Russian Spies Arrested in NJ

Eleven people accused of operating a Russian spy ring have been arrested in New Jersey. Experts close to the situation say it was a long-term attempt to slowly infiltrate the government. Russia has angrily denounced the arrests saying it was an unjustified throwback to the Cold War.

The White House claims that President Obama knew of the situation and was up to date on it. Obama said, "I do not believe that this will affect the reset of our relationship with Russia." The State Department agreed with him saying that we shouldn't be surprised that there are Russian spies in the country and it just proves we need to continue to improve our relationship with them.

The Justice Department, who announced the arrests on Monday, thinks differently. Justice officials described the arrests as "the tip of the iceberg" of a Russian intelligence conspiracy against the US.

So which one should we believe? The White House that has no experience in handling spies or the department that has worked on similar cases for over 140 years.

White House Pres Secretary Robert Gibbs made a surprising statement on the topic saying, "This was a law enforcement action and law enforcement acted appropriately." This is the first time I can recall this administration applauding law enforcement.

Kagan Hearings.... Boring

Elena Kagan's Supreme Court confirmation hearings began yesterday. There wasn't much of interest to talk about. A lot of dodging questions and of course plain out fibbing. As with many similar hearings or summits I find myself bored. Apparently, so was Democrat Senator Al Franken.

Franken was found at his desk during the hearing drawing a portrait of GOP Senator Jeff Sessions, who was consumed in debate over the nominee.

Instead of focusing on the question dodging and poor performance by Kagan, the media is focusing on this aspect of the hearing. The media is writing stories focusing on Franken's "impressive" art talents despite a very inexperienced woman is close to being appointed to the highest court in the land.

Billy Long's Radio Record Leaves Plenty of Questions About Long's Commitment to Pro-Life Causes and Candidates

As most of us know, the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee ignored Jack Goodman and Gary Nodler's strong pro-life record in the Missouri legislature and endorsed Billy Long based on comments he made on the radio. Long now boasts of his radio days as his pro-life record. He made the following comments earlier this week in Joplin as he accepted the endorsement.

“During the 6 years as a talk show host, I’ve made my standing on abortion - I’m 100 percent pro life – ever since I found out what an abortion was,” Long said.

I am glad Long brought up his radio record, because we are going through hours and hours of tapes a listener made of Billy Long's radio show on KWTO. There are some major inconsistencies in Long's claim of being pro-life and actual comments he made on the radio. These comments go back to the heated gubernatorial race between Claire McCaskill and Matt Blunt.

Back in those days, Billy Long was quite critical of the pro-life candidate, Matt Blunt. He was also praising of the pro-choice candidate as well. I am quite eager to play Billy Long's praises of Claire McCaskill to key GOP party members from his KWTO days. All the while Long attacks Blunt for many of his conservative views and actions.

How can it be Billy Long is a pro-life champion when he attacks pro-life politicians? I mean we are talking about Claire McCaskill here, a Senator who often stands hand in hand with Barack Obama, looking like a love-sick puppy dog, who voted for Obama's health care reform bill without questioning taxpayer funded abortions within the bill. The Republican party and pro-life supporters better figure out Billy Long wears a complicated mask before August 3.

Cutting Spending With Defense Cuts Response

Here is another anonymous comment I would like to address:

"Are you in favor of, let's say, China installing bases on our land? What about Germany erecting air bases in your state?
There are lots of places in and around the oil fields of the Gulf that could have enough space for Russian bases to protect their 'interests'
How many bases over seas have you been stationed at or visited? How many of the citizens of those countries look at our vases with joy???
We are subsidizing the protection of private corporations, at huge cost to the taxpayer.
Who in the world would attack us in a straight forward manner???
they use subversive methods.. let the corporations arm themselves and the resulting savings would go a long way for OUR citizens..
Answer please.."
_____________________________________________________________
There are a few points I would like to make in response to this comment. I am most definitley not in favor of China or Germany holding a base on U.S. soil. Without being stationed at or visiting any bases overseas (I am 17...), I can still assure you that our military is the best in the world and firmly believe our military must have a presence overseas in order to keep peace. We have bases established in these foreign countries to keep local Americans safe, as well as fortifying the protection of Americans at home. For instance, if we weren't in Afghanistan, it would be a safe haven for terrorists from which they would be able to conduct attacks against Americans.

Frankly, it doesn't matter how many citizens in other countries look at our bases with joy. We are certainly there for their good, as well as ours. Unfortunately, the media doesn't often report that locals are thankful to have us there. Hopefully, no one would attack us in a straightforward manner because I don't think we're ready for a head-on nuclear war with Iran, China, Russia, or any others. As Defense Secretary Robert Gates said last week, we aren't prepared for a nuclear Iran.

However, I do believe private corporations should be in charge of their own security in certain instances. For example, I think that airlines should provide their own security checks and so forth. Because the airlines would simply do a better job than the government knowing that if they didn't, no one would fly with them.

Biden's Use of Words 'Unfortunate'

Joe Biden visited an ice cream shop in Wisconsin while campaigning for Democrat Senator Russ Feingold. When the owner of Kopp's Frozen Custard joked that the ice cream was free if Biden would lower taxes, "Plugs" opened his mouth. "Why don't you say something nice instead of being a smarta** all the time?" he snapped.

Meanwhile, the Main Stream Media says the Vice President's choice of words was 'unfortunate.'

Wardell and Wisdom Endorse Goodman?

DefeatNodler.com reported yesterday morning that Michael Wardell and Jeff Wisdom are teaming together and endorsing Jack Goodman in Missouri's 7th Congressional District Republican primary.

The anonymous author writes, "A source close to the Wardell camp (which we can only identify as one of the his seven supporters that are registered to vote) told us that Wardell and Wisdom are preparing to endorse Jack Goodman some time this week. Lately the two have been doing a bit of campaigning together, seeking strength in numbers (the move brought their combined total number of supporters to approximately 11)."

Well, there seem to be quite a few problems with this DefeatNodler blog post. I have contacted people close to the Wardell and Wisdom campaigns and both deny the report. Neither campaign has said they plan on dropping out of the race and endorsing Goodman. The likely source of this story is from a recent debate held at the Springfield Library Center. One of the questions in the debate was: Which candidate would you support next to yourself? Each of the candidates failed to mention a name except Wardell and Wisdom, who answered the question honestly and both happened to say Goodman. But neither said anything about endorsing him.

Because there is so much that must be corrected, let's go down the lengthy article. "An individual who identified himself as Wardell’s Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, who took a course on international relations at the local community college and said he got a good grade, told us that things went bad when Wardell looked up Federal election law and realized that blog posts don’t count as votes," the article states.

Mr. Wardell's Senior Foreign Policy Advisor didn't attend a local community college. In fact, he has a doctorate from Harvard. There is one thing true in this entire article though: "blog posts don't count as votes." It's true, they don't. But blog posts do help generate voters. Compare that to Billy Long's strange TV commercial that has since been removed.

Now skipping down through a few paragraphs of the DefeatNodler report, we find the next statement that deserves a response.

"Somewhat reliable sources told us that Jack Goodman will be uncomfortable with the prospect of their endorsements – seeing no possible upside – and that he won’t even want to issue a press release acknowledging them. Less reliable sources told us that he would rather have his campaign office infested with a plague of locusts than deal with Wardell and Wisdom. We sympathize."

The reason Jack Goodman won't issue a press release isn't because he's "uncomfortable," it's because the endorsement hasn't really happened! Goodman has been in contact with Wardell and Wisdom since and knows that this article doesn't reflect their statements.

It's interesting to me that the DefeatNodler site, which is run anonymously, would choose to unite Wardell and Wisdom. Although my sources tell me there is no such alliance, the DefeatNodler claim could actually reflect a positive. That is the fact that Wardell and Wisdom have been working together to come up with some clever out-of-the-box solutions to today's issues.

It seems to me DefeatNodler tends to be inaccurate in a number of areas. Their reporting of the Wisdom/Wardell/Goodman alliance is similar to how they reported that Gary Nodler and Missouri Republicans grew the budget each year. The facts just don't seem to support either claim.

Conservatives Still Outnumber Liberals

A recent Gallup poll shows conservatives still outnumber liberals and moderates. 42% of Americans describe themselves as conservative compared to the 20% that identify themselves as liberal. That 42% is up since last year, when 40% believed themselves to be conservative.

Towards the end of the article, Gallup says, "The ideological orientation of Americans seen thus far in 2010 would represent a record-high level of conservatism if it is maintained by the full year... The 2010 results are based on eight Gallup and USA Today/Gallup surveys conducted from January through June, encompassing interviews with more than 8,000 U.S. adults. The 42% identifying as conservative represents a continuation of the slight but statistically significant edge conservatives achieved over moderates in 2009. Should that figure hold for all of 2010, it would represent the highest annual percentage identifying as conservative in Gallup's history of measuring ideology with this wording, dating to 1992.

