Humbled
I can’t say how humbled I am by the hope I have received by the readers of this blog. Allies and adversaries alike have wished me well, and the lessons I am having to learn at home need to be applied here as well. I try to give everyone respect, but I am hard headed—listen to the song. There is a reason I titled the blog Bungalow Bill.
I have had so much time to reflect—to understand, and I need to enforce these reflections in my life. Pointing fingers doesn’t always do one well, and while in a blog it’s justified it’s not necessarily in your personal relationships. Pointing fingers at home doesn’t lead to a better life. Everyone is responsible to making a house a home, and I have no right pointing fingers if I didn’t take the time to be a part of something in the first place. It’s really my own fault for not being more involved.
I am sorry to the people I have hurt. It wasn’t intentional. Sometimes the road to a better life is full of disappointments and how we handle those disappointments usually decides if we get to the better life. I should learn this lesson and maybe show a little respect to those regular visitors who don’t agree; let’s try to engage in a healthier debate—maybe even get past the anonymous moniker.
I have a lot of fixing to do. In my desires to be successful and provide, I fell. I fell hard. I notice I became snappy sometimes with my readers. While I am not going to change my views of what’s right for our country, I could have done a better job of making you feel welcome—just like I could have done a better job in my home making things better.
I know there can never be a me. I committed to being an us at home. Which means I need to take less time on my side projects like the blog, new Web sites, online businesses, and spend more time with the people that last building strong relationships that promote dependability, trust, honesty, love, friendship, and vitality.

Spoken like a good christian man. I hear where you're coming from. Strive for quality and invest in your foundation.
ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeleteOne of the most beautiful passages you have written. Let me be the first to wish you peace and contentment everywhere you may find yourself.
Thank you for the inclusion. Lessons of love in a household are always applicable to our fellow humans no matter what the religious or political beliefs. Ironic that a opposing viewer is first to witness such brave honesty. Hats off and sincere best wishes.

In my emotional state, this post brings tears to my eyes. I wish you the best, always.
ReplyDeleteYou've got it. Once you take care of the us, you and God then you and your wonderful wife, everything else will either fall into place, find it's own place or drop away.
ReplyDeleteWisdom comes from maturity and experience, most never attain it, you have. You'll be in Irm's and my prayers.
Just one more comment. Over the last few weeks I've been amazed at the volume of your writings in your blog. I've come to a peace with things. Of course I want my kids to enjoy the country that I grew up in rather than one that resembles East Germany. Of course it is upsetting to see people purposefully disassembling the foundations of this country. However, in the time frame of the eternal none of this serves a purpose. The United States in not a player in God's end game. Brush up on Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and Revelations then look around. The 70th week of Daniel is coming and we'll not be a direct player in it. As much as I would like my kids to know the happiness and freedom I experienced an protected I am much more interested in them experiencing the bountiful life to come, soon. Balance your life - wealthy is not he who has the most, but he who needs the least. I think you are starting to see the balance that can be your life and I have happy to the depths of my being for you.
