More Angry Voters Speak Up Over Billy Long's Campaign Presence at Drew Brees Charity Event

There is more fallout today over Billy Long's decision to turn a positive charitable event in Springfield into a campaign stop for his Congressional bid. Last night, Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints was in Springfield to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. Billy Long tried to take attention away from Breeze and turn it upon his campaign. People are mad. In fact, out of all the incredibly stupid things Billy Long has done on the campaign trail, this is drawing some of the sharpest criticism.

We already know from multiple sources Billy Long brought an entourage of campaign volunteers to the event to pass out stickers for people to wear. Now it has come out, Billy Long tried to post a large banner at the event for people to see as they walked into this high-profile charitable event. This was neither the time or place to politic, and Billy Long broke a long-standing rule about keeping politics out of certain places. This isn't the first time Billy Long has handed out these stickers at inappropriate places either.

From what I am hearing, to put it bluntly, the board members who organized this even are mad as can be that Billy tried to turn this into his own event for self-political gain.

This is consistent about why Billy Long is in the race. He is in this race for self-serving purposes. Only a man with self-serving interests would attempt to use a positive charity event to draw attention to his own needs. I think it's becoming more apparent, Billy Long is in this race to ensure his own legacy in Robert Byrd fashion.