The recent rise in conservatism's fortunes follows a decline seen after 2003; liberalism has experienced the opposite pattern. From 1993 to 2002, the ideological trend had been fairly stable, with roughly 40% identifying as moderate, 38% as conservative, and 19% as liberal. Before that, the presidential bid of independent candidate Ross Perot may have contributed to a heightened proportion of Americans (43%) calling themselves moderate in 1992."

Billy Long Admits Weakness on Foreign Policy Plugging Jeff Wisdom and Michael Wardell

The gutless anonymous author who writes Defeat Nodler threw out fabricated insults yesterday directed at republicans Jeff Wisdom and Michael Wardell. They claim a Michael Wardell campaign staffer leaked that both Wardell and Wisdom will announce their endorsement of Jack Goodman later this week. I wonder how Wardell is paying for these staff members the gutless anonymous author of Defeat Nodler claims he spoke to since Wardell still has yet to cross the $5,000 threshold for campaign donations, and we know these staffers are expensive based on Billy Long's payments to the career politician producing machine he pays for poor guidance--which coincidentally is about to blow up in Billy's face in these final weeks of the campaign guaranteeing to lead to embarrassment and law suits against the Long campaign.

The gutless anonymous author writes:

An individual who identified himself as Wardell’s Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, who took a course on international relations at the local community college and said he got a good grade, told us that things went bad when Wardell looked up Federal election law and realized that blog posts don’t count as votes. A similarly depressing revelation shook the Wisdom camp recently at a campaign meeting at Bob Evan’s, when their Deputy Press Secretary (the next door neighbor’s kid) told the campaign’s staff he had run out of puns about Jeff’s last name “Wisdom” more than a month in advance of the primary.

While we haven't been able to prove it, the Defeat Nodler site once again comes across as a tool for the Billy Long campaign, possibly written by a big eater, bottom-feeding Republican from the Kansas City area looking to gain power in Missouri's Seventh District from Mavis Busiek or possibly written by another fiction writer working in the Long campaign who drives a burgundy Pontiac with New York plates, willing to purger himself to silence political free speech in hopes people don't find out the truth about Billy Long.

Whoever is the author of the Defeat Nodler site is, they obviously missed the exchange in Saturday's debate between Jeff Wisdom and Billy Long. Since they are going as far as insulting Wardell on foreign policy, then we should look at the question Wisdom posed to Long during the debate showing once again Billy Long isn't ready to be your congressman.

Wisdom asked Long to assume he is on a congressional delegation for a peace mission. What skills do you bring to the table to assist in the peace process?

Since it's very likely the Long campaign may be behind the Defeat Nodler site, since they have attacked Gary Nodler, Goodman, Wisdom, Wardell, and yours truly (they have yet to attack Long, Mike Moon, Darell Moore, and Steve Hunter), we should look at the answer Billy gave to Wisdom's question--especially since Defeat Nodler insults Wardell on foreign policy.

Long said he would call his friends Wardell and Wisdom up, who are well-versed in foreign policy thank to their military experience, to consult with them what needs to be done. So if Wardell's senior foreign policy advisor, who we find no record of exists in any of Wardell's campaign records, took a class on international relations at the local community college, can we assume Billy Long is still in the preschool stages of understanding the important issues that will face the next congressman from Southwest Missouri? How could you think otherwise!

Twenty States Considering AZ Law

More than twenty states are considering immigration laws similar to Arizona's recently passed bill. The law, which hasn't even taken effect yet, does the job of the federal government. Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Minnesota, South Carolina, and Michigan have come as far as introducing the bill on the floor of the capitol. These states realize the federal government is inefficient and has placed immigration on the back burner. "If the feds won't do it, we're going to have to do it," said Idaho Senator Monty Pearce.

State lawmakers from sea to sea are also worried that illegals are costing the taxpayer. This comes after a report that showed taxpayers funded medical services for an illegal in Idaho. The tab left behind? $100,000. At a time where states are reaching record unemployment and national underemployment is hovering around 19%, Americans don't like to hear that they are paying for illegal immigrants.

Not only are the taxpayers paying for medical services, we must include school and prison fees. The bottom line is Americans are tired of paying for illegals and support Arizona-like laws. With more than 20 states considering similar bills, it seems the federal government isn't satisfying most Americans.

Missouri Right to Life Officially Gambles on Billy Long with Pro-Life Endorsement

In a few minutes, the Missouri Right to Life PAC will begin the parade across Southwest Missouri with Billy Long on one arm. They will officially announce at a press conference in Joplin Billy Long is their candidate to represent pro-life values.

With no voting record and nothing but a radio program and a few sound bites, MRL will gamble on Billy Long to make the right choices to protect life in the nation's Capital. One has to wonder if they will gamble with Billy downstream as well, a familiar stop on Long's Joplin campaign trips.

With no real clue how the MRL drew the conclusion that Billy is a pro-life champion, other than Billy's money, which Dave Plemmon's points out in a comment on Long Is Wrong, many of us are left scratching our heads--especially after my conversation with Democrat Tim Davis last night.

While Billy Long is great at making a sound bite--including many in the pro-life arena--there are few actions. On the other hand, Democrat Tim Davis shared with me how he addressed a Joplin Women's Democrat group couragously calling for the repeal of Roe V. Wade. I ask you what is greater courage--Billy Long on a commercial claiming to be pro-life, or Tim Davis going against one of the Democrat's party platforms of choice in front of a group of women calling for the repeal of Roe V. Wade while Scott Eckersley throws thousands of his own money into his campaign in hopes of beating Davis.

Between Long and Davis, it appears to me it's clear who the pro-life champion is out of these two. It's clearly the Democrat in this case.

G20 Summit: Deficit Reduction a Reality?

Over the weekend, leaders from across the globe met at the annual G20 Summit in Toronto, Canada. Some news organizations are reporting nothing was accomplished from the meeting. Some are highlighting the agreement that many of the richest countries will cut their deficits in half by 2013. And still more news organizations are outlining the security issues of the event.

The world leaders agreed that the deficits must be cut and President Obama says he is serious about reducing the nationl deficit. He said, "I'm serious about it. We've got to look at a tax system that is messy and unfair in a whole range of ways."

I still say that Obama will try to raise taxes in an effort to bring the deficit down. It seems unlikely that he will accomplish it before the midterm elections though. It worries me to think that Republicans will be faced with a choice: (1) Join Obama in raising taxes or (2) Reject reducing the deficit until they have a majority.

Despite promising to cut spending, $900 million was spent on security in Toronto and over 900 arrests were made.

Robert Byrd Dies at 92

The longest-serving senator in American history died early this morning a family spokesman said. At age 92, Robert Byrd from West Virginia served in the U.S. Senate since 1959. West Virginia's governor Joe Manchin will appoint a replacement that will serve until 2012.

I would have loved to have a conversation with this man. Even though he is a Democrat, he served since 1959! Think of all the things that have happened since that time. America has changed so very much.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Byrd's family and friends.

Kagan Confirmation Hearings Start Today

Elena Kagan's Supreme Court confirmation hearings start in the Senate today. Republicans say a filibuster is possible while Democrats say the opposition is having trouble coming up with an argument. Republicans have said they plan on focusing on her "liberal" activism.

Well I have a better argument against Ms. Kagan. Despite shady views of the military, Kagan has very little experience in court. I'm not a lawyer or judge, and I'm not claiming to be one. But, it's pretty obvious to me that when we nominate a judge for the highest court in the land, we need to pick someone that is experienced.

We also need to choose someone that has a history of constitutional knowledge and patriotism. When Elena Kagan speaks this evening after the first day of the hearing, it will be the first time she has spoken publicly since the May 10 announcement. We know very little about her past, except for one college thesis written. In that thesis, Kagan writes, "The story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialism's decline, still wish to change America. Yet if 'the history of Local New York shows anything, it is·that American radicals cannot afford to become their own worst enemies. In unity lies their only hope."

So despite realizing socialism has failed, she still believes in a socialist government?

Emanuel Leaving White House: Is There a Deeper Reason?

With Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel leaving the White House after the midterm elections, I can't help but wonder if there is a deeper reason than the media has reported. As previously discussed, I think that Emanuel wants to be Chicago's next mayor. In addition, I think that more Americans are realizing that he is the far-left, creepy ballerina that we have said he is.

But another possibility came to my mind when I saw a Huffington Post headline that read "Blagojevich Trial A Distant, Unwanted Headache for Obama." If there is one thing I have learned about the Main Stream Media, it's that they usually report news backwards. In this case, the headline should've read "Blagojevich Trial A Close, Unwanted Headache For Obama."
Then I began to wonder how Emanuel might fit into this. After some quick research, I find out that Mr. Emanuel worked for the Bill Clinton administration. After that, he moved back to Chicago where he became a multi-millionaire in just two short years. He then ran and won a congressional race.

Emanuel and Valeri Jarrett were subpoenaed to appear in court with Blago. Now I'm not saying Emanuel was working with Blago to sell Obama's Senate seat, but it's possible. That's the kind of slimy Chicago politics running the country right now: bribes in exchanges for votes, closed-door meetings, and just plain bullying.

