Some Thoughts About Apple Computers and Chinese Children Builing iPods
You take a product like Apple's, which has a cult-like appeal, and suddenly the need to earn big profits to please stockholders is overlooked. I am also amazed that my point was missed. Companies like Apple, which donate heavily to the Democratic party get a pass when it comes to ethics when it comes to gaining a profit. Did Apple know they were using kids to build iPods prior to the audit, who really knows?
The fact remains, companies like oil, insurance, and other Wall Street profiteers are demonized for doing the exact thing Apple does--earn a profit. Yet you put the word Apple with liberal, and it brings out people defending huge profits. Interesting how that works.

Facebook Sex and Blackmail Gets Teenager 15 Years in Prison
The 19-year-old Stancl managed to get over 30 high school boys to send him photos, and seven of the boys fell for his threats.
My question is this. When are teenagers going to learn that when they take naked digital images of themselves, that image can multiply thousands of times in a very short period of time and cause them great embarrassment. There have been too many stories of sexting go bad. Seriously, they should take some advice from an adult who has personally seen how the Internet can nearly destroy some one's life. (Not mine, just someone I cared a lot about.)
As for Stancl, he is getting what he deserves. That's not always the case. It's easy to get suckered in my someone who is someone else than they claim to be on the Internet.

Al Gore and Avatar to Attend Brazil Environmental Conference
Gore and director James Cameron are scheduled to attend the International Sustainability Forum in northern Manaus next month. Both will give it's still really, really, really bad speeches despite the top climate scientists were caught cheating and fixing temperatures.
Of course, since Cameron's fictional movie touches on how greedy human mining efforts threatened the rain-forest like planet, Cameron, like Gore, is now considered another expert in the global warming science. It's just so dishonest!
Further Proof Billy Long is Buying the Missouri House Seat: 20% of His Campaign Contributions Are From His Own Pocket

People throughout Missouri's Seventh Congressional District, which covers the Southwest Missouri from the Springfield area to the Joplin area, ask is Billy Long trying to purchase a seat in the House of Representatives. Digging through Billy Long's campaign contributions, it's easy to make the argument that indeed money is the path Billy Long beleives will win him the seat in Congress. I find this offensive, especially considering the mood of the country. Voters are looking for real people to lead--not more of the same questionable leadership funded by the once mighty dollar.
While Billy Long's campaign contributions leave open many questions about Long's character, one stands out more than others. Before we examine it, let's look at the giant Billy Long is when it comes to money in the campaign. After all, Billy Long says he isn't a career politician, but every career politician I have known puts fundraising first. Billy Long lacks gravitas when it comes to policy and solutions, but Long definitely knows how to take money from people as you can see from his daily tweets.
Last I looked, Billy Long had raised over $500,000 in campaign donations for both the primary and the general election. His nearest competitor is approximately $300,000 beneath Long's massive war chest.
I mentioned earlier, many people are realizing Billy Long hopes to purchase the House seat. He also plans on staying there until he is officially at retirement age, which I think shows weakness in his claim he isn't a career politician. He says he will serve no more than 12 years, but 12 years puts him at retirement age. It's no wonder Billy Long has invested $100,000 of his own money to finance his campaign, he is looking for a job in the middle of the worst real estate crisis in recent times to provide him security.
Billy Long's deep, rich pockets, led to a donation that is as much if not more than all the contributions collected together by the Michael Wardell, Jeff Wisdom, Mike Moon, and Bob Schanz campaigns. In terms of Jack Goodman and Gary Nodler, it totals nearly half of their total campaign funds, according to the last reports I have seen on the KY3 Political Notebook and KSPR Web site.
With the race for Congress heating up, Billy's own donation gives him a financial advantage barely matched by the other candidates. Make no mistake, Billy Long knows it's money and not his brain that is his best chance winning the Seventh Congressional District. Billy Long's campaign strategy, which he is now frequently denying, is to purchase this seat.
Billy Long Wants to Buy Southwest Missouri's Seat in Congress

