I can't tell enough how disappointed I am in Sarah Palin's decision to resign. I have read many optimistic blogs today, but I am not as optimistic.
If Sarah Palin runs for President in 2012, she will face many questions about her resignation. I have a feeling we will see the 3 AM commercial again. This time, a woman sits in a bedroom (probably played by Tina Fey) writing a speech, and the phone rings. The speaker in the background calmly says it's 3 AM. The phone rings. At this time the matter demands to full attention of the President of the United States and she sits in be writing her resignation speech--not able to withstand the rigors of the job.
I write this because I know it's coming. It's something Palin better prepare for if the path to the Oval Office is something she considers. The problem is, this might not come from Obama's campaign. It might come from some spineless moderate in the Republican party who understands the threat and the appeal of Sarah Palin. We know these moderates aren't capable of picking a side, but they have no problems slamming Palin.
Be prepared for a primary that will upset Palin supporters. It's coming now, and this opens the door for many possibilities including the reinvention of the 3:00 AM commercial.

The spineless, and loathsome, moderates are everywhere.
BTW...That "Flys Revolt, Swarm White House" piece you found a couple weeks ago over at It Don't Make Sense happened to be mine. Stop by and visit my place, Feed Your ADHD, some time for more, much, much more.
The primary comes first, which means your own party will come gunning for you before anybody else. You bet this will be raised.
Perhaps she is trying to be mindful of her children and felt the need to take shelter for a while. Presidential hopeful or no, she is a human being who can only withstand so much on her own. I don't blame her for regrouping.
Bungalow Bill,
At first I was disappointed with Sarah but than I kept reading her speech. I agree with you that it will be used against Sarah. She will have to fight on her terms. A general election is about Obama. Sarah is not quitting. She is just continuing the fight without the title of Governor. Both Repubicans and Democrats are afraid of this women. The fight is against Liberal Repubicans,Obama and the MSM. The ethics complaints would just continue to lose the state money and time.
