood of the country, as we have found all Obama's policies to be a complete failure as more Americans face unemployment. What should we continue to build this guy up to be something he isn't? He's a failure and those who voted for him should be embarrassed as the change he has brought has been a worsening of the economy, unemployment, and the national debt. Now higher taxes are on their way as well.

HIGHLANDVILLE, MO -- Billboard after billboard along U.S. 65 vies for your attention and dollar. It's the newest message along the way, however, that’s becoming a hot topic for voters of all leanings. The questions posed to tens of thousands of motorists each day by the billboard ask, “Vote for Obama? Embarrassed Yet?”
Several residents say the sign serves as a rallying point for disgruntled voters.
“The way a lot of people feel, there’s a lot of people not going to vote for him who voted for him last time," said Cynthia Todd.
Supporters of the President and his politics were quick to defend him.
“I know the president didn't win down here, but there were a lot of people down here that voted for him, and I think I can speak for them and say we are not embarrassed yet,” said Matthew Patterson, executive director of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee.
Regardless of their political views, this billboard is stirring up emotions of some sort in a lot of residents.
“You wonder what motivates people to do that, what kind of hatred is involved, or [if] they're just mad the president won his election a year-and-a-half ago,” said Patterson.
Ronald Todd, a resident who’s taking a more neutral stance on the debate, said “One of our rights under our original constitution was our right to express, our freedom to express our opinions about our government.”
But the question many are asking in return is, “Who's behind it?”
A close look at the sign reveals the words “Paid For”, followed by a small logo for Commercial One Brokers. Records show the company is a major real estate firm in Branson. Commercial One was not able to return our calls for comment.
This same sign, paid for by others, has also popped up in Marshall, Texas.
Some say the billboard is un-American. Others see it as the ultimate expression of what this nation's about.
“I served in the Marine Corps to preserve this country and freedoms, and I’m glad we still live in a country where we can still voice our opinions on political views," said Todd.
UnAmerican? Have you read the First Amendment? It's totally American! I applaud Commercial One Brokers for their investment.
Text Message Billy Long and Tell Him You Are Fed Up With Him Running From the Debates
Never in my nearly forty years of life has a mid-term election been more important. We need real leadership in Washington, DC. Leadership that understands the problems this country faces beyond rehearsed talking points. We need solutions. We cannot continue down this road and expect our children and grand children to have the same opportunities that we have experienced.
That's why we must set aside political titles like Republican or Democrat this election. Both parties are guilty in increasing the size of government and our national debt. An elephant and a donkey isn't a symbol of salvation for our country.
Voters need an honest exchange of ideas between candidates through debates and other formats which allow them to see the leadership qualities, their political knowledge and solutions they offer, and the character of the candidates. Republican Billy Long wants to rob voters of this opportunity to give voters in Southwest Missouri a chance to watch all three candidates engage in a political debate to show which candidate is best prepared to represent our district and fight the leviathan in Washington, DC.
Why is Billy Long running from the debates? Could it be because he isn't prepared to lead in Washington and he hopes to hide that fact from voters? Our district and our great Republic deserves better. What is on the line this year is far more important that Billy Long's personal ambitions for power. However, Billy Long doesn't see it that way, which is why he is running from the debates. For Long, he is running for self-serving reasons, and if he cared about voters, he would allow voters to see his strengths and weaknesses in debates so they can make up their mind who is best ready to lead our district. We have had enough of self-serving politicians, and it's time we elect people who put our Repuplic first to benefit liberty and freedom for all Americans.
That's why I am asking voters across Southwest Missouri to do one simple thing. Text message Billy Long and let him know you are fed up of him running from the debates. Let him know this is a far too important time in our Republic's history to send someone who is hiding their weaknesses from the voters in hopes money and politics as usual win on November 2. If you are truly fed up, then don't give Billy Long a blind look and vote for him because he says he is fed up too. Tell Billy Long he needs to debate to prove to Southwest Missouri he is truly ready to fight the Obama/ Pelosi agenda.