There are federal limits as to the amount of campaign contribution a donor can give to a candidate for the primary and the general election. With that said, a candidate like we have seen in the past with Hillary Clinton and Ross Perot, can use as much as their own money to fund their own campaign.
Just How Big of a Loser is Obama?: It Could be Proven Big With Olympic Loss to Rio

“What is shocking is this parallel power, the fact that they are very young,” said André Cabral De Almeida Cardoso, 41, a teacher. “They are so brazen about it.”
Valera dos Santos, 34, a maid who lives in a favela in São Paulo, said: “My God, I’ve never seen pictures like this. It’s absurd, they’re just boys.”
The journalists who captured the images were also taken aback. “Even knowing the reality of what could happen, you are still shocked by the glamour that these weapons represent in the arms of minors,” said Fernando Torres, 27, one of a team of three who spent four nights undercover at the Corner of Fear.
“These images are desolate,” said Lucy Petroucic, 56, a translator. “These boys have become little Taleban who think they have nothing to lose.”
Within hours, police arrested one of a group of bandits shown in the video and promised that changes were on the way. Luiz Fernando Pezão, Rio’s Deputy Governor, told reporters that a new police base would open nearby in May.

Michael Wardell, Candidate for Congress Missouri 7th Calls for Global Warming Hearings

On February 23rd, 2010, Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) asked the Obama administration to open up a criminal investigation into the Climategate scandal, calling it “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation.” Congressional candidate, Michael Wardell, running for the 7th CD in Missouri took the lead for demanding the same hearings earlier this month.
In his press release Wardell is quoted as saying that:
… the GAO launch a fraud investigation into the expense and waste to the American Taxpayer on a direct and indirect level.
From the grocery bags used in the Military Exchanges, to the Billions of Dollars wasted on new satellites for imagery of the Arctic. Every Dollar must be accounted for.
305 million Americans have altered their lives, paid undue taxes, and were levied unnecessary fee's. Our children have been taught in our schools and on federally funded commercials either T.V. or radio that this is a problem and it's all a LIE!
If I were in Congress today, I would initiate a total recall of all marketing and educational material the U.S. Taxpayer was deceived into purchasing in order to perpetuate this absurdity, and I would also demand all funds paid to any external U.S. Government body, group, individual. and molecule be accounted for and sent to the Attorney General of the United States Office for immediate litigation for the repatriation of U.S. Taxpayer Funds, and the freezing of all assets associated with this prevarication until a U.S. Court has determined if any monies are due to the People of these United States of America.
Senator Inhofe’s call was also right on the mark stating:
The Minority Staff of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works believe the scientists involved may have violated fundamental ethical principles governing taxpayer-funded research and, in some cases, federal laws. In addition to these findings, we believe the emails and accompanying documents seriously compromise the IPCC -backed “consensus” and its central conclusion that anthropogenic emissions are inexorably leading to environmental catastrophes
Michael Wardell is a Republican Candidate for Congress in the 7th District, Missouri and Senator Inhofe is a Republican from the state of Oklahoma.
Bob Schanz: Republican Candidate for Missouri's 7th Congressional District

