Cash for Clunkers is Dead: Rationing Has Begun With Cars and You Are Next

Yesterday, I heard the local news interview a local car dealership. They were worried that the cash for Cash for Clunkers was drying up too quickly (less than a week), and they hoped Congress would extend it. The program was to run into November, but like everything else the government does, the government can't keep up with the demand. Consider this with healthcare.

Just this year the government subsidized free HD converter boxes. They ran out of money making people angry. Now they are doing the same with Cash for Clunkers. Congress is worried at the pace cars are selling, the program will top well over $1 billion in costs to taxpayers. They have now suspended the program as dealers were facing a backlog.

Now I ask you what happens when Obamacare begins to go over it's allotted budget? No healthcare for you! Better look at these examples and how the government works.

This time next month, Obama will claim he saved the car industry as both GM and Chrysler sales were up. Cash For Clunkers will be a few weeks dead, and Obama will get away with it until sales fall again. This program should have never been, and it obviously wasn't planned very well to begin with. They need to read the healthcare overhaul before pushing their changes on the nation. It's obvious our Congress is wishy washy, and this is the perfect example.

Barney Frank Explains the Ultimate End Game of Obamacare: Break Down the System Until It's Under Total Government Control

It what looks like an impromptu interview, Barney Frank admits the end goal of Obamacare is total government takeover the healthcare system through a progression in which Congress maintains the system for a short period of time to provide the illusion it works. Then once people relax, according to Frank, they will push a single-payer totally run government healthcare system. Opponents of Obama have claimed this is the real goal, and it will happen through a number of ways including luring employers to end their coverage by providing a cheaper rate of taxation compared to the current costs of benefits.

Once they convince enough employers and bankrupt the private insurance industry, they will then raise the taxes on employers to cover the costs of the expanded role. This is an evil plan with lots of masks covering the intentions of Democrats like Barney Frank and Barack Obama.

As The Obama Beer Kegger Drags On....

It's crazy watching the build up to the White House beer drinking that will commence in a few minutes. This may be the most disgraceful moment in White House history--even more disgraceful than the Clinton blow job. The media is about to go wild over three men coming together to drink beer.

We can only imagine what will happen if this thing drags on and gets a little out of control. "Obama's voice starts to slur, well, did I happen to ever tell you I was born in Kenya. Ha Ha. It's true." the drunken commander and chief carries on.

"Hey Ed, bring that football over and let's see what that red button does."

"That Hillary Clinton looks like a pumpkin with thoughs thighs and that orange pant suit."

"Let's call my buddy Jeremiah up and see what he has to say about all this."

Yes, in about two minutes we get to see if Obama can handle his liquor. This is so embarrassing--anything to get minds off Obama's falling approval numbers and his unpopular healthcare plan.

The Obama Keg Party Has Become a Corporate Dream and a Racial Discussion Nightmare

It will be interesting to watch the next generation of beer commercials. Gone will be the cute animals like Spuds McKenzie or the Budweiser frogs. The corporations who won an invitation to Obama's White House Bier Garden will have fun at the president's expense. Can't you see now Obama's teleprompter being trained to grab a Bud Light? "Wassup!" It reads. (Maybe the next Bud Bowl will have the secret weapon--the teleprompter with the opposing team's play book.)

Obama's racial blunder has not turned into a 5:00 somewhere photo opportunity. Obama appears to have counted on the circus atmosphere and the obsession of the press corp to erase the fact he cited the actions of a white cop towards a black professor as stupid. There will be nothing positive to come out of this with the exception Obama saved his own butt once again from the lessons he learned in Jeremiah Wright's church.

Those of us who understand Obama and his words, know he personally has a divide in his own psyche between black and white. It's why he quickly rushed to judgement to call the cops actions stupid. It's why he called his own grandmother a typical white person. It's why he talks so candidly in his own book Dream of My Father. For Obama, racism in America is real, and he has taken a side that divides--the wrong side to be on for someone who leads this country.

This is a great opportunity for beer marketing. This will do little to improve race relations in the country.

I Hope Nancy Pelosi's Insurance Policies Are Canceled:

According to Rush Limbaugh, Congress has 17 different choices for health coverage. They are looking to eventually give everyone else in the United States one.

Today, the furry of Nancy Pelosi was on display as she attacked insurance companies directly calling them villains.

"It's almost immoral what they are doing," Pelosi said. "Of course they've been immoral all along in how they have treated the people that they insure," she said, adding, "They are the villains. They have been part of the problem in a major way. They are doing everything in their power to stop a public option from happening."

Considering she believes insurance companies are immoral, you think she would be friends with the industry. Birds of a feather usually flock together, but of course, insurance companies are set up to make profits like any other business. That's what Democrats in Congress call immoral these days as they overlook their own actions, which aren't exactly saintly.

I think it would be wonderful poetic justice if when Pelosi gets home for August break, all of her insurance coverages are canceled. I would love it even more if the Geico lizard himself personally delivered the cancellations. This Speaker of the House isn't smarter than a caveman.

Religious Group Protests Obama's Racial Ease Keg Party

Roe Conn of Chicago's WLS-AM reports that a religious group is protesting Obama's decision to drink beer with the Cambridge police officer and the arrested professor. They will meet in a few short hours, which has produced news giving details to exactly who is drinking what.

The group protesting worries Obama drinking a beer will encourage teenage drinking. I think they are looking at this all wrong. If teens realized the amount of debt Obama is going to leave for them, the country's youth would have harder livers than a bunch of Russians after a spilt rail car full of vodka on the Trans Siberian Railroad.

The group protesting says they should be drinking lemonade and not promoting drinking. While I think this may be a little extreme knowing there are far better things to point out about Obama and protest, it continues to show Obama upsets people everywhere he goes.

Instead of beer, can a group point out that with the presidency comes great responsibility. Calling a white cop stupid over a black man's arrest is careless. Obama could have sparked the next race wars. I really don't think Bud Light, Red Stripe and Blue Moon is all that important in all of this.

Bungalow Bill's Month in Review: July 2009

This year is flying by, and its producing plenty of liberals worthy of Bungalow Bill's Wacky Liberal of the Year. Figuring out who made the list is just around the corner. There were plenty of entries in July.

Here are the top stories on BBCW in July.

1. Lance Armstrong finished third in his comeback Tour de France. In raising cancer awareness, Armstrong is still the champ. The Lance Armstrong Nike Tour De France video was quite popular.

2. Carla Bruni's decision not to offer Barack Obama the tradition kiss still provides lots of talk.

3. America is waking up and Obama is falling out of favor quickly. July was full of town hall meetings hosted by Representatives and Senators that attracted plenty of protest against Obama and his policies. There's one thing that's not going away either. That's the birth certificate as Mike Castle found out at his own town hall meeting.

4. As more details come out about Obamacare, one thing is certain. The government is going to have a lot of control over your healthcare decisions. Obama includes end of life counseling. Considering it may push hospice and Social Security is broke, the writing is on the wall.

5. People are concerned by the damage Obama is doing to this country, and they worry presidential term limits may be repealed. HJ Resolution 5 is an attempt to do just that.

6. Interest in guns and ammo hasn't faded. Hi Point 9mms are a great way to enjoy the Second Amendment and continues to draw readers.

7. When Obama sees his poll numbers go down, he heads to the town hall meeting to campaign. This brings out a cast of idiots from Julio Oseguedo to trans fat woman. With Debby Smith, it appears many of these cast of characters are set up by Obama himself to create confusion and avoid the real issues.

8. NASA is going to bomb the moon on October 9, 2009.

9. If cap and trade passes, another entitlement program will begin...energy stamps.

10. Obama past himself as one of us as he attacked John McCain for his wealth. Now the election is over, Obama continues to show his wealth by spending lots of money on brand names.

Perverts Put Out: Pornography Paid For By Obama's Stimulus Plan

More details are coming out about what is getting stimulated with Obama's stimulus plan. This time, it's material of an adult nature according to In A Handbasket.

The National Endowment of the Arts received $80 million of your tax dollars in hope art would stimulate the economy. However, it appears only certain body parts are being stimulated.

The Frameline Film House received stimulus money. Each week they show an "art oriented" sexually charged film. In A Handbasket calls the film not just disturbing but downright disgusting.

In San Francisco, CounterPULSE received stimulus money. They are responsible for a production called "Perverts Put Out." Here's what the Perverts Put Out Web site says about the production:

Perverts Put Out!, San Francisco's long-running pansexual performance series, has featured stellar line-ups of truly twisted, mega-talented artistes...and even an occasional naked mayoral candidate.

So now US tax dollars are going to promote immorality, which means Americans basically elected Caligula and his perverted court to run the country. I don't have to tell you that CounterPulse, the Frameline Film House, and the National Endowments of the Arts do little to promote the economy. They are only vehicles that promote liberalism and immorality.

Remember Obama promised responsibility when he begged Americans to support the stimulus bill. I guess we can add this to the list of Obama lies. Oh, that is until we eventually find out that stimulus funds provided condoms for these events.

The Question I Will Ponder This Weekend: Michael Moore's Fat Ass and Obamacare

Michale Moore is not just a poster child for insane liberalism, he is also the poster child with a target on his fat ass for the coming Democrat taxes for healthcare. It's obvious, Moore hasn't lived a healthy life as he looks fatter with each movie.

His new movie, "Capitalism: A Love Story", shows a bloated Moore with at least another 50 pounds gained from going on late-night binges with Morgan Spurlock at the local McDonald's. It's obvious Moore drives to meet Spurlock (who walks) for Double Quarter-Pounders, Supersized with a triple thick chocolate shake.

The question I will ponder this week is weather or not Moore with his crazy, anti-America movies that get Pelosi panting like a dog in heat will be given tax exempt status with the coming sin taxes soon to occur at the golden arches by Democrats in Congress. Could there be a Michael Moore fast food exemption clause in the coming healthcare taxes? Second question: when Michael Moore's heart finally gives out and needs help, will he be pushed to the first of the healthcare line since his movies reflect the views of the current White House occupant?

US Government Sponsored Eugenics in Obamacare: Planned Parenthood and Abortions Benefit With Obamacare While Seniors Are Denied Care

Does anyone else find the irony in Obama pushing a healthcare program that will put millions into an organization founded in hopes of killing the black race? That's right, under Obamacare, Americans will pay for abortions which means Planned Parenthood will receive millions more of your tax dollars to vacuum suck babies clinging onto the womb into non-existence.

A new commercial sponsored by the Family Research Council puts it in perspective. Seniors will be rejected for care, but young women everywhere will be encouraged by a government bureaucrat to get in the abortion line--the government hates useless eaters under Obama's plans.

When you look at the history of Planned Parenthood, you have to ask if Obama and the rest of the black Democrats in Congress as well as across the country supporting Obamacare really that ignorant. I say yes. Planned Parenthood was founded by a eugenicist--Margaret Sanger. Sanger believed abortion was a good way to kill the black race. Now we have a black president pushing Planned Parenthood, just in case little Sasha and Malia make a mistake in life.

There is so much dishonesty in the black political world! You can be called just short of a racist when a white cop arrests a black man in this country--even in Obama's eyes--yet they continue to sponsor an organization (Planned Parenthood) whose roots are as evil as the Ku Klux Klan.

The IRS Treats You Bad, The Post Office Humiliates You, Why Would You Want Any Government Providing You Healthcare?

My mood instantly sours when I have to deal with the government. I learned early in the United States Army what the government is. It's a slow moving slug that consists of segments of people who don't worry about losing their government jobs, so they don't care how they treat you.

Just look at the faces of people the next time you have to go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles. Yes, I understand this isn't a federal entity, but it's the perfect example of government. The only person you see excited at the DMV is the 16 year old who is entering this yearly parade of pay to drive at the DMV. There is no efficiency at the DMV, and frustration shows on everyones' face except for the government worker who ignored the big line to take the unauthorized coffee break.

I know you have seen this at the post office as well. If you want to see the difference between how much better the competitive market place is, walk into a Federal Express or UPS shipping office and then walk into the United States Post Office. At Fed Ex or UPS, they are staffed to get you through quickly and on with your day. You feel appreciated as they don't make you feel stupid for not taping your box correctly. They just tape it.

At the Post Office they make a scene if the box isn't taped up to their liking, especially if you aren't using an upgraded service. As they are making the scene in front of the line where people wait for half-an-hour, an endless stream of postal workers who you have seen work the windows in the past look at the crowd but never man a window. I do my best to stay away from a United States Post Office.

If you think that's bad, wait until this April when millions of Americans find out Obama didn't actually give them the tax cut he boasts of, and they owe the IRS. They will find one of the most miserable, unfriendly people on the planet--all working for the United States government. I know. I have been there.

It's their job not to answer your questions--at least ones that are to your benefit. They are in the business to take from you and benefit the government from their efforts.

Then you look at other programs which offer entitlements like Social Security and Medicare. These are programs which during their time of debate featured a similar round of debate pitting a the argument for more government power against that of the limits Constitution provides. Now we are told these programs will soon be bankrupt, as a minority of Americans want government to take further care of them. Luckily a majority of Americans are waking up seeing what is happening with Obamacare.

There is just one thing I am wondering, with such a bad track record of running things--a record that obviously lowers the mood of a majority of Americans when they must deal with most government entities--why would anyone even consider Obamacare a good thing. You wouldn't allow a doctor with a history of killing people during operations to operate on yourself, so why would you want the government to run the healthcare considering they have killed nearly everything they ever touch?

As Millions of Americans Receive Government Subsidized HD Converter Boxes, Iowa Woman Throws Out Her TV Thanks to Obama

If Rasmussen calls Deloris Nissen of Audubon, Iowa, they are likely to get an earful about Obama. The 78-year-old woman is so sick of Obama, she's ridding herself of her televisions sets.

She placed an ad in the local Daily Times Herald for the TVs. She listed her reason for selling them: "Obama on every channel and station."

Nissen says she keeps her remote in hand prepared to change the channel when Obama comes on. Just one problem, he's on the other channels too. She decided the solution is just to get rid of the sets.

For Ms. Nissen's sake, this story will probably move her up to the front of the line to be denied for Obamacare, so I recommend she invest the money so that when she needs healthcare, she can afford to fly to India for her treatment.

The Contradiction of Obama's Pro-Black Family Comments

This is another great video posted on MAInfo. This video looks at Obama's positive comments towards black families and then shows his contradictions in his words and actions against black families. It goes into a blog I wrote before the election citing that Obama's support of Planned Parenthood shows his ignorance in the history and racial ties of abortion in the United States.

Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist eugenicist named Margaret Sanger. She thought the black race could be exterminated through abortions. Just ponder that a little bit as Obama says he's happy Planned Parenthood and abortion is available for Malia and Sasha in case they make a mistake.

Nothing cools the flames of racism like an ice cold beer. It worked for Jesse Jackson, and tonight Obama is giving it a try. It's keg night at the White House, and tax payers are paying for Obama's racial remarks.

In case you don't know, the Reverend Jesse Jackson's family owns an Anheuser Busch distributorship in Chicago (one of the reasons I switched to Lite Beer from Miller and then Shiner Bock after I moved the Chicago). The story of how an black Baptist preacher from Chicago acquired a beer distributorship sounds like a violation of doctrine, but when Jesse Jackson is involved, just know there was a compromise of the people he claims to represent in exchange for the almighty dollar.

When Anheuser Busch began promoting their King Cobra malt liquor product and other products in the neighborhoods Jackson fought for, he saw the results these products had on their community from skipping work to getting drunk to domestic violence. Jackson began to campaigning to get the ads taken down in black neighborhoods through threats to companies like Anheuser Busch.

Anheuser Busch made Jackson a sweet deal to get him to go away. They offered him a distributorship for him to remain silent. Since Jackson is about the money and not the people, according to Mancow, Jackson took the offer.

So why should we expect Obama to do the right thing? He didn't apologize over his rush to judgement and racially motivated comments against a white cop arrest of a black professor. Obama has a deep-seated hatred of white people. Now Obama exchanges beer for real racial healing. It's apparently all they have.

Let's highlight Obama's life since January. He's thrown huge parties with Hollywood and Music's elite. He eats $100 a pound Wagyu beef. He's been to Europe more than once. He's left the country more four times. He's spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to go on a date in New York City while catching a Broadway play. He is constantly seen on the golf course as the casualty rates in Afghanistan rises. He flew to St. Louis to catch a baseball game. He has thrown a Luau. Does this sound like a man who needs a vacation?

Mr. Hart, Americans are suffering because the policies of our government have forced countries overseas. Unemployment continues to rise to high levels under Obama. The housing scandal caused by policies of the Democratic party has costs Americans thousands of dollars as the values of their homes shrunk. Americans retirement accounts have shrunk as government mismanagement and secrecy drove the markets down. If anyone needs a vacation it's the American people from the controlling hand of the government. I suggest Obama stay in the house he told the American people he wanted to live in rather than continuing to flaunt his glitzy image while Americans continue to suffer. Obama doesn't need a vacation.

It's Official: Congressman Mike Ross Wavered on Obamacare

To the good people of Arkansas, it seems your Congressman in the 4th district, Representative Mike Ross thinks the government should have greater power over your ability to determine and receive healthcare. Thanks to Congressman Ross wavering under the demands of Barack Obama (remember your state was red), Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, senior citizens in this country will soon face rationing.

You will soon be forced into government sponsored healthcare whether you like it or not. At first this may not be the case. It may be cheaper for your employer to continue providing your healthcare benefits, but eventually the statists in our government who wish to take the power of your state provided through the 10th Amendment and give it to the federal government will come up with a way that makes it advantageous for your employer to drop their care giving the government more control.

Why would the federal government want control over the health care system? Well, let's start with the fact that Social Security is broken. The longer you live, the more strain it puts on the system. Give the government the ability to deny seniors care and provide a hospice services for them to go and die, and you start to relax the strain on Social Security.

Congressman Ross and his wife will never face this reality. In fact, his party voted against the mandatory provision that would make Congressmen and Senators take the same healthcare system that Congressman Ross once fought against but apparently was bought off in order to change his vote. If it's not good enough for Congressman Ross and the rest of the Congress, why would it be good enough for you?

I hope the people of Arkansas's 4th Congressional District understand the seriousness of Congressman Ross's change in stance on healthcare. One day in the near future, when a government bureaucrat tells you your life isn't important enough to provide care to in order that you may life another five years, your remember what Congressman Ross did on this very day.

I hope you have the sense enough to end Congressman Ross's term in Congress in 2010, and Mr. Ross, you better be aware, I will be knocking on Arkansas doors alerting people to the debt you have voted for and this healthcare bill. They will know you have no backbone when it comes to standing up against Speaker Pelosi and Barack Obama.

This was just sent to me from a soon-to-be senior American. While I don't advocate the actons contained in this message, I do think it makes a valid point about the future of healthcare in America.

The Perfect Solution to Senior Healthcare After Obama Destroys It

While discussing the upcoming Universal Health Care Program with my sister-in-law the other day, I think we have found the solution. I am sure you have heard the ideas that if you're a senior you need to suck it up and give up the idea that you need any health care.


A new hip? Unheard of! We simply can't afford to take care of you anymore. You don't need any medications for your high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc. Let’s take care of the young people. After all, they will be ruling the world very soon.


So here is the solution. When you turn 70, you get a gun and four bullets. You are allowed to shoot two senators and two representatives. Of course, you will be sent to prison where you will get three meals a day, a roof over your head, and all the health care you need! New teeth, great! Need glasses? No problem! New hip, knee, kidney, lung, heart? Well bring it o!. And who will be paying for all of this? The same government that just told you that you are too old for health care. And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any income tax.

To Congressman Mike Ross and the Rest of the Blue Dogs

I am addressing this to Congressman Mike Ross, but the rest of you so-called blue dog Democrats better heed the warning. You will soon find out what political hell looks like.

We are being told today the blue dog coalition of Democrats who were preventing the fast track vote to Obamacare have given in to the demands of Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid. Currently the bill is being rushed through committee so Congress can pass it before the August recess.

Congressman Mike Ross (D-AR) is one of these blue dogs who may have caved in. Please consider the warning Mr. Ross. If it's true that you have caved in and contributed to messing up the single-greatest healthcare system in the world, you have my promise that I will repay your disgrace to your constituents by making sure they know you sold your soul for congressional gain.

We learned how the game works with cap and trade. We know how key Democrats pad the reelection pockets of little Democrats for exchange of a vote they know is wrong and will hurt the country. Once again, we obviously are witnessing the same.

Just so you know Mr. Ross, if it's true that you sold your country out and granted more power to the federal government--power that the Constitution does not provide the federal government--be advised I will be active in seeing your defeat.

I will drive down to one of my favorite states and work against your reelection campaign. I will let each constituent know that you think the federal government should oversee the healthcare decisions of thousands of Arkansans rather than those Arkansans choosing the best road to health with their doctor. One thing I know about the people of your district Mr. Ross, they don't want some government bureaucrat telling them what they can or cannot do.

I will contribute to whoever you opponent is, as much as I can afford. I will use this blog to personally encourage others to do the same to ensure you are defeated next year.

You see Mr. Ross, your constituents healthcare is more important than whatever political favors you will earn from caving in. My healthcare is more important than whatever it is you may have sold your soul for. The day that comes in which I am told my parents don't pay enough in taxes anymore so they are a burden to the system and will not be treated in the day you are really going to have to deal with me. With Obamacare, that day is coming for millions of Americans. You think about that while you have your cushy Congressional coverage that Congress chose not to lose as they steer Americans towards this new system.

I have good healthcare Mr. Ross. It's proven good once again as I go through my personal health issues at this time. Under the Obama system, there is not incentive for my employer to maintain my coverage. Even if he does, I will soon be double dipped for coverage by paying my own part of the premium and then paying the new taxes needed to cover this $1.5 trillion mess you may be now willing to put your name on.

If healthcare was a right Mr. Ross, our forefathers with their wisdom would have included it in the Constitution. They also knew the dangers of a central government having that much control over its people. In the end, healthcare was never a God-given right, which our forefathers write of. You need to consider this as obviously your coalition fell apart.

If this system is so good Mr. Ross, then why isn't Congress agreeing to put themselves on the government system. You best be ready for my wrath, and the wrath of other Americans who have spoke up 15 to 1 against this plan. It's coming. Your days in Washington are numbered if you caved.

Stimulus Spending Creating Week-Long Employment Opportunities

$780 billion is a lot to spend on American jobs that will last roughly the average American work week. It's exactly what the opponents of Obama and Pelosi's stimulus package warned of, although Democrats are still trying to prove otherwise.

A report coming out today shows that in Oregon, Democrats are bragging about 3,236 jobs brought to Oregon thanks to the stimulus. That sounds wonderful doesn't it?

It does until you start looking at the reality of the jobs. The jobs are nothing more than glorified yard work jobs lasting less than a work week. You go to work for a week and then you are unemployed a few days later. Thanks Barack!

According to the Associated Press, an analysis showed that stimulus jobs in Oregon lasted only 35 hours. Democrats are claiming victory claiming it's better than not working at all.

"Sometimes some work for an individual is better than no work," said Oregon's Senate president, Peter Courtney.

So let me see, a bill that dramatically increased the national deficit with promises for Americans has proven only to be a tax liability for future Americans while taking away from the time an American could be looking for real work. Yup, Obama's plan is really something!

Let's not forget that Obama has bragged he has created or saved 150,000 jobs. Is he subtracting from that total after these people put in their 35 hours? Something tells me he's not.

Enjoy Your Obama Cupcake: In April the Bill Will Come Due

Each day I marvel at how stupid the current President of the United States. I marvel while the same liberal elitist intellectuals continue to argue Obama is a smart man. Today, Obama had his Marie Antoinette moment, and we are all supposed to relish in his wisdom while enjoying of all things a cupcake.

As you know Obama's poll numbers are down. People are losing faith, so he is hitting the town hall meeting today. Obama proudly spoke that his economic reforms are working--this just days after Joe Biden said the economy was much worse than they ever imagined to provide a reason why the economy is getting better. In his speech, Obama lied to the people claiming he gave them a tax cut which will allow them to buy cupcakes.

Yes, Obama said cupcakes. What kind of tax cuts only allow you to purchase cupcakes? I know it's not a tax cut that will stimulate the economy. There is more stupidity in Obama's remark than just Obama telling the people to basically go eat cupcakes.

There was no tax cut. This is a lie Obama continues to get away with. If you don't believe me, go ask your HR department at work about the Obama tax cut. You will find out something you may not want to hear. They will tell you that you are probably going to owe money at the end of the year come tax time.

The reason is Obama didn't give anyone a tax cut. Obama's plan only allowed you to take home more. It never lowered the tax tables. In other words, you are paying in less to cover your tax bill which means you might not be paying in enough. If you aren't paying in enough, you are going to owe the IRS come tax time. Now I ask you if the majority people owe taxes come April 15, do you really think that's going to help the economy?

So Obama told taxpayers to eat cake--cupcakes. What he thought was funny today is going to upset taxpayers come February. Just watch those poll numbers once the reality of Obama's taxcuts kick in. Of course, with the way Obama governs, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a program for tax relief to save Obama from his own lie.

Wanting to Keep Your Own Healthcare Insurance?: Get Ready to be Double Dipped

Obama keeps pushing to get healthcare reform approved at a record pace. Obama continues to sell his healthcare plan by ensuring Americans they will be able to keep their employee provided healthcare benefits. That sounds like a swell plan on the part of Obama, but when you consider a truth Obama continues to hide, you will soon learn you won’t be able to afford your employee benefits.

Most Americans share the costs of their healthcare insurance with their employer. Employers get a discounted rate towards healthcare benefits because they buy in bulk. Most employers then require the employees to cover a percentage of their costs. Like taxes, the cost of healthcare insurance is then deducted from each of your paychecks.

What Obama isn’t telling you is if you stay with your employee benefits, not only are you going to responsible for a percentage of your own coverage you are also going to be hit up for all the taxes placed upon you designed to pay for this huge entitlement program. Those who keep their coverage will face being double dipped from in order to keep their current healthcare benefits.

As of right now, healthcare insurance costs aren’t taxed from your check. They are deducted from your check prior to taxing your gross. That may or may not change. There is talk Obama will do what he accused John McCain of doing during the campaign—taxing your healthcare benefits. There are tons of new taxes coming that will enforce double dipping. These taxes range from taxes on soda pop, candy bars, fast food, cigarettes, beer, wine, and booze, cosmetic surgery and dental procedures, and possibly a value added tax. That’s right, not only are you going to have to pay your share of your premium but you will be forced to pay into the many new taxes Congress plans in order to fund Obama’s takeover of the healthcare system. I wonder if you will be able to afford your own health insurance.

Air America Founder Evan Montvel-Cohen Found Guilty of Theft

Remember that boisterous little liberal radio network that claimed it would challenge Rush Limbaugh and bring him down though untalented hacks like Al Franken? You may not considering its inability to live up to its threats. If you do, it should be no surprised that a radio network designed to support liberal democrats was ran by a con man.

Evan Montvel-Cohen, the founder of Air America, was sentenced to five years in prison. As Air America began to fail shortly into its existence, Cohen began writing fraudulent checks. (I guess he was inspired by Democrats of long ago who had their own banking scandal.)

Cohen wrote over $30,000 in fraudulent checks. The checks came from a landscaper's office. The landscaper trusted Cohen as friend. As Cohen was sentenced, he begged for the felony not to stay on his record.

Geologist Calls Global Warming 'New Religion of First World Urban Elites'

I asked last why environmentalist tend to gather and meet in urban settings--the same urban areas that have seen the transition from earthly to city. Geologist Ian Plimer enforces this with his comments citing that global warming is the 'new religion of the first world urban elites.'

While there are thousands of scientists who question man-made global warming and point to faulty models designed for research dollars and not truth. Plimer goes farther than most scientists looking at the global warming movement as a cult of city dwellers who are clueless about the real environment and the history of the earth.

He writes in his book, Heaven and Earth -- Global Warming: The Missing Science, 60 published papers, and five other books, "anthropogenic global warming is little more than a con trick on the public perpetrated by fundamentalist environmentalists and callously adopted by politicians and government officials who love nothing more than an issue that causes public anxiety."

He notes that while global warming alarmist only look back at the last century or so, geologists records go back thousands of millions of years.

The dynamic and changing character of the Earth's climate has always been known by geologists. These changes are cyclical and random, he says. They are not caused or significantly affected by human behaviour.

Polar ice, for example, has been present on the Earth for less than 20 per cent of geological time, Plimer writes. Plus, animal extinctions are an entirely normal part of the Earth's evolution.

