Miami Dolphins Owner Fined $82,500

Serena Williams, who owns a minority share in the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins, was fined $82,500 for her comments which she threatened a US Open tennis judge with the words kill you. With heavy profanity, Williams made the threat to the judge, and then denied it. Witnesses were there quickly denying Williams’ claims.

Such behavior really isn’t fitting for an owner of an NFL team, is it Mr. Roger Goodell. Surely this isn’t the image you want portrayed by the owners of your valuable teams. There have been other high-profile personalities who were denied ownership for words far less serious, threatening, and profane.

I thought the National Football League had standard when it came to ownership, but I guess the female version of John McEnroe proves differently. She can get away with telling someone she will f’in’ kill them when she doesn’t get the call she wants.
