Haunted Eureka Springs, AR: The Crescent Hotel

The Crescent Hotel sits in the Ozark Mountains, and has a history of good ghost stories. Since it's close to Halloween, and I have promised not to write about politics and slow this blog down, I thought I would share some ghost pictures that my father's neighbor took during a visit at the Crescent Hotel before I turn out the lights.

He claims not to be a computer expert, doesn't own Photoshop, and enjoys looking for haunts. So giving him the benefit of the doubt, I vouch these pictures are authentic. He has several images of orbs, but I am not going to bore you with those. What he caught on his digital camera is simply amazing.

First let's get a brief history of the hotel.

The Crescent Hotel was built in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in 1886. It was designed and built by Powell Clayton at a cost of $294,000. It sits on the West Mountain of the Ozarks on 27 acres. It served as a resort for visitors who traveled by the Frisco Railroad.

It's been called America's most haunted hotel. There are plenty of ghost stories that have attached themselves to the hotel. Ghostbusters from all over the country have visited the historic hotel hoping to catch a glimpse. There are many videos on YouTube of the Crescent ghosts.

Let's take a look at the pictures:

This was taken in one of the hallways of the Crescent Hotel. When you zoom in on the strange white image sticking out of the adjacent hallway or doorway, it looks like a hand grasping something.

From out of one of the walls of a room, this image captures what appears to be an older man in trousers and leather shoes. Remember if you want a closer look, just click on the image to enlarge.

Finally, let's look at one of the visitors who may not have survived his stay. There is a picture in the Crescent Hotel that features some of its earliest visitors.

Could this young man still be walking the hallways of the Crescent Hotel? I will let you decide. When the following pictures were taken, the photographer noticed nobody in the hallway. When he looked closely at his pictures, he found a strange image that resembles the photo found at the Crescent Hotel.

So much I have seen written on the Internet about the Crescent Hotel involves strange sounds and voices, purple gasses, and orbs. These images are far more interesting than average. I will let you decide what you believe as October is now upon us.

The Crescent Hotel is located at 75 Prospect Ave, Eureka Springs, AR. For more information, including some of the ghost stories, visit http://www.crescent-hotel.com/.

  5. I was recently there and it was the most unsettling experience if my life. I didn't fall asleep until 7:45 a.m. when the room was full of sunlight. I got up at 9:30 and got the heck out of there. We must have taken 100 photos, but only two showed appearances that were NOT there when I took the pictures. Would love to show you.

  7. The hand around the corner. Sorry but there is a fire hose attached to the wall around the corner. The hose is attached to the wall next to the pent house door and wraps around the corner where it is on a spool.

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