The Tanning Bed Tax is Coming: Tanning Beds Elevated to Top Cancer Risk

It won't be long until Democrats in Congress begin discussing the tanning bed. The same Democrats who are looking at taxing everything from fast food to Botox to pay for nationalized healthcare will be looking into the International Agency for Research on Cancer claim that tanning beds are as dangerous as cigarettes. In fact, the IARC says tanning beds are as deadly as arsenic and mustard gas. (Geez!)

Tanning beds have been elevated to the highest cancer risk. The agency claims the risk of skin cancer rises 75% when people use tanning beds before the age of 30.

"The use of sunbeds is carcinogenic to humans. It causes melanoma of the skin, and melanoma of the eye," said Vincent Cogliano, an IARC researcher who led the new assessment.

"I cannot see any reason why a healthy person should use them," he told AFP by phone.

Mark my words. In the coming days, we are going to discover a new tanning tax. It may be a tax based on tanning bed use. It may look at the color of your skin in the winter and then tax you based on the exposure. Get a sunburn during Obama care and get a sunburn ticket. Perhaps, they will just track how many hours you spend exposed to ultraviolet rays, and tax you based on time.

This press release will have the dim light bulbs in the heads of Congressmen flickering. If they are talking Botox tax then count on them citing this claim to justify a tanning tax to pay for nationalized healthcare.

Obama's Attempt to Hush Birth Certificate Demands Hasn't Hushed Lou Dobbs

If you tun into Lou Dobbs, you might hear something you wouldn't expect to hear on CNN. Dobbs is asking Obama to release his long birth certificate. Dobbs isn't going to debate whether or not Obama is a citizen (Dobbs believes he is), but he thinks Obama should release the long birth certificate to silence his critics. Recently on his radio show, Dobbs said:

"The left is trying to silence their opponents and their competitors in the public marketplace of ideas," he said on his radio show. "One issue in which the ethnocentric issue groups have been trying to silence me is on the issue of illegal immigration. Many of those, if you will, have migrated to me here recently because I, even though I said I believe the president is a citizen of the United States, I don't understand why he shouldn't produce a birth certificate. My God, you're talking about the third rail of American journalism, baby! That's it. I'm not going to back off."

Hummingbirds

Having an appreciation of life is an important part of conservatism. I realize this more with each passing year. We use the land and its resources to live and survive, and we give back to it. We will never receive the recognition for our appreciation of the outdoors and the life contained in each eco-system.

I have had many close encounters with animals over my many years of enjoying the outdoors. I have been five feet away from wild deer looking directly at me at the Dunes Lake Shore in Michigan City, Indiana. I don't think I have ever been as close today to a more fascinating animal than the hummingbird. (Please let me walk away from politics for a few moments.)

I know I am getting older. I am not quite 40, I still have just over a year and a half to go. I am starting to do those things I told myself I would never do. I garden and I feed the birds. I received a hummingbird feeder as a gift recently.

For the first few weeks, it just hung. Then suddenly, the tiny bird came, but was scared off from the excitement of getting me over to the window. As they became more secure with the location of the feeder they began to visit more frequently. I would notice when I was out in the yard, they would fly over and away--still not comfortable with my presence.

Today, I picked some new ripened tomatoes and went in through the backdoor. I noticed it flying over the house. I fumbled for my keys in the doorway, and there it was just a foot away. I watched its reflection on the door's glass.

As the storm moved closer, I went outside to watch. I stood in the same door way when suddenly the little humming bird was flying just a foot away from my face. It wasn't sure what to do, and it probably feared for its life. I stayed still and it decided it would fly off. I went to sit down on the step, and it came back.

These little birds are about the size of a mouse. They are like little race cars--quick and agile. It was just so amazing to be that close to one considering how timid they are.

With Cooling Temperatures, Why Aren't Global Warming Alarmists Celebrating Over Cooler Summers?

You think they would cite progress. Temperatures around the United States are much cooler than normal. In fact, the temperatures have dropped so much in the northern plains states, farmers are concerned about their crops.

Yet, there are no celebrations. There is no talk about progress. There is only more global warming, climate change hysteria. Just the mention the temperatures have dropped so dramatically have brought the alarmist out. They fail to recognize the sun has more to do with warming and cooling than little old man.

There is something else they don't want to recognize. Global warming is big business. Like it or not, people are making millions from scaring people into changing their lifestyles. Whenever money is a motive, you must always question the answer. Something tells me these past couple summers are not what Al Gore wanted when he produced that little movie and saw the money come in.

There are so many other scientists who count on global warming for a paycheck. The more outrageous claim they make, the better press they get, and the more likely they are to receive grants to further their outrageous claims. This doesn't come from me. It comes from over 600 scientists who see how polluted climate change science has become thanks to the almighty dollar. I'm all for capitalism, but capitalism that destroys capitalism really isn't a good idea.

If you want to know why we are facing cooler temperatures, just look up solar cycles #23 (which refuses to die) and the coming solar cycle #24. You will quickly learn the sun goes through cycles. It's happened to be on a downward cycles as temps have been decreasing over the past ten years. I find it funny these alarmists don't ever want to talk sun spots. They would just rather try to argue temperatures haven't gotten cooler.

Enlarged Lymph Node

I just got the phone call. It wasn’t good news. It wasn’t bad news. It was just news—news that could go either way.

Apparently it’s an enlarged lymph node. I am supposed to see a surgeon later this week and possibly get a biopsy and ct scan. That’s all I know as of right now. I wait for the surgeon to call.

Another Cambridge cop has come out claiming she was upset at Obama’s comments citing the actions of a fellow officer as stupid. She says she will not vote for Obama again. I find it interesting the media is going out of their way to find black cops that are offended by Obama’s comments. The media clearly isn’t color blind in the matter. They have pointed out there have been two cops who are black that no longer view Obama as worthy of voting for.

Housing Sales and CNN Fantasy Land by Phil in Wisconsin

CNN reported that new home housing sales were up 11% from May to June of this year. They reported what good news this is and that the economy is turning around. The problem with their Obamanomics is that no business ranks sales from month to month, especially a seasonal business like new homes. Sales are ranked from same month last year to same month this year. Unfortunately for the CNN branch of the Department of Propaganda if June 2009 new home housing sales are compared to June2008 new home housing sales we find there is a 21% drop in sales. If we compare June 2009 sales to June 2005 sales there is a 350% drop in sales.

If CNN is going to rank sales by month each month I guess we'll be in for a new home housing sales crash this December since sales will be way down compared to, oh say June or July.

The Obama Department of Propaganda has just one goal. Keep Americans ignorant on what is really going on in the country.

Michael Jackson's Pepsi Hair to be Turned into Diamonds: Controversy Erupts as to Who Owns Michael Jackson's Hair

Michael Jackson’s burnt Pepsi commercial hair is causing some controversy. Apparently the producer of the commercial has some remains of Jackson’s hair. He plans to send the hair to Chicago, where Life Gems will turn the hair into diamonds. The producer will then sell the diamonds as part of a limited collection. (Did you even know they could turn hair into diamonds?)

This has created controversy as who owns Michael Jackson’s hair. Ralph Cohen, the producer, raced over to Jackson to put out the fire in his hear. His actions ripped out a good chunk of hair from Jackson’s head, which he put into his pocket at the time. For 25 years, he has kept the hair. Now he wants to profit from it.

So who owns the hair? Is there ownership rights of such things? Obviously, Cohen is a tacky man who looks to profit like others from the tragic death of Jackson.

I’m with Rush Limbaugh on soccer. It’s a mindless game. I have tried giving it a chance by attending a Chicago Fire professional game. I left before the first half. The endless running after a ball got old.

Since it’s mindless, it’s no wonder that Barack Obama is a soccer fan. Today, he hosted the Federation International of Football Association (FIFA) president at the White House, where Obama showed off his best Pele attempts with a soccer ball.

Obama is taking time away from the healthcare debate. Instead of actually taking time to see what exactly is in the bill to prevent future embarrassment during future addresses to the nation, he is lobbying to get the World Cup in the United States. Yawn!

I hear all this talk about US Soccer, but does anyone really care? It’s still a small-market sport, especially when you compare it to NASCAR, the National Football League, and Major League Baseball. In fact, soccer superstar David Beckham doesn’t even take the sport serious enough in the United States to play the whole season for the team that pays him big bucks to attract more fans. Now Obama will probably look to taxpayers to make an offer to get the kick the ball series here in the States. (I am prepared for the soccer fan flames. Bring it on!)

Obama says we are broke, but obviously his own personal interests are at play here. It will be Obama’s interests that sees millions of US tax dollars offered to FIFA to get the games here.

Claire McCaskill Doesn't Show Up to Her Own Town Hall Meeting on Obamacare

Senator Claire McCaskill held a town hall meeting in St. Louis last night. The problem is McCaskill didn’t show up. She had her staff show up to conduct the meeting and answer questions over Obamacare.

About 500 people showed up at the meeting that McCaskill failed to show up. Her excuse was is she needed to get things done in Washington. Apparently Washington DC. Is more important to Claire than Missouri.

The truth is 80% of those who showed up spoke out against Obamacare according to reports coming out of the meeting. About 400 Missourians out of the 500 in attendance made it well known they were against the government taking over the healthcare system. Should we be surprised McCaskill didn’t want to listen to the people of Missouri once again? Of course not, she follows Obama around like a love-sick puppy dog, and doesn’t want to hear what the people of Missouri think when they oppose what Obama is doing to our country.

Global Warming Alarmist Prediction for January 2010: They Will Say This Year Was Hotter No Matter What

Remember July 2009 when January 2010 happens. Across the country, temperatures have continued to decreased as July has been a cornucopia of record low temperatures. A cool summer may turn into an early fall and a cold, snowy winter. Time will tell. One thing is for sure, global warming alarmists will tell you what you witnessed in July 2009 isn’t really what it appeared.

Be ready for the bombardment of lies claiming it got hotter in 2009. They did this last year, which proved to be a mild year as solar cycle 23 provided few sun spots. They will claim more ice is melting around the planet as the thermostat around the earth has been reprogrammed by the internal combustible engine and modern conveniences. Mark my words, they will find ways to spin it, but remember come January, July set over 3000 low temperature records. Global warming? I think not.

This all has to do with the sun. The lack of solar storms over the last two years is leading us into a cooling period—a cooling period that could wreak havoc on the crops in the northern plains. We are too caught up with a science based on biased models for research dollars to consider what might happen if we are heading into a period similar to the period known as the little ice age. There were a lack of sunspots during this time period as well. Misguided science could lead us into dangerous times.

Did Bill Clinton Grab Fast Food Before His CDC Speech on Obesity?

Remember during the 1992 campaign, Bill Clinton went for a job and an Egg McMuffin. Now Clinton is making the case against Obesity, no doubt to support Democrats coming taxes on fast food.

Clinton spoke at the CDC's Weight of the Nation conference. He claimed during his speech, "nearly one-in-three children and teens in the United States are overweight or obese. As the healthcare costs of obesity continue to soar, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthcare Initiative has taken a lead by bringing together health insurers, employers, and national medical associations to provide more than one million kids and teens in the U.S. with healthcare benefits for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, but we must all do more to develop innovative solutions to combat the obesity epidemic.”

Mancow reports today on his way to the conference, Clinton grabbed fast food before speaking on obesity. Mike Church confirmed this. Former President Clinton ate a Z's double cheeseburger, onion rings, french fries, apple pie, and a milkshake. This basically is a full day's worth of calories in on sitting for the President. He signed autographs while waiting for his to-go meal, and then drove off to his obesity conference. God bless you Bill Clinton for still giving us something funny to talk about.

Coldest Chicago July in 66 Years

Even in Obama's hometown, the evidence of global warming fades. The average temperature in Chicago this July has been a very cool 68.9 degrees.

The interesting part of this fact is the station that measures the temperatures was moved from the lake. As a former resident of Chicago, the closer you got to the lake in the summer, the better it felt. Now that may not be the case. I wonder if the bikini and Rollerblades often seen skating along North Avenue Beach were replaced with Chicago Cub sweatshirts. The temperatures before 1942 were recorded on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Of course this is great news for Commonwealth Edison and Mayor Richard Daley. Normally in July, ComEd has issues keeping the power on due to the increase in air conditioning use and Mayor Daley has to beg residents not to call his office or the police asking them to check on their elderly parents and grandparents because of the heat. (Yes, that happens in Chicago.)

The Dog Killer Michael Vick Gets Reinstated to Play in the NFL: Professional Sport Leagues Need to Lose the Thugs

I will be the first to say I am sick of the thug generation that has taken over professional sports. Yes, sports is entertainment--a collection of freaks who excel beyond the norm with amazing talent--but there needs to be a clear understanding among the freaks that children are watching.

Michael Vick soon will be taking snaps. The NFL has reinstated Vick to play football now that he is out of jail and broke after hosting dog fights on his property. What kind of sick person enjoys watching dogs fight to their death? Don't you have a greater appreciation of life than that Mr. Vick?

I think it's time professional sports begin to clean house of the thug mentality that has allowed violence to sweep off season headlines--whether it be Michael Vick or Ray Lewis. These athletes are being paid top dollar not just to put their talent on the field to win games but to represent the team, the league, and the community they play for. Too many times, athletes forget this truth.

I personally have no interest in any team that is willing to sign Vick. I think it sends the wrong message to young Americans. I don't care what team it is, I would never root for a team that continues to push these thugs onto the field while ignoring what idiots they are off the field. Sure you may say he did his time, but part of a conviction is dealing with the issues in life that comes after you do time--including a demotion in life. The NFL should have shut the door on Michael Vick.

Potty Pork: Do You Think the Obama Administration Would Award Joe the Plumber a Contract

The stimulus bill continues to produce piddly jobs. Millions of dollars are being spent across the nation to replace toilets. In New Mexico alone, $2.8 million has been spent to provide temporary work for a few workers and maybe a segment on Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel to replace some latrines on some national park land.

I think the obvious here is if there is potty money in Ohio, will Joe the Plumber be considered for a contract to do some of the plumbing? My guess is no.

If you remember right, it wasn't ever John McCain he nearly brought down Obama and Obama's study of Marxism, it was Joe the Plumber. For asking a simple question which exposed Obama's redistribution of wealth intentions, Joe the Plumber had every little bit of dirt thrown his way. My guess is if Joe eve tried to bid on the potty money, he would receive a personally signed letter from Obama and key members of the Democratic party stating they refused his bid because he isn't a licensed union plumber. That's how things work in Obama's America.