With Bob Schanz entered the Missouri 7th Congressional District Republican field, he became the only American Senatorial American Spirit Award winner in the field. The American Senatorial Spirit Award is a prestigious award which only 100 Americans receive each year. Other notable winners include Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Norman Schwarzkopf.
The award exemplifies those who share an inherent belief in the greatness of our country. The medal is presented for those who display dedication, leadership, and commitment in support of Republican ideas, principles, and ideals.
I sat in Chez Roberts in Nixa, Missouri, learning more about the surprise entry in the crowded field, listening to the praises of the staff of the restaurant, and they pointed out Schanz’s dedication and community involvement in Southwest Missouri. I knew I was in the presence of a special man. Without a doubt, Schanz is one of the most colorful men in the race.
Not only can he make the claim as the lone winner of the American Senatorial American Spirit Award, he probably is the only candidate in the race that can claim Ringo Starr of the Beatles attempted to assault him after taking the picture of the famous drummer. In fact, I am willing to bet he is probably the only candidate who could have called Elvis’s father, Vernon Presley at a moment’s notice and have access to the the King himself. Schanz shared with me the pictures he had taken of Elvis and other celebrities over many decades, celebrities that include Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Gerald Ford, and a long list of country music’s legends.
Schanz has been many things in his life. He started off as a singer in Nashville with Boulder Records. He’s been a record producer at Kash Records, entertainer, commodity trader, radio personality, and a business owner, but his claim to fame came from an invitation from Mel Tillis. While Schanz was touring and singing, he kept a collection of cameras with him at all times. He got a call from Tillis one night wondering if had his cameras on him because he needed a someone to take pictures.
A few weeks later Schanz photos appeared on Tillis’s next album cover. He got paid more for that picture than he did singing, so he established Schanz Studios in Nashville. He spent the next few decades earning prestigious positions as an official photographer for ASCAP and the Country Music Association.
What drives Schanz these days is ethics in government. He has been called by one newspaper ‘the man politicians love to hate.’ He has fought long and hard to maintain honest government in Taney County, Missouri. Most recently, he has been fighting for an audit of the Taney County government.
Schanz founded the Taney County Citizens in Action (CIA) organization. Now defunct, their goal was to enforce ethics in local and county government. Now Schanz wants to take what he learned in Taney County as a citizen activist and challenge the system in Washington DC.
He found himself angered at Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, and decided he could do something about it by running for Congress. He opposes the special treatments Congress gets today, and is tired of their big spending and especially the bailouts. He feels by challenging the powers that be that he can start a grassroots movement in Congress that will spread not only into the federal government but state and local government as well.
Schanz also believes Americans are taxed to the max. He wants to look for viable solutions that permanently eases Americans’ tax burdens. He is a strong advocate of the Second Amendment, and wants to fight big government as well.
His real passion is holding Congress to the same laws they pass. He wants to make sure violators face the same penalties that regular Americans face when they break the law. If Bob Schanz is elected to Congress, he will be a strong voice of government ethics.
Currently Schanz is working to help promote Twice Adopted. They are a music group of adopted children from Guatemala and Peru, which he hopes he can help get them recorded. They currently sing in Branson.
Schanz’s Web site is not live. He has bought the domain name which is http://www.bobforcongress.org/. Bob says the new Web site should be up in a few weeks. Until then, he asks voters, supporters, and the media to call him if they have any questions about his candidacy. Schanz phone number is (417) 336-5229.

Rush Limbaugh Cites Left Coast Rebel: Tilikum the Killer Whale Seen at Tea Party

Great blog Tim! It's just a brilliant piece! (Also Tim, please accept my apologies for being short on the phone. I was getting ready to throw my Dell out the window.)
Here is the monolog from Rush Limbaugh's show: RUSH: By the way, do you know what I saw? I saw a blog.. Did you know that that killer whale Tilikum or whatever was, was at a tea party? That murderous whale was at a tea party rally. I saw a picture of it. I mean these tea party people -- (laughing) Really, some blogger Photoshopped the whale sitting there among the tea party protesters (laughing) -- it's clever. Very clever.
Not a bad couple of days for two aggressive bloggers, eh Tim? In case you missed it as well, Rush cited this blog the day before, which is strange considering Tim is my best blogging friend.
My First Hitler Video: Hitler Gets Angry at the Billy Long Congressional Campaign
I have created one of those viral Hitler videos as political satire piece against Billy Long, who is running for Congress in Missouri's Seventh Congressional District. Billy Long is a great example of how not to run a campaign with his strange tweets, gaffes, poor interviews, and avoiding the issues and debates exposed here on Billy Long is Wrong.
This video is political satire. It was not designed to be anti-Semitic. These videos go viral the instance they are released, and I thought I would have some fun with it after Rush Limbaugh promoted my blog on his show earlier this week.

