Ike Skelton's Days in Congress May be Numbered Even if He Beats Vicky Hartzler

There is a good chance republicans will maintain their majority in Jefferson City after November. Now the news has been announced that Missouri will probably lose one of their 11 House seats thanks to the Census redistricting Congress, the majority in Jefferson City will help consider what part of Missouri will lose their House seat. Ike Skelton, the Congressman representing an area north of Springfield and Joplin up to Kansas City could be forced into retirement if they find a way to draw the lines.

Of course what may save Skelton is to look at Democratic districts in St. Louis and Kansas City, where a more liberal Democrat sits. That is more than likely, but you have to consider since their are more state legislators coming from those districts, it's obviously going to be a drag down, knock down fight next year to decide which Congressman will lose their job when the new lines are drawn. It will be interesting to watch play out.

The best bet for Missouri's Fourth is to elect Vicky Hartzler to keep the Fourth District out of play.
