Will You Report Your Neighbor For Talking Bad About Obama and His Healthcare Plan: Obama Asks You To Report His Opposition

The Obama administration is asking citizens to report people who are discussing Obama’s healthcare in a negative way. If you hear someone say something that goes against what Obama says about his healthcare reform proposals, the White House is asking you to report the person in an e-mail to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Jeff Emanuel RedState.com broke the story:

If you see anybody publicly opposing President Obama’s plan to implement a government-centric overhaul of the health care system, the White House wants you to report that person (or persons) ASAP.

From the White House website:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Emphasis added. Of course, as we’ve seen in the health care debate to date, the term “disinformation” is used by the Obama White House as a catchall to describe any opposition to the President’s push for single-payer, government-run health care — meaning the White House wants to be informed of any forwarded emails or blog posts or any “casual conversations” that could be taken as opposition to their health care overhaul plan.

The White House has, as yet, offered no explanation of what it is they plan to do with the tips on policy opposition they hope to receive from citizen informers.

Interestingly, as Jake Tapper pointed out on Twitter this morning, the title of that post on the White House is a quote from John Adams’ 1770 “Argument in Defense of the Soldiers in the Boston Massacre Trials.”

  1. I just turned myself in to the White House's task force for healthcare opposition. I just sent the following e-mail:

I oppose your healthcare plan, and I am turning myself in for reading it and commenting. Shame on me for practicing the First Amendment.

I think everyone should just jam the White House e-mail with this message.

  2. Great idea!

If someone turns another person in, do they get a brown shirt from the White House?

What happened to free speech? Is he going to get his hit men from Chicago to go after everyone that speaks out against his plan to take over health care? The government has done so well with SS and Medicare, both soon to go bankrupt because they used up all the money we gave them when we were working. By all means let's give them the entire health care system to mess up. ;-p

  6. I reported my 85-year old Republican mother to flag@whitehouse.gov and asked them to "straighten her out". She said she was against euthanasia for the elderly in lieu of costly medical treatment.

  7. Obama can kiss my ass. Obama obviously has no respect for the First Amendment with this gestapo like tactic.

  10. Gee, exactly as I quoted in the blog. Way to go J. Wood.

What's to misreport here Mr. Wood? You have now seen the White House asking people to report those who aren't presenting the healthcare plan in the manner Obama is presenting it. It doesn't get any plainer than that.

Yes i just wanted to take a moment to inform you as requested of an Individual who is publically opposed to the Obama Healtcare program.

    That person is Me.

And although you convieniently change to focus in the Media from the question's asked to the preposterous allegations against the people who ask them (as if that matters in the slightest)

Know that it is not working, we are not ignorant sheep, and you'll have to do better.