This Makes Me Happy USA Women's Hockey Team Lost to Canada: Julie Chu and US Census Propaganda

I think I understand why the USA women’s hockey team lost. They have been too busy producing US government census propaganda that robbed them from their practice time.
I am sitting listening to the USA men’s hockey team whip up on Finland, six to one, on the MSNBC live streaming feed, when suddenly silver medalist Julie Chu introduces herself begging for Americans to answer this year’s intrusive census. I wonder how much of our tax dollars this USA hockey player made to smile and sell us on answering all of our census questions, even the unconstitutional questions beyond the required head count.
Since the federal census advertising campaign kicked off, millions of more dollars have been totaled into the national debt for these feel-good commercials. Why our government is spending so much for a head count is beyond me, other than these happy commercials will make people think less about the census requirements in the Constitution and answer the more specific questions the government is asking this year. (Remember when the census was planned, ACORN was supposed to participate as well.) I still haven’t figured out why Americans can’t log into a Web site and fill out the questionnaire not only to save processing and supply costs, but also to save big costs to taxpayers including hiring thousands of people to count heads.
Because of this commercial, I suddenly wish I was on the ice smoking a cigar with the Canadian women’s hockey team. I could have brought the Shiner Bock to drink. I bet you can't get that over the border.
Rick Perry Gets Help From ABBA in Texas Gubernatorial Race: Dancing Queen is now Earmark Queen
I don’t get it. I never have. What is the fascination with ABBA? They offer them millions to get back together, and I remind you the world didn’t stop when ABBA broke up. None the less, ABBA is now part of the getting dirtier Texas gubernatorial race.
NAFTA Super Highway governor, Rick Perry, decided to draft ABBA to attack Kay Bailey Hutchinson. No don’t get your hopes of if you are a fan, he just borrowed an ABBA song and gave it a Rush Limbaugh like spin—Dancing Queen is now Earmark Queen. Something tells me it’s not going to be a hit on the club scene.
A Majority of Americans Believe the Federal Government is a Threat to Freedoms and Rights
A new poll from CNN/Opinions Research Corporation shows that 56% of Americans believe the growing federal government is a threat to freedom and the our rights. Thank God this country has awoken, and realize what things like Obama tracking Americans with their cell phones, more government, and some of the other concepts coming out of DC mean on a deeper level.
The size of the federal government concerns most of Americans, the other 44% are mistaken and obviously aren’t familiar with the limits on government presented in the Constitution. Surprisingly, a higher number of Democrats believe the same. Nearly 40% who claim they were Democrats fear the federal government has grown too powerful and are a threat to our rights.
Considering the polls is coming from CNN, you have to wonder if the numbers are actually higher, since they lean left and in the past have steered their polling to the left.
Sad News Sea World: Dawn Brancheau Was Growing Hair For Locks of Love
Cigars and Champagne: Are Americans Sore Losers?

So I am listening to ABC news during my lunch hour on the radio between hours of Rush Limbaugh. They announce the Canadian women’s hockey team beat the powerful US women’s team. To celebrate, after the fans leave the building with a few members of the media present, they break out cigars and champagne to celebrate.
I couldn’t believe what I heard next. The announcer said while most people didn’t mind in Canada, south of the boarder roared with controversy. South of the boarder means the United States, home of the silver medal team. We are? I wasn’t offended. Were you?
So they broke out some cigars, popped some corks, and drank some beers? Guys like Michael Jordan used to do the same thing, so why is it Americans don’t like it when a women’s team did it? Besides our 1998 men's hockey team trashed their rooms at the Olympics village at Nagano. We really don't have a good record to criticize Canada for cigars and champagne.

