Obama to Vacation Over Memorial Weekend

Barack Obama is breaking a tradition that presidents have observed for many years. He will not speak or observe Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery. Instead, he is vacationing to Chicago where he will speak at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Vice President Joe Biden will fill in for his boss on Memorial Day. The Bidens will place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and will hold a breakfast for families of slain heroes.

President Obama has more important things to do than observe and respect the true heroes of this country. He doesn't have time to thank veterans or their families. What's really important in his mind is not breaking another campaign promise. He vowed to return to Chicago, his hometown, at least every 6 weeks. It has now been 16 months since he has taken office and he has returned only once. So don't blame him, aren't campaigning and vacationing more important than honoring our fallen men and women of the best military in history?
