Objective: Defeat Democrat
As I sat at Cox Hospital last evening listening to each of the candidates for Missouri's 7th Congressional District Republican primary, It became obviously clear to me that the candidates were openly agreeing too much. I asked myself a question I'm sure you have asked yourself. It wasn't the first time I have asked myself this question and it definitley won't be the last. It is a question that each candidate in every race tries to answer for the voters.
This single question could change the entire race: "What makes you the best candidate for this specific position?"
I have the answer that any candidate can use in any race, anywhere, anytime. The answer is: We all have mostly the same views of the issues: lower taxes, strong military, less government, etc. But, I am the best candidate because I have the best chance to defeat the Democrat in the general election. Whether it be because this specific candidate has the experience in politics or because he or she is new to politics and can therefore not be blamed for previous Republican decisions.
Removing the liberal regime running the country right now is the most important objective. If one, just one, candidate would proclaim this simple slogan and clearly explain why, it would show that they are above the rest.
Unfortunately at the forum, none of the candidates mentioned this answer. This is an open letter to each of the candidates reccomending that you who has the best chance of defeating the Democrat in November, come forth! Comment and explain why you are the best candidate.

Jacob,
ReplyDeleteYour major objective starts by electing the best prepared person to send to Congress from the 7th District who can work within the new Congress to make the changes you and I both want.
The voters around the country are responsible for their Representatives and all indications are that the 'liberal regime' will be changed in 2010 in the House of Representatives and the most liberal POTUS will be removed in 2012.
The liberal agenda will be stopped effectively when the new Congress takes the Oath of Office in January 2011.
This campaign is between four of the filed candidates. Common sense among the voters indicates that only two of the candidates have the maturity, background and skills to go to Wahington and be a strong voice for what we need to get America back on the right track. Those two are Mr. Moore and Mr. Nodler.
The others are good people but this is not the roolie league. The game is the most serious it has been in our lifetime including what the greatest generation fought for in WWII.
The Best Political Minds Joined Together in 1787
ReplyDeleteThe 55 delegates who attended the Constitutional Convention were an experienced body of delegates who represented a cross section of 18th-century American leadership. Most were well-educated men of means who were dominant in their communities and states, and many were also prominent in national affairs. Nearly every one had taken part in the Revolution; at least 29 had served in the Continental forces, most of them in positions of command.
The group had extensive political experience as 41 individuals had been members of the Continental Congress. Three had served as president of the body and only 14 lacked congressional experience; eight had signed the Declaration of Independence; six had signed the Articles of Confederation with two having signed all three of the nation’s basic documents. Practically all of the 55 delegates had experience in colonial and state government with eight having been governors and the majority had held county and local offices.
I believe we need Gary Nodler's experience in Congress.
Ok Gary. Stop putting up comments about yourself.