Personally, I think the media is pushing a story with no merit. I mean we are the country represented by Brandi Chastain, who ripped off her shirt showing the world some skin after the 1999 Soccer World Cup championship. We are the country that developed end zone dances, surely we aren’t the country that criticizes Canadian women for celebrating, are we? I am not complaining. Congratulations to our Canadian friends.
While I know from being an American, we absolutely do not like to lose. I do know when we do lose, we lose with dignity. I am just not buying this story that Americans are sore losers. I mean, is anyone else offended? Now thanks to whatever griping has gone on, the International Olympic Committee is going to investigate the team for the celebration. Please, with all the doping going on in sports today, you are going to make these ladies feel guilty for a little celebration? The IOC says they don't want the athletes drinking in public. Boo hoo! Let them celebrate! It's know wonder the Olympic viewing ratings are dropping.
Al Gore Comes Out of Hibernation After Climategate Faces Personal Attacks at Apple Computer's Shareholders Meeting
Apple computers is a liberal company, but that didn’t stop the criticism of Al Gore, who came out of hiding to attend the annual shareholders meeting. Gore faced debate of the shareholders. One shareholder stood up and confronted Gore:
A longtime and well-known Apple shareholder--some would say gadfly--who introduced himself as Sheldon, stood at the microphone and urged against Gore's re-election to the board. Gore "has become a laughingstock. The glaciers have not melted," Sheldon said, referring to Gore's views on global warming. "If his advice he gives to Apple is as faulty as his views on the environment then he doesn't need to be re-elected."
Bravo, bravo Mr. Sheldon. I knew there was a reason I didn’t want to buy an Apple product. Perhaps, when you remove the snake oil salesman from your board, I might look at enhancing my electronics collection with an Apple product.
January 2010 Hottest Ever on Record According to Global Warming Scientists
With climate change crashing throughout the month of January with the realization Hadley CRU under the leadership of climatologist Phil Jones cooked the records to make it appear temperatures were hotter than they were, the global warming scientists want us to believe January 2010 is the hottest on record. I’m not kidding.
From the Express:
CLIMATE scientists yesterday stunned Britons suffering the coldest winter for 30 years by claiming last month was the hottest January the world has ever seen.
The remarkable claim, based on global satellite data, follows Arctic temperatures that brought snow, ice and travel chaos to millions in the UK.
At the height of the big freeze, the entire country was blanketed in snow. But Australian weather expert Professor Neville Nicholls, of Monash University in Melbourne, said yesterday: “January, according to satellite data, was the hottest January we’ve ever seen.
“Last November was the hottest November we’ve ever seen. November-January as a whole is the hottest November-January the world has seen.” Veteran climatologist Professor Nicholls was speaking at an online climate change briefing, added: “It’s not warming the same everywhere but it is really quite challenging to find places that haven’t warmed in the past 50 years.”
Yes, and I am hoping it warms again in a few weeks because I am ready for some global warming. This winter has been miserably cold!

Rasmussen Presidential Approval Poll shows Obama has Dropped to 44%.
The new Rasmussen presidential approval poll is out. Obama has fallen to 44% approval, inching closer to George W. Bush’s lowest approval numbers. My bet, is this little show he tried to put own that exposed his incapability to lead, especially in the bipartisan new tone he promised in his State of the Union address will probably further hurt this number.
Even the mainstream media is bored with Obama. They were quick to pull their cameras off Obama and resume to regular programming, and as Rush just said, Obama himself admitted it was a waste of time stating he there probably wouldn’t be another one.
Can Tom Udall be even dumber than Joe Biden?: Phil From Wisconsin on Tom Udall's Cap and Trade Comment
Sen. Udall Sees China As Impetus for U.S. Cap-and-Trade Bill
(CNSNews.com) – Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) urged his fellow lawmakers to push ahead with “cap-and-trade” energy legislation and the creation of “green jobs,” saying that China is competition for the United States and does not “have to go through the democratic processes that we do.”
I'm not sure if this is even dumber than saying we have to spend our way out of recession that was caused by overspending or not. But saying we need to pass Cap and Tax because we have to compete with China in a global market is way up there. Is there any liberal that has an IQ that stretches all the way up to double digits?
Why is General Motors Interested in What People Have to Say About Rhonda Smith's Testimony?