The TEA Party demands accountability and transparency in government. Billy Long provides neither in his campaign. My question for TEA partiers is simple, based on your platform, why is this acceptable when your platform is based on a lack of trust of our elected officials in Washington, both Republican and Democrats.
Sure, I bet Billy Long is a real nice guy when he stops by your headquarters, but does he allow you a real look inside the candidate? Does he let you see that he is part of the establishment most TEA partiers are sick of as they are looking to return to a government that is held accountable? This is what I don't understand about Southwest Missouri TEA partiers, who appear to support Billy Long for Congress.
You want someone with a real record of standing up against government while demanding accountability and transparency, Scott Eckersley is clearly that candidate. What the D behind his name upsets you? Well, don't let it. Eckersley is on record telling other Democrats he will oppose Nancy Pelosi as speaker and he would not have voted for Obamacare. He was once a Republican before being cast out of the party for trying to clean it up.

Did RINO Billy Long Pull His $100,000 Self Financing Money from His Campaign so He Doesn't Have to Spend His Own Money?: Billy Long, Addicted to OPM
It appears RINO republican Billy Long has pulled the $100,000 of his own money out of his election fund. OpenSecrets.org shows Billy Long has $0 in self financing, which is odd since Billy Long put in $100,000 of his own money after announcing he was running for Congress to become the instant money leader so people would take him seriously as a candidate.
As predicted, it was obvious Billy Long was never going to spend his own money to get to Congress. That was all a gimmick, just like Billy Long himself and Long's promises to debate. Billy Long only likes OPM, other peoples' money. He's addicted to it, which makes him an even scarier candidate. First of all, his political knowledge is so lacking, his handlers are talking for him and he is avoiding the media and debates to keep from exposing that he really doesn't understand the issues. Now you mix that with the fact Billy Long's record shows he is addicted to other peoples' money and that he isn't as fiscally responsible as his rhetoric, and Long will be everything he promises he's not. Remember, Billy Long loved earmarks while he was on the Springfield Branson airport board, and it's been only recently that Billy acts like he is fed up.
Alaska Man Arrested for Carrying an Impeach Obama Sign at the Alaska State Fair
A man was arrested at the Alaska State Fair for bringing his Impeach Obama sign to the fair. The man was peacefully holding the sign when he was approached by security guards who asked him to remove the sign. He then was forcefully removed from the public access area at the fair.
Remember, these are security guards who are assaulting this man. The one Billy Long sized security guard squashes the poor man as a debate beings in the background on the First Amendment over these security guard's actions. Remember, as the security guards were squashing this man, his only crime was carrying an impeach Obama sign. The actions of these security guards is shameful.
Notice at 7:19, an Obama lookalike has an American flag belt buckle (or whatever). What a sad way to wear something that symbolizes the sacrifice by others so this man can peacefully protest against the Obama regime.
There is just no need for this in America, where free speech is supposedly protected. Notice the people in the background ask what this man has done wrong, and they don't answer him. He soon begins yelling impeach Obama. In the end, the sad truth that the First Amendment isn't always given in the United States is proven as this man is hauled off for jail for doing nothing more than holding a sign saying impeach Obama.
Ron Paul Will Introduce Bill to Audit Nation's Gold Reserves
Fort Knows and the New York Federal Reserve are about to get a dose of Ron Paul. Paul, who wrote popular legislation to audit the Federal Reserve, now wants to audit the nation's Gold Reserve.
“Our Federal Reserve admits to nothing, and they should prove all the gold is there. There is a reason to be suspicious, and even if you are not suspicious, why wouldn’t you have an audit?” said Paul.
Paul served on the gold commission in the 1980s. He recommended then as well to audit the nation's gold supply. He was outvoted 15 to two, so the audit was never accomplished.

