YouCut Program Week Three

This is a really neat program that Republican WHIP Eric Cantor says "is designed to defeat the permissive culture of runaway spending in Congress." The program allows you to vote each week for a proposal that will be heard on the House floor.

Last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann proposed the winning spending cut: an amendment to eliminate a pay raise for federal government employees that would save the taxpayer over $30 billion. Of course, the majority gaveled it down from the Speaker's chair, shutting down debate.

The up-or-down vote was clear and the majority voted to allow pay raises for all non military federal employees, while everyday Americans are facing 10% unemployment.
