Greedy Jennifer Granholm Ruined Her State and Now Wants to Help Push the US in the Same Direction at the Expense of Non-Michigan Tax Payers

Not all the nation's governors are ready to bow down to Obama and his stimulus. As I mentioned last week, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is leading Republican governors telling Dear Leader no. South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford says Obama's "short term" thinking is digging America a new hole to dig out of.
But never fear. You can always count on a Democrat to stick their hand out. After running the state of Michigan in the ground after huge tax increases, Governor Jennifer Granholm wants what the Republicans don't want. She obviously could care less about the Americans who will inherit this debt.
“This is about real people who, through no fault of their own, are laid off because of a recession, and they need to be able to put food on the table,” I will be the“first in line” to “take their dollars too” if South Carolina leaves funds unspent.
Well whose fault is it in Michigan Ms. Granholm? Granholm shut down the Michigan state government to win her tax debate with the state legislature. She successfully pulled off one of the largest tax increases in Michigan. She raised state income taxes from 3.9% to 4.35% and and increased the state's tax on gross business receipts by 22%. The tax increases didn't raise the revenue as Granholm promised, but it did provide the residents of Michigan with lots of misery.
The Michigan Department of Revenue lost money after the tax increase, and it has been reported up to 33% less in revenue. Unemployment shot up in the state, and the state felt its own recession before the country felt it. In other words, we could learn a lot about what not to do from miserable Governor Granholm's leadership. Now she wants to steal from the taxpayers of other states in order to bail herself out of the mess she has created in Michigan.
Michigan businesses are closing down or leaving the state under her leaderhip. Home values have dropped faster than the national average. People are leaving Michigan at a rate of two to one. What a disaster! I think before the Michigan gets a dime, the people of Michigan need to demand better leadership from Lansing. David Littman, an economist, claims the only industry that's growing in Michigan is government. No wonder there's such a fondness between Dear Leader Obama and Governor Granholm.
If Granholm continues down this path, the crime-infested city of Detroit (which may be the worst place I travelled to do business in) may stretch from the Detroit River westward to Lake Michigan and northward to Mackinaw Island--a fact that will have the 'Yoopers' ready to secede from the state once again.

Get used to the shackles of socialism.
ReplyDeleteGreedy Governors willing to sell their states and the citizens of their states due to the fact, they don't have the sense to take care of their own budgets. I used to like Swartzenegger, now I think he is a total dope. We have the same problem in Missouri. Our governor is willing to sell us out for a few bucks, doesn't care the states are loosing their rights with this stimulus. I would say Nixon has not even read the total bill to find out what we are loosing.....he was too busy posing for the front page in the local paper with the headline: First in Line. Certainly made me proud.....
ReplyDeletePurdue in NC is as bad as Granholm, she was the lt. gov. under the most corrupt NC state gov. for 8 years, blew the surplus and now is gov. She is using the fed model of expanding our gov here.
ReplyDeleteMichigan is a beautiful state, I never realize how much
ReplyDeletegranholm has sold out our state. One change to a
socialist state, non-profit organization, On state land
taxpayer pay, selling mineral rights to canada, china,
U.N. for mining. I would think, I michigan state would
keep its mineral rights then to sell them. We should
do the mining not others from others country.
Granholm We the People in United states of America
don't want socialism.
I don't know how to tell the truth any plainer that I just did
