Hi-Point 9mm Carbine: Worth the Trade

I traded for a Hi-Point 9mm carbine this weekend, and I am very pleased with my new rifle. The 9 mm carbine rifle has a military appearance, a nice balance to it when you hold it, sights similar to my Army M-16 , and very accurate once I got it sighted in.

One of the attractive reasons to buy a Hi-Point fire arm is price. The rifle sells new for $189, and according to Gun Tests Magazine scores high. They also mention many law enforcement offices use the rifles as an alternative to the more expensive AR-15.

I shot fifty rounds from my new rifle yesterday. It's got a little more recoil than they advertise, but not enough to be sore after 50 rounds. The carbine uses a 9mm Luger round.

Some claim the firearm is ugly, but I think it has cool look to it. You can purchase custom accessories if to give it a totally different look. It has a military assault rifle look to it. It was developed in 1994 in hopes to fill a niche after the Federal Assault Weapons Ban took effect. I am very happy with my purchase.

Best of all, Hi-Point has a lifetime warranty on all their firearms. Many happy owners have complimented Hi-Point's service. They are also made in the United States.

  2. While I like the Kel-Tec Sub-2000 better, the Hi-Point is a great trunk or beater gun for the money. From I've seen of them, they are built like tanks and should hold up pretty good firing 9mm. I saw one guy with one,and he was doing pretty okay with iron sights even at 50 yards away. Hope you enjoy it.

  3. hi, i picked one up at a pawn shop that looked like it had been run over for 100 bucks. i bought it because if it didn't work i would just send it to the company and they would fix it like new. i didn't have to! it had a cheep red dot on it (because the frount sight had been mangled )and shot like a house on fire at 50 yds . it surprised every one who shot it at the range . hipoint sent me all the parts that i needed to fix it up so it could be shot with iorn sites for free with no questions. i sent about 500 rounds of (belive it or not!!)1960's production Egyptian millitary surplus corosive 9mm ammo threw it. i had maybe 5 misfires or jams.talk about fun! well some one offered me 30 bucks more than i paid for it, and i really want the 45 carbine when it comes out, so i sold it . i do miss it and check the pawn shops regularly for another just incase i get another deal. when the 45 carbine comes out i will buy one on the spot!!

Sorry about the captcha. I hate them just like you, but the spambots have gotten ridiculous.
