Please Protect Us From Ourselves Federal Government: Gruesome Cigarette Warnings Coming

If you have seen the movie, Thank You For Smoking, you may remember the Senator from Vermont played by William H. Macy tried to get new graphic warnings placed on cigarettes. Those graphic warnings will soon appear on a package of cigarettes for real.

When you are standing in line at the Kum & Go or the Piggly Wiggly, do you want to see pictures of cancer ravaged mouth with rotted teeth? How about images of tarry black lungs? Well, maybe if the mouth and lungs were of that of smoker Barack Obama we might not have as much of a problem with the image, but that's a whole other issue. (Oh, I shouldn't have said that. I have made myself very clear our Constitution is more important than the man at 1600 Pennsylvania.)

These are images for a rated R movie, not the counter of a convenience store. Yet, the same people who brought you ratings to protect children from seeing such graphic images in motion pictures are going to ensure you see them at the 7-11.

The authority has been granted through the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act to place these pictures on packs of cigarettes. Obviously the federal government these days is into regulating behavior, which is way beyond their limits placed in the Constitution. For years, smokers have seen the warnings, watched the commercials, and watched their loved ones die. They still choose to smoke, which is their right in a free country.

I am not a smoker, nor will I ever become a smoker. I have a real issue with our government pushing their branded federal morality on free Americans. This is another example of government going way to far? What's next pictures of a clogged heart on your Quarter Pounder? Your Budweiser contains a picture of a man's hard liver? Where does it stop?

We live in a free country, but the problem is programs like Medicare and Obamacare are robbing people out of their personal responsibilities; thus, Congress thinks they have the federal moral authority to regulate our personal behavior by working to detour us with these graphical images. Yet, how many of these Congressmen are caught having unsafe sex--unsafe sex with hookers, same gender sex, and even possibly with interns--interns of the same sex? How many of them have alcohol in their own offices?

You see when it comes down to it, Congress will be able to maintain their fast lane lifestyles while keeping their current healthcare system. All the while, they are going to play mommy and daddy telling us that we can't smoke, drink, or eat fatty foods and they will have that authority if we let them pass this horrendous healthcare system. They are already calling on more taxes on all these products. The writing is on the wall.

  2. I'm thinking of going into politics so I can live recklessly, blame others for my actions, and make sure I'm not stuck with Obamacare.

  3. Well, then...I just lit up a Montecristo No. 2 in spite of the gubmint, and, I guess, my homeschooled children will now have to become homesshopped children who make all of their purchases on line.

Silly Democrats...we always know how to get around, and, especially, away from, you.

  5. Those images are terrible, and I, for one, cannot imaging anyone wanting to do that to their bodies. BUT, the government has no right to tell us what to put into our bodies, or on them, (tattoos will be next.)

This Obamamacare is scary! Keep it away!

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