Republican Ed Martin Shows His RINO Stripes: Says He Would Support a Second FDR Style Stimulus
Ed Martin was recently on the Charles Jaco show in the St. Louis area. Jaco asked Martin about government stimulus, and the answer Martin gave was shocking considering his party affiliation.
MARTIN: I live in South City, and you drive down on River Des Peres and you'll see in the bricks the WPA symbol. And what we didn't do -- we took $1.2 trillion in the stimulus -- we didn't do shovel ready jobs.
JACO: Would you have been in favor of those kind of things -- maybe a son of the WPA -- to put people to work immediately on public-sector construction jobs.
MARTIN: Emphatically yes. I mean, emphatically yes. And I think places like Highway 21 in Jefferson County, they're desperate to finish the roads. The federal government has a role to play, and I think you and I can talk about how big or small the role is. But public level infrastructure, I think we should have done that. We would have put, put people together. I mean, we built the Zoo, we built the memorials. We should have said -- and even during the WPA, we sometimes said -- if workers need 20 hours each to build a 40 hour because we have two men that need a job, in this case two men and women, we'll split it up. You get 20 each. I'm emphatically for that.
So there you have it... a republican calling for a FDR styled stimulus plan. Jaco seems confused that Martin goes this far, and even calls him on it later in the interview. So Martin hits some conservative themes in this interview, but it doesn't forgive him for calling for a new FDR like stimulus plan which would continue to increase the size of the federal government.
In another story related to the 7th District, Democrat Russ Carnahan is running from debates like Billy Long. Billy Long sure does have a lot in common with the Democrats doesn't he? I wonder how Billy Long feels about Carnahan not being man enough to debate Martin? Something tells me we won't be hearing Long's opinion on that one anytime soon.

It has been confirmed by a Southwest Missouri Republican insider, Billy Long is dodging debates like liberal hippies dodge the draft.
I was contacted by a long-time Republican insider Friday night who exposed the Billy Long campaign strategy. He calls the Billy Long campaign a mess while confirming what most of us have expected all along, Billy Long is running from the debates.
The insider said it's official Long strategy to agree to the debates, but the Long campaign never intends for Billy Long to debate. Rather they will drag their feet and make debating impossible while pointing fingers as Scott Eckersley as being impossible to deal with. They hope this will frustrate voters and Eckersley and the talk of debates will just go away.
As well, the Long campaign is intentionally keeping Billy away from the media as much as possible. They know Billy Long isn't strong on the issues, and know that will be exposed the closer we get to the general election if Billy Long is easily accessible.
So it is amazing Billy Long went on KSGF at all last week. However, Billy controlled the interview and managed to keep the interview all over the place to keep the average listener confused. We do have a revealing soundbite that parallels what the insider told me. From the KSGF interview (this is where Long shows he is short tempered):
BL: Sure it could happen, I mean the way it is going, and, and, and if you know what he says is not accurate, I’m only gonna, you know, go along so long without havin’ somebody misrepresent things and say things---give you one example: we’re at the Farm Bureau the other night and we’re doin’ our interviews for their endorsement.
NR: uh huh.
BL: Ok, they’re 30 minute. Jay Wasson 6:30 to 7, he goes in, does his. I pass him in the parking lot as I’m walking in, I’m 7-7:30. I don’t know who’s coming after me. The candidates are not supposed to be in together, they’re not supposed to hear each other. So, I do my 30 minutes. I walk out of the building, I’m standing out, we’re just on the back steps of the Darr Center, over here, talking to Anson Elliott, from MSU, you know, about agricultural things that are happening at MSU. One of my aides is with me, so there’s three of us standing there. The door behind me, bang, the door flies open, Scott Eckersley dives out at me, shakes, puts his hand out, big smile, hey, hey, and I turn around, shake hands say how are you , you know, and he said hey, we need to get those debates goin’, we need to get those debates goin’. And I said, I said, we just had them Scott, you’re late, they were in there, I just got done, you just missed the debate. You know, just being, just being jovial, friendly, upbeat like I am. He puts on his twitter page—ran into Billy Long at the Farm Bureau, asked him about the debates he said he was late and he had to leave and he took off! Come on! You know I mean, there’s only, you know I ran for 18 months in the Republican primary never running against my opponents. I told who I was, what I was, what I did, what I wanna do in Washington and that’s what I want this to be.
On another note, the Republican insider also told me the political shenanigans are starting to happen within the Republican Central Committee as Billy Long begins paying back political favors owed during the primary. Billy Long the political insider playing the political outsider is already acting like a career politician making sure his friends are taken care of.
According to the insider, Gordon Kinne, a key Long supporter and donor, having never served on the central committee was moved up all the way to the chairman of the Republican Central Committee. The writing is on the wall on this one. Billy Long once again shows he isn't above politics as usual.
St. Louis Schools' Parents Getting Paid $900 to Make Sure Their Children Go to School
The St. Louis public school system took a program that was already tried and took it a step further. If you remember last school year, iPods and other gadgets were offered to children who regularly attended class. Now St. Louis public schools offer cash to children with good attendence records.

