Did Republican Billy Long Lie About Taking the Family to Las Vegas?: Rumors of Vegas Evidence Could Hurt Long's Chances to Congress


What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Well, that is unless you are RINO Republican Billy Long who spent most of the primary denying gambling allegations going as far as claiming he never stepped foot in a casino to some key donors. As you know, after Scott Eckersley challenged Billy Long to ten courthouse debates, which the Long campaign agreed to, Long took off to Las Vegas for what Royce Reding called a 'family vacation' in the News-Leader.

Ah yes, this idea of a family vacation was to create family values pathos for the scarred RINO, whose reputation for high-stakes poker games was beginning to catch up with him on the campaign trail. The campaign hoped Long could quietly visit Las Vegas without being caught, but now since he is officially a federal candidate, he is being tracked and the dirt is coming out.

Rumors are there is evidence that officially proves Billy Long was not in Las Vegas with his family as the campaign noted during a News-Leader story. While this evidence has not been presented to me, so I don't know if its pictures, video, witnesses or what, I have been told the evidence could rock Billy Long's chances to become Southwest Missouri's next Congressman as people begin to discover the Long campaign hasn't been truthful about debates and Long's Vegas vacation.

As well, I don't know who holds this evidence. I do know Democrats were tracking Billy Long in Vegas and they have provided some details of Billy Long's Vegas trip, which I will describe below. I also know a former Republican congressional candidate who now opposes Long used to live in Las Vegas and has friends in high places and who work security in the casino Long visited. This is the same candidate who provided the World Poker Tour tip earlier this year.

So far, here's what we have that suggests Billy Long's family did not go with him to Las Vegas:

Billy Long was seen leaving Springfield without his family on a direct flight from Springfield to Las Vegas on Allegiant Air's Saturday flight. Within' days, local Democrats were talking within their ranks of Billy Long's gambling habits noting he went to Las Vegas immediately after the primary. Then the blogs published the story Billy Long went to Vegas rather than stay at home and unite a divided Republican party.

It was confirmed early in the week that Billy Long was staying at the MGM Grand casino and had one room. It was later confirmed that Billy Long added a second room during his Vegas stay, possibly to make it appear like family was in Vegas with him after the news broke. Also, it was noted by the MGM phone receptionist that Billy Long checked out early. Rather than stay overnight, Billy Long took a flight with a layover in Los Angeles and arrived back in Springfield at 7:30 PM Thursday night rather than take a Friday morning direct flight to Springfield the following day. Witnesses at the airport who saw Long arriving from the airport said he wasn't with his family either.

So there are a number of questions obviously that need to be asked as it appears the Billy Long campaign has been caught in another lie. How can we trust Billy Long in Washington, when he can't even be honest about his family life and what he does or doesn't do with his family?

Why did Billy Long check into the MGM Grand with one room and later rented an additional room?

Why was he seen on the airplane to Las Vegas without his wife?

Why was he seen at the Springfield Branson National Airport without family after arriving from his flight from Las Vegas, which has a layover in Los Angeles?

Why did he not take a direct flight to Springfield and stay overnight in Vegas for a few more hours?

Why was the MGM receptionist ready to connect people to his room and then was suddenly surprised he checked out early?

Most importantly, what is this evidence that will prove Billy Long lied about his trip to Las Vegas, that indeed it was not a family vacation?

Will Billy Long's own family be able to prove they went to Las Vegas with Billy when the evidence reveals itself?

    It is really none of your business or my business where Billy Long vacations. Your Paris Hilton fascination with him is at best weird and is fast approaching sick.

    Billy Long will be remembered as a former Congressman on down the road.

    How are you going to be remembered? As the butthole who spent a year of his life attacking another person over what.......your word against his?

    You need some therapy, Bud. I'd recommend you connect with the Rabbi or your pastor and get some help.

  7. You call that an attack on Billy Long's family? Republicans have been long guilty of actual and very vicious attacks against family members. Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama just to get started. Remember the attacks on Chelsea Clinton's appearance.