Obama the Hypocrite: From Feeling Intimidated to Becoming the Intimidator

Why is it Barack Obama opposed the idea of quickly pushing legislation through Congress without giving Congress or the country time to read it, but now follows that model on nearly every important piece of legislation? Obama made a campaign promise that Americans would be able to view each piece of legislation for nearly a week before he signed it. Obama hasn't followed through. In fact, Obama has egg on his face after a 2004 interview shows up.

Obama's interview condemns the exact same behavior Obama has led with--rush it through and keep the people ignorant. Obama says in the interview this causes messes and allows bad legislation to get passed without anyone knowing what's in the bill. I agree with Obama in 2004.

You have to ask, where's the change? The Obamabots were promised change, but we have clearly another example of meet the new boss--same as the old boss--with the exception the new boss is doing it many more times and at a much greater scale than the old boss. Obama lives on the fast track of not allowing legislation to be read thoroughly and demanding it get passed as quickly as possible. Democrats May Alienate the Hollywood Left Yet: The Botox Tax

Well, I have said it before and I will say it again. When Pelosi is behind the wheel, there is nothing Congress won't tax. It looks like the Democrats in Congress look to their Hollywood friends and other fashion gurus who depend on plastic surgery and Botox to maintain their careers. Plastic surgery may now be a vehicle to pay for Obamacare.

The Senate Finance Committee has been discussing placing a 10% tax on cosmetic procedures that may go as far as tummy tucks and dental cosmetic improvements like teeth bleaching. Anything that is not medically required may seen the tax. Now, if Congress really wants to make some money, they could make the tax retroactive, which would leave Nancy Pelosi scrambling for funds to pay off the evil IRS. I don't like the tax, but I do see some fun in it. Run Nancy run.

The Medical Unknown Faces Me Today: Thank God It's Not 2013

Over the past two weeks, I have had a growth underneath my arm turn from a small bump to a baseball-sized unknown mass. Over the weekend, the size of the growth made me realize I better seek medical advice. Today, I took some time off to find out what was going on.

As soon as I got to the doctor’s office, they verified my insurance. You have no co-payment today. Music to my ears! It’s a shame that my insurance may soon be gone forever as it has treated my so good so many times when I have needed it over the last eight years. I have had plastic surgery after a garage door accident, a hernia repaired, and now I will soon discover what a growth is in my body. There has been little come out of my pocket with each procedure. I am reminded today the ease in which I have received healthcare may soon be a thing of the past as politicians who aren’t good a managing anything may soon regulate the industry.

I don’t know what is going on in my body. I have an ultrasonic scheduled today which may lead to a cat scan. All I know is the doctor is concerned by the rapid grown, mentioned surgery, and wouldn’t rule out cancer when I spoke to him. Aren’t I glad it’s 2009 and not 2013! The United States healthcare system is the best in the world, and I have that comfort as I go into today’s tests. I can’t help but wonder if the promptness in which they have acted today would have been slowed down by a government bureaucracy with a computer algorithm that approves or denies care.

My mind really isn’t on what’s going on in the world today. It’s about how will I take care of the people I love if I have cancer. It’s about the treatment options I have. This has come on so quickly, that it’s surreal. It could be nothing. I am glad I won’t have to wait and go through a bureaucracy to find out. I was in early this morning, and scheduled for tests this afternoon. There are many parts of our healthcare system that isn’t broken.

Very Cold July After House Mistake: Over 3000 New Record Low Temps for July 2009

What's the chances of the Senate looking at July 2009 if and when they decide to vote on the economic destruction known as cap and trade? July has been unusually cold. In fact over 3,000 record low temperatures were set in the month of July 2009. It's always ironic when the government votes on climate change legislation, the weather never cooperates with the government.

The 3000 plus records equal 1,044 record lows and 2,925 record low highs. Low highs are the highest temperature reached during the 24 hour period. There are still four days left of measurements.

Obama's Rasmussen Approval Index Rapidly Dropping

Only 29% of the country strongly approves of the job Barack Obama is doing. It wasn't long ago when that number was unbeatable, but not 40% of the country believes Obama is steering this country in the wrong direction.

Obama's presidential approval index has dropped another six points. The score is now -11. Obama's racial comments over the Cambridge police department is cited as hurting him the worst. Obama faces another problem as well.

Obama managed to avoid the liberal name tag during the election, and now 76% of those polled realize Obama is a liberal. That is up 11 points since he was elected.

Joe the Plumber Gets It: Both Political Parties Are Offensive

There are many times I vote for Republicans biting my tongue. I know in today's climate they want to be liked by the media and by democrats who have found strength in the last three years. We have watched a few Republicans either become official Democrats or Democrat wannabes. Anyway you slice it, it's hard to swallow.

Joe the Plumber has been a busy man since he got Obama to admit his Marxist view over wealth redistribution, and he hasn't slowed down since the election. Joe Wurzelbacher was in his Holland, Ohio, home allowing an interview about how he sees things since the election that made him a household name. Here's some of the things Joe had to say:

As Obama's Ratings Fall, The Stock Market Rises

Anyone notice that when Obama's poll numbers plunge, the stock market rises. The stock market has come off it's best two weeks since 2000. It finally broke the 9000 mark for the first time in many months.

At the same time, Americans are waking up to who Barack Obama is and becoming more vocal in opposing his policies and plans for the country. Could the hope of defeat and roadblocks for Obama be helping the market?

CNN Anchor Tony Harris Cites Racial Divide is Growing in Henry Gates Case: How Could This be in Barack's America?

CNN anchors and reporters have short fuses. Once again we see a CNN providing more pathos towards a story than just reporting the news. Tony Harris loses his cool after Obama's 'good man' speech. He looks away, rolls his eyes, and clearly is upset over Harvard Professor Henry Gates.

I couldn't help but notice during his facial gestures, he used his hands to describe the racial divide in this country. I think it's hard not to include that Obama has created racial tension in this matter with his comments. Let it be noted that a black officer, Sergeant Leon Lashley, who assisted in the arrest said everything was done by the book and Gates acted strangely when the police tried to communicate with him.

I think Gates hand gestures are a symbol of Obama's America. The racial divide is growing. After years of progress, Obama continues to show he listened to the lessons of Jeremiah Wright while attacking a white cop for doing his job. He clearly sent the wrong signals across the country, and his comments could start another race war similar to the Rodney King case. Obama has that kind of power, so he needs to stop looking at the world as black and white.

We know that's not going to happen. The press ignored Obama's pew seat in Reverend Wright's church, so for most Americans they are just getting a taste of Obama's racial views. I guarantee once America figures out Obama's disgust for white people, which was fueled in the teachings of Wright, Harris will spread his hands even wider.

With Obama's Poll Numbers Falling, Maybe It's Time to Move Energy Away From Birth Certificate Issue

John McCain's campaign investigated the Obama birth certificate. They came up short. The story today from the Political Wire says the McCain attorney's tried to find evidence Obama was born outside of the United States, but only found clues citing the opposite. I myself believe the truth has been covered up, and I have my doubts Obama will be beaten and removed from office based on the issue now the McCain attorneys have made their statement.

The good news is Obama's poll numbers, according to Rasmussen, has dropped below 50%. People are seeing through the real fake part of Obama--the guy who ran compared to the guy who leads. They are two different people, and Americans are starting to regret their vote for change. If you feel you must spend time hoping evidence will show up that points Obama was born in Kenya, I believe you are wasting your time.

There is a bigger fight that is taking place that we can win. It's the fight over ideals and philosophies. Conservatives are winning the public battles and this is obviously why Obama has fallen from popularity. We need to focus on educating on cap and trade and the Obamacare so we can prevent our country from being robbed of its freedoms if ever these programs are passed.

Liberals will use the McCain attorney's statements against the people who will continue to invest energy in hopes of convincing the birth certificate is fake. Put that energy towards fighting the Obama agenda now. It's a bigger war to fight. It's not the birth certificate that shaping public opinion--it's Obama himself and his policies.

The Evil Emanuel's Plan to Put Grandma and Grandpa in an Early Grave: Senior Citizens Be Aware of Rahm and Ezekiel

By now you are familiar with the rotting-fish giving ballerina named Rahm Emanuel. He is Obama’s sly Chief of Staff. Rahm has a brother named Ezekiel, and both have heavy hands in pushing Obama’s socialist healthcare reforms.

Ezekiel, Zeke for short, was tapped by the Obama administration to consult with the latest plan to take over the nation’s healthcare system. The first thing that should be said about Zeke is that he is a known opponent of state-sponsored physician-assisted suicide. That’s good, but that doesn’t mean it won’t eventually happen if Obamacare is passed; after all, Zeke is just one voice advising Obama. Zeke is a strong supporter of guaranteed healthcare coverage.

Now, I have heard this on a number of talk shows, and I think it’s important that Americans understand the philosophy towards aging and healthcare which the Emanuel brothers hold. Zeke is on record stating it’s a waste of money to continue to spend for the healthcare of the elderly. In other words, the first people that will see rationing will be America’s seniors. They have less value. They are retired, they don’t pay taxes, and they collect money each month from the government in the form of Social Security. Social Security is going broke, so what a better way to relax some stress on the system than to promote rationing of healthcare for older Americans.

Older Americans may not be totally without options, but the option to prolong life though treatment will probably be denied unless of course you are someone like Zeke or Rahm. Their government connections have their treatment guaranteed. Zeke can make comments like this because he knows he won’t have to face denial of benefits. He is one of the elites. If Zeke’s philosophies are adopted, most Americans will be given the option to die in a hospice program. Zeke believes the hospice system needs to be expanded in a guaranteed healthcare coverage.

In case you are unaware of what hospice does, its sole mission is to allow terminal patients to die as comfortable death as possible in their own homes. It’s a great program, but a system that refuses to treat elderly Americans because the people who were consulted feel it’s a waste of money is shameful. How can anyone know support taking away treatment from someone based on their age knowing it could offer the patient five more good years to live and reward the people who love that person with those years. People like Zeke may feel it’s a waste of money, but to the people who matter it’s worth every cent.

This is the evil Emanuel brother’s plans. Ration care for the elderly and provide hospice care to cut costs to lessen the burden on Social Security and other government programs. Isn’t life more important than that?

Lance Armstrong Announces He Will Race for the New Team Radio Shack Cycling Team

When Lance Armstrong returns to next year’s Tour de France, he won’t be racing in the shadows of his teammates. He will be lead his new team for a chance at his eighth win. Armstrong will develop and lead Team Radio Shack.

"RadioShack has agreed to partner with us on this venture and ensure that this partnership and this team stays alive for years to come, continues to be at the head of the peloton," Armstrong said.  

Obama Says He's a Good Man: Then Obama Heads Into a Racism Speech

Well, Obama has taken enough heat. Do you know how I know? He went in front of the cameras and gave a little speech calling the police office he referred to as stupid ‘a good man.’ A good man? Is that the best he can do? Obama didn't even apologize.

These officers put their lives on the line each day, and they have a set of rules they must follow when making an arrest. Obama says he’s a good man and then goes into a speech on racism. If Obama felt in his heart the sincerity of an apology, why did he bring up the topic of race and failed to every say he was sorry? This officer was just doing his job, and it just so happens he was white and the arrested was black. Are we going to continue making it hard one white cops who arrest black suspects? Thanks Obama for stirring up the pot even further.

By the way, Obama invited the ‘good man’ and his chief to the White House for beers. I guess $100 a pound Wagyu beef is only for Obama’s elite friends and not the real heroes in the world.

Texas Governor Rick Perry May Use the 10th Amendment to Defeat Obamacare in Texas

Texas Governor Rick Perry told Dallas radio station WBAP that it may use the 10^th Amendment that protects states sovereignty to defeat Obamacare in Texas. Perry worries Obamacare will costs Texas jobs. He said today:

“It really is a state issue. If there was ever was an argument for the 10th Amendment and for letting states find a solution to their problems this may be at the top of the class. A government-run health care system is financially unstable.”

"I think you’ll hear states and governors standing up and saying 'no' to this kind of encroachment of states with their healthcare. My hope is that we never have to have that stand up, but I’m certainly ready and willing to stand up for the fight if this administration tries to force their very expansive philosophy down our collective throats."

Something tells me Obama and Congress doesn’t give a damn about the 10^th Amendment or the fact that the federal government has no constitutional authority to create this entitlement program.

Obama Says His White Sox Jacket Gave Buehrle Mojo For Perfect Game: Obama's Arrogance Shines in Chicago

Obama’s arrogance continues. Obama was in Chicago last night speaking to a group that contained prominent athletes. During the middle of the fund raiser, Obama starts going off on people who oppose his healthcare plan. He says he doesn’t like how people lie about his healthcare bill. Funny, in the same week we learned Obama hasn’t even read the bill. How does he know they are lying. Remember the blogger who asked him about how it will affect his employee based benefits based on the actual language that the bill contains? Obama admitted he wasn’t familiar with the plan.

Then the height or his arrogance showed in a phone call to Mark Buehrle, who had just pitched a perfect game for the Chicago White Sox. Obama cited that because he wore a Chicago White Sox jacket to the All-Star Game in St. Louis, that it gave Buehrle the mojo to pitch the perfect game. Notice how Obama has to associate himself with Buehrle’s achievement rather than just congratulate him.

Buehrle said after he spoke with Obama that Obama"was taking a little bit of credit because he wore the White Sox jacket at the All-Star Game and I told him how surprised I was that he actually did it. He said, 'Congratulations,' and 'It's an honor. A lot of people are going to remember this forever.'"

Just a couple weeks ago, Obama couldn’t even get the name of Sox Park right as he messed up the name calling in Cominsky Field. The Sox used to play at Comiskey Park which is now US Cellular Field. The Sox never played on Cominskey with an N field, and Obama claims to be a Sox fan.

Congressional Demcorats Will be Lambs to a Slaughter If the Move Forward With Nationalized Healthcare Based on Rasmussen's Obama Approval Poll

According to Rasmussen, Obama’s approval rating has slipped to below 50%. Since the focus of the administration has been healthcare this week, it’s not hard to connect the falling numbers with a plan that Americans don’t want and are quite possibly frightened of Obamacare. If I were Congressional Democrats, I would take a long serious look at this poll and realize the cult of personality associated with Obama doesn’t include a free pass from defeat come November 2010. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this fall in the polls is based totally based on the economy. This healthcare bill has awakened the American people who have slept and or gave Obama a pass through his large spending bills and cap and trade.