For the first time, a local organization is offering parents a cash incentive to enroll their children at Jefferson. The money is limited to students who didn't attend the school last year. To get it, the kids must finish this semester with near-perfect attendance and receive no out-of-school suspensions; the parent must attend three PTO meetings. The program is being offered to families in three mixed-income housing complexes surrounding the school, where most of the students live.
"It's an awesome deal," Wright said. "A lot of us can use that money. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it makes a big difference."

Did Republican Billy Long Lie About Taking the Family to Las Vegas?: Rumors of Vegas Evidence Could Hurt Long's Chances to Congress
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Well, that is unless you are RINO Republican Billy Long who spent most of the primary denying gambling allegations going as far as claiming he never stepped foot in a casino to some key donors. As you know, after Scott Eckersley challenged Billy Long to ten courthouse debates, which the Long campaign agreed to, Long took off to Las Vegas for what Royce Reding called a 'family vacation' in the News-Leader.
Ah yes, this idea of a family vacation was to create family values pathos for the scarred RINO, whose reputation for high-stakes poker games was beginning to catch up with him on the campaign trail. The campaign hoped Long could quietly visit Las Vegas without being caught, but now since he is officially a federal candidate, he is being tracked and the dirt is coming out.
Rumors are there is evidence that officially proves Billy Long was not in Las Vegas with his family as the campaign noted during a News-Leader story. While this evidence has not been presented to me, so I don't know if its pictures, video, witnesses or what, I have been told the evidence could rock Billy Long's chances to become Southwest Missouri's next Congressman as people begin to discover the Long campaign hasn't been truthful about debates and Long's Vegas vacation.
As well, I don't know who holds this evidence. I do know Democrats were tracking Billy Long in Vegas and they have provided some details of Billy Long's Vegas trip, which I will describe below. I also know a former Republican congressional candidate who now opposes Long used to live in Las Vegas and has friends in high places and who work security in the casino Long visited. This is the same candidate who provided the World Poker Tour tip earlier this year.
So far, here's what we have that suggests Billy Long's family did not go with him to Las Vegas:
Billy Long was seen leaving Springfield without his family on a direct flight from Springfield to Las Vegas on Allegiant Air's Saturday flight. Within' days, local Democrats were talking within their ranks of Billy Long's gambling habits noting he went to Las Vegas immediately after the primary. Then the blogs published the story Billy Long went to Vegas rather than stay at home and unite a divided Republican party.
It was confirmed early in the week that Billy Long was staying at the MGM Grand casino and had one room. It was later confirmed that Billy Long added a second room during his Vegas stay, possibly to make it appear like family was in Vegas with him after the news broke. Also, it was noted by the MGM phone receptionist that Billy Long checked out early. Rather than stay overnight, Billy Long took a flight with a layover in Los Angeles and arrived back in Springfield at 7:30 PM Thursday night rather than take a Friday morning direct flight to Springfield the following day. Witnesses at the airport who saw Long arriving from the airport said he wasn't with his family either.
So there are a number of questions obviously that need to be asked as it appears the Billy Long campaign has been caught in another lie. How can we trust Billy Long in Washington, when he can't even be honest about his family life and what he does or doesn't do with his family?
Why did Billy Long check into the MGM Grand with one room and later rented an additional room?
Why was he seen on the airplane to Las Vegas without his wife?
Why was he seen at the Springfield Branson National Airport without family after arriving from his flight from Las Vegas, which has a layover in Los Angeles?
Why did he not take a direct flight to Springfield and stay overnight in Vegas for a few more hours?
Why was the MGM receptionist ready to connect people to his room and then was suddenly surprised he checked out early?
Most importantly, what is this evidence that will prove Billy Long lied about his trip to Las Vegas, that indeed it was not a family vacation?
Will Billy Long's own family be able to prove they went to Las Vegas with Billy when the evidence reveals itself?