YouCut Program Week Five

I have enjoyed this program so much. Eric Cantor has been doing very well in reconnecting with the American taxpayer. Last week, participants voted to propose prohibiting hiring new IRS agents to enforce the health care law, that would've resulted in $15 billion in savings, had the Democrats not voted it down.

Here is the follow-up email:

"You have all made the YouCut project a success, and it has captured the attention of national media, the House, and has even reached across the globe.

1,000,000 votes is an amazing milestone, and a testament to the fact that the American people are not going to tolerate runaway spending in Washington any longer. Every time we bring a YouCut item to the House floor, it is now backed by one million votes cast for Washington to change.

But we can't stop now. We need to raise our voices even louder, and I need your input to do that. If you are tired of spending, keep voting. Make your voice heard.

We've also heard from hundreds of Americans asking that some of the spending cuts from previous weeks get a second chance. I'm game, and after talking to a few of my colleagues here in the House, they are too.

So this week, the Economic Recovery Working Group are going to have the "best of the seconds" – all of the previous second place finishers are once again up for a vote.

Don't let anyone tell you that your voice isn't heard – it is. Together, we will cut spending. Click here to cast your vote on which of the five items we should bring to the House floor next week."

Gen. McChrystal Replaced by Gen. Petraeus

Most of you have probably heard about this situation, and I'm sorry I couldn't report on it earlier. Most good points have been already been discussed by other conservatives, but I think I have a different perspective. Others have pointed out that Obama called Petraeus an utter failure and opposed his each and every move in Iraq, he now turns to him to lead the charge in Afghanistan.

But even more importantly than that, President Obama put politics and protecting his own backside before protecting your life! Instead of facing a little criticism, he fires a top general! I consider myself fairly patient when it comes to reporting liberal accomplishments. But I'll admit when it comes to protecting Americans, I've had it! When are Americans going to realize protecting you is on the bottom of his agenda?

Meanwhile, it hasn't even been proven that McChrystal said any of this. In the "Rolling Stone" article, his aides and advisers were quoted a lot more than McChrystal himself.

In addition, this is the worst possible time to change leadership in Afghanistan. President Obama already put a time table before we're pulling out of there and now Petraeus only has until July 2011, when we are scheduled to retreat and admit defeat to terrorists. This also comes at a time when Iran announces it has enriched more uranium that defies U.N. sanctions.

Jeff Wisdom and Michael Wardell Host Nixa Congressional Town Hall Meeting June 30 at 7:30

Jun 27, 2010 – On Wednesday 30 June at 7:30 pm there will be a town hall meeting in the Nixa, Mo. Community Center. Jeff Wisdom will also be joining Michael.

All Citizens are invited to this open forum to ask question of two of the candidates for the 7th Congressional Seat that is being vacated by Roy Blunt.

All topics are open to discussion and are encouraged.

Wardell and Wisdom want people to feel free to discuss any topic the citizens of the 7th District deem important. We only ask that there be no personal attacks, diatribes or rude remarks or behavior. This Town Hall should last approx. 60-90 minutes.

Rory Reid Avoids Use of Father's Name

Harry Reid is continuing his harsh attack ads against Tea Party-backed GOP opponent Sharron Angle. In a new TV commercial, Reid calls Angle's position on Social Security "crazy." Harry Reid has no chance of winning this race if he runs on his own voting record. He has no defense of his left-wing agenda, not to mention his plain stupidity. Therefore, he stoops to insulting his opponent such as displayed in this commercial.

The people of Nevada aren't content with Mr. Reid. In an effort to distance himself from his father, Rory Reid, who is running for governor of Nevada, has stopped using his last name in advertising. Signs that read "Rory Reid 2010" now say "Rory 2010." Labels that said "Paid for by Rory Reid" now claim "Paid for by Rory." Even yard signs and bumper stickers proclaim Rory, but not Reid. In addition, the biography on his website doesn't even mention his own father - Harry Reid.

According to Rasmussen, Reid currently trails Angle 48% to 44%. This is an important election I will be keeping a close eye on throughout the race.

Pro-Life Democrat Tim Davis Calls for Repeal of Roe V. Wade in Front of Joplin Women Democrats

While Billy Long is receiving meaningless accolades from the Missouri Right to Life PAC in the form of an endorsement that overlooks true achievements in the right to life debate, another candidate was clearly overlooked by the Missouri Right to Life. Democrat Tim Davis stood in the lions den and spoke loudly.

At the Joplin Women's Democrats meeting, Davis didn't hide his strong pro-life stance. He courageously called for the repeal of Roe V. Wade. In what could be rough waters in many parts of the country where the pro-choice argument is defended with militant passion, Davis presented his argument to repeal the controversial Supreme Court decision and was warmly  received. Davis says says about half the women there were pro-life and the other half were pro-choice. He said they warmly engaged with him in the conversation.

While Billy Long panders for votes, we have another candidate running for Congress who stands up for what they believe without backing down. Obviously, Missouri Right to Life doesn't recognize such courage with their weak endorsement of Billy Long.

Is Billy Long's "Fed Up" Ad Astroturf?: The Fuse Joplin Examines the Possibility Long Paid Actors to Promote Congressional Campaign

Eli Yokley, who writes for The Fuse Joplin, says the blogophere is fed up over Billy Long's 'Fed Up' ad. Yokley suggests the 'Fed Up' ad uses actors from outside of Missouri's Seventh Congressional District and not actual voters. I can't say that I am surprised despite Long's promise of a grass roots campaign last year.

When the ad was filmed, witnesses saw a lonely Billy Long shaking his arms back and forth claiming to be fed up, notes Yokley. The Long campaign, whose history of truthfulness has been put in doubt with campaign finance and World Poker Tour gambling issues, says the people in the video are volunteers, even though a witness of the filming claims they weren't at the video shoot with Billy.

"I can assure you those were volunteers," says Royce Reding. "They're people from the community. They were not paid."

One GOP official says they have never seen any of these people at any of the campaign events.

OK, Mr. Long you obviously have been challenged. If these are volunteers then why not produce a list of who volunteered and their contact information so the local media and bloggers can interview these people of the community to find out more of the reasons they are supporting Billy Long. It's time to put your money down or fold on this one Billy. Either you have a royal flush or you don't. I am not buying your bluff.

You see, I know people have tried to get the names of the people in the commercial, and the Long campaign has made excuses. One of the excuses I have heard they used were the people are shy? Shy? All of them? They didn't seem to shy in front of the camera.

Are these paid actors?

Adios Amigos

Once again I will be gone this weekend for a baseball tournament. This time it's off to Omaha, Nebraska to play against teams from across the fruited plains. It sounds like my schedule won't leave much time for blogging, but I will update you when I return from the Cornhusker state.

Keep your eyes and ears open for Obama to try and slip something by while I'm gone. When he hears he has the rest of the week until I am able to continue my close observation of him, he might make a move.

Breaking News: Judge Rules Against Obama's Moratorium

A federal judge in New Orleans ruled against President Obama's 6 month moratorium on new deep water drilling projects. More details on this story are expected to be released soon.

Currently, BP is drilling a second well to connect the two, but still has thousands of feet to go. After the connection is made, BP will then pump hundreds of pounds of mud and concrete into the leaking well. But experts say the spill will be stopped at the earliest on August 1.

Missouri Right to Life Loses Credibility With Billy Long Endorsement

I want the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee to name what Billy Long has done in the last ten years to protect the life of the unborn other they claim he is pro life. In their decision to endorse Republican Billy Long, who has spent more time in casinos over the last ten years over that of fighting for pro life causes, the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee has lost any credibility with me. In fact, I bet if you put Billy Long's pro life record up against Democrat Tim Davis' pro life record, Davis would once again embarrass Billy Long. In fact, I would put most of the candidate's record against Billy Long and it would either equal or excel Billy Long's pro-life record.

The Missouri Right to Life PAC blog reads, "MRL PAC does careful analysis of each candidate and the dynamics of each race. We take seriously our responsibility to ensure that pro-life candidates are elected to protect innocent human lives. Endorsements for the primary in all other races will be announced later this week."

Unfortunately, they don't describe in their blog how they came to the conclusion that Billy Long is the pro-life champion of the field. I am laughing, especially when you consider Billy Long's shining endorsement of Claire McCaskill on KWTO when she ran against Matt Blunt for governor. We all know Claire McCaskill's record, especially after the health care legislation, which abortion language didn't stop McCaskill from moving forward in support of Barack Obama. Oh yes Mr. Long, you know exactly what I am talking about.

Why not Jack Goodman? Goodman has been a strong family advocate and a champion of life in the Missouri state senate. Could it be the Missouri Right to Life bought into the half truths the Long campaign delivers about Goodman, just like the gambling money Billy Long's campaign lied about that Goodman returned. Goodman never took cloning money, but word has it Long is preparing to attack Goodman with that exact claim.

