Is Gary Nodler for Congress The Career Politician or the Tea Party Candidate?

Gary Nodler made no mistaking who he was last night at the Stone County candidate forum. Nodler stood up for the career politician just a few weeks after he tried to sell himself as a tea party candidate in the documentary Don’t Tread on Me, where Nodler speaks of his efforts to preserve states’ rights. I am confused Senator Nodler? Are you a career politician or a tea party candidate?

During his speech, Nodler compared himself to Abraham Lincoln, not really the “don’t tread on me” president. How can you call yourself a states’ rights champion and identify yourself with Lincoln? Lincoln trampled all over states’ rights for his desire to keep the union together. He never cared about the slavery issue. He only freed the slaves for his own political legacy to cover up the horrible crimes he committed against states’ and personal rights.

Let’s see Senator Nodler, Lincoln arrested his political enemies in Baltimore and held them while denying their Habeas Corpus rights. He also shut down newspapers despite the First Amendment during the Civil War. Most importantly he is responsible for the deaths of nearly a million Americans with his decision to challenge the Southern states that left the union using states rights for justification. Lincoln was no saint when it came to Constitutional government. This makes you ask questions about Nodler’s own personal beliefs. Is he a career politician or a tea party candidate? I guess Nodler is whoever he wants to be depending on who he speaks to.
