Hot Shot (Hotshot) Condoms for 12-14 Year Old Boys

The sexualization of children continues. A company in Europe is now selling the Hot Shot condom, which is an extra small sized condom developed for young boys. Have people lost their minds? The condom will be sold in Switzerland. This only encourages the problem and 12-14 year old children have no clue of the depth of the actions this company is promoting.

"The result that shocked us concerned young boys who display apparently risky behaviour," said Nancy Bodmer, who oversaw the research for the study at the Center for Development and Personality Psychology at Basel University in Switzerland.

"They have more of a tendency not to protect themselves," she said, adding that because of their young age, they also do not know much about sexuality.

"They do not understand the consequences of what they are doing," Bodmer said. "The results of this study suggest that early prevention makes sense."

How about education about the consequences and some lessons in morality? Oh, that's right. There's no big profits in abstinence.

It’s really sad how marketing departments for these companies look at children as dollar signs. Furthermore, what parent goes out and buys the Hot Shot condom for their 12 year old? It’s just wrong. They should be playing Mario Cart on the Wii, not playing doctor with their bedroom door closed.

  1. And what 14 year old doesn't want to think of himself as extra small?

  2. This was inevitable. The link between sex and procreation is dissolving. Sex is primarily a recreational pursuit now. Pedophilia and Polygamy are almost certainly the next things to gain widespread acceptance.

BTW, why are they drawing the line at 12? What are the sexually active 9 year-olds supposed to do?

  4. While on paper it does make logical sense to have condoms for younger boys - to stop unwanted pregnancy and the spread of disease - the very idea of it is SO wrong. Parents everywhere must be shaking their heads in horror at the thought encouraging kids in this way and legitimising under-aged sex.

For these and many other reasons, condoms for kids are NOT a good move:

  5. Finally a good idea. If I had kids I would make sure I have some of those condoms in house. There is no reason to deny that boys this age have sex, and better safe then sorry. Remember that Alfie kid in the UK?

  6. keep in mind that condoms do not always work so you could become a young papa and pay child support like everyone else.

  7. Where there is a market, a business will come to be. Sad as it is, at least the kids will be safe. That is the ones that actually buy these condoms.

  8. Children are no longer innocent : we can't turn the clock back. Available suitably-sized condoms won't spur more sex - they will just protect the health of the increasing numbers who are having sex.

  9. if a young person trys to have sex and the condom is to big they will do it unsafe but if theres small ones to fit them they will use them instad of no condom

  11. I'm a 12 year old girl, and that's ridiculous. i haven't heard of anyone that's 12 or 13 having that kind of relationship with each other. Sure some 8th graders from my school were sexually active, but it's not alright to be incourging this. Parents if you're worried about it, sit down with you son or daughter and ask them if they are active in that way. If your a father ask your son or if your a mother ask your daughter, better safe then sorry. I know I'm not and don't intend to be for years to come. So just ask your child.

  12. I'm thirteen. And that is just insane, now I can't deny the fact that there are some girls I know who have or are pregnant, but this is insane. When kids reach jr high they become more sexually involved with the other sex, but that doesn't mean people can just go around making condoms for children. I know some relationships I have been in where my boyfriend tried that on me. But I'm not stupid, and neither are these children. They do it because the condom was intended for them, and at the time it seems like a harmless thing to do, but in the grand scheme of life it's a big deal.
Parents who read this comment do yourself and your child a favour and talk to your kids about sex at a young age. You will benefit from it, I promise you that. I know my mom, and she would encourage me to do the same with my children when I'm of that age.

  14. I don't think these condoms are about promoting one value or eroding another, they're simply addressing a hard and unpleasant reality. I think people who are outraged by the condoms are directing their anger at the easiest target -- at the company making them -- when they should really be angry with society as a whole for creating the situation in which these condoms are even needed.

There's never going to be any guarantee that children will be celibate, even if parents try their hardest to talk to them about sex and encourage them to wait 'til they're older. It's the same with anything -- sex, drugs, and risky behaviors in general. That is the real reason these condoms exist -- to make a risky behavior safer, if the child will insist on undertaking it despite all warnings.

  15. Ha I'm 13 and I am not a virgin and my voice has allready boken and I know best how us boys feel at my age.... All we ever talk about is sex and p0rN and I think it is a good idea that they have done this and this will indeed mean safe sex..... By the way I need a small-large sised condom as I am 7" :)

  16. To be moral, any action that prevents an unwanted pregnancy or the death of a child by a STD like AIDS is a no-brainer.....congratulations for developing these condoms and PLEASE sell them overseas as well....we small men in India need these tighter condoms....

  17. Well, 9 to 12 year old children are going to be gambling and taking heroin, whether we like it or not! there's nothing we can do about it, so lets just give them money, and make 'needles for kids'.

  18. bottom line is, ppl of all different ages have sex whether you like it or not so accept it and do ur best to educate. stop running from the truth. young people have always had sex and always will. theres no fighting that so you may as well educate them.

  19. Let's not put child locks on guns, because children aren't supposed to use guns anyway.

  21. Im 12 and i think that was enevitably gonna happen anyway, some company were going to do it just for money. Yes its stupid but if early teens are having sex ( which they are , you cant deniey it !) then it is a gap in the market. To be honest your child cant get one ( unless u live in swiszerland) cos if they oder one online ect then it will come to your house and you will see it as a parent. But , if i were a parent i would prob buy 1 and 1 ONLY for them to keep in thr back pocket or whatever JUST INCASE not to encourage them , but if its gonna happen then we/they might as well be protected .

    1. I think you need to worry more about your education than what you use a condom for.

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
