Christian County Assessor Sandra Bryant-Little Pleads Not Guilty to Mail Fraud and Not Paying Property Taxes

Christian County, Missouri residents got their yearly Christmas card from the county assessor’s office last week. How fitting just days after residents got their yearly reminder their taxes are due on their property that has already been taxed multiple times, Sandra Bryant-Little and her husband, the former county assessor pleaded not guilty for not listing property owned and used on the family farm. She has been charged with mail fraud for failing to assess her own property.

The county eventually discovered farm equipment on the Poco Cala Ranch wasn’t being paid on by the person in charge of enforcing all the other residents in the county to pay their property taxes. Christian County may have a sweet and Godly sounding name, but I have learned quickly there is much corruption in the county.

Along in court with Bryant-Little was her husband pleading not guilty to separate charges.

Apparently, she is still the official assessor in Christian County. (I haven’t yet looked at my tax bill because I haven’t received it because the county continues to misfile my paperwork even though I have called and verified they have received it and filed it.) I am guessing her name still appears on the tax bills. What a real kick in the rump for residents to have a tax cheat send you a tax bill.

The Missouri Attorney General asked the US Attorney’s Office what information it needed to remove Bryant-Little out of her position. They haven’t received any information from the US Attorney’s Office to make a decision, which means she is still on the payroll in Christian County. Nice…