    Billy Long probably did use his family to cover up a Vegas gambling trip. That doesn't make this an attack piece against the family. Anonymous 6:00 PM needs the help. Been smoking too much of Billy's wacky weed!

    Billy Long may be one day remembered as a Congressman. He will never be remembered as an honest and great Congressman. You attack someone who cares about their country so much with the words they are a butthole wasting their time. Pathetic anonymous 6:00 PM.

    The burden of representing over 600,000 Southwest Missourians as one of 435 Members of Congress will soon rest upon the shoulders of Billy Long. I believe he is up to the task.

    But you? I can't even begin to imagine what type of low-life society you desire to live in.

    You continue to refer to lies but with no proof?

    If you were one of my employees, I'd have to have a brief meeting and understanding about how you view society and how you are determined to fit into society in the future.

    Chances are you would be out of a job and never get a good referal, ever, in the future.

    Maybe that is your problem now? Out of work and can't get a good referal.

  11. What happened to character matters in the Republican party? I guess it was a popular idea during Bill Clinton, but it's to be thrown out for Billy Long? You want to question the society I want to live in all because I don't feel Billy Long is best prepared to fight for our great Republic? I feel sorry for you if that's the best argument you have.

    Character does matter to me, and so does leadership. So I will remind you of Billy Long's gambling denials earlier during the primary and then let's recall the republican party's rallying cry against Clinton, character matters.

    I just returned today from a week in Washington, D.C. and it was fabulous. One of the groups I met with is 100 percent anti-gambling and they had agreed to endorse me months ago until another of the candidates started a "Whisper Campaign" against me concerning gambling and then they backed off. When I met with them again this week and leveled with them concerning everything and all of these wildly exaggerated claims their executive director said he thinks he "smells a rat." He's going to run my name up the flag pole again and tell his state people that he again wants to endorse me and if he gets push back from one or two certain people then his suspicions will be confirmed and I will indeed get their endorsement.


    That's how low they've sunk already in this race. If you analyze it they didn't lie - they never said I was a Professional gambler and that's how I've made my living - they just ask "well if you knew..."

    10 months ago a staunch anti gambling area resident said he wanted to support me but had heard I hosted "High Stakes Poker Games" in my home on a regular basis. I said "do you want me to lie to you or do you want the truth?" He opted for the truth so I said "well the truth is the last time I hosted any poker game in my house or anywhere else was OVER THIRTY YEARS AGO WHEN I LIVED AT HOME and Dad and I would have some friends over every week or two for a 25 cent - 50 cent poker game.

    played zero poker for thirty years and about three years ago I started playing occasionally in friendly poker games in two friends homes. Their Wives would fix something to eat and we'd play cards. I was never embarrassed or ashamed of this but when I started running for office I just thought it would be better not to play anymore.

    On a fishing trip to Louisiana a year ago January they were holding a nationally televised poker tournament at a hotel in Mississippi which was on my way to my buddies house. I paid $265 to enter a small tournament and won a $1,000 token (no cash value) to play in another tournament where I won a $10,000 token (no cash value) to play in the main event. I played in that the next day and lost - collected no money and went on to my buddies place for the deep sea fishing. So my $265 dollars bought me a lot of fun and entertainment butting heads with some Pro Players. However when the story is told "Billy paid $10,000 CASH to support his out of control gambling habit". I told the blogger in person exactly how it works but he swears I'm lying - I could tell him the Sun was coming up in the east tomorrow and he'd swear I was lying.


    So Long lied about gambling, and the first thing he does after winning the primary is go to Las Vegas, in which he was seen on an airplane by a key Greene County Democrat without family. Then they keep lying about these debates, using the Vegas vacation as a reason Long hadn't responded about the debates--which makes the vacation fair game. Then they title it a family vacation, when more and more people are coming forward, even Long supporters telling me Long's family stayed at home while Billy was in Vegas.

    Character does matter and I want to know I can trust my Congressman at this time in our country's history.

  13. Billy told us he didn't want to raise his daughters in Washington, DC. Is Sin City is a healthier environment in Billy's mind?