In time, the Missouri Right to Life will be embarrassed as we go into the final days of this campaign in the next few weeks for not doing their homework. They gambled with World Poker Tour Professional Billy Long, and they need to know when your life focuses on the big money at the Downstream, you are wasting valuable time that you could be promoting pro-life causes. I guess you could say it won't be too long before Missouri Right to Life is 'Fed Up' with Billy Long.

Obama's Day Ahead

On this day in 1870, Congress created the Department of Justice which was to be led by the Attorney General. Well today in 2010, President Obama has a little different to do list.

This morning, Obama is delivering a speech still trying to sell his health care takeover to the American people. He will meet with insurance providers, and then provide information on how the laws will be enforced. As Nancy Pelosi said, we'll find out what's in it after we pass it, we are finding out and I don't like it.

This afternoon Obama is expected to meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates, apparently regarding top U.S. General in Afghanistan Stanley McChrystal's negative remarks. In an edition of "Rolling Stone," to be released next week, McChrystal is quoted as saying he was "disappointed" in his first meeting with an unprepared Obama. McChrystal is expected to meet with Obama in D.C. sometime soon to explain the matter.

And this evening President Obama will make a speech at the LGBT Pride Month event at the White House. It is a handy time for the President, seeing as how he is renewing his push for gay rights.

Oh yeah, there is also a massive oil spill spewing in the Gulf. But quit your criticism! Everyone needs some time off! He has more important things to do!

Budget Director Announces Resignation

A White House official released a statement yesterday announcing Peter Orszag plans on resigning form the position of White House Budget Director. As a Cabinet-level ranking official, Orszag oversees all spending and budget creation. A spokesman for Orszag, "Peter's focus is on his work, not on Washington speculation."

I am not surprised one bit that Mr. Orszag intends on resigning. If this administration is going to spend your money twice as fast as any other, it makes sense that they will go through Budget Directors twice as fast. Although the Main Stream Media describes him as "a camera friendly face of Obama's government," I can't imagine him not taking any heat. He had the opportunity to keep a tight overwatch of government spending, but instead he allowed unneeded government programs and a $13 trillion deficit.

Many options have been speculated by "experts" for his replacement. "Among the potential replacements under consideration are Laura Tyson, a former director of the National Economic Council under President Bill Clinton, and Rob Nabors, who served as OMB deputy director under Orszag before moving to the White House to work under Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, said one of the officials," reports Hans Nichols from Bloomberg.com. President Obama seems to be leading a trend though: nominate a far-left radical for every position possible.

Emanuel Leaving White House

The London Telegraph reports that President Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will be leaving the White House after the midterm elections. The article quotes many sources including "Washington insiders, Friends, A leading Democratic consultant in Washington, and two officials from the Bill Clinton era."

Want me to make some sort of prediction? Well here goes a long shot:

Rahm "Dead Fish" Emanuel has proven he is a far left radical. With the upcoming elections, Democrats (including Obama) want to appear more towards the center and closer to American's views. Because right now, 49% say that the Democrat Party is too liberal and they trail Republicans 36% to 44%.

"You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before," he is infamously quoted as saying. That is the basis of the platform of the majority in power today. But they will never get reelected proclaiming they want to control your life.

And how can we forget the Eric Massa situation?

Remember this is coming from a fellow Democrat!

Mr. Dead Fish has already expressed interest in Chicago's mayoral race. I believe Obama is kicking him out to appear towards the center and the power hungry Emanuel will seek office in Chicago.

More Information on the NJ Naval Base Lockdown

Before reading this story, you will want to check out the article entitled "Lockdown at NJ Navy Base."

I have been able to gather a little more information on the New Jersey Naval Base situation. There were two incidents this morning which caused the lockdown. #1 - Reports of gun shots that were later proven false. #2 - A truck driver was stopped at a gate and was given a citation for carrying a handgun.

We have also learned a little more about the "Bush loving, tea party attending, racist, regular white man" that caused the scare. Not only is he a man, but he was a FedEx truck driver. Not only is FedEx a competitor of the government-run postal service, but think of the carbon footprint all of those gas guzzlers have left behind! In addition to that, he was carrying a handgun, which should have already been taken away by the government.

This is another crisis that shouldn't be left without grabbing some power. It't too bad that the President is hosting a barbecue instead of using this situation to take over FedEx, tighten carbon restrictions, and establish more gun control!

Trimming the Budget with Defense Cuts

Lawmakers in Washington D.C. sent a letter to the Fiscal Responsibility Commission urging major defense spending cuts. In the letter, they stressed the urgent need to stop adding to the worst deficit in history. "The four of us strongly believe that unless there is a substantial reduction in American military spending over a 10-year period -- close to slightly over a trillion dollars -- you simply cannot deal with deficit reduction in a way that is economically and socially responsible," Barney Frank said.

Here is the list of proposed cuts:

Reducing the nuclear arsenal to 1,000 warheads deployed on 160 Minuteman missiles and seven nuclear submarines.

Cutting 200,000 troops, resulting in a peacetime active-duty force of 1.3 million.

Capping the peacetime military presence in Europe at 35,000 and in Asia at 65,000.

Reducing the size of the Navy fleet from 287 battle-force ships to 230 and naval air wings from 10 to eight.

Cutting the number of active-duty Army brigade combat teams from 45 to between 39 and 41.
Retiring four of the 27 Marine Corps infantry battalions.

Retiring four Air Force tactical fighter wings.

Halting or delaying major weapons programs -- including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, MV-22 Osprey, KC-X Aerial Refueling Tanker and Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle -- and fielding less-expensive alternatives.

Changing how military compensation is calculated.

Reforming the military's health care system.

I must ask, will cutting any of this protect U.S. citizens? This administration and the Democrat Party fails miserably when it comes to making you and me safer. Because it isn't a priority like golfing, basketball, bowling, or most recently, hosting barbecues.

If Barney Frank cared one bit about cutting spending and lowering the deficit, he would admit his own mistakes with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I'm not sure he has ever supported a serious spending cut.

Lockdown at NJ Navy Base

FoxNews.com reports:

"LAKEHURST, N.J. (AP) —

Officials have lifted a lockdown at a Navy base in Lakehurst, N.J.

The base says the 87th Security Forces Squadron responded to "simultaneous incidents" around 9:30 a.m. Monday. In a statement, the base says no personnel were in danger. The statement does not say what the incidents were.

The lockdown lasted an hour and kept traffic from getting into or out of the base.

The base is perhaps best known as the spot where the airship Hindenberg exploded in 1937. Now known as the Naval Air Engineering Center, one of its main missions relates to the equipment used to launch aircraft from carriers at sea.

Lakehurst merged with the Army's Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base last year as part of a joint base initiative to make the military's first three-branch base."

I can explain what happened here. A Bush loving, tea party attending, racist, regular white man caused the scare. Just wait, the Main Stream Media will report something similar soon.

America Speaking Out

Republicans in Congress have launched yet another program (that you aren't paying for) to help reconnect with the American people. This one is lead by House Minority Leader John Boehner and can be found at America Speaking Out.

Interestingly enough, I stumbled across this site while reading a Huffington Post article with the headline: "New Republican Agenda, Or Lack Of One, Divides Party." The article lashes out against Republicans saying, "Republicans don't even agree on whether they need a new agenda." It goes on to describe how liberal readers flooded the website with far left suggestions and solutions.

The Huffington Post's entire goal in writing this story was making it seem as if the Republicans are unorganized and the Democrats really aren't in trouble in November. Well, I've got news for you people at the Huffington Post: There is a massive movement in America today that will throw plenty of Democrats out of office in November. It isn't really going to make much of a difference whether the Republicans establish a new website or not. The American people are fed up with Hope and Change and just like in last election season, they will vote for more change.

In reality, the Democrat Party is the one unorganized. They had super majorities and couldn't get anything done. They have faced bipartisan opposition to every agenda item and Democrats and Independents are slowly removing themselves away from the Democrat Party of today.

State Office of the Repealer

There was an interesting article in the New York Times a week ago that explained a new idea. A seemingly ordinary Republican Senator Sam Brownback from Kansas has his eye on the Governor's seat, but he has an out of the ordinary platform.

Along with conservative solutions to today's problems, Brownback does want to add one government position. The State Office of the Repealer's job would be to dispose of the unnecessary government regulations and laws. Brownback said, "People just love this idea. They feel like they're getting their brains regulated out of them."

The article dated June 12 goes on talking about other instances in which lawmakers across the country are cutting the size of government. It describes Michigan lawmakers that repealed statutes that had designated as crimes prizefighting and dueling, along with here in Missouri where lawmakers eliminated more than 200 sections of statutes.

I love it when candidates think out of the box and come up with new solutions. This is an excellent proposition that every state should adopt.