Earlier this week I suggested that I suspected that Rhonda Smith was lying to Congress in her testimony to Congress. She claimed her Lexus took off on her and sped up to over 100 miles per hour. While this was happening, she managed to call her husband, citing she was using her Blue Tooth receiver (for safety of course) while slamming the car into reverse, and no one has figured out why she didn’t put it in neutral and shut the car off using the key. Something stinks about her testimony, and I have wondered if and how much GM or the UAW paid her to testify in front of Congress, and why her story hasn’t been more scrutinized.
Since I posted that, I noticed General Motors, who is a frequent visitor of the site over the last few months, visited again yesterday. They specifically used the term ‘Lexus customer Rhonda Smith” in their Google search. I wonder why General Motors is so interested in what people are saying about Rhonda Smith? Could we be onto something that she was paid by the UAW or GM to embellish her story with pathos? These things make you wonder.
A Veteran in the Dental Industry Looks at Representative Slaughter's Claim, "She wore her dead sister's teeth"

Slaughter said, "You will not believe this and I know you won't, but it's true. Her sister died. This poor woman had no dentures. She wore her dead sister's teeth, which of course were uncomfortable and did not fit."
I have personally worked with many people who couldn’t even bear their own dentures if they weren’t fitted properly, Ms. Slaughter. The idea that her sister’s maxillary and mandibular arch matched up enough to even tolerate wearing her dentures is beyond me. It may have happened, but it was stupidity that made it happen, not the lack of government programs.
I am well aware, after serving with Lieutenant Colonel Robert Dewar, DDS, in the Army and observing him as a civilian practitioner in Springfield, Missouri, Medicaid offers plenty of options for this woman to deal with her loss of teeth. If that isn’t enough, I know people from around the country, from religious missionaries who work as dentists donating their lives to helping people both inside and outside the United States, as well as business men in the dental industry who work with dental charities to help the poor, there are plenty of options for the woman Slaughter describes without creating another government program that is now projected to cost taxpayers $1.6 trillion over the next ten years.
Like Rhonda Smith’s testimony at the Toyota hearing, Representative Slaughter’s story is just meaningless pathos. As a veteran in the dental industry, there are plenty of programs that could have helped this woman.
Another Billy Long Tweet Opens Questions About Billy Long Auctions and His True Intentions for Running for Congress

Scanning Billy Long’s Twitter page this morning before work, I noticed Billy Long tweeted something else that opens the doors for questions.
Long’s tweet reads: Headed to Crane to check out another potential real estate auction - lots of folks needing to sell - not many wanting to buy though
I just have to wonder, is Billy Long running for Congress because he cares about Southwest Missouri? Or is Billy Long running for Congress because his business is hurting or failing because of the bad real estate market?
Once again this week, Billy Long on Joplin radio repeated he was making a sacrifice to run for Congress. He stated he was going to have to sell his business if he wins the seat. In an earlier interview, Billy complained that his business wouldn’t be worth that much if he sold it.
One has to wonder if the state of Billy Long Auctions is the real reason Long is willing to so easily walk away from the Auction business. The real estate market is the worst it’s been in a long time, and the housing market news released yesterday showed home sales had reached a record low.
The question that needs to be asked is simply this. Is Billy Long looking at a seat in Congress as job security? It makes no sense to me that Billy Long, who has made millions in the Ozarks as the top auctioneer of real estate is walking away from his little empire without any hesitation for a seat in Congress that I would think pays less, providing Billy Long is an honest man. I think I have established doubts in the minds of many people that he probably is not an honest man.
Could Billy Long be running from the real estate market in hopes of buying a seat in the United States Congress for job security, a retirement pension, a sweet healthcare plan, and lots of extra benefits from lobbyists who would pander to Billy for a vote knowing the commercial real estate bubble is about to pop and the housing market has a long way to recovery?
Billy Long Posts Another Questionable Tweet: Auction Business Not Doing Good Billy?