That's why we must set aside political titles like Republican or Democrat this election. Both parties are guilty in increasing the size of government and our national debt. An elephant and a donkey isn't a symbol of salvation for our country.
Voters need an honest exchange of ideas between candidates through debates and other formats which allow them to see the leadership qualities, their political knowledge and solutions they offer, and the character of the candidates. Republican Billy Long wants to rob voters of this opportunity to give voters in Southwest Missouri a chance to watch all three candidates engage in a political debate to show which candidate is best prepared to represent our district and fight the leviathan in Washington, DC.
Why is Billy Long running from the debates? Could it be because he isn't prepared to lead in Washington and he hopes to hide that fact from voters? Our district and our great Republic deserves better. What is on the line this year is far more important that Billy Long's personal ambitions for power. However, Billy Long doesn't see it that way, which is why he is running from the debates. For Long, he is running for self-serving reasons, and if he cared about voters, he would allow voters to see his strengths and weaknesses in debates so they can make up their mind who is best ready to lead our district. We have had enough of self-serving politicians, and it's time we elect people who put our Repuplic first to benefit liberty and freedom for all Americans.
That's why I am asking voters across Southwest Missouri to do one simple thing. Text message Billy Long and let him know you are fed up of him running from the debates. Let him know this is a far too important time in our Republic's history to send someone who is hiding their weaknesses from the voters in hopes money and politics as usual win on November 2. If you are truly fed up, then don't give Billy Long a blind look and vote for him because he says he is fed up too. Tell Billy Long he needs to debate to prove to Southwest Missouri he is truly ready to fight the Obama/ Pelosi agenda.

As predicted, it was obvious Billy Long was never going to spend his own money to get to Congress. That was all a gimmick, just like Billy Long himself and Long's promises to debate. Billy Long only likes OPM, other peoples' money. He's addicted to it, which makes him an even scarier candidate. First of all, his political knowledge is so lacking, his handlers are talking for him and he is avoiding the media and debates to keep from exposing that he really doesn't understand the issues. Now you mix that with the fact Billy Long's record shows he is addicted to other peoples' money and that he isn't as fiscally responsible as his rhetoric, and Long will be everything he promises he's not. Remember, Billy Long loved earmarks while he was on the Springfield Branson airport board, and it's been only recently that Billy acts like he is fed up.

