New Year Greeting and Message to Barack Obama: Pakistani Journalist Describes the Pains of Living with Al Qaeda

I found this letter to Barack Obama written by Muhammad Khurshid, a journalist in Pakistan. In the letter, if you read it to its end, you discover the fear of people around the world who face the threat of Al Qaeda and other radical Islamic threats. Americans must understand Al Qaeda is a worldwide threat. It destroys communities around the world, and there will be no peace until this country comes to the understanding the threat must be totally removed. If you want peace, the threat is going to have to be destroyed. I wonder if Obama is up for the job.

Respected Sir,

Please accept my warmest greeting on the New Year. Please accept greeting from wife Fatima and my children. We shall be praying that New Year may bring peace and happiness to the whole world.

"The Year that Peace was Born and I would begin it "Out of the fire of war intended to halt the cowardice of terrorists and governments who sanction terror, comes a new concept that our world has not seen in quite a while. It is the idea that Peace and Freedom can ring side by side and that all of Humanity can be free from the curse of oppression.

We in Pakistan have seen our homes and villages destroyed. In America, Americans have faced the scourge of terrorists coming to their shores.

It has been a time where all of us citizens and tribesman, face evil and injustice.

I lost my home in the operation when I and my wife discovered it was destroyed the army of by my own Country. In my life I never thought I'd see the day my own country destroyed my land and my property. My people are a proud tribe of the Uthmankehl, and we did not deserve this, we did nothing. "Americans, millions of them, have lost their homes due to foreclosure...

Now we hope the new year will bring peace to the United States, tribal areas situated on Pak-Afghan border and whole world.