Scanning Billy Long’s Twitter page this morning before work, I noticed Billy Long tweeted something else that opens the doors for questions.
Long’s tweet reads: Headed to Crane to check out another potential real estate auction - lots of folks needing to sell - not many wanting to buy though

Jeff Wisdom: Candidate for Missouri's 7th Congressional District

The amount of fundraising by a certain candidate in the Republican field for the Missouri Seventh Congressional District nomination has put a cloud over some very talented candidates in the race. One of those candidates is Jeff Wisdom, a college economics instructor in Springfield, Missouri. I met Mr. Wisdom for lunch today and had a spirited conversation about why he wants to be the next person to represent Southwest Missouri in Congress.
“Power belongs to the people and the federal government has forgotten that,” Wisdom states passionately as his soup starts to cool. “Most of the governing in this country needs to take place on the state and local levels. Too much power in the federal government has created more government spending.”
High government spending and increasing national debt worries Wisdom, who has studied economics for over 20 years and teaches economics on the college level for nearly 15. Wisdom worries too many states are balancing their budgets with federal stimulus money and that’s leading to a larger problem which more Americans will soon face.
Wisdom firmly stated, we must improve the economy’s health through consumer spending, not with more government spending. Private investment creates the jobs Americans need, stimulus is just creating temporary bike trail paving projects.
Wisdom didn’t stop at just pointing out the problems; he offered solid solutions in our conversations. A strong advocate of the 10th Amendment, Wisdom knows the power needs to be returned to the states. He is a strong supporter of the fair tax, and he says the fair tax needs to be used to return the powers to the states.
He would first move to repeal the dangerous 16th Amendment which places no limits on the government to collect whatever rate of taxation from income as Congress wants. Wisdom explained the current income tax system is non-conducive for economic growth, as he points towards the multiple recessions and depression which occurred after the Federal Reserve and the federal income tax were established.
The current tax system places the burden on employers to collect the taxes from the employee and the file their taxes with the IRS, and this doesn’t mention the FICA taxes employers are forced to pay on each employee, Wisdom added. Wisdom believes Repealing the 16th Amendment would provide incentives for American manufacturing jobs to eventually return to the United States and return the economy from a service driven economy that produces little to a strong manufacturing country.
Wisdom’s plan goes even further. With the fair tax, he believes we can return the power to the states. If he oversees important federal tax reform legislation, he will push for a fair tax which the states are responsible for collecting. He says it is important to reverse dependency. As well, Wisdom is working on his own fair tax plan to introduce in Congress.
With the current tax system, states depend on the federal government to provide federal money to the states, but giving the states the power to collect taxes means the states would no longer have the need to depend on federal money, and the states would have the authority to pay the federal government based on only the programs the federal government has the Constitutional authority to provide.
Wisdom’s experience and knowledge of economics sets him apart from most of the candidates. He says of all the candidates, he believes he is the most well rounded. His experience includes running a small business, teaching economics, and studying political science. He currently holds the following degrees: Economics BBA, Political Science BS, a master’s degree in and an educational specialist degree.
Wisdom also worked within the banking industry as well as owned a small retail establishment. He knows what it is to work hard, struggle, and live from paycheck to paycheck. He is one of the candidates that can relate to what people are facing in Southwest Missouri.
He is also an Iraq veteran who has personal experience with dealing with terrorists on a close level. In Iraq, Wisdom worked in the Navy’s detainee operations. Wisdom knows from experience the dangers these men present to our country, and it’s one of his main concerns along with the national debt and state of the economy that he will face with confidence as a member of Congress.
Wisdom states that is two of his strengths. He is the only person in the race with recent economics and terrorism experience.
Wisdom also holds a solid view for our founding fathers’ intentions as they ratified our Constitution. In regards to the General Welfare clause, Wisdom states he will stick to the 18 enumerated powers (Article One, Section Eight) and not use the General Welfare clause to provide the government more power over its citizens by freeing them of responsibility. He accuses current members of Congress of using the General Welfare clause to shape government into what they believe the government should be, not the government the founding fathers intended.
