Debra Medina is Right: People Do Have the Right to Question the Government
In one interview Glenn Beck proved to me the tears he cries for liberty and freedom are fake. Beck is a DeceptiCon.
I have been reading Debra Media’s response to the controversial interview, which Beck attempted to tie Medina to the 9/11 truth movement. Here’s her response:
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.
The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.
The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.
Medina is right. We have a right and a responsibility to question our government. At times when I have looked at pictures of the Pentagon torn apart by one of the hijacked planes, I have even asked, with my experience on MS Flight Simulator, how did the hijackers with such little experience of flying airplanes successfully pull off the hit on the Pentagon. These big jets require skills to fly.
While many claim Beck’s interview with Medina was revealing, it was revealing for the reason’s no one is willing to talk about. Is Beck really a conservative? Does he really support the freedoms he claims he enjoys? I have my doubts. I as angry when Beck began pushing the VAT tax, but the way he attacked an American with a grasp of the Constitution running for office against a career politician like Rick Perry concerns me. I have lost any respect I ever had for Glenn Beck. Go ahead and laugh Mr. Beck. I am not laughing with you Mr. Beck. The mask is off your deceptive tears.

Bill,
ReplyDeletePlease let me be the first to extend a hand of agreement. Beck has gone too far. He believes his own hype. He ambushed Medina.
Glenn Beck does not, nor has he ever, and nor will he ever, speak for me. If he speaks for you, for any of you that may read this, then you are just another sheep who has abdicated your ability to think for yourself.
Long Live the Republic.
And to add the cherry to the top of this sundae: Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, Malkin, etc- none of these people speak for me. They have their opinions and a much bigger microphone, but that doesn't mean they are me.
We should questin our government, but we also need to question the people who are attempting to run it as well. She has surrounded herself with people who have some ideas that are outside of the mainstream.
ReplyDeleteI don't know very much about Perry, I have read glowing reports about him and not very good reports as well.
Paul supporters (who make up a good portion of her staff) have some beliefs that are outside of the mainstream. Not always a bad thing, but some people are made uncomfortable by them.
Beck supports Palin. Palin supports Perry.
ReplyDeleteTheory or possible truth?
I have called out Palin on supporting Perry knowing there is a true tea party candidate. Medina is standing up for Texas rights, including ensuring the NAFTA Highway doesn't come through Texas. Perry supports the highway.