New Aid to Palestine

Last week President Obama met with Palistinian Presidnet Mahmoud Abbas at the White House. After urging Israel to loosen its blockade of the Hamas-controlled Gaza strip, Obama also promised a massive amount of aid for the West Bank and Gaza. A whopping $400 million is said to be distributed.

In case you haven't heard, the Gaza strip is dominated by the terrorist group Hamas. Israel receives missile attacks from the area often and has established a tight blockade to protect itself.
But President Obama thinks differently. He said last week, "We, and I think President Abbas agrees with this, recognize that Israel should not have missiles flying out of Gaza into its territories. And so there should be means by which we are able to stop the flow of arms that could endanger Israel's security."

Mr. President, Israel IS doing all it can to stop the flow of arms that could endanger its security. Israel and Arizona are stepping up and protecting themselves from your incompetent mistakes. If you would protect our own citizens and allies, this wouldn't be happening.

Oil Spill Czar

President Obama has now openly admitted he has no idea what he is doing when it comes to fixing the oil spill. During his address from the Oval Office, Obama announced that he is planning on creating an oil spill czar. This czar will oversee the cleanup and recovery of the catastrophe. Michael Bromwich is the newest addition to the most athletic administration in history. He is an attorney who graduated from Harvard. This just continues the President's efforts to make it seem as if he is doing all he can, when in reality, he is not.

Adding Mr. Bromwich to the long list of czars, we come to a total of 33 unelected and unconstitutional czars:

1. Afghanistan Czar - Richard Holbrooke

2. AIDS Czar - Jeffrey Crowley

3. Auto Recovery Czar - Ed Montgomery

4. Border Czar - Alan Bersin

5. California Water Czar - David J. Hayes

6. Car Czar - Ron Bloom

7. Central Region Czar - Dennis Ross

8. Climate Czar - Todd Stern

9. Domestic Violence Czar - Lynn Rosenthal

10. Drug Czar - Gil Kerlikowske

11. Economic Czar - Paul Volcker

12. Energy and Environment Czar - Carol Browner

13. Faith-Based Czar - Joshua DuBois

14. Government Performance Czar - Jeffrey Zients

15. Great Lakes Czar - Cameron Davis

16. Green Jobs Czar - Van Jones

17. Guantanamo Closure Czar - Daniel Fried

18. Health Czar - Nancy-Ann DeParle

19. Information Czar - Vivek Kundra

20. Intelligence Czar - Dennis Blair

21. Mideast Peace Czar - George Mitchell

22. Pay Czar - Kenneth R. Feinberg

23. Regulatory Czar - Cass R. Sunstein

24. Science Czar - John Holdren

25. Stimulus Accountability Czar - Earl Devaney

26. Sudan Czar - J. Scott Gration

27. TARP Czar - Herb Allison

28. Technology Czar - Aneesh Chopra

29. Terrorism Czar - John Brennan

30. Urban Affairs Czar - Adolfo Carrion Jr.

31. Weapons Czar - Ashton Carter

32. WMD Policy Czar - Gary Samore

33. Oil Spill Czar - Michael Bromwich

You Cut Program Week 4

Once again Eric Cantor has brought an up or down vote to the House floor in the name of you the people. Each week Republicans have proposed a spending cut that you have selected. Here is the email with the results from last week's proposal:

"You are making history.

Since we started the YouCut project, House Republicans have taken the policies that you have selected and offered over $100 billion in spending cuts on the House floor for up-or-down votes by your Representatives.

Just yesterday (June 17), we voted on the proposal championed by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) to sell excess federal government property, which would generate over $15 billion in savings. Click here to see where your Representative stood on this important vote.

With every YouCut vote you cast, you are helping to challenge Washington's culture of spending. Together, we are changing the debate from ways the government can spend more of your money into a debate over different ways to reduce spending. Let me share with you two examples of how you are changing Washington.

After this week's YouCut proposal was unveiled to save $15 billion by selling excess federal property, President Obama announced his own version that would save $3 billion. (It isn't $15 billion, but at least it is a step in the right direction!)

The Majority recently called all of their committee chairmen together and told them they had to start finding ways to save money. A Capitol Hill newspaper cited YouCut as prompting the request!

This is only the beginning. There is much more to do. America must reject the road of unsustainable debt; the stakes have never been higher.

Click here to cast your vote on which item should be brought up for a vote next week."

Cape Girardeau Here I Come

I will be leaving early tomorrow morning for Cape Girardeau, Missouri for the weekend to play in a baseball tournament. As I prepare to travel to the birthplace of The Most Dangerous Man in America, it doesn't sound like I will have much time to blog.

Icet Endorsed by Right to Life

The press release announcing the endorsement reads as follows:

"I would like to announce that Missouri Right to Life has endorsed my campaign for Missouri State Auditor.

Organized in 1974, Missouri Right to Life is Missouri's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization.

Missouri Right to Life knows that my record stands for conservative values and the protection of the unborn. I have worked diligently toprotect taxpayers' from funding abortions in the State of Missouri.

Missouri Right to Life recognizes that I will continue to have a pro-life record and be a watchdog for the taxpayers, ensuring that their money is not being wasted on programs that violate the beliefs and values of Missourians."

Despite an ethics complaint and a tough attack strategy by the Tom Schweich campagin, Allen Icet is continuing to work towards the primary.

Billy Long? A Good Ol' Boy Like the Rest of Us?

I couldn't help but read Warren Findley's letter about Billy Long in the News Leader. It sounds like to me someone has mistaken Billy Long for a hillbilly--just one of us.

In the Monday letters to the editor, the letter regarding Billy Long (candidate for 7th District U.S. Congressman), I wondered, "what is wrong with being a 'good old boy'... or a hillbilly or Ozarker?" That proudly describes the majority of us living here in the hills where we are happy with our lives!

Does the fact that "good old boy" Billy talks a bit faster than the rest of us, because of his professional training as an auctioneer, disqualify him from running or being elected to Congress? Does the reference that Mr. Moore and Mr. Goodman "have the experience and wisdom" mean that the rest of [us] do not have wisdom and experience? Surely not!

While it may be "very difficult" for the writer to choose between Mr. Moore and Mr. Goodman, the rest of us will hopefully choose a citizen politician in the August primary and again in November.

Go Billy!

Um, Mr. Findley, just so you know, all the politicians in this race are citizens. Since you think Billy Long is just one of us, I must ask, do you live in a Highland Springs like gated community shut out from the rest of the hillbilly's you try to include Long with. Oh, yeah, Billy Long is a good ol' boy alright. He lives in that beautiful Highland Springs mansion. He pays up to $15,000 to play in the World Poker Tour. He has houses in places like Hawaii. Yup, Mr. Long is just one of the average folks here in Southwest Missouri, Mr. Findley.

Since you are obviously a Billy cheerleader. I am just curious Mr. Findley, have you heard Billy Long provide any real and original solutions in this race? Have you ever asked him a deep question that goes beyond his earmarks pledge. You see Mr. Findley, if you actually did any of the sort, you would quickly realize the lack of thinking power underneath that cowboy hat. At this time in our country's history, we just can't take that chance.

Objective: Defeat Democrat

As I sat at Cox Hospital last evening listening to each of the candidates for Missouri's 7th Congressional District Republican primary, It became obviously clear to me that the candidates were openly agreeing too much. I asked myself a question I'm sure you have asked yourself. It wasn't the first time I have asked myself this question and it definitley won't be the last. It is a question that each candidate in every race tries to answer for the voters.

This single question could change the entire race: "What makes you the best candidate for this specific position?"

I have the answer that any candidate can use in any race, anywhere, anytime. The answer is: We all have mostly the same views of the issues: lower taxes, strong military, less government, etc. But, I am the best candidate because I have the best chance to defeat the Democrat in the general election. Whether it be because this specific candidate has the experience in politics or because he or she is new to politics and can therefore not be blamed for previous Republican decisions.

Removing the liberal regime running the country right now is the most important objective. If one, just one, candidate would proclaim this simple slogan and clearly explain why, it would show that they are above the rest.

Unfortunately at the forum, none of the candidates mentioned this answer. This is an open letter to each of the candidates reccomending that you who has the best chance of defeating the Democrat in November, come forth! Comment and explain why you are the best candidate.

Special Session Possible

Governor Jay Nixon announced yesterday he may ask Missouri lawmakers back to Jefferson City for a special session to complete some unfinished business. A proposition that was rejected on the last day of session is up for discussion once again. This time lawmakers would meet beginning June 28.

Nixon wants the body to reconsider a tax break costing $100 million over 10 years to attract Ford Motors Inc. to continues its production near Kansas City. Talking to reporters in the Capital, Nixon stressed the importance of jobs and the $4 billion annual impact the auto industry has in the revenue of Missouri.