Wisdom says for any piece of legislation that requires his vote, it must fall within the 18 enumerated powers, or he will not vote for the bill.
Wisdom is a 10th Amendment advocate, and he believes many federal bureaucracies need to be abolished. Included are the Department of Education, the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy, and the Department of Labor.
Wisdom believes teachers need more control of their classrooms. The federal government has a one size fits all education system, and it doesn’t always meet the needs of teachers who deal with the realities in the classroom. He wants to see the control of their schools given back the states and communities and would like to see the Department of Education abolished.
Also on his list is the Environmental Protection Agency. He says businesses are also challenged by the one size fits all mentality of the EPA. What may be environmentally sound for California isn’t for Missouri. Based on the republic our founders created, he says the states could create a more competitive business environment for their economic benefit if each was allowed to create their own environmental regulations.
Wisdom pointed out the goal of the Department of Energy was to make American less dependent on foreign energy. Thirty-one years after its conception, we are more dependent on foreign oil and the Department of Energy has just become another expensive, inefficient bureaucracy. He supports its abolishment as well.
Wisdom says he’s the hard working, candidate who has overcome the struggles most Southwest Missourians face, set goals, and has worked hard to achieve them. After talking to Wisdom today, I think he is a candidate that has a lot to offer Southwest Missouri considering his background.
Obama is Coming After Your 401K: Obama's Budget Plans to Nationalize 401K Plans
I warned you a week ago. The United States government is looking at 401K plans to fund the national debt. Obama is calling for establishing automatic workplace pension plans. This means the government will force you to pay another retirement tax, just like they did with Social Security through the FICA tax.
It’s was reported last week, the government was looking at confiscating all 401 k plans to help fund the debt, in exchange for US Treasury bonds that pay interest. Now Obama is pushing the plan.
They are calling Obama’s plan a way to protect your retirement savings. I told you this was coming in the name of security. An early analysis of Obama’s plan, shows the following disadvantage to Obama’s plan.
From the Daily Market:
This proposal is in the 2010 Budget and may be a start of a Government takeover of the American 401k and Retirement Account system. Obama is giving retirement, IRA, and 401k savers something to monitor closely….
President Barack Obama is calling for establishing automatic workplace pensions and expanding unemployment insurance as part of his spending plan for the U.S. Labor Department next fiscal year. We liken this to an “Obama 401k Plan”
The budget “lays the groundwork for future establishment of a system of automatic workplace pensions, to operate alongside Social Security, that is expected to dramatically increase” retirement and personal savings, Obama’s Office of Management and Budget said in its outline, without giving details on the costs.
Obama 401k Plan: What it entails
The plan would force employers that don’t offer retirement plans to enroll employees in a “direct-deposit IRA account,” with the option for workers themselves to opt out. Currently, 75 million working Americans, or about half the workforce, lacks employer-based retirement plans, according to the administration.
The troubling thing to me is that the government would pay a 3% fixed interest rate on the accounts as opposed to the diverse mutual fund offerings in a traditional 401k plan. In effect, this would create a “Social Security” type structure to your retirement, IRA, or 401k.
The lack of equity options in your 401k plan would dramatically affect the possible returns, especially over an extended period of time. Just think, the average equity return over the stock market’s history is somewhere between 9-11%. Do you think that you would be happy with 3%?
A traditional 401k Savings Plan vs. an Obama 401k Plan
$10,000 invested over a 30 year period at a 3% interest Rate
Final Savings Balance:$ 24568.42
$10,000 invested over a 30 year period at a 8% rate of return
Final Savings Balance:$ 109357.30
That is a $84,789 Difference to your disadvantage!
$10,000 invested over 30 years with an annual contribution of $2,000 at 3%
Final Savings Balance:$ 121302.74
$10,000 invested over 30 years with an annual contribution of $2,000 at 8%
Final Savings Balance:$ 356756.97
That is a $235,454 Difference to your disadvantage!
That is $235,454 less you will have on average with the Obama plan, if Obama is successful in replacing the 401k with another government retirement program. I will pull my 401K and pay the less taxes than let the government confiscate it with a 100% tax.
