Goodman Launches Multi-Media Advertising Campaign
The Jack Goodman campaign sent an interesting email yesterday. Among the 10 paragraphs, Goodman announces an "aggressive multi-media advertising campaign." Here it is in its entirety:
"Dear Jacob,
Since we started this campaign last year, our nation has gone another trillion dollars deeper in debt! We currently owe China, Japan, and investors worldwide (not to mention our children, grandchildren and future generations) more than $13 trillion.
According to the Obama Administration's own budget, we will owe more than $20 trillion within the next 10 years.
It is obvious to most of us in the real world that our nation is being led down an unsustainable course and we must stop the reckless spending now! Last year, I called for strict measures on fiscal restraint. The most basic and obvious things we can do, to any of us who have to balance our own checkbooks or make payroll, are to control spending and balance the budget. If we don't get spending under control it will become a serious threat to our democracy, national security and American way of life.
Nancy Pelosi and her majority in Congress want us to believe that increasing taxes or implementing a new "value added" tax will solve our problems. Tax increases and bigger government are not the solution, especially now, when we need to be creating jobs--not punishing employers or consumers. Employers cannot add money to payroll and create new jobs if the government is taking away the earnings that would be spent on additional payroll.
I need your help to fire Nancy Pelosi and stop the radical agenda in Washington, D.C., that is taking our government even farther away from the people. The greatness of America is her people. America was founded as the only nation in the where the people select representatives to place the people's values into the laws we expect each other to live by. We cannot allow the current leaders to succeed in their efforts to remake America into a nation like all the others, where an elite ruling class imposes its will upon their subjects.
Laura and I are willing to uproot our lives to fight this battle, but we cannot get there alone. We are working hard to win -- I have personally been at more than 370 campaign events so far, but we still need your help.
We need you to be one of 100 people to go to our website, www.jackgoodman.org and help us by contributing $10 or more to our campaign to help save America.
Months ago, we surpassed fundraising goals for the operation and overhead of this campaign. Every dollar raised now will be used to spread our message through an aggressive multi-media advertising campaign.
Our campaign has a full head of steam and continues to gain momentum toward victory. Over 1,500 volunteers are helping us spread our message across the 7th Congressional District.
I very sincerely appreciate all the friends and supporters who continue to help us day after day as we approach the August 3 election."
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The internet has already had an immense impact on this primary. Goes to show how a good internet presence helps candidates (or in some cases hurts candidates), in a heated Congressional primary. If this email fundraising takes hold and Goodman is able to launch a successful advertising campaign, it could change the results.