This polls follows Obama’s bumbling stumbling address to the nation which showed he clearly doesn’t understand his bill or the healthcare debate. Congressional Democrats could find themselves as lambs to slaughter come November 2010 if they pass Obama’s healthcare reform and ignore what the American people are currently saying. We know they have the votes—the question is will they reconsider and represent a people who are clearly nervous and opposed to the changes in Obama proposes.

New Poll Shows Mam Boxer's Reelection Chances Turning Downwards

 Wasn’t it just a few months ago that the Republican party was dead? Isn’t it interesting that in all of the states, the Senate race in California has tightened according to the latest Rasmussen poll. Although the election is still over a year away, it clearly shows the Republican party isn’t dead.

The polls shows Mam Barbara Boxer only four points in front of Republican party challenger Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. According the poll, Mam Boxer only has a four point lead, 45% to 41%. The Republican party isn’t dead. (Dang Rush beat me to this by a second.)

Obama Has Turned Unpopular Quickly: Rasmussen Reports Under 50% Approval Rating For Obama

Apparently Obama’s rants on the red pill and blue pill have not made him Matrix cool. In fact, Obama has turned cold. For the first time in his presidency, Obama has slipped below the 50% approval rating according to Rasmussen.

The latest polls shows that only 49% somewhat approve of Obama’s job and 51% disapprove. Things are falling apart at the White House very quickly, and Obama has become the butt of jokes on late night and cable current event shows. Yes, miracles can happen.

Cash For Clunkers Starts Today

Today is the first day of Cash for Clunkers. Chrysler is pushing the taking of more of your tax dollars on their commercials, and they are offering incentives to match the government handout to the auto industry. I saw the first commercials last night.

Cash for Clunkers is another government handout designed to destroy cars that suck more gas. The government is paying people up to $4,000 to destroy—that’s right destroy—their old cars. The cars won’t be donated to charity, used by the government, or resold by the dealers. It will be placed into a junkyard and destroyed. No matter the value of the car, it may be a real lemon that’s worth $500 or a Clark Griswold driven, spray painted in East St. Louis with the hubcaps stolen family Truckster, or it could be a perfect Ford Mustang, the government is paying big bucks which they don’t have to get these cars off the road.

After taking taxpayers for a billion dollar plus ride, General Motors and Chrysler are about to dip deeper into the pockets of taxpayers for an entitlement that shouldn’t exist. The national debt rises as good cars head toward the junk yard.

Plug the USB Cord from Your Car to the Gas Pump Before Pumping Gas

There is more talk of charging a per-mile-driven tax. I am listening to WLS AM’s Mancow and Cassidy this morning. Not sure where Mancow is, but Pat Cassidy is in control this morning. He just interviewed someone who supports the per-mile-driven tax. Cassidy says Mancow has gotten under his skin, and he took him out. I love how Mancow stages his show with a little fun drama to liven up the debate. (Actually, Mancow is on his way to Comi-con, which Google is celebrating today with a new Google graphic.)

The reporter was throwing around possibilities about how it will work. Fortunately the costs involved in investing in the technology and retrofitting all the cars on the road may make this harder to accomplish, but I don’t put anything past Obama and the Democrats desire to collect more tax dollars. When it comes to these things, it wouldn’t surprise me if they passed laws that made it illegal to produce parts for car models older than ten years old to encourage compliance.

Obviously, one idea is to hook your car up on the GPS grid that reports to the government the amount you drive. This has raised the big brother questions about government following your movements, so another idea has come forward.

The government could require you to plug your car into a gas pump. The pump would not be authorized until the car plugged into the pump. As you pump, your mileage information is uploaded into a computer in the gas pump. The gas pump then adds your mileage tax to the costs of your gas. This makes the tax easier to enforce while removing what could be considered a violation of the Bill of Rights with GPS technology.

Regardless of the technology they choose, it’s obvious major changes are coming in the way government taxes our movement.

Obama the Ambulance Chaser: Obamacare Protects Obama's Own

Why is the United States allowing a lawyer and his associates attempt to reform healthcare in the United States? Don’t they realize lawyers are part of the problem?

As we listen to Obama attempt to recite dialog from the Matrix with his red  pill/blue pill answer, mixed with his confusion about children’s asthma from during the campaign, it’s apparent Obama is clueless about medicine. However, there are Americans who hold his rhetoric as medical wisdom, which is just silly. Obama is an attorney, and attorneys only know one thing about medicine—driving the costs upwards.

The sue-happy generation that’s allowed attorneys to sit outside hospital emergency rooms waiting for the next victim of a doctor’s efforts gone bad is a major culprit in the increase of healthcare costs. Yet, Obama’s healthcare plan doesn’t protect doctors from the attorneys who have driven up the costs of malpractice insurance. It only prevents the government from being sued for healthcare costs. Obama protects his own while taking more incentive from being a doctor in the United States under his plan. When more people realize the hassles the Obama medical reforms contain, the less will choose to go into medicine.

Obama brought to Washington the promise of equality, but we clearly see over and over Obama protects his own while penalizing those he has fought against as a community organizer. He is divisive, as we see Obama continues to support the divide between attorneys and doctors.

Obamanomics Hits Arch Coal Hard: Remember Obama Promised to Bankrupt the Coal Industry

 With uncertainty over what cap and trade and other Obama environmental policies will have on energy companies, investors may be pulling away from coal companies. Arch Coal, a St. Louis company and one of the largest coal companies in the United States, saw huge losses in the second quarter. Arch stock lost $15.1 million, or 11 cents per share, in the last three months. This time last year, before Obama, the coal company earned $113 million or 78 cents a share.

Remember during the election, it came out that during a San Francisco trip, Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry as he promoted cap and trade. “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama said. “It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

St. Louis can’t afford too many more hits in their local economy, and Obamanomics isn’t helping.

 

A New Respect for Lance Armstrong the Athlete: Lance May Not Be in Yellow, but He Has Proved Himself a Champion

Lance Armstrong on the bicycle is perfection. Unfortunately, his aging Hollywood ego sometimes clouds that perfection despite his push to find a cure for cancer with his Livestrong campaign. At the Tour de France this year, the ego transformed into super domestique.

It was during the Tour of Missouri last year when Armstrong announced his return to the sport. Surprisingly, I heard grumbles. People were concerned the focus would be all on Lance and not the riders who supported him and now were in positions to achieve their own greatness. Ten months later, Armstrong answered those critics with class.

In sports, it’s almost cliché for a high-profile athlete to retire in their prime and then come out of retirement only to disappoint as to what was. Armstrong is one of the exceptions to the rules. As the Tour de France enters its final weekend with one final climb up to Mont Ventoux before finishing into Paris, Armstrong’s legs still have the power to climb with the best of them, but this year I saw a different story when the Tour hit the mountains of the Pyranees and the Alps.

There are points in cycling racing towards the end of a mountain stage that the real strategies of the grand tours begin to play out. A chess match begins as riders read the pain on other riders faces guessing how fatigued a rider’s legs are. Suddenly, at steep grades of eight to ten percent, a fierce rising on the pedals sends an individual rider rocketing forward leaving the question who will follow. For so many years, we watched Armstrong punish the competition, but this year he sat back.

I am sure many asked whether or not Armstrong still had it as it appeared he would be left behind, but then it became apparent. Armstrong was now repaying a debt for all the riders before him who paced him up the mountains until that intense pressure on Armstrong’s pedals dropped many of the biggest names in cycling—destroying any confidence they had of winning cycling’s biggest race. Armstrong was blocking his teammates rivals making them work to attempt to capture the attack, and as soon as they broke before the peak, we saw the familiar version of Armstrong—explosive on the pedals as he reached the summit. Those who doubted not believed. Armstrong could be much closer than he is to Alberto Contidor’s yellow jersey. Armstrong checked the ego at the door and gave up a chance for an eighth victory to contribute to his team. For this, I have a new respect for Lance Armstrong.

Armstrong may or may not be on the podium come Sunday. Tomorrow’s final climb up Mont Ventoux will decide. My guess is he will finish in third, somewhere around five to six minutes down. Even though he is not riding into Paris this year in yellow, Armstrong deserves the title champion.

When Things Begin to Fall Apart Around Obama, Find Dirt on Bush and Run Story

This may be the single best week of the Obama administration if that is possible. Why you ask? Well the foundations of hope and change appear to have cracks.

Obama's healthcare plan has angered Americans who continue to write and call their representatives at a ratio of 15 to 1 against Obamacare. In order to shift public opinion, Obama went to the airwaves. The magic was gone. Obama bumbled and stumbled through a press conference that even the mainstream media wasn't able to spin enough to make Obama look good.

Even in one of the most liberal states in America, Massachusetts, Obama is upsetting people. This week he said cops who arrested a black professor Henry Louis Gates from Harvard "acted stupidly." The president then began showing the Reverend Jeremiah Wright side of his beliefs as he began stirring up the racial pot. It's obvious Obama spoke for race before facts. His true colors shined this week, and America is watching closely as the economy continues down a rough road.

So when things get bad for Obama, what does Time magazine do? They revisit their favorite villains--Dick Cheney and George W. Bush. Time reports in "Legacy Fight: Inside Bush and Cheney's Final Days" the divide between Bush and Cheney over the pardon of Scooter Libby as they paint Cheney as narrow-minded and a pest over the pardon.

Then they press the rewind button over GITMO and whether or not Eric Holder should investigate the abuse of prisoners there. Nancy Pelosi and Democrats wanted this to go away after their hands appeared dirty, and now Time, knowing Obama is sinking, brings the issue back up again.

Throughout the article on Time, there are hyperlinks for Bush's top You Tube moments and the worst Vice Presidents in American history--subliminal reminders to place the focus on Bush as Obama falls. On the side of the page, they find the worst possible pictures of Bush. Hardly a coincidence.

Time hopes the ghost of Scooter Libby gives Obama another finger to point at Bush, but they forget at many times during the election Obama's confidence but undetailed rhetoric led Americans to believe that Obama could fix the economy. Less Americans believe that today, and pointing a finger at Bush is wearing thin. No one cares about the past except for the media and Obama. We care about today and what is going on in America today. Bush's days are numbered as an effective point to blame device. I think you could make the argument the Bush blame is all but dead.

Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi was bragging about how she had enough votes to shove Obamacare down our throats. Today, she doesn’t sound so confident. Like Majority Leader Harry Reid, Pelosi has moved the vote until after the August break. Remember just because Congress takes a break doesn’t mean you get to take a break. Keep fighting to defeat this plan!

Obama Fails Miserably to Stir Up Support for Healthcare With Address to Nation

 Harry Reid must not be sold on Obama’s plan. He just announced the vote for healthcare reform has been postponed until after the August breaks according to Rush Limbaugh. Obama’s ability to stir up support has not shown it was little more than a slick campaign production and it doesn’t work in the Oval Office. Obama failed.

The Obama Health Police Are Coming: Stop Buying Things That Are Unhealthy

I didn’t watch Obama last night. I am listening to bits and pieces of his address to the nation on the Mike Church show. Apparently, Obama went hitless last night from what I have heard. There is one statement Obama made that continues to anger me.

Obama actually told Americans that they are going to have to stop buying things that are unhealthy. There are many things to say about this but I choose to point out two.

We have Obama telling us what we basically will be allowed to buy and not buy in order to receive health benefits and ensure the nation can afford the entitlement program. This comment reminds me of the warnings for the coming police state. If you get caught smoking, fines. If you eat a hamburger or hot dogs, fines. Why is the President telling a free nation that we are going to have to stop buying things that are unhealthy. Obama is unhealthy. He raises the blood pressure of millions of Americans, and yet there is no talk to outlaw him. There should be based on Obama’s words.

Finally, when you consider things that are unhealthy you must include food, cigarettes, tobacco, beer, wine, and spirits. These are all industries that have done a fine job of keeping American employed. Now we have a sitting president telling Americans they are going to have to stop purchasing the goods they make. With unemployment rising, do you think it’s a good idea to tell Americans they are going to have to stop supporting companies that provide American jobs.  

A Global Warming Military Conflict?: John Kerry's Global Warming Rant Paints an Alex Jones' Picture

For some reason, the politicians give more credibility to Alex Jones every day. Now Senator John Kerry paints the picture that global warming, during another cool summer, will drag American troops into an international conflict. In fact, if you ever listen to the Alex Jones show, Kerry said the same thing Jones has warned about for years.

Kerry said global warming will cause massive crop devastation, melting ice caps, and millions of displaced people--which sounds like a need for Martial law. Does Kerry see the need to use troops against not just the enemy but the people too?

With his dire warnings, we now see members and former members of the military have become puppets of whatever the greater force is that is driving global warming. We now have military specialists testifying over their fears of global warming.

"Addressing the consequences of changes in the Earth's climate is not simply about saving polar bears or preserving the beauty of mountain glaciers," said retired Navy Vice Adm. Lee F. Gunn, president of the American Security Project. "Climate change is a threat to our national security."

Of course, the military experts don't push the issue as far. They sell global warming as the need for more humanitarian causes. I thought that's why Obama was pushing for a mandatory volunteer community service group. Now the military is going to serve as force to provide humanitarian needs because the temperature goes up a degree or so from a few years ago? Have they not noticed it's cooling? There appears to be something more sinister going on here as if they are preparing for another reason to control unruly masses. There is power in this hoax known as global warming.

Mystery Solved Over Man Who Rolls Inflatable Globe With His Dog

If you have been driving through the center part of Missouri in recent weeks, chances are you have seen a man rolling an inflatable globe with his dog. The globe stands up close to six feet tall and takes up a good portion of the shoulder. I saw the pair in Hermman, Missouri, a couple weekends ago. I posted a blog that attracted other people who were curious as to how this man is as they marked his whereabouts in the comments section.

His name is Erik Bendl. He is rolling the globe around to raise diabetes awareness, and as of right now it looks like he is walking to Kansas City. He has a blog which can be read at http://www.worldguy.org/.

Rhetoric for the Stupid: More Ignorant Words From Obama's Mouth on Nationalized Healthcare

Today Obama said "this is not a game," as he pitched for his massive big government overhaul of the nation's healthcare system. He continued, "I have great health insurance and so does every member of Congress." Yeah, and they also have retirement pensions, access to lobbying dollars, per diem for excellent meals in the finest restaurants, and multiple offices. What a stupid thing to say? I work for a company too that has great health insurance, should my employer be made to pay for healthcare insurance for people who don't work there as well.