Forbes.com reports:

"Although targeted at Ford, the Missouri legislation could apply to any manufacturer. Companies could keep half the Missouri employee withholding taxes they normally would pay, if they invest at least $100,000 per full-time employee on factory improvements for a new product line.
No single manufacturer could receive more than $10 million annually for 10 years. The total program would be capped at $15 million annually. Suppliers to those manufacturers also could keep the employee withholding taxes if they expand their payrolls.
To highlight the "tentacles of Ford," Nixon traveled Tuesday to a Columbia plant that makes axles for Ford. He also was speaking at a regional chamber of commerce meeting in Kansas City, near the Ford assembly plant."

Afghanistan Sitting on Gold

Reports that Afghanistan has uncovered a wealth in resources are worrying many. Gold, iron, copper, lithium, and cobalt deposits of value up to $1 trillion could aid Afghanistan adequately. Some researchers say that the danger risk in mining the wealth could not be worth the overrall cash gains.

Oval Office Address: Was Anything Accomplished?

President Obama delivered his first speech to the nation last evening from the oval office. As with many speeches, Democrats said it was great, while Republicans were asking what got accomplished? A Fox Forum poll shows most are wondering that, too.

YOU DECIDE

Did Obama accomplish anything in the Oval Office speech?

7% -Yes, his point was necesary, now let's get this solved

89% - No. He doesn't have a solution and is just trying to spin the coverage.

Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt released a statement as a response to the address. Here it is:

“The president, as always, has a way with words. But Americans are ready for action on this crisis in the Gulf. Fifty-seven days after the explosion that is now causing up to 60,000 gallons of oil to spew into the waters of the Gulf every day, we finally hear the president speak directly about it. As jobs are lost and a way of life is threatened, all we’ve seen is finger-pointing and a job-killing moratorium on oil exploration.

“I was stunned to hear the president use this catastrophe as an opportunity to push for his job-killing national energy tax plan that would kill 32,000 Missouri jobs in its first year alone. Equally puzzling was the president’s claim that we are ‘running out’ of resources on land and in shallow waters when in fact it is the policies of a generation of Washington Democrats that have put those resources off-limits. Now is not the time for political gamesmanship; it’s a time for action.

“The disaster reminds us of the dependence the federal government has on oil companies like BP to prevent or respond to emergencies when problems like this arise. I was pleased to hear the president remind us of the importance of working with private industry to produce all kinds of American energy, but the government’s lack of contingency planning for this kind of catastrophe should be a wake up call that better preparations are needed.”

Breaking News: Oil Rig Struck by Lightning

BP temporarily had the spill under control. They activated a giant vaccuum like machine that was sucking up at least a fraction of the spewing oil. Well now that vaccuum has caught fire due to an apparent lightning strike.

President Obama made his fourth trip to the Gulf today ahead of a prime time address to the nation tonight. I thought he was going to go down there and fix everything, at least that's what I have been told to believe. Instead, the rig catches on fire and any oil that was being saved is now escaping into the ocean.

Alvin Greene: Interview with Mark Levin

This is one story swirling in the headlines I haven't covered. A candidate no one knows anything about won the Democrat primary in South Carolina. His name is Alvin Greene and everything we know about him can be counted on one hand.

For just a taste of the way Mr. Greene conducts interviews, watch this:

There are a few other interviews out there that are basically the same. How did he get elected? Despite currently being unemployed, supposedly, he campaigned door-to-door across South Carolina.

There is so much to say to this. But I remain speechless, almost as speechless as Mr. Greene himself.

Rand Paul a Certified Doctor?

Since winning the U.S. Senate election in Kentucky, Rand Paul has faced a little criticism to say the least. Now liberals are questioning his doctor title. Paul worked as an eye doctor in Kentucky before deciding to run for office (as most Pauls seem to like to do), but some say he lacks a specific certification.

I am not going to claim to know all about how to become a doctor. But what I do know is that liberals tell us who are good candidates. The conservatives they hate and lash out against most, are the best conservatives. And Rand Paul has faced plenty of it, as has Sarah Palin and more recently, Sharron Angle.

Notice this works backwards, too. Liberals were proclaiming that John McCain was a great candidate and he was the new, moderate candidate Republicans needed. Well obviously conservative voters completely and totally rejected the new moderate kind of Republican Party it has been recently.

So I can't defend Rand Paul's authorization as a doctor, but he makes a pretty darn good Senator.

Pelosi Moves into New Office

Nancy Pelosi moved in to a new office. The new space is just a tad more expensive than the old, which she occupied for 20 years. She is now forcing you, the American taxpayer, pay $18,736 every month for her office. Her excuse? The new office is more environmentally friendly, the new office fulfills her security needs better, and it is more centrally located so she can easily reach her constituents that come on public transportation.

I would like to say three things on this: #1 This is exactly the way "saving the environment" works. Everyone pays more and gets less, except the government, who gets more power. It is said for every one environmentally safe job created, two regular jobs are lost. The new carbon-reduction program President Obama is urging Congress to move quickly on, will be a huge problem.

#2 This proves Nancy Pelosi is intentionally ruining the United States economy. She can hear what her constituents are saying, she is just ignoring them. One of the reasons for moving in to the new office was "security." And as Speaker of the House of the worst Congress in history, you need to be protected.

#3 The last excuse was so more people that ride on public transportation can reach her easier. People that ride on public transportation tend to have less money. They are the people that rely on the government for their everyday needs. Those are the only kind of citizens she wants to stay in contact with.

Debate Tonight

Tonight, June 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Cox North Hospital in Springfield, Missouri there will be a debate featuring every candidate for Congress is Missouri's 7th District. If you haven't been able to attend a forum yet (like me!) then this will be a great event to go to and learn more about the candidates. If it rains as it is predicted, and my baseball double-header is rained out, I will be there.

9/11 Similar to the Oil Spill

President Obama made a head shaking statement on Sunday. "In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come," he said.

So let's compare the two: The attacks of 9/11 instantly killed 2,985 people. The oil spill killed 11 workers on the rig. President Bush took charge of the situation immediately displaying brilliant leadership and promising to hunt down the criminals. President Obama hasn't even met with the BP CEO. President Bush used 9/11 to make the world safer. President Obama is using the spill to pass a power grabbing carbon reduction bill. Do those two situations seem similar in any way at all?

Interestingly enough, the NY Daily News story also has a poll for its readers. Question: President Obama says the oil spill "echoes 9/11." Do you find that offensive?

Answer #1: Yes. President Obama is out of line for comparing the oil spill to 9/11.

Answer #2 No. The comparison seems valid.

The results: 86% say the comparisan is valid while 14% say it is out of line.

Democrat Party Viewed as too Liberal

A new Gallup poll shows that 46% of Americans now think the Democrat Party is too Liberal. It is the largest percentage since November of 1994.

I'm not sure that even liberals themselves can say being too liberal is good. If you are too liberal, you are a Socialist.

This is interesting because Harry Reid has already begun attack ads saying his Republican opponent Sharron Angle is "too conservative." How is being too conservative possible? Does this mean Ms. Angle believes in the Constitution and Founding Fathers too much? That isn't even possible.

Rush Back Tomorrow

To the other Dittoheads out there, Rush will be back behind the Golden EIB Microphone tomorrow after taking a couple weeks off. The guest hosts just can't compare to El Rushbo. I am looking forward to what he has to say about many news items, including his own headlines. So just a heads up that the most dangerous man in America, because he's right, will be back tomorrow.

Strong Recovery Under Way

St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard said today that a strong worldwide economic recovery is under way. Mr. Bullard went on to say that private sector job creation will start to pick up this summer.

Last time I checked, we were approaching 10% unemployment, the Euro had fallen to a 4 year low, and stocks had been spiraling downward. Is this the kind of recovery we want? I will not be satisfied until people are put back to work, in the private sector. Previous job creation reports have sounded positive because the 2010 census (and other government programs) temporarily employed thousands.

President Obama said just a few days ago that after the recovery takes full affect, then the deficit can be lowered. But, Mr. Bullard says the deficit must be lowered before the recovery can come back. So who's right? I'm going to have to side with James on this one. President Obama is using that as an excuse so he doesn't have to address the deficit by cutting spending.

Primaries in Perspective

I would like to post this comment:

(Anonymous) 10:10 am

"I respect Senator Purgason and Congressman Roy Blunt for many reasons and one of the reasons is the way they are conducting themselves in the GOP Primary race for U.S. Senator.

They are talking about solutions to issues, not attacking each other. They rightly point out the differences between their positions on issues if they differ and also compare their positions to the probable candidate's positions in November.

I believe the stronger Blunt campaign will prevail but also believe the people in Purgason's Senate district will show their recognition and support for his very good record of public service and representation of them with strong support in August.

Roy will be the first to congratulate Chuck for a quality campaign and Chuck will be the first to build support among his followers for a successful campaign in November.

The GOP Auditor's race is an ongoing, living example of just the opposite approach to campaigning. Both candidates are well qualified for the office but are acting like complete (idiots) in regard to their civil respectd for the other candidate."

I can't say it any better. The point that I have been making with the Auditor race is let's talk about solutions and not attack each other constantly. Of course, sometimes pointing a negative out in the other campaign is the right thing to do. The goal is defeat Democrats, not smear another conservative. The same point can be carried to every primary across the country, including our own MO7 Congressional race.