I was contacted by a long-time Republican insider Friday night who exposed the Billy Long campaign strategy. He calls the Billy Long campaign a mess while confirming what most of us have expected all along, Billy Long is running from the debates.
The insider said it's the official Long strategy to agree to the debates, but the Long campaign never intends for Billy Long to debate. Rather they will drag their feet and make debating impossible while pointing fingers as Scott Eckersley as being impossible to deal with. They hope this will frustrate voters and Eckersley and the talk of debates will just go away.
As well, the Long campaign is intentionally keeping Billy away from the media as much as possible. They know Billy Long is weak on the issues, and know that will be exposed the closer we get to the general election if Billy Long is easily accessible.
So it is amazing Billy Long went on KSGF at all last week. However, Billy controlled the interview and managed to keep the interview all over the place to keep the average listener confused. We do have a revealing soundbite that parallels what the insider told me. From the KSGF interview (this is where Long shows he is short tempered):
BL: Sure it could happen, I mean the way it is going, and, and, and if you know what he says is not accurate, I’m only gonna, you know, go along so long without havin’ somebody misrepresent things and say things---give you one example: we’re at the Farm Bureau the other night and we’re doin’ our interviews for their endorsement.

BL: Ok, they’re 30 minute. Jay Wasson 6:30 to 7, he goes in, does his. I pass him in the parking lot as I’m walking in, I’m 7-7:30. I don’t know who’s coming after me. The candidates are not supposed to be in together, they’re not supposed to hear each other. So, I do my 30 minutes. I walk out of the building, I’m standing out, we’re just on the back steps of the Darr Center, over here, talking to Anson Elliott, from MSU, you know, about agricultural things that are happening at MSU. One of my aides is with me, so there’s three of us standing there. The door behind me, bang, the door flies open, Scott Eckersley dives out at me, shakes, puts his hand out, big smile, hey, hey, and I turn around, shake hands say how are you , you know, and he said hey, we need to get those debates goin’, we need to get those debates goin’. And I said, I said, we just had them Scott, you’re late, they were in there, I just got done, you just missed the debate. You know, just being, just being jovial, friendly, upbeat like I am. He puts on his twitter page—ran into Billy Long at the Farm Bureau, asked him about the debates he said he was late and he had to leave and he took off! Come on! You know I mean, there’s only, you know I ran for 18 months in the Republican primary never running against my opponents. I told who I was, what I was, what I did, what I wanna do in Washington and that’s what I want this to be.

Is Republican Billy Long a Great American or Cowardly Lion?
As a concerned citizen, I see what both the republican party and the democratic parties have done to our great Republic. I am worried about the long-term effects of the Obama Pelosi agenda as well. I have only voted for Republicans since I was 18, but I think voting for Billy Long simply because he is a republican is irresponsible considering what our great Republic faces.
Billy Long needs to prove to Southwest Missouri he is ready to face the challenges that lie ahead for our great Republic to return her to all her glory. A two-word slogan isn't proof enough Billy Long has what it takes to do what is necessary in Washington, DC. Billy Long may be fed up, but being fed up doesn't offer real solutions to our country's woes.
That's why Billy Long should want to debate. If Billy Long loves our country like he says he does, then he should show his passion for the great City on the Hill and prove to voters he has what it takes to bring about positive change in DC through a political process that includes a deep analysis of his knowledge of the issues that face our Republic and have the solutions (if any) he offers not only picked apart by his opponent, but by the voters as well.
George Patton once said, "Americans love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle." However, Billy Long is running from the debates like a coward or a liberal hippie running to Canada to dodge the draft. Show us you are a true American Mr. Long who loves his country enough to let the voters have a clear examination of your political and moral soul. Give them the confidence that you understand what this country faces and you are the best choice to solve America's problems.
Running from the debates Mr. Long is not only unAmerican, it's cowardly.
If you really love your country Mr. Long, then you will give the voters a real chance to see who is most prepared to fight in Washington so our lives in Southwest Missouri can be improved and the health of country is restored. Anything less would be selfish on your part Mr. Long, especially at this time in our Republic's history. Mr. Long, you should love your country so much, that you aren't afraid to show your weaknesses in a debate, even if they mean you don't get elected, so our great Republic is benefited by sending that most qualified to Washington to fix all that is broken and return our country to its Constitutional origins.