That's not my point. Obama says he and Congress has great health insurance. It was just last week that Congress voted down a bill that would require Congress to take whatever healthcare reform they pass as their own. Just because Obama has great health insurance doesn't mean the national healthcare system he proposes is great.

Obama's words are designed to confuse ignorant people like Peggy Joseph (you know the woman who said if I work hard for Obama, he's going to work hard for me and I won't have to worry about paying my rent and gasoline anymore). They think because Obama cites his own healthcare as an example that they must be getting the same care. Congress wouldn't have anything to do with participating in this healthcare plan. This healthcare plan is for the peasants who will soon be overtaxes thanks to all the new Obama entitlements. This healthcare plan won't even come close to the healthcare plan that Obama gets. This is rhetoric for the stupid.

I love how Obama says this is not a game. Let's ask Jim DeMint's question number one again.

This is a game. This is a game called politics and the quest of more power and basically the end of the two-party system. Democrats know they can use healthcare to drive a wedge into voters. First, they will blame Republicans when their healthcare system doesn't meet expectations as they blame rationing on Republicans who beg for fiscal responsibility. Secondly, we have seen evidence that Chrysler dealerships were picked to be closed by political affiliations. Republican supporting dealers were closed three out of four times. Do you want to take that chance with your healthcare, especially when an electronic voting machine could easily be rigged to track your support of a political party and a decision for your medical treatment based on a vote?

The Daily Beast Recognizes Bungalow Bill as an Official Obama Hater: 'Obama Haters Go Viral'

Don’t you love it when the left recognizes your work? The left is doing a lot of damage control over a recent video of Representative Mike Castles (a Republican) reaction to a where’s the birth certificate question. It’s obvious they are clueless as to why the issue won’t go away, and they continue to send troops to promote the idea that if you ask if Obama is eligible for his office you must be crazy. In fact, John Avlon calls us Anti-Obama conspiracy theorists who are gaining momentum. Obviously if Obama would personally put out the fire, there would be no momentum gained. For some reason, Obama continues to avoid the citizenship issue rather than putting it to bed. Notice how Avlon makes the argument if you support the Constitution you are part of a wing-nut fringe.

Anti-Obama conspiracy theorists are gaining momentum with a new video clamoring for the president’s birth certificate. John Avlon on how the roots of the “Birther” movement lie in the 2008 campaign.

Signs of the Birthers’ grassroots conservative conspiracy-theorist momentum have popped at a town-hall meeting hosted by centrist Republican Rep. Mike Castle in Delaware.

A video of the event shows a nascent modern American know-nothing movement rallying around a crazed quest for Barack Obama’s birth certificate. It’s a perfect example of Obama Derangement Syndrome, defined as “pathological hatred for the president, posing as patriotism.”

The video is a glimpse at the ugliest underbelly of American politics: an angry and intolerant Nativism that appeals to people’s paranoid fears of “the other.”

In the clip, an unidentified woman in red stands up to ask Castle a question, brandishing a tiny American flag and her own birth certificate in a plastic bag. After some preamble, she says: “I want to go back to January 20. Why are you people ignoring his birth certificate?” At this point the crowd goes nuts, in every sense of the word.

“He is not an American citizen,” the woman continues. “He is a citizen of Kenya… I don’t want this flag to change. I want my country back!”

Mike Castle appears taken aback. After hemming and hawing a bit, he says, “If you’re referring to the president, he is a citizen of the United States.”

He is shouted down in tones that recall the crowd in Monty Python and the Holy Grail yelling, “Burn the witch!”

Castle continues: “You can boo, but he is a citizen of the United States.” (Hey John, this does not necessarily make him eligible. BB)

The congressman’s mild if steady attempt to tamp down this conspiracy theory reminded me of the moment in the 2008 campaign when, during a McCain town hall, an aging supporter accused Obama of being an “Arab.” McCain honorably tried to tamp down that strain of support by simply saying “no ma’am” over and over again.

It’s a sign that Republican centrists are operating at a disadvantage against the party’s wingnut fringe. There is a reluctance to take on the extreme in a full-fledged confrontation, a fight for the future direction of the Republican Party, for fear of provoking grassroots retaliation in a GOP primary. And in this there a tacit admission that the fringe is starting to overlap with the party’s base, pumped up by talk radio and the Internet, bleeding over into cable news and now town halls.

You reap what you sow, and some of this is the result of the “Obama is un-American” drumbeat that began by implication during the 2008 campaign and occasionally erupted in ugly ways, as in a should-be-infamous video taken at an October Sarah Palin rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Its residue was reflected in Young Republican Eric Piker’s Facebook post calling the President “Obama bin Laden” and new YR Chairman Audra Shay’s exposed online comments that the president is “anti-American.”

On right-wing Web sites like Free Republic, there has been not only sympathy for the “Birther in Red” from Mike Castle’s town-hall meeting, but reason for the congressman to be concerned. A comment on the site’s Bungalow Bill’s Conservative Wisdom blog offered this perspective: “Listen to this pansy congressman deal with his constituents. This congressman better be worried about his job in 2010 if this is the best answer he has, which is similar to an answer Roy Blunt gave me. Why are Republicans protecting Obama in this matter?”

Of course, it’s not the first time that what Richard Hofstadter called “the paranoid style in American politics” has reared its head. The original Know-Nothing Party of the 1850s was anti-immigrant and anti-Catholic while also waving the American flag, ultimately dubbing itself “the American Party.” And Obama Derangement Syndrome was preceded by liberals’ Bush Derangement Syndrome, a hysterical tendency to equate our then-president with Adolf Hitler.

In the Birther movement, Obama’s alleged birth in Kenya makes him the ultimate illegal alien. And when the Birther in Red speaks emotionally about her father’s service in World War II as a legacy she wants to honor and defend, she tellingly forgets that Obama’s grandfather and grand-uncles served in World War II, as well.

But the town-hall video’s most revealing moment comes when, overflowing with emotion, the Birther in Red nearly screams, “I don’t want this flag to change. I want my country back!”

She wants her country back from a man whom she sees as a usurper to the presidency in part because of his politics and his alleged subversion of the Constitution, but also in part because of his race. Somewhere slithering around is the idea that they must get this black man out of their historically white House.

The video is a glimpse at the ugliest underbelly of American politics: an angry and intolerant Nativism that appeals to people’s paranoid fears of “the other.” Its craziness is starting to seep in at the margins and affect our civil discourse. And its appearance so soon after the election does not bode well for the uniting of our country after the bitterly divided red versus blue decade, and the hope that something new might appear in the Obama era.

15 to 1: Calls to Congress Oppose Obama's Health Care Reform

Rush Limbaugh just reported the congressional switchboard has been lit up like the Fourth of July. Calls coming into Congress over Obama’s healthcare reform 15 to 1 in opposition to the current bill. This sounds like a bigger disaster for Obama than we originally thought. That doesn’t mean we need to lighten up. Our goal should be 100% opposition to Obama and his medical plans for the United States. Here are the blue dog democrats you need to keep calling:

30 Hour Famine? Are They Serious: More Liberal Youth Indoctrination

Once in a while I am amazed at who chooses to advertise during the Rush Limbaugh show. As I sat at my desk listening to WLS AM, an ad came on for 30 Hour Famine.

The ad encourages high school juniors and seniors to go on a thirty-hour fast in order to set aside enough food to feed hungry children. This is all meaningless feel-good indoctrination pathos, especially when you consider how much food an average restaurant throws away a day. The sad thing is these kids are being used to make a point that just isn’t true. A few teenagers going on a 30 hour fast isn’t going to stop hunger. It’s not even going to make a dent in it.

For most of my life, I have seen these commercials that are designed to make you feel guilty because you are eating every day. I have to admit, there were many commercials that I felt guilty about too, but the commercials never show the generosity of the American people and the reality of warlords in many of these countries in which the videos are filmed that confiscate the food America sends over.

So 30 Hour Famine says if these teenagers fast hungry children will eat. Well unless these kids are buying food with the small paychecks from their after school jobs, how are hungry kids going to eat because these now hungry kids do without. At my house as a teenager, my mom would set one less plate at the table which means one less kid, me, was eating.

Kids just like you are seeing their friends and families die from hunger - 26,000 every day, gone for good, 14,000 just from hunger and malnutrition alone. They're counting on you to care. Do you care? I know your own life is busy, but do you have room to care for someone else as well? If so, you should get involved. Starve for Food!

I am not laughing at hunger around the world, but these kids aren’t ‘just like you.’ I just think the idea of starving for food is indoctrination language. If these kids want to make a difference—do what my church does. My church has bought land to farm. They plant a large amount of garden vegetables and they donate them to the local food banks. Kids could plant gardens in the back yards and do the same if they wanted. This would have a far greater impact on the child and the people who are hungry than having mom not set a place at the table for four or five meals. Chances are if there is one less mouth to feed at your family’s table, the food is either going in the garbage or set in the refrigerator with a good chance it will turn green and moldy. I just hate how these organizations use children to indoctrinate them with half truths.

Rasmussen Reports 53% of Americans Oppose Obama's Takeover of the American Healthcare System

Rasmussen reports that 53% of Americans now oppose the current healthcare plan. The more that gets exposed about Obama’s plans for healthcare rationing, higher taxes, lower quality care, and the real attack on your employee healthcare benefits, the higher the opposition. It’s no wonder Obama is pushing so hard to get this passed before the polling numbers get worst for him. Let me remind you of Jim DeMint’s first question for Obama and his healthcare program:

Five Questions Obama Won't Answer About His Healthcare Reform Plan: Jim DeMint on the Attack

 Jim DeMint has been attacking Obama’s agenda with true conservatism. DeMint’s blog lists five questions he would like to see Obama answer about his healthcare reform. If I was DeMint, I wouldn’t count on an answer (at least an honest answer) from Obama, the health deformer. Here are DeMint’s questions:

1. If the major provisions of the health care bills will not kick in until 2013, four years from now, why the rush to pass a thousand-page bill before the August recess, a bill you admit that you haven’t fully read yourself?

2. You have said your health care bill will cut costs and not increase the deficit. But, independent analysis by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office contradicts both claims, saying it will raise costs and increase the deficit by $240 billion in the first ten years. What independent analysis will you provide that supports your claims and refutes CBO’s?

3. You have repeatedly said that your health care bill allows any American who likes their current employer-based plan to keep it. But the most comprehensive independent analysis available, by the Lewin Group, contradicts your claim and found your bill will force over 80 million Americans to lose their current coverage. Will you provide independent analysis to refute this study?

4. Your own record in the Senate reveals you spent years voting against nearly every reform to make health care more affordable and accessible, but this week you said that opponents of your plan are “content to perpetuate the status quo, [and] are, in fact, fighting reform on behalf of powerful special interests.” Which specific elected officials will you cite that have proposed to keep the status quo, and is that how you characterize the opposition of the 52 Blue Dog Democrats in the House and the moderate Democrats in the Senate?

5. Yes or no question: Will you guarantee pro-life Americans that, under your plan, they will not be forced to subsidize elective abortions?

Senate Defeats Right to Carry Concealed Weapons Across State Lines

The Senate has just defeated the bill that would allow Americans to take concealed weapons across state lines--58-39. It needed 60 votes to pass. The bill would have given licensed concealed weapon holders the right conceal and carry across state lines.

So carry just don't conceal. After all, why would anyone want to drive through these liberal cesspools known as cities without having protection for themselves? Would you drive through Detroit these days and not worry about your safety? Obviously Congress doesn’t care enough about your safety, so they defeated the bill today.

This if from the American Thinker. It should be contemplated by every American since Ted Kennedy hopeful his name will appear on a health system which would deny millions of Americans who are in his shoes medically.

 

Does Ted Kennedy Deserve His Extended Cancer Care?

 

Senator Ted Kennedy, who is now 76 years old and was diagnosed with brain cancer in May of last year, is telling the world that nationalized medical care is "the cause of his life." He wants to see it pass as soon as possible, before he departs this vale of tears.

 

 

The prospect of Kennedy's passing is viewed by the liberal press with anticipatory tears and mourning.  But they are not asking the proper question by their own lights: That question -- which will be asked for you and me when we reach his age and state in life --- is this:

 

 

Is Senator Kennedy's life valuable enough to dedicate millions of dollars to extending it another month, another day, another year?

 

 

Because Barack Obama and Ted Kennedy agree with each other that they of all people are entitled to make that decision. Your decision to live or die will now be in their hands.

 

 

Ted Kennedy is now 76. Average life expectancy in the United States is 78.06. For a man who has already reached 76, life expectancy is somewhat longer than average (since people who die younger lower the national average); for a wealthy white man it may be somewhat longer statistically; but for a man with diagnosed brain cancer it is correspondingly less. As far as the actuarial tables of the Nanny State are concerned, Kennedy is due to leave this life some time soon. The socialist State is not sentimental, at least when it comes to the lives of ordinary people like you and me.

 

 

The socialist question -- and yes, it is being asked very openly in socialist countries all around the world, like Britain and Sweden -- must be whether extending Senator Kennedy's life by another day, another month or year is socially valuable enough  to pay for what is no doubt a gigantic and growing medical bill. Kennedy is a US Senator, and all that money has been coughed up without complaint by the US taxpayer. Kennedy is already entitled to Federal health care, and it is no doubt the best available to anyone in the world.

 

 

Before he dies, Senator Kennedy wants to feel sure that you and I and our loved ones can put that personal decision about life or death safely in the hands of a Federal bureaucrat. It is "the cause of his life," we are told.

 

 

Now there are many people in this country who believe that Ted Kennedy has not spent his life very constructively. Mary Jo Kopechne's family might still want to trade his life for hers, if she could be brought back. Senator Kennedy has exercised more power over our immigration chaos than any other person in the last half century. 9/11 was committed by illegal entrants who slipped through our deliberately full-of-holes borders, using all manner of Kennedy-authored loopholes and enforcement gaps.

 

 

Others might point to the socialist habit of importing vast numbers of voters from Pakistan and Somalia into Western Europe, to make for cheap socialist votes in order to defeat and scapegoat native Europeans. Socialism by immigrant vote buying is happening in every single socialist country in Europe. It is what keeps socialist parties there in power. Kennedy has opened our borders for precisely that kind of takeover by masses of illegal immigrants.