Pelosi on Blaming Bush

Here is Nancy Pelosi on MSNBC defending herself from blaming George W. Bush:

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=10,0,0,0"> name="movie" value="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32545640" />http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32545640" width="420" height="245" FlashVars="launch=37637236&width=420&height=245" allowscriptaccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" wmode="opaque" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash">

First of all, she hasn't heard that people don't like it when Democrats blame Bush? This amazingly shows how out of touch she is with her constituents. I believe she knows full well that she is going against the American people. Once again, she shows the plain stupidity of the Left.
She claims the blaming will stop when the problems are fixed. Only one problem with that, the problems aren't being fixed! They are getting worse! Unemployment is still rising and the deficit has risen massively compared to Bush's or any other president's first term.

Again, she says Republicans are haulting her agenda. Republicans don't have the votes to stop anything. She can't even organize her own party to get something done. There has been bi-partisan opposition to every issue.

I must point out they don't want to fix the problems. Since having a majority under Clinton, Democrats swore to themselves when they got the majority again, they wouldn't lose it. The way they keep the majority is make as many people as possible reliant on the government. When people become reliant on government, it is extremely hard to come away from it. Greece is a perfect example. The citizens are protesting tax increases AND spending cuts. They become "entitled" to the government-run sources.

Oh, by the way, experts say that if Greece privatized its government-run health care system, it would have a major positive impact on the economy.

More Emergency Aid

President Obama sent a letter to Congressional leaders requesting more emrgency aid. This time, he wants to spend $50 billion on state and local fire and police. Obama says the emergency aid is "urgent and unavoidable."

President Obama claims to be fiscally responsible and a believer in the free market, but his actions prove differently. Pay-Go, Obama's pledge to be fiscally responsible, only applies to non-emergency spending. Since then, every program seems to be an "emergency." The 'do as I say and not as I do' mentality continues in this incompetent administration.

I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of the same old cover ups and just plain stupidity. I'm looking forward to November, but 2012 sounds like along way off. According to Rasmussen, 47% still somewhat approve of President Obama, while 52% disapprove. So a minority approves, but I think its still too close. Rasmussen also says only 24% believe that increased government spending is good for the economy.

Billy Long for Congress Mouse Pads?

A Web site in the United Kingdom displays a strange mouse pad. A quick glance and one might mistake it for a Dukes of Hazzard Boss Hogg marketing campaign that quickly found its way into the clearance aisle at Walmart.

Upon closer look, it's World Poker Tour professional and congressional candidate with the lowest IQ, Billy Long. The image comes from the image of Billy, which is currently on the front page of his Web site. (You know, the image taken 15 years ago that passes him off as a young, stress free guy, who doesn't sweat profusely upon being asked a political question beyond the subject of earmarks or struggles to find a place to drop Mel Hancock's name in the answer.) There is a word bubble exclaiming, hey Missouri, this year career politicians get the pink slip (which doesn't really work since Long isn't running against an incumbent).

Once again I am amazed. How is it Billy Long can hire the career politician producing political machine of Jeff Roe and James Harris and then attack the establishment--even on a mouse pad? If you are really that fed up with career politicians, you don't hire the same advisors that created the current generation of career politicians in Missouri. Mouse pad or no mouse pad, Billy's promised grass roots campaign is Astroturf.

Now you can buy one of these Billy Long for Congress mouse pads for 11.45 pounds. That's not dollars for those of you living in Stone County. Which means you would need to do a little conversion to find out what a Billy Long mouse pad would actually cost you. I don't know if these are official campaign merchandise or not, but for crying out loud, you couldn't market this with a local printing company? Oh, that's right, Billy Long's Fed Up commercial also sent money outside of the district as well. Billy Long seems awfully ready to leave the district, and his money is leaving the district almost as fast.

I wonder if there are plans to produce the Billy Long World Poker Tour professional mouse pad, and I wonder if Billy will autograph it for an additional fee.

Icet Admits To Filing False Reports

For Release: Immediate

Saturday, June 12, 2010: WHEN confronted with compelling and damaging evidence, State Auditor candidate Allen Icet admitted to filing misstatements on multiple campaign finance reports.

On Friday, the Missouri Ethics Commission received a complaint alleging that the $25,000 Icet reported as a "contribution" on October 5, 2009 was in fact a loan. Icet reported on his required January 15 and April 15 disclosures that he had no outstanding loans. His campaign has since admitted the falsehoods contained in these reports.

The evidence provided with the complaint suggests that Icet sought to fraudulently inflate his cash on hand to deceive Missouri voters. The $25,000 loan represented fully a third of the money he raised that quarter.

Following the admission, Icet's campaign provided a paper-thin excuse to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch saying, “It's a clerical oversight. That’s what we’re calling it. A clerical oversight. It was a loan.” (http://interact.stltoday.com/blogzone/political-fix/political-fix/2010/06/ethics-complaint-tilley-donation-latest-rhubarb-in-auditor-contest/).

"Either Icet is incompetent on one hand or, on the other, he knowingly violated the law," stated Joe Passanise, treasurer for the Schweich for Auditor campaign.

"If it takes Icet and his team 8 months to discover a "clerical oversight" in his own campaign finance reports, it exemplifies the fact that he is wholly unfit to audit billions of dollars of expenditures for the State of Missouri," stated Joe Passanise. "This is not an excusable error for a failure to ‘dot an "i"’ or ‘cross a "t"’ -- this relates to a large sum repeatedly, and evidently intentionally, mis-reported in multiple locations on multiple reports.""Icet has been in the legislature for almost a decade and has filed 30 reports during that time. Icet should know the difference between a contribution and a loan -- the requirement for which is very clearly stated on the forms. No one is going to believe this explanation," noted Passanise.

"But even if this incident was just a string of "clerical oversights” spanning 8 months, Icet has no business running to be state auditor – a position which requires careful scrutiny of financial matters," stated Passanise. "Yet he wants Missourians to believe he can meet the rigorous demands of the Auditor’s office. Icet calls it a clerical oversight, when in fact it is a likely serious violation of Missouri state law."

Goodman Launches Multi-Media Advertising Campaign

The Jack Goodman campaign sent an interesting email yesterday. Among the 10 paragraphs, Goodman announces an "aggressive multi-media advertising campaign." Here it is in its entirety:

"Dear Jacob,

Since we started this campaign last year, our nation has gone another trillion dollars deeper in debt! We currently owe China, Japan, and investors worldwide (not to mention our children, grandchildren and future generations) more than $13 trillion.

According to the Obama Administration's own budget, we will owe more than $20 trillion within the next 10 years.

It is obvious to most of us in the real world that our nation is being led down an unsustainable course and we must stop the reckless spending now! Last year, I called for strict measures on fiscal restraint. The most basic and obvious things we can do, to any of us who have to balance our own checkbooks or make payroll, are to control spending and balance the budget. If we don't get spending under control it will become a serious threat to our democracy, national security and American way of life.

Nancy Pelosi and her majority in Congress want us to believe that increasing taxes or implementing a new "value added" tax will solve our problems. Tax increases and bigger government are not the solution, especially now, when we need to be creating jobs--not punishing employers or consumers. Employers cannot add money to payroll and create new jobs if the government is taking away the earnings that would be spent on additional payroll.

I need your help to fire Nancy Pelosi and stop the radical agenda in Washington, D.C., that is taking our government even farther away from the people. The greatness of America is her people. America was founded as the only nation in the where the people select representatives to place the people's values into the laws we expect each other to live by. We cannot allow the current leaders to succeed in their efforts to remake America into a nation like all the others, where an elite ruling class imposes its will upon their subjects.

Laura and I are willing to uproot our lives to fight this battle, but we cannot get there alone. We are working hard to win -- I have personally been at more than 370 campaign events so far, but we still need your help.

We need you to be one of 100 people to go to our website, www.jackgoodman.org and help us by contributing $10 or more to our campaign to help save America.

Months ago, we surpassed fundraising goals for the operation and overhead of this campaign. Every dollar raised now will be used to spread our message through an aggressive multi-media advertising campaign.

Our campaign has a full head of steam and continues to gain momentum toward victory. Over 1,500 volunteers are helping us spread our message across the 7th Congressional District.
I very sincerely appreciate all the friends and supporters who continue to help us day after day as we approach the August 3 election."

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The internet has already had an immense impact on this primary. Goes to show how a good internet presence helps candidates (or in some cases hurts candidates), in a heated Congressional primary. If this email fundraising takes hold and Goodman is able to launch a successful advertising campaign, it could change the results.

Icet Campaign Fraud

For Release: Immediate

For More Information Contact: 314.292.9866

Friday, June 11, 2010: A complaint filed with The Missouri Ethics Commission today contains compelling evidence that Allen Icet, a candidate for Missouri State Auditor, failed to report a loan for $25,000, and instead showed it as a contribution to hide the fact that his campaign was having financial difficulties. The report documents that Icet appears to have committed multiple, intentional, serious violations of Missouri campaign finance laws.

