Missouri Right to Life Officially Gambles on Billy Long with Pro-Life Endorsement
In a few minutes, the Missouri Right to Life PAC will begin the parade across Southwest Missouri with Billy Long on one arm. They will officially announce at a press conference in Joplin Billy Long is their candidate to represent pro-life values.
With no voting record and nothing but a radio program and a few sound bites, MRL will gamble on Billy Long to make the right choices to protect life in the nation's Capital. One has to wonder if they will gamble with Billy downstream as well, a familiar stop on Long's Joplin campaign trips.
With no real clue how the MRL drew the conclusion that Billy is a pro-life champion, other than Billy's money, which Dave Plemmon's points out in a comment on Long Is Wrong, many of us are left scratching our heads--especially after my conversation with Democrat Tim Davis last night.
While Billy Long is great at making a sound bite--including many in the pro-life arena--there are few actions. On the other hand, Democrat Tim Davis shared with me how he addressed a Joplin Women's Democrat group couragously calling for the repeal of Roe V. Wade. I ask you what is greater courage--Billy Long on a commercial claiming to be pro-life, or Tim Davis going against one of the Democrat's party platforms of choice in front of a group of women calling for the repeal of Roe V. Wade while Scott Eckersley throws thousands of his own money into his campaign in hopes of beating Davis.
Between Long and Davis, it appears to me it's clear who the pro-life champion is out of these two. It's clearly the Democrat in this case.

It will be interesting to watch how the Joplin Globe reports the story.
ReplyDeleteAnd, how the News-Leader, without any political investigative reporter, reports the story.
Mr. Plemmons in his prepared (by someone else) remarks at the news conference failed to mention that Mr. Long, it appears and has been alleged, received money from people who financially supported Amendement 2, on the ballot two years past.
ReplyDeleteMRL should do the appropriate research and suggest Mr. Long return the money to keep their story pure and unblemished.
I just figured out what Billy's biggest problem is. It's Billy.