 

 

So there might be a rational debate over the social utility of Senator Kennedy's life. We could all have a great national debate about it. Maybe we should do exactly that, to face the consequences of what the Left sees as so humane, so obviously benevolent, and so enlightened.

 

 

Consider what happens in the Netherlands to elderly people. The Netherlands legalized "assisted suicide" in 2002, no doubt in part for compassionate reasons. But also to save money. There is only one money kitty for medical care in the socialist Netherlands. When you get old, the question is asked, either explicitly or by implication:

 

 

Do you deserve to live another year compared to young refugees from Somalia, who can use the same euros to have many years of life?

 

 

There's only so much money available. The Netherlands radio service had a quiz show at one time, designed to "raise public awareness" about precisely that question. Who deserves to live, and who to die?

 

 

But nobody debates any more about who has the power to make that decision. In socialist Europe the State does. It's a done deal.

 

 

The Netherlands legally recognizes four categories of euthanasia.  One of them is:

 

 

Passive euthanasia: A physician may choose not to treat an recurrent disease or event in a patient with a terminal progressive disease.

 

 

I don't know enough about Senator Kennedy's condition, but I would suppose that he has "a recurrent disease or ... a terminal progressive disease." That would be the case if his brain cancer is not curable. In the socialist Netherlands Kennedy would be a perfect candidate for passive euthanasia. 

 

 

Has anyone raised this question with Senator Kennedy? I know it seems to be in bad taste to even mention it. But if ObamaCare passes in the coming weeks, you can be sure that that question will be raised for you and me, and our loved ones. And no, we will not have a choice.

'You Are Going to Destroy My Presidency': Obama Fears His Agenda is Falling Apart

Obama is worried his vision may be soon over if healthcare reform fails. Senator Charles Grassley reported Obama is telling Democrats in Congress who are weary of supporting Obama’s healthcare plan that “you are going to destroy my presidency.”

From Congress Daily, Grassley says, "Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

If this is the best Obama has, his presidency has already been destroyed because there is no hope in his health care plan as well as other issues on his agenda. This is why Democrats are backing down their support of Obama. They are concerned their constituents see the truth behind the real destruction in Obama’s agenda, a destruction of the economy and the American Constitution, and feel their seats in Congress are in jeopardy if they continue to blindly follow Obama and pass his agenda.

Notice in Obama’s arrogance, it’s not Obama who is destroying his presidency. He blames that on everyone but himself, which is a pattern we have seen with Obama. Even after the stimulus failed to deliver jobs as promised, Obama continues to look away from himself to place the blame. Of course, it’s easy to see Obama’s promises failed.

It’s unclear which member of Congress was threatened by Obama, but a number of blue dogs have announced it wasn’t them. There is obviously stress in the Obama White House over what appears to be a crumbling of Obama’s agenda, and recent pictures of Obama show a tired, stressed man. These comments are believable.

 

General Motors Sales Down 22% For First Half of 2009

The first half of 2009 hasn’t been good for General Motors. One has to wonder if it’s the economy, a backlash of Americans who opposed the bailouts for General Motors, or a combination of both. General Motors sales are down 22% for 2009. Whatever Obama is doing for General Motors, it, like everything else Obama touches, is failing.

The best thing Obama could for General Motors is return it back to the private sector and lessen the government regulations on the company. Having friends who sell Fords, they have seen an increase in former GM customers who have traded in their Chevrolets in protest of the government takeover of General Motors.

Newt Gingrich Warns of Coming Attacks Against the United States

As Democrats cut the defense budget, including cutting the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter, Newt Gingrich worries we are weakening our national defense too much. Gingrich worries if we don’t start taking national defense seriously in this administration, which continues to make cuts in important defense systems designed to counter an attack against the United States, we could see several million Americans dead.

“We are today running very big risks in the name of saving a few billion dollars that may end up killing several million Americans. The time to fix that is before the disaster happens,” Gingrich said.

“We are living at the edge of a catastrophe, and we need to understand that’s exactly where we are. What we are faced with is not simply a problem, it is potentially catastrophic.”

In the late 1980s, our nuclear fears began to fade, but there are new fears as of today. I tend to agree with Speaker Gingrich on this one. Now is not the time to cut the defense budget. Obama says he wants to create and save jobs; yet, he continues to oversee cuts in the military budget. These cuts don’t equal new jobs nor do they make this nation any safer.

Now is not the time to back away from missile defense. North Korea will eventually get their issues with a long-range missile figured out. Iran is just months away from testing their first nuclear weapon. These are dangerous times, and Obama is making the wrong decisions to handle these times.

A Look Into the Future of American Healthcare: A Mandatory End of Life Counseling Session

Obama warns that people are going to scare you about his healthcare reforms. The truth is it doesn’t take anyone other than Obama to scare over his reforms. There are so many eye-opening processes contained in Obamacare. They should call this healthcare deform—not healthcare reform.

I don’t think anything is more eye opening than the mandatory end of life counseling in the bill. The mainstream media isn’t going to touch on this, because it suggest rationing and options to end your life sooner rather than later. A truth among liberal healthcare reformers like Obama and Tom Daschle is they believe they can cut costs of healthcare by reducing treatments that give patients the hope of another year or two on earth. Joe Dirt: The government will provide you a $100 allowance towards physician-assisted suicide sir. The remaining bill will be taken from your remaining estate sir. Do you have any other questions Mr. Smith? (Mr. Smith shakes his head in anger.) Then please sign this series of government forms confirming you have completed your mandatory end of life counseling Mr. Smith.

This is why you should be scared about government healthcare. End of life counseling is a part of Obamacare. You can find it on pages 425-430 of the bill.

Some of you may doubt that is what end of life counseling will contain, but I invite you to take a look at the story of Barbara Wagner who lived in Oregon, a state which has state-sponsored healthcare. Wagner had terminal cancer and the state of Oregon told her she would not qualify for any more treatment. She was sent a letter letting her know the state of Oregon would help her with physician-assisted suicide. It was the only option the state of Oregon presented Wagner. If Obamacare passes, millions of Americans will face a similar reality.

This is why you should be scared of Obama. Don’t let him fool you while he pretends to be a healthcare saint. Obama is no saint.

The Obama Sitcom Airs Tonight: Obama Will Tell Americans He Saved the Economy

Rahm Emanuel has told the New York Times Obama will tell Americans he saved the economy. (Don't you wish you could insert a laugh track like they have in sitcoms in your blog? This is the perfect place.) That's right, with unemployment rising, the dollar losing value, more countries calling for the replacement of the dollar as the international currency of debt, a stimulus bill members of the administration have now made excuses for, reckless spending, the Federal Reserve predicted no new net gains in jobs for the next five years, and of course our printed money tripling in quantity since October, Obama is going to stand in front a camera tonight and say he saved the economy. (laugh track)

Obama's poll numbers are dipping fast. I guess this is all he has is to create an illusion things have gotten better to save his numbers, but I think Americans have become irritated as the once-popular president now faces the backlash across the country that has grown since the tea parties. More Americans are tuning into what Obama is really saying, and the change is scary as hell as Obama admits he doesn't even know whats in the bills he is pushing to gain more power. Just yesterday, it came out his health care plan has mandatory end of life counseling. More signs his plan includes rationing for senior Americans.

Have you noticed Obama's desperation? You can only live on rhetorical themes for so long. Hope and change is dead as a positive vehicle that made Americans want to believe there was something good in Obama's heart. Obama is Wall Street made--seeing the change was good for his Wall Street friends like Jeffrey Immelt of GE. During the election Obama supporters like Peggy Joseph thought it was about them. Obama is a failure and even his own party is starting to question his motives as they prepare to hand the administration a defeat in healthcare, which Obama continues to lie about.

I have noticed the desperation. Look at the increase in comments from the brain-dead Obamabot zombies who overlook the fact Obama lies. When he is in front of the camera he tell you the opposite of what is in the bill. Look beyond the camera Obamabots! Read some legislation and use some common sense. Obama says he won't touch your employee health benefits, but the bill says differently.

Post the words Obama birth certificate on your blog and Obamabots come out in mass citing they saw a birth certificate on the Internet. I have seen a lot of things on the Internet too, including pictures of naked celebrities that were nearly Photoshopped to perfection. The comes the court orders. They are desperate to protect hope and change, but they don't even recognize hope and change is dead.

So tonight, Obama will stand in front of a declining TV audience and lie. The economy is not getting better, and Obama himself stated unemployment is going to get worse. How in the hell can he stand up in front of Americans who continue to lose jobs and claim he saved the economy. The truth is Obama better start realizing what his programs are going to do the to future economy. His spending is going to cause higher taxes. His taxes are going to cause more job loss. His energy policies are going to force American companies overseas where they will deal with less government regulations. His printing money is increasing inflation and will lead to hyperinflation, and if he suddenly pulls what has been printed since October, it will place us back into a recession. This economy hasn't been saved.

Studying the Drinking Habits of Lesbians in Chicago: University of Chicago Gets A Lesbaian Study Grant

Mancow just revealed the government is spending $3 million to study the drinking habits of lesbians in Chicago. The University of Illinois Chicago's College of Nursing received the federal grant to identify the risk factors for excessive drinking among lesbians. (Why would they be any different than anyone else?)

Professor Tonda Hughes will be leading the five-year study. It will probe the past of lesbians including child sexual abuse as a child, adult sexual assault, and discrimination both sexually and ethnicity.

Hughes is a twenty year veteran of studying lesbians, and now your tax dollars are going to pay for her to sit in lesbian bars and socialize and observe. It sounds like Hughes may be the life of the party. I wonder if the money will be used just for research or if there is some personal pleasure in store with $3 million worth of your tax dollars.

"Myths and stereotypes of lesbians as alcoholics and heavy drinkers are largely based on studies conducted in the 1970s that recruited most of their samples from gay bars," Hughes said. "Our research is designed to provide a much more realistic picture of the patterns and variability of lesbians' drinking."

Apparently, Hughes is going home with the lesbians as well since she wants to get beyond the realm of gay bars. Why am I not surprised!

How cool do you ask? Today was the coldest temperature on record for July 21 in Nashville since 1877. So I just wanted to remind Al Gore to be prepared and bring a jacket. We wouldn't want the jester to catch cold--or worse the swine flu.

Oh, by the way, in my worries for Gore's health, I forgot to give you the temperature. It was a cool 58 degrees in Nashville this morning. Here in Southwest Missouri, we have been experiencing similar cool temps. It was a mild 70 degrees today in Springfield. Seriously, how does Gore have an ounce of credibility left. He should be laughed out of the country.

Running Out of Gas: The Obama Charisma is Dying

Recent pictures of Obama show a man who needs a tire gauge. It's apparent there is a leak which the charisma is escaping from. Obama is a man who wasn't expecting so many legislative battles. This was supposed to be easy the way the deck was stacked. All he had to was remain quiet and maintain the same old rhetoric of hope and change. Something died one night on the way home to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

I am reminded of pictures from the vaults of history dated 1964 somewhere between A Hard Day's Night and Beatles for Sale. The fast paced lives of the Beatles began to show in their faces, which is what we are starting to see in Obama. Obama's big mistake right now is he tried to be the Beatles of the presidency.

Not only did he take off on a non-stop legislative tour--the most aggressive I know of--but he also tried to live the rock star life. His mistake has been talking. Obama is not a smart man, and he communication skills are quite limited when he is not bopping his head right and left following a teleprompter his Achilles heel is exposed. The more Obama talks, the more he inspires those who wish Obama and his policies to fail. Obama's desire to be in front of the camera is starting to wear thin on Americans who have started to figure out Obama is a statist. Obama should have taken a behind the scenes stance, but he likes to be the center of attention. We have confirmed who Obama is--a radical leftist with a fascination for communism learned from his mentor Frank Marshall Davis. His desire for power isn't what his blind followers felt they would get when they cast their votes in November.

Now we see the tired eyes, an aging president before our eyes in just over seven months. He looks like hell, and one has to wonder if healthcare is Obama's waterloo, which I believe it is, how Obama will cope now that America has figured out who Obama is. We might be seeing the greatest let-down in American history before our eyes, although it's too soon to toot the horns. It wasn't supposed to be this hard for Obama. Healthcare should have passed with little debate considering the numbers in Congress. Obama got too cocky--too confident--and he said too much, and amazingly, thank God, America began to really listen to what this incompetent man had to say. You can only fool people for so long.

Strategies for Social Media, Blogs, and Web Copy

I am publishing this to help my conservative blog friends develop strategies to help defeat the liberal movement in America. Blogs are a great vehicle to spread the truth about Obama and should use strategies to gain an audience and instruct readers for action. I hope these strategies work for you.

For Web copy to be successful, it has to lead a reader through the content with a goal. The goal is simply what do we want the reader to do once they have read the copy. If you spend time to share valuable information but fail to lead them to the next step, you are losing a potential customer. In other words like a salesman, you have to close. You will measure the success of your copy by the number of conversions.

This is a collection of successful strategies that should be applied to Web pages, blogs, Facebook fan pages, and other social media content to help improve your conversion rates. These rules have been taken from successful multi-million dollar marketers like Joseph Sugarman and Maria Veloso.

Keep it simple

People who visit Web sites don’t read—they scan. In most cases, you have 15 to 30 seconds to gain their interest and provide a reason why they should stay at your site and turn their scanning into a comprehensive read.

· Keep sentence structure simple.

· Don’t be wordy.

· Get to point—provide a pain (issue) and a solution (multiple pains and issues can cause confusion).

· Don’t waste time placing information that can be left out without changing the meaning of the copy.

· Write at a seventh grade level knowing that everyone who visits your site doesn’t have a degree in English literature. (Microsoft Word’s spell checker has a tool which you can turn on that grades the reading level of your document. Shoot for a Flesch grade level score of 7.0 to 8.0.)

· Write conversationally.

o Don’t be afraid to throw out some grammar rules, but not so many that you appear incompetent.

o Use contractions, they are less formal and tend to relax language.

o Write like you talk.

Headlines

The headline may be the most important part of your copy. It must capture the attention of people who search for answers in search engines like Google. It can be fun, but it also needs to ensure the reader that if they read on, they are going to be introduced to a solution.

· Headlines should be short.

· Should draw reader to the subheadline.

· A headline should help define the content.

