Obama Aged a Lot in 2009: The Mask Came Off

He was once considered youthful and energetic, and as we close in on the first calendar year of his first term we see in front of us a president who has aged very quickly in just over 11 months. The razor crisps speeches from the campaign trail have turned into blooper filled, bore fests. The dark hair has started to turn grandfatherly gray. Today's Associated picture of Barack Obama in Kaneohe, Hawaii, leaving a movie shows a profile not recognizable a year ago. Even the glasses steal the youth American enjoyed just a year ago. The presidency has quickly taken its toll on Barack Obama, or maybe its the stress of his inexperience incapable of filling the shoes.

As the face and the hair quickly change, so has Obama's favorable ratings among Americans. It's an interesting parallel--the two faces of Obama. The one a year ago that represented hope and change. The one today old and gray and the knowledge Obama is a war president bought and paid for by Wall Street and other special interests. It's like the mask came off, and Obama was like the rest, just a lot more radical.

  1. I just noticed today or yesterday how gray he is getting. It really is amazing how much some ages when they become POTUS. I really don't understand why anyone wants that job. More stress than I want in my life.

  2. Remember how the Clinton hair color used to change frequently. It seemed like they changed it depending on his audience. It also seemed like the made him more gray when he needed to appear wiser. Maybe they are trying to make the ditzy Obama look a little brighter these days, since America isn't buying into he's the smartest president ever after all the fumbling in the latest round of terrorism.

  3. I once saw a psychologist on TV that said Carter's changing of his hair part from left to right side was a sign of him cracking under pressure... seriously

He said normal people never make a change like that when they're in their 50's- plus of course Jimmeh was aging before our eyes as he spoke of our great "malaise"

Obama's definitely in WAY over his head now... I don't think he's ever been tested in any serious way his entire life, one helluva place to start in the WH, eh?

    Happy New Year, anyway!

  4. I remember when the media was pretty much through discrediting Nixon and blowing Watergate totally out of proportion ... they turned to showing how much he aged physically while he was in office. Good to see that Obama is showing signs of stress already ...

  6. @ The Right Guy: 'Earl Scheib" LOL! Like "Fact-o-Bake"!
All presidents start showing their age rapidly once they take office. I don't know if he's laying off the Grecian Formula to gain credibility or if the job is kicking his ass that much.