"Icet should step aside. If a candidate will file what appear on their face to be false finance reports to bolster his campaign, what will he will do if elected? The State Auditor needs to be ethical and independent from political influence to insure our tax dollars are protected," stated Joe Passanise, Treasurer for Tom Schweich.

"It seems clear that the motive for the mis-reporting was Icet was trying to hide fundraising problems and convince donors and rank-and-file Republicans that his campaign was viable when in fact it was, and is, experiencing substantial difficulties," claimed Passanise.

On October 5, 2009, Allen Icet received a $25,000 loan from "Friends of Tilley" -- a political action committee. Yet Icet repeatedly reported that sum as a cash contribution, and repeatedly stated on Missouri Ethics Commission forms that he had no loans or outstanding indebtedness.

On January 15, 2010, Icet reported approximately $75,000 in cash contributions for the period ending December 31 of which the Friends of Tilley monies accounted for a third of his total contributions. Icet also stated that he had no loans or indebtedness on that report, and restated that contention on a report filed on April 15. These statements all appear to have been false.

"The mis-reporting of the loan by Icet was an intentional act designed to deceive Missouri voters into believing that Icet's campaign had received much greater sums in contributions than it in fact had, and that it had much more unencumbered cash than was actually true. It was also designed to fool donors into believing that Icet had much greater support than he did," said Passanise. "It is a very serious matter."

The complaint had attached email correspondence that Icet was worried about his cash on hand numbers, so Icet asked for $25,000 with the express understanding that he (Icet) would repay the loan after the August 3 primary. The email indicates that Icet understood the sum to be loan and that the loan should have been reported as such.

"As a longtime Jefferson City insider, Icet is one of the largest recipients of lobbyist gifts, meals and trips. He has voted repeatedly to increase the budget and fund new programs. How can he audit programs he as budget chairman funded? Does anyone believe that he can be objective and admit that programs he voted to fund are now wasteful and inefficient -- of course not," said Passanise, "Now he appears to have been caught red-handed falsifying a campaign finance report. That is why we need a real outsider with the right experience to protect taxpayers from waste, fraud and abuse of our money."

Honoring Islam on Ground Zero

Written by: Bryan Ridenour

Does anyone else marvel at the ignorance of liberalism? Almost daily, head-shaking news accounts cross the wire. Whale lovers blubbering over the lack of sanctions in the whaling industry, “before reading” warnings printed on the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, or repealing “Don't Ask Don't Tell,” all cause me to wonder if the United States of America is in an irreversible tell spin. Many Americans agree, November can't come soon enough. But when one thinks the Left can't stoop any lower, another jaw-dropping headline makes news.

A New York City Community Board approved a plan to build a mosque near the site of Ground Zero. After several hours of heated debate, the council voted and by a tally of 29 – 1 endorsed the Muslim-led project. Thankfully, the Board does not have the final word, but citizens often times support decisions made by the Board. Members supporting the project bragged on New York's sensitivity to diversity and tolerance.

Called the Cordoba Initiative, the $100 million dollar, thirteen story center plans to be built 600 feet from Ground Zero. The Cordoba Initiative website shares that the center will be “guided by universal values in their truest form- compassion, generosity, and respect for all.” Respect for all? The stated purpose and goal of the Cordoba Initiative obviously fails to take into consideration the feelings of the families who lost loved ones on 9/11. Let's consider a hypothetical situation. What if Protestants torpedoed into the Twin Towers on that fateful day almost a decade ago, killing nearly 3,000 people? Fast forward to 2010 and envision the Reverend Billy Graham holding a press conference in Lower Manhattan, announcing his intention to erect a $100 million dollar Evangelical Worship Center, its stated objective affording “respect for all.” Can you imagine the outrage? Can you almost hear the perfectly coiffed talking heads on CNN spouting vitriolic criticisms of such a proposal? Can you imagine a vote of 29 – 1 sanctioning such a venture? But where's the media outcry over a Board's endorsement of a proposed “Mecca” of sorts at the site of the largest scale terrorist attack on American soil, perpetrated by Islamic radicals.

If this project comes to fruition, no longer is Ground Zero a memorial of staggering loss, but the hallowed ground of Islam's victorious attack on “infidel” soil. Let's imagine another chilling scenario. It's September 11th, and as congregants solemnly gather to remember the fallen, carillon from the Cordoba Mosque chime. The solemn reading of those perishing, drowned out by the Islamic call to prayer. If the Cordoba Initiative desires “respect for all”, the mosque's construction should be in a location where Ground Zero is not eclipsed by its long shadow.

Billy Long: Fed Up or Fed Out?

In what appears to be an America's Got Talent reject audition, the Billy Long campaign has launched their first advertising campaign that hit the Joplin market earlier this week. In the commercial, Billy is shaking his arms and be-bopping up and down in front of the podium looking like he's hoping 'Fed Up?' will be the next 'Pants on the Ground.'

You really have to ask yourself after watching the commercial, is Billy Long fed up or just fed out? With his huge war chest, it appears to me he is a fattened farm animal heading to slaughter and the hands of his campaign advisors are placed deep in his pockets.

I myself would like to personally ask any of these people in his first commercial if they really believe what they are saying--that is providing they aren't paid actors receiving some of Billy Long's campaign pot to say nice things about Billy. No offense, but this commercial seems too scripted. Notice the real lack of excitement in this commercial. How many people actually showed up? I see more grass stretching out the outfield wall with the Billy Long sign on it than I do excited and believable people.

Billy attacks liberals from the beginning of the commercial--yes the same Billy Long that used to praise Claire McCaskill on KWTO--the same McCaskill that helped bring Obamacare to law. How can Billy praise a proven liberal like Claire McCaskill during his radio days while attacking Republican Matt Blunt? Oh Billy, hang on for the ride to your defeat!

Then you have the woman who says 'he is not a politician.' Really? Then why did Billy go hire the career politician producing machine of Jeff Roe and James Harris? Why is Billy in Washington every few weeks looking for the support of special interest groups? Billy was a beltway insider months before this commercial was produced.

Then the next woman on the commercial says Billy Long represents Missouri values. I have lived in Missouri most of my life. We are a people with common sense who like to be shown the truth. Look around on the internet and this blog at Billy Long's gambling--$15,000 games, and I am sure there are many other high-stakes games from what I hear that we don't even know about. Does this sound like Missouri values to you? Then he tells so many different stories to so many different people to spin his gambling. These aren't my values. Are they yours?

Billy Long dances on stage while he says he is fed up with the direction of this country. Yet, he has yet to offer one solid solution to steer the country back in the right direction other than signing a bunch of pledges. It's easy to say you are fed up, but a real leader comes up with common sense solutions based on Constitutional principals, something Billy Long stumbles over if you talk to him long enough.

The next woman says Billy Long will stand up to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. Billy Long couldn't even stand up to me. A few months ago, he offered me a job in his campaign to remove this site. While this is old news, it reminds that Billy Long will go to Washington and make the deals he says he is above. Something tells me if Pelosi sees this commercial, she would fall out of her chair with laughter.

"He will fight to repeal Obama's healthcare plan." Shortly after it was passed, Billy was telling people he was going to go to Washington to vote the healthcare plan away. It doesn't work that way. It's just not that simple. The fight against the healthcare law must happen within the states, just like what is happening in Missouri. As long as Barack Obama is president, Billy isn't going to fight anything successfully.

I don't know about you, but I am fed up with Billy Long. He isn't this honorable man worthy of this office. He is everything he says he isn't. What Billy doesn't know is the fight is just beginning on Long is Wrong. We have saved the best for last, and the one thing Billy Long will be fed up with the closer we get to the August 3rd primary is this blog. Get ready, it's going to be a wild ride for Billy Long, and there is a crash in the end.

Wisdom in the Classroom

Jeff Wisdom is a busy man. While running for Congress in Missouri's 7th Congressional District, he serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve and teaches economics at OTC's Springfield location. When my sister, Victoria, told me she was planning on taking economics this summer, I immediately told her to try to get in to Mr. Wisdom's class.

After only two classes, I had an interesting conversation with her. Victoria says that Mr. Wisdom does "a good job of relating the economic information to everyday news." Topics discussed in the first full lecture included opportunity costs and how production of goods and services is influenced by improvements in technology. They also covered property rights and the fact that individuals' rights to their property is a key factor in a free market economy. She expressed that his lectures were applicable to real-world situations, even in her rehab therapy job at one of the hospitals in Springfield.

We can now easily reject arguments that say Jeff Wisdom's economic understanding is only a classroom theory. Coming from one of his own students after only one week of class, Jeff Wisdom has the knowledge needed to fix the mess we are in.
"Clay, I am proud to have made your acquaintance, and also know you are a committed patriot who's not just messin' around! Thank you!" - Doug Burlison, Springfield, MO City Councilman