· Write out a list of possible headlines and then choose the best.

· Use an editorial approach to create your headline.

o Sales approaches come across as pushy and you want it to be conversational, not pushy.

· Does the headline work with the subheadline, paragraph headings, and content to get the viewer past the five second test and convinces them to read on?

Subheadlines

The subheadline is almost as important as the headline, but it has a different job.

· It provides the opportunity to expand the headline.

· Gives more information about the content.

Photo or drawing

One of the types of learners uses visual cues like pictures to acquire knowledge. Pictures are an important part of social media. Always include a caption with your picture, as it is nearly always read.

Copy rules

The idea of copy is to keep on a slippery slope. It’s important to maintain the readers’ interest and lead them to the end of the copy. The end of the copy should instruct the reader what they should do next, so think of copy as writing a sales process. You must interest the reader and in the end you must close the reader.

Therefore an important discussion must take place prior to writing the copy. What is the goal of the copy? What must the reader to do to measure success?

The first sentence

The appearance of text on the page can make the difference of a potential customer reading on or leaving. Once again simple is better. Paragraph block should be smaller because they are less intimidating. Large blocks of text represent time and complication.

Sugarman recommends writing a short sentence to start the actual copy. The sentence should be a point and immediately generate interest to get the reader to proceed to the second sentence. The second sentence builds to the third sentence and so on from sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph.

Paragraph headings

Like I mentioned earlier, Web users don’t read, they scan. Give your visitors visual cues in which they can quickly find the information they need on the page. Headings also break copy into chunks so the copy looks less intimidating.

Bullets

Earlier, I looked at why you should have an image and a caption included with your copy. There are people who learn visually. Bullets are another tool that reach out to different learning types. They quickly bring out the main points and summarize content.

Pain (issue), solution, action

You must address the issue with the pain it will cause. You must make the issue a pain. If it doesn’t hurt people it will be hard to defeat if your intentions is to expose something you disagree with. Pains are the first part of the slippery slope needed to be successful with Web copy. It’s important to focus mainly on one pain to avoid confusion and information overload. Remember if someone found your content via the Web, they were probably looking for a solution to a single pain. Focus on that pain and let the pain lead the reader to the solution.

The solution should create enough interest without giving up entirely what your product does. Remember, the idea with any product is not to give up all the pizzazz up in one paragraph because there will be other products who solve the same pains. When final negotiations begin, you will need some pleasant surprises which sell your product through additional pains which may arise. This pizzazz can be presented later and should depend on the goal of the original copy.

Finally there is the action. What do you want the reader to do once they are finished reading the copy? This is what is called the close in the sales world. Copy needs to close as well. It may be as simple as leaving a comment in a comment form for feedback. If you have a product or idea to sell, you will ask them leave information about themselves so they can be contacted by a sales rep. You might ask them to order online. Regardless of what it is, the reader must be instructed what to do at the end of the content.

There are many different response devices for use on the Web—coupon, toll-free numbers, opt in offer, ordering information, information request forms, or release of a publication or information in exchange of lead information. It may be to contact someone like a Congressman and express support or feedback. It may simply be please leave your comments or visit a Web site for more information.

Remember, we are all sales people in life. When you write, you want people to buy into what you write by considering the points you make. Take advantage of what you know about the sales process and place it in your copy while relaxing the tone to be conversational—not pushy.

Keywords

Finally, there has to be a good distribution of keywords in your content. Keywords should be conservatively used in the headline, subheadlines, and content so the pages get indexed for searches. Don’t overuse keywords as they will complicate the writing and violate search engine algorithms, which could hurt your search chances. Keywords should be used sparingly, but don’t forget to use them. They are key to attracting people to your copy.

Activist attitude

The left has been successful for years in organizing. Learn from this and ask your readers to call Congress, city council members, or whoever in order to make a difference. A blog or Web content that leaves the reader wondering what to do has failed.

One Man, Many Taxes, 365 Days Day 196-200 The Toilet Paper Tax

I have been making the case through this series in my blog there is nothing that is beyond the realm of taxation when it comes to the morons who sit in Congress. Today, news started to leak that contained in the pages of HR 3202 is the government's definition of toilet paper with the following proposal to create a three percent excise tax on toilet paper and other toiletries. This proves the government is even willing to tax you to take a crap. Aren't you proud of what freedom has become in 2009. It almost makes you wish you could celebrate the Fourth of July twice in a year, doesn't it?

Keep the Pressure On: Democrats Are Shaking In Their Ballet Slippers Over Healthcare DEform

Healthcare reform shouldn't infringe on freedoms, nor should it give the power to decide your health issues to the government. Like Hillarycare, Obama care removes the power from the patient and gives it to the government. Apparently, many Democrats are nervous about the thought of giving more power to Obama. Waterloo has started.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer claimed Democrats are having issues agreeing to reach a consensus. This by no means the battle is over, but our message against Obamacare is getting out and proving unpopular with the American people.

The disagreement comes from two issues. First, Democrats realize the economy under Obama hasn't improved (you could argue it's gotten worse). To raise taxes to pay for another entitlement program would further hurt the economy, and as you probably know the national debt has steeply risen under Obama's leadership. The Obama plan is said to increase spending by another $1.5 trillion.

The second issue is some Democrats appear to be against another entitlement, especially one that will hurt the private sector by competing with private insurance companies. Hoyer said they will continue to meet and would consider keeping Congress in session so Obama's wishes of Health DEform, that's right deform because you can't call something that is going to turn something that is good into something bad reform, are granted.

You must continue to call the blue dog Democrats which are causing Hoyer headaches. Once again the blue dogs are:

If You Flush It, They Will Tax It: The Wipe Your Ass Tax

The United States Congress is preparing to tax toilet paper, toothpaste, cosmetics, and anything else that gets flushed or runs down a drain if H.R.3202 passes. The Water Protection and Reinvestment Act not only gives the federal government control of the nation’s waterways, it gives the government control of the pipes in your house. In essence, Congress is prepared to tax you for wiping your ass and washing your face. Section 4172 of the bill actually defines what toilet paper is before it describes the coming tax.

If the law passes, the government will add an excise tax to toilet paper and other things whose end involves running down a drain. The tax will be a three percent tax charged to the manufacturer, which is the way Congress claims they haven’t raised your taxes directly. Obviously the tax gets passed on to consumers in higher prices. The bill goes as far as taxing cooking oils as well, since many home owners dispose of cooking oil down the drain. The bill also adds a four percent excise tax on bottled water.

Congress claims the $10 billion a year they will collect from the wipe your ass tax will pay to clean water and replace the corroded pipes in the nation’s aging sewage system. Wait a minute… Why didn’t they decide to replace these pipes with part of the $750 billion plus in stimulus money. Oh that’s right, they bought pork with their pork, so now they need more of your money.

With cap and trade passed in the house and set for debate sometime in the Senate, Congress now looks at another environmental tax to place upon the people of the United States. It makes me wonder if there will be a Sheryl Crow one-sheet tax break for the unclean, stinky asses in the United States.

Partisan Suicide For Democrats Who Pass Obamacare?: Dick Morris Weighs In

If the Democrats obey President Obama's command and pass a health-care bill by the August recess, they'll be committing partisan suicide.

Obama's insistence that we completely remake our health-care system -- and do it two weeks after the first bill was marked up in the first committee -- is too arrogant by half. It smacks of the kind of overreaching of FDR's second term in 1937, when, after his landslide win in 1936, he tried to pack the Supreme Court to reverse its anti-New Deal rulings.

Americans are increasingly turning against Obama's program. A Washington Post poll has the plan's public approval below 50 percent; Rasmussen has it trailing 46-49.

For Obama to ride roughshod over Americans' rising concerns about a matter so intimate will be too much.

What's the rush? they'll ask. The bill isn't even slated to take effect until next year. You passed the stimulus package, they'll note, in a similar rush during the administration's first week -- only to see it fall flat. Now Obama aides are claiming the package was never intended to have much effect this year!

How, voters will ask, can we cover 50 million more people without any new doctors or nurses? The answer is to ration health care, with the government deciding who'll get hip and knee replacements, heart-bypass surgery and other medical treatments. And what does rationing mean? It means that the elderly will be denied care that they can now get whenever they want.

The Obama plan effectively repeals Medicare, putting a Federal Health Board between the elderly and their doctors. This board will instruct public and private insurance carriers on what procedures are to be approved, at what cost and for what patients.

The bulk of this rationing will fall on the elderly. We'll have to revisit the idea that the elderly have, in the words of former Colorado Gov. Dick Lamm, "a duty to die."

The more word gets out about what the bill contemplates, the firmer opposition will grow. That's why Obama wants to push it through now, while he retains some popularity.

And if the bill passes? The howls of protest from the elderly the first time they're denied care will be something to behold. It will become evident that the health-care resources being denied to the elderly are going instead to immigrants -- legal and not. The anger will be enormous and instant.

Most Americans aren't sick and don't use medical facilities often. But the elderly constantly stay in touch with their doctors and medical providers. The curtailment of that access will become immediately apparent -- and in more than enough time for the 2010 elections.

Some votes live on and on. People remember senators' votes on the Kuwait war resolution. President Bill Clinton chose Vice President Al Gore for the 1992 ticket largely based on Gore's vote in favor of the invasion. It sent a signal that Gore and he were a "new kind of Democrat."

This health-care vote is similarly consequential; it will linger for years.

Obamacare Requires Mandatory End of Life Counseling for Seniors

More bad news for America’s golden generation. The nation’s seniors are going to be offered mandatory end-of-life counseling according to page 425 to page 430 of the healthcare bill. That’s right, the government is going require Senior Citizens to go through counseling shortly before they die. Now, I ask you why would you need to offer end-of-life counseling to senior citizens?

Could it be because they aren’t going to get healthcare in the end, so they need to be informed of death options like the State of Oregon offered Barbara Wagner when Oregon’s state run system rationed care and denied her treatment for her cancer. In case you haven’t heard the story, the State of Oregon denied cancer treatment but offered physician-assisted suicide for Wagner. This is clearly a sign of the coming healthcare rationing that will occur under Obama’s reckless plan.

I want to know what happens to a senior who tells Obama where to go with his end-of-life counseling. I need to know because I will soon be one of those seniors ready to flip a bird to a government bureaucrat who is going to counsel me on how to die without costing the country a dime.

Governor Jay Nixon Fails to Tell Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder He Was Heading to Iraq

It’s interesting that just a short time after Mark Sanford was scrutinized for not alerting his state where he was that Governor Jay Nixon kept his recent trip to the Middle East secret. Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder was unaware of the trip for two days after Nixon left. The secrecy of Nixon’s trip is interesting to look at to say the least. Why wouldn’t Nixon alert the state's second in power he was leaving the country?

Kinder says it’s been traditional that his office is contacted when the governor leaves the country. A representative of Kinder’s office said, "It's a little outside the normal protocol. In the era of Mark Sanford, people are much more interested in the whereabouts of elected officials."

Nixon’s office claims the Department of Defense told him not to disclose the location of Nixon until after he left Iraq. I find this claim interesting since Kinder is a heartbeat away from the governor’s office and Nixon was heading towards an area in which his life could come under attack. Alerting Kinder that Nixon was heading to Iraq is far different than pinpointing the base Nixon would visit during his trip this past weekend.

Really, there is another issue with Nixon’s trip. Just a couple of weeks ago, Nixon was tightening the budget while threatening the continuation of the Tour of Missouri. A week later he is flying to Iraq on Missouri’s dime. I personally wonder why Missouri taxpayers are paying for Nixon to fly to Iraq to visit with Missouri soldiers when our role in Iraq continues to be reduced. What benefit does it give the state? Does Jay Nixon feel he can lift the morale of soldiers with a visit? I know if I was a solider I would rather see Jessica Simpson or Kid Rock over the governor of Missouri.

Obama Pushing a Healthcare Bill He Claims He Is 'Not Familiar With': The Obama Endgame

Heritage is reporting Obama doesn’t even know what’s in the national health care plan which he is on the fast track to pass. Heritage writes the following:

Heritage: During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked Obama: "Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?"

President Obama replied: "You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about."

Obama is pushing through another plan which he has no clue what it will actually do with one exception. This bill will increase the power of the federal government while redistributing wealth, which is the goal of Obama. This healthcare plan could require doctors to clean wounds with feces and Obama wouldn’t care as long as the federal government achieves more power through its passage. Every bill Obama has been vocal about has this one similarity as the end game—destroy the middle class, redistribute wealth, and give the federal government unconstitutional authority of power through destroying freedoms.

We know from the stimulus bill Obama didn’t know what was in it or what it would do. What it has done is spent money on government and proven the claim that it would create jobs a lie. We know cap and trade is a huge tax on all Americans that will destroy jobs by over regulating American industries to the point they will have no choice but to move overseas. Everything Obama does creates more government dependence, less jobs, and creates more power for his office.

If town hall meetings allowed legitimate questions other than questions from the Peggy Joseph types, we would discover Obama is clueless to the bills he supports. There were never details of his plans during the election. Obama sold them on generalities. He has left the details up to Congress while ensuring the elements required for a statist’s power to be included in these bills. It’s not hard to see this. If real Americans would have access to Obama to ask him questions like the blogger from Maine, Obama would be proven to be a bumbling, stumbling clueless idiot.

Elderly Americans will face the toughest realities of Obamacare. Obama has already cut Medicare for American seniors by over $150 billion, while Medicaid roles have been increased. Rationing for elderly care has already started.

The reality for seniors is this though. There will be over 50 million people added to the American healthcare system (at least 12 million will be illegal aliens). There aren't enough doctors to handle the increase in demand, nor are there enough new doctors coming from the nation's medical schools to make a dent. This reality will hit America's senior citizens the hardest as they will be the first group of Americans who see rationing and lines to receive treatment. There is a good chance that an illegal alien will receive healthcare before you grandmother or grandfather who spent their lifetime paying taxes will. Welcome to Obama's America.

The more Americans find out about Obama's healthcare plan, the less they want it. This is why Obama is rushing to a vote. Obama knows if the debate lingers, Americans will find out the truth which is they will lose the right to choose their healthcare options if Obama triumphs.

Recent polls prove this. The Washington Post-ABC News release a polls showing Obama's favorability of nationalized healthcare is under 50%. Fewer than a majority of Americans think Obama is steering us in the right direction with healthcare, and yet Obama arrogance fails to listen to what Americans are saying about healthcare.
