My Question for Claire McCaskill Today
The line has already started forming at the Gillioz theater, and it's just barely 6:00 AM in Springfield, MO. The police are ready for the 'mob' that will soon meet Claire McCaskill, the Senator who has embarrassed Missouri in a series of town hall meetings. Today, won't be an exception.
I have my question ready, and I am getting ready to head downtown to stand in line earlier than I planned.
Here's what I hope to get the chance to ask Senator McCaskill.
I recently moved to Springfield from Chicago where I watched the rise of Barack Obama from community organizer to state senator to the US Senate and onward to the White House. During his time in the Illinois State Senate, he opposed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act four times. Due to Obama’s past track record, I worry he doesn’t have the same respect for life that most Americans, like myself, have.
Given that:
1. the language in the House Bill, HR3200, calls for End of Life Counseling;
2. rising national debt and the limits posed by a federal budget now dependent on foreign loans and skeptical lenders; and
3. the President’s voting record as an Illinois state Senator;
can you tell me with absolute certainty that the public option won’t lead to rationing of health care?
