Today is the last day of my mini vacation. I will take the remainder of my personal time off heading to Chilicothe, OH to see my best friend's new baby and get the timing belt replaced on my PT Cruiser, and then I am hopeful I will get an opportunity to see the 2009 Tour of Missouri, so I am saving PTO time for that. I am heading to Branson today. I got free tickets to go see the Liverpool Legends, a Beatles tribute show produced by Louis Harrison, George Harrison's sister. This will the third time I have seen the show.
Just because I take a vacation it doesn't mean the government takes a vacation. My personal time off pay is taxed. At least I am getting paid to take time off. Many companies are forcing their employees to take unpaid days off in order to save money in this tough economy. There is no unemployment compensation for these work furloughs, nor are they considered in Obama's unemployment numbers. They are proof the economy as strong as Obama tries to push it off when his policies are in question.
As you can see, me, an average American has had a huge chunk of money taken from me this year. I have reached the $9000 mark, which is slightly less than I anticipated, but I know the February surprise is coming. After all, part of Obama's program was to cut the payroll deduction not the payroll tax known as the federal income tax. Millions of Americans are in a for a huge surprise when they do their taxes in February.
Here's the totals:

Yea, taxes and more taxes. It's going to take a toll on our economy. It already has.
Joe Biden just admitted that the stimulus package didn't help nearly as much as they suspected. Well, it didn't help at all it appears.
